Tena samayena buddho bhagavā rājagahe viharati gijjhakūṭe pabbate. Tena kho pana samayena aññatitthiyā paribbājakā cātuddase pannarase aṭṭhamiyā ca pakkhassa sannipatitvā dhammaṃ bhāsanti. Te manussā upasaṅkamanti dhammassavanāya. Te labhanti aññatitthiyesu paribbājakesu pemaṃ, labhanti pasādaṃ, labhanti aññatitthiyā paribbājakā pakkhaṃ. Atha kho rañño māgadhassa seniyassa bimbisārassa rahogatassa paṭisallīnassa evaṃ cetaso parivitakko udapādi – ‘‘etarahi kho aññatitthiyā paribbājakā cātuddase pannarase aṭṭhamiyā ca pakkhassa sannipatitvā dhammaṃ bhāsanti. Te manussā upasaṅkamanti dhammassavanāya. Te labhanti aññatitthiyesu paribbājakesu pemaṃ, labhanti pasādaṃ, labhanti aññatitthiyā paribbājakā pakkhaṃ. Yaṃnūna ayyāpi cātuddase pannarase aṭṭhamiyā ca pakkhassa sannipateyyu’’nti. Atha kho rājā māgadho seniyo bimbisāro yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkami, upasaṅkamitvā bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ nisīdi. Ekamantaṃ nisinno kho rājā māgadho seniyo bimbisāro bhagavantaṃ etadavoca – ‘‘idha mayhaṃ, bhante, rahogatassa paṭisallīnassa evaṃ cetaso parivitakko udapādi ‘etarahi kho aññatitthiyā paribbājakā cātuddase pannarase aṭṭhamiyā ca pakkhassa sannipatitvā dhammaṃ bhāsanti. Te manussā upasaṅkamanti dhammassavanāya. Te labhanti aññatitthiyesu paribbājakesu pemaṃ, labhanti pasādaṃ, labhanti aññatitthiyā paribbājakā pakkhaṃ. Atha kho bhagavā rājānaṃ māgadhaṃ seniyaṃ bimbisāraṃ dhammiyā kathāya sandassesi samādapesi samuttejesi sampahaṃsesi. Atha kho rājā māgadho seniyo bimbisāro bhagavatā dhammiyā kathāya sandassito samādapito samuttejito sampahaṃsito uṭṭhāyāsanā bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā padakkhiṇaṃ katvā pakkāmi. Atha kho bhagavā etasmiṃ nidāne etasmiṃ pakaraṇe dhammiṃ kathaṃ katvā bhikkhū āmantesi – ‘‘anujānāmi, bhikkhave, cātuddase pannarase aṭṭhamiyā ca pakkhassa sannipatitu’’nti.
尔时,佛陀世尊住在王舍城鹫峰山。尔时,诸外道游方者于半月的第十四日、第十五日及第八日集会后说法。诸人前往听法。他们对诸外道游方者获得爱,获得净信,诸外道游方者获得支持。时,马嘎塔国王些尼亚·宾比萨拉独自静处时,心中生起如此思惟:「现今诸外道游方者于半月的第十四日、第十五日及第八日集会后说法。诸人前往听法。他们对诸外道游方者获得爱,获得净信,诸外道游方者获得支持。何不诸尊者也于半月的第十四日、第十五日及第八日集会?」时,马嘎塔国王些尼亚·宾比萨拉前往世尊处,抵达后,礼敬世尊,坐于一旁。坐于一旁的马嘎塔国王些尼亚·宾比萨拉对世尊如此说:「尊者,我独自静处时,心中生起如此思惟:『现今诸外道游方者于半月的第十四日、第十五日及第八日集会后说法。诸人前往听法。他们对诸外道游方者获得爱,获得净信,诸外道游方者获得支持。何不诸尊者也于半月的第十四日、第十五日及第八日集会?』尊者,善哉,诸尊者也应于半月的第十四日、第十五日及第八日集会。」时,世尊以法语开示、劝导、激励、使马嘎塔国王些尼亚·宾比萨拉欢喜。时,马嘎塔国王些尼亚·宾比萨拉被世尊以法语开示、劝导、激励、使欢喜后,从座起立,礼敬世尊,作右绕后离去。时,世尊以此因缘、以此事件作法语后,告诸比库:「诸比库,我允许于半月的第十四日、第十五日及第八日集会。」
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhū – bhagavatā anuññātā cātuddase pannarase aṭṭhamiyā ca pakkhassa sannipatitunti – cātuddase pannarase aṭṭhamiyā ca pakkhassa sannipatitvā tuṇhī nisīdanti. Te manussā upasaṅkamanti dhammassavanāya. Te ujjhāyanti khiyyanti vipācenti – ‘‘kathañhi nāma samaṇā sakyaputtiyā cātuddase pannarase aṭṭhamiyā ca pakkhassa sannipatitvā tuṇhī nisīdissanti, seyyathāpi mūgasūkarā. Nanu nāma sannipatitehi dhammo bhāsitabbo’’ti. Assosuṃ kho bhikkhū tesaṃ manussānaṃ ujjhāyantānaṃ khiyyantānaṃ vipācentānaṃ. Atha kho te bhikkhū bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ…pe… atha kho bhagavā etasmiṃ nidāne etasmiṃ pakaraṇe dhammiṃ kathaṃ katvā bhikkhū āmantesi – ‘‘anujānāmi, bhikkhave, cātuddase pannarase aṭṭhamiyā ca pakkhassa sannipatitvā dhammaṃ bhāsitu’’nti.
尔时,诸比库——世尊已允许于半月的第十四日、第十五日及第八日集会——于半月的第十四日、第十五日及第八日集会后默然而坐。诸人前往听法。他们不满、呵责、非难:「为何沙门释迦子于半月的第十四日、第十五日及第八日集会后默然而坐,如同哑猪?难道集会者不应说法吗?」诸比库听闻彼等人不满、呵责、非难。时,彼等比库将此事禀告世尊……时,世尊以此因缘、以此事件作法语后,告诸比库:「诸比库,我允许于半月的第十四日、第十五日及第八日集会后说法。」

Atha kho bhagavato rahogatassa paṭisallīnassa evaṃ cetaso parivitakko udapādi – ‘‘yaṃnūnāhaṃ yāni mayā bhikkhūnaṃ paññattāni sikkhāpadāni, tāni nesaṃ pātimokkhuddesaṃ anujāneyyaṃ. So nesaṃ bhavissati uposathakamma’’nti. Atha kho bhagavā sāyanhasamayaṃ paṭisallānā vuṭṭhito etasmiṃ nidāne etasmiṃ pakaraṇe dhammiṃ kathaṃ katvā bhikkhū āmantesi – idha mayhaṃ, bhikkhave, rahogatassa paṭisallīnassa evaṃ cetaso parivitakko udapādi ‘yaṃnūnāhaṃ yāni mayā bhikkhūnaṃ paññattāni sikkhāpadāni, tāni nesaṃ pātimokkhuddesaṃ anujāneyyaṃ. So nesaṃ bhavissati uposathakamma’nti. Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, pātimokkhaṃ uddisituṃ. Evañca pana, bhikkhave, uddisitabbaṃ. Byattena bhikkhunā paṭibalena saṅgho ñāpetabbo –
时,世尊独自静处时,心中生起如此思惟:「何不我将我为诸比库所制定的诸学处,允许他们诵巴帝摩卡?那将是他们的伍波萨他业。」时,世尊于傍晚时从静处出,以此因缘、以此事件作法语后,告诸比库:「诸比库,我独自静处时,心中生起如此思惟:『何不我将我为诸比库所制定的诸学处,允许他们诵巴帝摩卡?那将是他们的伍波萨他业。』诸比库,我允许诵巴帝摩卡。诸比库,应如此诵。应由有能力的比库向僧团告知——

‘‘Suṇātu me, bhante, saṅgho. Yadi saṅghassa pattakallaṃ, saṅgho uposathaṃ kareyya, pātimokkhaṃ uddiseyya. Kiṃ saṅghassa pubbakiccaṃ? Pārisuddhiṃ āyasmanto ārocetha . Pātimokkhaṃ uddisissāmi. Taṃ sabbeva santā sādhukaṃ suṇoma manasi karoma. Yassa siyā āpatti , so āvikareyya. Asantiyā āpattiyā tuṇhī bhavitabbaṃ. Tuṇhībhāvena kho panāyasmante parisuddhāti vedissāmi. Yathā kho pana paccekapuṭṭhassa veyyākaraṇaṃ hoti, evamevaṃ evarūpāya parisāya yāvatatiyaṃ anussāvitaṃ hoti. Yo pana bhikkhu yāvatatiyaṃ anussāviyamāne saramāno santiṃ āpattiṃ nāvikareyya, sampajānamusāvādassa hoti. Sampajānamusāvādo kho panāyasmanto antarāyiko dhammo vutto bhagavatā. Tasmā, saramānena bhikkhunā āpannena visuddhāpekkhena santī āpatti āvikātabbā; āvikatā hissa phāsu hotī’’ti.
「尊者们,请僧团听我说。若僧团适时,僧团应作伍波萨他,应诵巴帝摩卡。僧团的前行事是什么?诸具寿应告知清净。我将诵巴帝摩卡。我们一切在座者应善听、作意。若有犯者,应发露。无犯者应默然。以默然,我将知诸具寿清净。如对个别所问的回答,如是在如此会众中,乃至三次告知。若比库在乃至三次告知时,忆念而有犯不发露,则有知而妄语。诸具寿,知而妄语被世尊说为障碍法。因此,忆念的比库、已犯者、希求清净者,应发露有犯;发露后,对他安乐。」

Tena vuccati pātimokkhanti. ti piyavacanametaṃ garuvacanametaṃ sagāravasappatissādhivacanametaṃ āyasmantoti. ti ācikkhissāmi desessāmi paññapessāmi paṭṭhapessāmi vivarissāmi vibhajissāmi uttāniṃ karissāmi pakāsessāmi. nti pātimokkhaṃ vuccati. ti yāvatikā tassā parisāya therā ca navā ca majjhimā ca, ete vuccanti sabbeva santāti. ti aṭṭhiṃ katvā manasi katvā sabbacetasā samannāharāma. ti ekaggacittā avikkhittacittā avisāhaṭacittā nisāmema. ti therassa vā navassa vā majjhimassa vā, pañcannaṃ vā āpattikkhandhānaṃ aññatarā āpatti, sattannaṃ vā āpattikkhandhānaṃ aññatarā āpatti. ti so deseyya, so vivareyya, so uttāniṃ kareyya, so pakāseyya saṅghamajjhe vā gaṇamajjhe vā ekapuggale vā. nāma anajjhāpannā vā hoti, āpajjitvā vā vuṭṭhitā. nti adhivāsetabbaṃ na byāharitabbaṃ. ti jānissāmi dhāressāmi. ti yathā ekena eko puṭṭho byākareyya, evameva tassā parisāya jānitabbaṃ maṃ pucchatīti. nāma bhikkhuparisā vuccati. ti sakimpi anussāvitaṃ hoti, dutiyampi anussāvitaṃ hoti, tatiyampi anussāvitaṃ hoti. ti jānamāno sañjānamāno. nāma ajjhāpannā vā hoti, āpajjitvā vā avuṭṭhitā. ti na deseyya, na vivareyya, na uttāniṃ kareyya, na pakāseyya saṅghamajjhe vā gaṇamajjhe vā ekapuggale vā. ti. Sampajānamusāvāde kiṃ hoti? Dukkaṭaṃ hoti. ti. Kissa antarāyiko? Paṭhamassa jhānassa adhigamāya antarāyiko, dutiyassa jhānassa adhigamāya antarāyiko, tatiyassa jhānassa adhigamāya antarāyiko, catutthassa jhānassa adhigamāya antarāyiko, jhānānaṃ vimokkhānaṃ samādhīnaṃ samāpattīnaṃ nekkhammānaṃ nissaraṇānaṃ pavivekānaṃ kusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ adhigamāya antarāyiko. ti taṅkāraṇā. ti jānamānena sañjānamānena. ti vuṭṭhātukāmena visujjhitukāmena. nāma ajjhāpannā vā hoti, āpajjitvā vā avuṭṭhitā. ti āvikātabbā saṅghamajjhe vā gaṇamajjhe vā ekapuggale vā. ti. Kissa phāsu hoti? Paṭhamassa jhānassa adhigamāya phāsu hoti, dutiyassa jhānassa adhigamāya phāsu hoti, tatiyassa jhānassa adhigamāya phāsu hoti, catutthassa jhānassa adhigamāya phāsu hoti, jhānānaṃ vimokkhānaṃ samādhīnaṃ samāpattīnaṃ nekkhammānaṃ nissaraṇānaṃ pavivekānaṃ kusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ adhigamāya phāsu hotīti.
「巴帝摩卡」:这是诸善法的开始、面、前面。因此说「巴帝摩卡」。「尊者们」:这是亲爱语、尊重语、恭敬尊重语,即「诸具寿」。「我将告知」:我将说、将施设、将建立、将开显、将分别论、将使明了、将阐明。「巴帝摩卡」:即称为巴帝摩卡。「一切在座者」:凡彼会众中的长老、新者、中者,这些称为「一切在座者」。「善听」:作意、心作意,以一切心领受。「作意」:一心、不散乱心、不动摇心,我们应谛听。「若有犯」:长老或新者或中者,五犯聚中的某一犯,或七犯聚中的某一犯。「应发露」:应说、应开显、应使明了、应阐明,于僧团中或众中或对一人。「无犯」:未犯者,或已犯而已出罪。「应默然」:应忍受,不应言说。「我将知」:我将了知、将持。「如对个别所问的回答」:如一人被一人所问而回答,如是应知彼会众问我。「如此会众」:即称为比库会众。「乃至三次告知」:一次告知,二次告知,三次告知。「忆念」:知、了知。「有犯」:已犯者,或已犯而未出罪。「不发露」:不说、不开显、不使明了、不阐明,于僧团中或众中或对一人。「知而妄语」:知而妄语有何?有恶作。「障碍法」:障碍何?障碍第一禅那的证得,障碍第二禅那的证得,障碍第三禅那的证得,障碍第四禅那的证得,障碍诸禅那、诸解脱、诸定、诸等至、诸出离、诸离、诸远离、诸善法的证得。「因此」:以此为因。「忆念」:知、了知。「希求清净」:希求出罪、希求清净。「有犯」:已犯者,或已犯而未出罪。「应发露」:应发露于僧团中或众中或对一人。「对他安乐」:对何安乐?对第一禅那的证得安乐,对第二禅那的证得安乐,对第三禅那的证得安乐,对第四禅那的证得安乐,对诸禅那、诸解脱、诸定、诸等至、诸出离、诸离、诸远离、诸善法的证得安乐。

Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhū – bhagavatā pātimokkhuddeso anuññātoti – devasikaṃ pātimokkhaṃ uddisanti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. Na, bhikkhave, devasikaṃ pātimokkhaṃ uddisitabbaṃ. Yo uddiseyya, āpatti dukkaṭassa. Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, uposathe pātimokkhaṃ uddisitunti.
尔时,诸比库——世尊已允许诵巴帝摩卡——每日诵巴帝摩卡。他们将此事禀告世尊。「诸比库,不应每日诵巴帝摩卡。若诵者,犯恶作。诸比库,我允许于伍波萨他日诵巴帝摩卡。」
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhū – bhagavatā uposathe pātimokkhuddeso anuññātoti – pakkhassa tikkhattuṃ pātimokkhaṃ uddisanti, cātuddase pannarase aṭṭhamiyā ca pakkhassa. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. Na, bhikkhave, pakkhassa tikkhattuṃ pātimokkhaṃ uddisitabbaṃ. Yo uddiseyya, āpatti dukkaṭassa. Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, sakiṃ pakkhassa cātuddase vā pannarase vā pātimokkhaṃ uddisitunti.
尔时,诸比库——世尊已允许于伍波萨他日诵巴帝摩卡——半月三次诵巴帝摩卡,于半月的第十四日、第十五日及第八日。他们将此事禀告世尊。「诸比库,不应半月三次诵巴帝摩卡。若诵者,犯恶作。诸比库,我允许半月一次,于第十四日或第十五日诵巴帝摩卡。」
Tena kho pana samayena chabbaggiyā bhikkhū yathāparisāya pātimokkhaṃ uddisanti sakāya sakāya parisāya. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. Na, bhikkhave, yathāparisāya pātimokkhaṃ uddisitabbaṃ sakāya sakāya parisāya. Yo uddiseyya, āpatti dukkaṭassa. Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, samaggānaṃ uposathakammanti.
尔时,六群比库各自于自己的会众中,依会众诵巴帝摩卡。他们将此事禀告世尊。「诸比库,不应各自于自己的会众中,依会众诵巴帝摩卡。若诵者,犯恶作。诸比库,我允许和合者的伍波萨他业。」
Atha kho bhikkhūnaṃ etadahosi – ‘‘bhagavatā paññattaṃ ‘samaggānaṃ uposathakamma’nti. Kittāvatā nu kho sāmaggī hoti, yāvatā ekāvāso, udāhu sabbā pathavī’’ti? Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, ettāvatā sāmaggī yāvatā ekāvāsoti.
尔时,诸比库生起此念:「世尊已制定『和合者的伍波萨他甘马』。到何种程度为和合?是一住处的范围,还是整个大地?」他们将此事禀告世尊。「诸比库,我允许,到此程度为和合,即一住处的范围。」

Tena kho pana samayena āyasmā mahākappino rājagahe viharati maddakucchimhi migadāye. Atha kho āyasmato mahākappinassa rahogatassa paṭisallīnassa evaṃ cetaso parivitakko udapādi – ‘‘gaccheyyaṃ vāhaṃ uposathaṃ na vā gaccheyyaṃ, gaccheyyaṃ vāhaṃ saṅghakammaṃ na vā gaccheyyaṃ, atha khvāhaṃ visuddho paramāya visuddhiyā’’ti? Atha kho bhagavā āyasmato mahākappinassa cetasā cetoparivitakkamaññāya – seyyathāpi nāma balavā puriso samiñjitaṃ vā bāhaṃ pasāreyya, pasāritaṃ vā bāhaṃ samiñjeyya, evameva – gijjhakūṭe pabbate antarahito maddakucchimhi migadāye āyasmato mahākappinassa sammukhe pāturahosi. Nisīdi bhagavā paññatte āsane. Āyasmāpi kho mahākappino bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ nisīdi. Ekamantaṃ nisinnaṃ kho āyasmantaṃ mahākappinaṃ bhagavā etadavoca – ‘‘nanu te, kappina, rahogatassa paṭisallīnassa evaṃ cetaso parivitakko udapādi – gaccheyyaṃ vāhaṃ uposathaṃ na vā gaccheyyaṃ, gaccheyyaṃ vāhaṃ saṅghakammaṃ na vā gaccheyyaṃ, atha khvāhaṃ visuddho paramāya visuddhiyā’’ti? ‘‘Evaṃ, bhante’’. ‘‘Tumhe ce brāhmaṇā uposathaṃ na sakkarissatha na garukarissatha na mānessatha na pūjessatha, atha ko carahi uposathaṃ sakkarissati garukarissati mānessati pūjessati? Gaccha tvaṃ, brāhmaṇa, uposathaṃ, mā no agamāsi. Gaccha tvaṃ saṅghakammaṃ, mā no agamāsī’’ti. ‘‘Evaṃ, bhante’’ti kho āyasmā mahākappino bhagavato paccassosi. Atha kho bhagavā āyasmantaṃ mahākappinaṃ dhammiyā kathāya sandassetvā samādapetvā samuttejetvā sampahaṃsetvā – seyyathāpi nāma balavā puriso samiñjitaṃ vā bāhaṃ pasāreyya, pasāritaṃ vā bāhaṃ samiñjeyya, evameva – maddakucchimhi migadāye āyasmato mahākappinassa sammukhe antarahito gijjhakūṭe pabbate pāturahosi.
尔时,具寿马哈咖宾那住在王舍城马达库其的鹿野苑。尔时,具寿马哈咖宾那独自远离、独坐时,心中生起如此寻思:「我应该去伍波萨他还是不应该去?我应该去僧伽甘马还是不应该去?然而我以最上的清净而清净。」尔时,世尊以心了知具寿马哈咖宾那心中的寻思——犹如有力之人伸屈曲之臂,或屈伸展之臂,如是迅速——从耆阇崛山消失,出现在马达库其鹿野苑具寿马哈咖宾那面前。世尊坐于所设之座。具寿马哈咖宾那亦礼敬世尊后,坐于一旁。世尊对坐于一旁的具寿马哈咖宾那如此说:「咖宾那,你独自远离、独坐时,心中岂非生起如此寻思:『我应该去伍波萨他还是不应该去?我应该去僧伽甘马还是不应该去?然而我以最上的清净而清净』?」「是的,尊者。」「婆罗门,你们若不恭敬、不尊重、不尊敬、不礼敬伍波萨他,那么谁还会恭敬、尊重、尊敬、礼敬伍波萨他呢?婆罗门,你去伍波萨他,不要不去。你去僧伽甘马,不要不去。」「是的,尊者。」具寿马哈咖宾那应诺世尊。尔时,世尊以法语示导、劝导、鼓励、使具寿马哈咖宾那欢喜后——犹如有力之人伸屈曲之臂,或屈伸展之臂,如是迅速——从马达库其鹿野苑具寿马哈咖宾那面前消失,出现在耆阇崛山。
71. Sīmānujānanā71. 允许界

Atha kho bhikkhūnaṃ etadahosi – ‘‘bhagavatā paññattaṃ ‘ettāvatā sāmaggī yāvatā ekāvāso’ti, kittāvatā nu kho ekāvāso hotī’’ti? Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, sīmaṃ sammannituṃ. Evañca pana, bhikkhave, sammannitabbā – paṭhamaṃ nimittā kittetabbā – pabbatanimittaṃ, pāsāṇanimittaṃ, vananimittaṃ, rukkhanimittaṃ, magganimittaṃ, vammikanimittaṃ, nadīnimittaṃ, udakanimittaṃ. Nimitte kittetvā byattena bhikkhunā paṭibalena saṅgho ñāpetabbo –
尔时,诸比库生起此念:「世尊已制定『到此程度为和合,即一住处的范围』,到何种程度为一住处?」他们将此事禀告世尊。「诸比库,我允许结界。诸比库,应如此结:首先应标示标志——山标志、石标志、林标志、树标志、道标志、蚁塔标志、河标志、水标志。标示标志后,应由精通、能干的比库告知僧团——」

‘‘Suṇātu me, bhante, saṅgho . Yāvatā samantā nimittā kittitā. Yadi saṅghassa pattakallaṃ, saṅgho etehi nimittehi sīmaṃ sammanneyya samānasaṃvāsaṃ ekuposathaṃ . Esā ñatti.
「尊者们,请僧团听我说。凡周围所标示的标志。若僧团适时,僧团应以这些标志结界,同一住处,一伍波萨他。此为告知。」
‘‘Suṇātu me, bhante, saṅgho. Yāvatā samantā nimittā kittitā. Saṅgho etehi nimittehi sīmaṃ sammannati samānasaṃvāsaṃ ekuposathaṃ. 尔时,六群比库结河对岸界。前来伍波萨他的诸比库被冲走,钵也被冲走,衣也被冲走。他们将此事禀告世尊。「诸比库,不应结河对岸界。若结者,犯恶作。诸比库,我允许,若有常设的船或常设的桥,可结如此的河对岸界。」

Nimitte kittetvā byattena bhikkhunā paṭibalena saṅgho ñāpetabbo –

Idha pana, bhikkhave, sambahulā āvāsā samānasīmā honti. Tattha bhikkhū vivadanti – ‘‘amhākaṃ āvāse uposatho karīyatu, amhākaṃ āvāse uposatho karīyatū’’ti. Tehi, bhikkhave, bhikkhūhi sabbeheva ekajjhaṃ sannipatitvā uposatho kātabbo. Yattha vā pana thero bhikkhu viharati, tattha sannipatitvā uposatho kātabbo, na tveva vaggena saṅghena uposatho kātabbo. Yo kareyya, āpatti dukkaṭassāti.

Bhikkhū evamāhaṃsu – ‘‘kissa tumhe, āvuso, duccoḷā lūkhacīvarā’’ti? ‘‘Idha mayaṃ, āvuso, bhagavatā ticīvarena avippavāsasammuti anuññātāti antaraghare cīvarāni nikkhipimhā . Tāni cīvarāni naṭṭhānipi daḍḍhānipi, undūrehipi khāyitāni, tena mayaṃ duccoḷā lūkhacīvarā’’ti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. Yā sā, bhikkhave, saṅghena sīmā sammatā samānasaṃvāsā ekuposathā, saṅgho taṃ sīmaṃ ticīvarena avippavāsaṃ sammannatu, ṭhapetvā gāmañca gāmūpacārañca. Evañca pana, bhikkhave, sammannitabbā. Asammatāya , bhikkhave, sīmāya aṭṭhapitāya, yaṃ gāmaṃ vā nigamaṃ vā upanissāya viharati, yā tassa vā gāmassa gāmasīmā, nigamassa vā nigamasīmā, ayaṃ tattha samānasaṃvāsā ekuposathā. Agāmake ce, bhikkhave, araññe samantā sattabbhantarā, ayaṃ tattha samānasaṃvāsā ekuposathā. Sabbā, bhikkhave, nadī asīmā; sabbo samuddo asīmo; sabbo jātassaro asīmo. Nadiyā vā, bhikkhave, samudde vā jātassare vā yaṃ majjhimassa purisassa samantā udakukkhepā, ayaṃ tattha samānasaṃvāsā ekuposathāti.
「诸比库,在未结界、未设立的情况下,依止村或镇而住,该村的村界或该镇的镇界,即是共同住处、一伍波萨他界。诸比库,若在无村的阿兰若,周围七阿跋多,即是共同住处、一伍波萨他界。诸比库,一切河流无界;一切海洋无界;一切自然湖无界。诸比库,在河流、海洋或自然湖中,中等身材的人周围所能投掷水的范围,即是共同住处、一伍波萨他界。」

Yesaṃ, bhikkhave, sīmā pacchā sammatā tesaṃ taṃ kammaṃ adhammikaṃ kuppaṃ aṭṭhānārahaṃ. Na, bhikkhave, sīmāya sīmā sambhinditabbā. Yo sambhindeyya, āpatti dukkaṭassāti.
尔时,六群比库以界混合界。他们将此事禀告世尊。「诸比库,先结界者,其甘马如法、不可破、应理。诸比库,后结界者,其甘马不如法、可破、不应理。诸比库,不应以界混合界。若混合者,犯恶作。」

尔时,在国萨拉国某住处,于伍波萨他日有猛兽之怖畏。诸比库不能详细诵巴帝摩卡。诸比库将此事禀告世尊。「诸比库,我允许有障碍时略诵巴帝摩卡。」

Tatrime antarāyā – rājantarāyo, corantarāyo, agyantarāyo, udakantarāyo, manussantarāyo, amanussantarāyo , vāḷantarāyo, sarīsapantarāyo, jīvitantarāyo, brahmacariyantarāyoti. 尔时,六群比库们对未作许可的比库以罪举罪。他们将此事禀告世尊。「诸比库,不应对未作许可的比库以罪举罪。若举罪者,犯恶作。诸比库,我允许令作许可后以罪举罪——『请具寿作许可,我想对你说。』」

尔时,善良的比库们令六群比库们作许可后以罪举罪。六群比库们得到愤怒,得到不满,以威胁恐吓。他们将此事禀告世尊。「诸比库,我允许即使已作许可,也应衡量个人后以罪举罪。」
Tena kho pana samayena chabbaggiyā bhikkhū – puramhākaṃ pesalā bhikkhū okāsaṃ kārāpentīti – paṭikacceva suddhānaṃ bhikkhūnaṃ anāpattikānaṃ avatthusmiṃ akāraṇe okāsaṃ kārāpenti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. Na, bhikkhave, suddhānaṃ bhikkhūnaṃ anāpattikānaṃ avatthusmiṃ akāraṇe okāso kārāpetabbo. Yo kārāpeyya, āpatti dukkaṭassa. Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, puggalaṃ tulayitvā okāsaṃ kātu nti.

Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, catūhi pañcahi paṭikkosituṃ, dvīhi tīhi diṭṭhiṃ āvikātuṃ, ekena adhiṭṭhātuṃ – ‘na metaṃ khamatī’ti.

Atha kho āyasmato udāyissa etadahosi – ‘‘bhagavatā paññattaṃ ‘pātimokkhuddesakena sāvetabba’nti, ahañcamhi kākassarako, kathaṃ nu kho mayā paṭipajjitabba’’nti? Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, pātimokkhuddesakena vāyamituṃ – ‘kathaṃ sāveyya’nti. Vāyamantassa anāpattīti.

尔时,世尊告诉诸比库:「诸比库,集合吧,僧团将作甘马。」如是所说时,某位比库对世尊如是说:「尊者,有比库病了,他未来。」诸比库,我允许病比库给与欲。诸比库,应如此给与。那位病比库应前往一位比库处,偏袒上衣,蹲踞而坐,合掌后应如是说:「我给与欲,请为我带欲,请为我宣告欲。」以身表示,以语表示,以身语表示,欲已给与。不以身表示,不以语表示,不以身语表示,欲未给与。若如此得到,这是善的。若不得到,诸比库,那位病比库应以床或椅带到僧团中间后作甘马。诸比库,若看护病者的诸比库如是想:「若我们移动病者离开处所,病将增长或将死亡。」诸比库,不应移动病比库离开处所。僧团应前往那里作甘马。但不应以分裂的僧团作甘马。若作,犯恶作罪。

尔时,于某住处,当日伍波萨他时有四位比库住。时,彼诸比库生起此念:「世尊制定『应行伍波萨他』,而我们是四人,我们应如何行伍波萨他?」他们将此事禀告世尊。「诸比库,我允许四人诵巴帝摩卡。」

Titthiyā bimbisāro ca, sannipatituṃ tuṇhikā;
外道们与频毗娑罗,集会时默然;
Dhammaṃ raho pātimokkhaṃ, devasikaṃ tadā sakiṃ.
法、秘密、别解脱,天日时一次。
Yathāparisā samaggaṃ, sāmaggī maddakucchi ca;
如众和合,和合与马达库吉;
Sīmā mahatī nadiyā, anu dve khuddakāni ca.
大界、河,随二小。
Navā rājagahe ceva, sīmā avippavāsanā;
新在王舍城,界、不离去;
Sammanne paṭhamaṃ sīmaṃ, pacchā sīmaṃ samūhane.
认可时首先界,其后界于撤除。
Asammatā gāmasīmā, nadiyā samudde sare;
未经认可的村界,河流、海洋、湖泊;
Udakukkhepo bhindanti, tathevajjhottharanti ca.
水的抛掷会破坏,同样地,他们也会超越。
Kati kammāni uddeso, savarā asatīpi ca;
有多少业的列举,有声与无声的;
Dhammaṃ vinayaṃ tajjenti, puna vinayatajjanā.

Codanā kate okāse, adhammappaṭikkosanā;

Sambahulā na jānanti, sajjukaṃ na ca gacchare.
众多人不知道,不应与有罪者同行。
Katimī kīvatikā dūre, ārocetuñca nassari;
多少、几何、远,以及应告知者;
Uklāpaṃ āsanaṃ dīpo, disā añño bahussuto.
覆盖、座、灯,方向、另一位多闻者。
Sajjukaṃ vassuposatho, suddhikammañca ñātakā;
有箭、雨安居伍波萨他,清净业以及亲属;
Gaggo catutayo dveko, āpattisabhāgā sari.
屋顶、四、三、二,相似罪以及忆念。
Sabbo saṅgho vematiko, na jānanti bahussuto;
全僧团疑惑,不知道多闻者;
Bahū samasamā thokā, parisā avuṭṭhitāya ca.
多数、相等、少数,会众以及未起立者。
Ekaccā vuṭṭhitā sabbā, jānanti ca vematikā;
一部分已起立、全部,知道以及疑惑者;
Kappatevāti kukkuccā, jānaṃ passaṃ suṇanti ca.
应允许以及恶作,知者、见者以及听闻者。
Āvāsikena āgantu, cātupannaraso puna;
住处者与来者,再者四与十五;
Pāṭipado pannaraso, liṅgasaṃvāsakā ubho.
行道十五,两者相与共住。
Pārivāsānuposatho , aññatra saṅghasāmaggiyā;
别住伍波萨他,除了僧团和合;
Ete vibhattā uddānā, vatthuvibhūtakāraṇāti.
