Vipassissa aparabhāge antarahite ca tasmiṃ kappe tato paraṃ ekūnasaṭṭhiyā kappesu buddhā loke na uppajjiṃsu. Apagatabuddhāloko ahosi. Kilesadevaputtamārānaṃ ekarajjaṃ apagatakaṇṭakaṃ ahosi. Ito pana ekattiṃsakappe siniddhasukkhasāradārupacito pahūtasappisitto nidhūmo sikhī viya sikhī ca vessabhū cāti dve sammāsambuddhā loke uppajjiṃsu. Tattha sikhī pana bhagavā pāramiyo pūretvā tusitapure nibbattitvā tato cavitvā kusalakaraṇavatī aruṇavatīnagare paramaguṇavato aruṇavato nāma rañño aggamahesiyā rattakanakapaṭibimbarucirappabhāya pabhāvatiyā nāma deviyā kucchismiṃ paṭisandhiṃ gahetvā dasa māse vītināmetvā nisabhuyyāne mātukucchito nikkhami. Nemittikā panassa nāmaṃ karontā uṇhīsassa sikhā viya uggatattā ‘‘sikhī’’ti nāmamakaṃsu. So sattavassasahassāni agāraṃ ajjhāvasi. Sucandakasirīgiriyasanārivasabha nāmakā tayo pāsādā ahesuṃ. Sabbakāmādevippamukhāni catuvīsati itthisahassāni paccupaṭṭhitāni ahesuṃ.
在毗婆尸佛灭度之后的那个时代中,在其中的世界里,经过六十五个劫之后,没有再生起任何佛陀。那时佛陀已灭,世间如无佛出现一般。烦恼、天子、魔等坏众生一统天下,如同被灾难的荆棘覆盖。此后,在三十三个劫之后,由于雨季和干季交替的气候,像烟火一样的尘埃弥漫,世间复有两位正觉佛出现。此中一位佛为世尊悉喜,他圆满了波罗蜜多修行,在兜率天宫诞生,后离开,降生于阿摩纳国阿卢那城。其国王为名高德,乃至打磨有金光彩的红宝石成王后,与之结婚,在十个月后于尼沙布苑生子。此子发如火焰,上翘立起,故名悉喜。悉喜在此处久住七万年,建有三座长宫,名为淑旃陀迦、诗戛梨夜、萨那利伐萨婆。诸多梵天女神和二十四万女眷严守侍奉于佛身边。
So cattāri nimittāni disvā sabbakāmādeviyā guṇagaṇātule atule nāma putte uppanne hatthiyānena hatthikkhandhavaragato mahābhinikkhamanaṃ nikkhamitvā pabbaji. Taṃ sattatipurisasatasahassāni anupabbajiṃsu. So tehi parivuto aṭṭhamāsaṃ padhānacariyaṃ caritvā visākhapuṇṇamāya gaṇasaṅgaṇikaṃ pahāya sudassananigame piyadassīseṭṭhino dhītuyā dinnaṃ madhupāyāsaṃ paribhuñjitvā taruṇakhadiravane divāvihāraṃ vītināmetvā anomadassinā nāma tāpasena dinnā aṭṭha kusatiṇamuṭṭhiyo gahetvā puṇḍarīkabodhiṃ upasaṅkami. Tassā kira puṇḍarīkabodhiyāpi pāṭaliyā pamāṇameva pamāṇaṃ ahosi. Taṃdivasameva so paṇṇāsaratanakkhandho hutvā abbhuggato, sākhāpissa paṇṇāsaratanamattāva. So dibbehi gandhehi pupphehi sañchanno ahosi. Na kevalaṃ puppheheva, phalehipi sañchanno ahosi. Tassa ekapassato taruṇāni phalāni ekato majjhimāni ekato nātipakkāni ekato pakkhittadibbojāni viya surasāni vaṇṇagandharasasampannāni tato tato olambanti. Yathā ca so , evaṃ dasasahassicakkavāḷesu pupphūpagā rukkhā pupphehi phalūpagā rukkhā phalehi paṭimaṇḍitā ahesuṃ.
悉喜佛见到了四大象,即舍利、法轮、白象、莲华。诸多欲界天女因他而感欢喜,生下一子,手持象牙杖,具大力,出家剃除头发。随后,七千万在家男子跟随出家。他在八个月间专心修行,至维萨克满月日,放弃所有人民间杂务,与亲近子女并居于苏旦那林,享用蜜饭粥,昼夜修习于青柯树林,接受那摩陀身那比施予的八片苦蒂皮。由此走向觉悟,至莲华树得大觉。该莲华树大小与布剌梨量相当。在同一日,佛成满五十岁,身形雄伟如大宝塔,光彩照耀。佛身周满布芳香花朵与诸多果实,这些花果大小不一,色泽芬芳美丽,飘于左右。正如许多千环莲花农田中,树木因花和果而遍布一样。
So tattha catuvīsatihatthavitthataṃ tiṇasantharaṃ santharitvā pallaṅkaṃ ābhujitvā caturaṅgavīriyaṃ adhiṭṭhāya nisīdi. Evaṃ nisīditvā chattiṃsa yojanavitthataṃ samāraṃ mārabalaṃ vidhamitvā sambodhiṃ pāpuṇitvā – ‘‘anekajātisaṃsāraṃ…pe… taṇhānaṃ khayamajjhagā’’ti udānaṃ udānetvā bodhisamīpeyeva sattasattāhaṃ vītināmetvā brahmāyācanaṃ sampaṭicchitvā attanā saha pabbajitānaṃ sattatiyā bhikkhusatasahassānaṃ upanissayasampattiṃ disvā surapathena gantvā vividhāvaraṇavatiyā aruṇavatiyā rājadhāniyā samīpe migājinuyyāne otaritvā tehi munigaṇehi parivuto tesaṃ majjhe dhammacakkaṃ pavattesi. Tadā koṭisatasahassānaṃ paṭhamo abhisamayo ahosi. Tena vuttaṃ –
佛在此时清理了二十四肘长的干草,铺成床,盘腿端坐,注入四无量力,灭除魔力,证得无上正觉。于是以自觉自悟之力,宣说悟语“无数生命轮回……渴爱灭尽正中行”,连诵七七天(四十九日),得到梵天请愿,表彰并宣示诸比库中七十万人的教法成就。他随后向天界庄严天路而行,穿过多重阻碍,接近阿卢那城郊的猎户园,环绕诸比库群,随即转动法轮。此时,第一群百千万众的皈依者得度。佛因此开示曰:

‘‘Vipassissa aparena, sambuddho dvipaduttamo;
“毗婆尸佛之后,再来佛为二足至尊。”
Sikhivhayo āsi jino, asamo appaṭipuggalo.
悉喜者,是圣者,觉悟者,不可比拟独特之人。

‘‘Mārasenaṃ pamadditvā, patto sambodhimuttamaṃ;
“不因魔王妄为放逸,获得最高的觉悟。”
Dhammacakkaṃ pavattesi, anukampāya pāṇinaṃ.
觉者初转法轮,是为众生慈愍。

‘‘Dhammacakkaṃ pavattente, sikhimhi jinapuṅgave;
当时初转法轮,贤劫尊者为首;
Koṭisatasahassānaṃ, paṭhamābhisamayo ahū’’ti.
亿亿千万众生,得闻此为初转。
Punapi aruṇavatiyā rājadhāniyā samīpeyeva abhibhūrājaputtassa ca sambhavarājaputtassa cāti dvinnaṃ saparivārānaṃ dhammaṃ desetvā navutikoṭisahassāni dhammāmataṃ pāyesi. So dutiyo abhisamayo ahosi. Tena vuttaṃ –
又于曙光王城附近,称为尊贵与尊荣之两王子,携众随从广为宣说佛法,开演法义,积集了九千万亿法味。这是第二次法轮的开转。由此说法曰——

‘‘Aparampi dhammaṃ desente, gaṇaseṭṭhe naruttame;
“后当转法者,诸族上首,人间至善;
Navuttikoṭisahassānaṃ, dutiyābhisamayo ahū’’ti.
九千万亿法味,第二次转已成。”
Yadā pana sūriyavatīnagaradvāre campakarukkhamūle titthiyamadamānabhañjanatthaṃ sabbajanabandhanamokkhatthañca yamakapāṭihāriyaṃ karonto bhagavā dhammaṃ desesi , tadā asītikoṭisahassānaṃ tatiyo abhisamayo ahosi. Tena vuttaṃ –
当时,世尊在日光普照之城门外的杜鹃树根下,为了破除彼岸的傲慢与我执,解脱一切生死众生的羁绊,显现神奇护法的神力而宣说法义。彼时,第三次八千万众的大集会果然成立。对此曾有云――

‘‘Yamakapāṭihāriyañca , dassayante sadevake;
『这就是护持法义的神奇,正显现在众圣弟子中;
Asītikoṭisahassānaṃ, tatiyābhisamayo ahū’’ti.
第三次八千万众的大集会已然成立。』
Abhibhunā ca sambhavena ca rājaputtena saddhiṃ pabbajitānaṃ arahantānaṃ satasahassānaṃ majjhe nisīditvā pātimokkhaṃ uddisi, so paṭhamo sannipāto ahosi, aruṇavatīnagare ñātisamāgame pabbajitānaṃ asītiyā bhikkhusahassānaṃ majjhe nisīditvā pātimokkhaṃ uddisi, so dutiyo sannipāto ahosi. Dhanañjayanagare dhanapālakanāgavinayanasamaye pabbajitānaṃ sattatiyā bhikkhusahassānaṃ majjhe bhagavā pātimokkhaṃ uddisi, so tatiyo sannipāto ahosi. Tena vuttaṃ –
后来,具至尊力、具有威神的王子,与同出家之阿拉汉一百千众坐聚一处,宣说巴提摩卡戒律法,成为初次集会。继而,在曙红城的亲属大会上,于三十八千比库中宣说戒律,成第二次集会。再后,在财富主统辖的都城,三十七千比库中,世尊宣说巴提摩卡戒律,成为第三次集会。对此有云――

‘‘Sannipātā tayo āsuṃ, sikhissāpi mahesino;
『三次集会皆已成就,连尊者希腊悉都也将论习;
Khīṇāsavānaṃ vimalānaṃ, santacittāna tādinaṃ.
断除烦恼而清净者,心宁静者,皆从此诞生。』

‘‘Bhikkhusatasahassānaṃ, paṭhamo āsi samāgamo;
『比库一千众』,这是第一次集会;
Asītibhikkhusahassānaṃ, dutiyo āsi samāgamo.
『比库七千众』,这是第二次集会。

‘‘Sattatibhikkhusahassānaṃ , tatiyo āsi samāgamo;
『比库七千众』,这是第三次集会;
Anupalitto padumaṃva, toyamhi sampavaḍḍhita’’nti.
未见开花的莲花,如同水中增长的水生态』,意指未出现的莲花就像水中滋生的水生物一样增长。
Tattha anupalitto padumaṃvāti toye jātaṃ toyeva vaḍḍhitaṃ padumaṃ viya toyena anupalittaṃ, sopi bhikkhusannipāto loke jātopi lokadhammehi anupalitto ahosīti attho.
其中『未见开花的莲花』意为莲花尚未绽放,其成长仅限于水中水生的状态。此理适用于比库集合体,集合体虽生于世间事相,实则尚未显现完整之法门。
Tadā kira amhākaṃ bodhisatto katthaci asaṃsaṭṭho paribhuttanagare arindamo nāma rājā hutvā sikhimhi satthari paribhuttanagaramanuppatte saparivāro rājā bhagavato paccuggantvā pasādavaḍḍhitahadayanayanasoto dasabalassa amalacaraṇakamalayugaḷesu saparivāro sirasā abhivanditvā dasabalaṃ nimantetvā sattāhaṃ issariyakulavibhavasaddhānurūpaṃ mahādānaṃ datvā dussabhaṇḍāgāradvārāni vivarāpetvā buddhappamukhassa bhikkhusaṅghassa mahagghāni vatthāni adāsi. Attano ca balarūpalakkhaṇajavasampannahemajālamālāsamalaṅkataṃ navakanakaruciradaṇḍakosacāmarayugavirājitaṃ vipulamudukaṇṇaṃ candarājivirājitavadanasobhaṃ erāvaṇavāraṇamiva arivāraṇaṃ varavāraṇaṃ datvā vāraṇappamāṇameva katvā kappiyabhaṇḍañca adāsi. Sopi naṃ satthā – ‘‘ito ekattiṃsakappe buddho bhavissatī’’ti byākāsi. Tena vuttaṃ –
当时,我等的菩萨在某处未被围困的帕礼王城中,名为阿林达摩王,率领王族随从,护持圣者的到来,令众心欢喜目耀,使其声望如十力之坚固,行止无垢,双双光洁如莲花。王族连同随从,顶礼圣者并邀请其十力尊者持续七周,依照尊者世间威仪及尊盛的王族财富,给予丰厚赠与。开释恶鬼宝库之门,并献上衣物赡养佛陀及比库众僧。王者以自身威力与相貌,如赤铜色摇曳之锦网装饰,佩戴新生宝剑、旌旗及战甲,面容光明如月王,犹如降魔的防护,是保护者也是加持者。王者授予一切恩赐与守护,称此封印即为安全限制,同时授予净食法器。圣者告知:『三十二劫后将当佛。』据此说明:

‘‘Ahaṃ tena samayena, arindamo nāma khattiyo;
『我』昔时,有一位名为阿林达摩的士族男子,
Sambuddhappamukhaṃ saṅghaṃ, annapānena tappayiṃ.
在如来面前供养僧团,使其不乏食饮。

‘‘Bahuṃ dussavaraṃ datvā, dussakoṭiṃ anappakaṃ;
施予大量难得的良马,多至千千万万匹,且无一缺少粮食,
Alaṅkataṃ hatthiyānaṃ, sambuddhassa adāsahaṃ.
为供养如来而装饰这些象马。

‘‘Hatthiyānaṃ nimminitvā, kappiyaṃ upanāmayiṃ;
驱遣象马,供养合宜;
Pūrayiṃ mānasaṃ mayhaṃ, niccaṃ daḷhamupaṭṭhitaṃ.
日日坚固维护我的心,常令其坚定不移。

‘‘Sopi maṃ buddho byākāsi, sikhī lokagganāyako;
「彼亦如我,世尊如是宣说,乃为世人之导师;
Ekattiṃse ito kappe, ayaṃ buddho bhavissati.
未来第九十三劫,有此佛陀当出世。」

‘‘Ahu kapilavhayā rammā…pe… hessāma sammukhā imaṃ.
「在迦毗罗卫城有清净欢娱之地……于彼我必亲现眼前。」

‘‘Tassāhaṃ vacanaṃ sutvā, bhiyyo cittaṃ pasādayiṃ;
「闻其语后,我心更觉安悦;
Uttariṃ vatamadhiṭṭhāsiṃ, dasapāramipūriyā’’ti.
更生奋发,坚守正法至十波罗蜜满具。」
Tattha nimminitvāti tassa hatthino pamāṇena tulayitvā. Kappiyanti kappiyabhaṇḍaṃ, bhikkhūnaṃ yaṃ bhaṇḍaṃ kappati gahetuṃ, taṃ kappiyabhaṇḍaṃ nāma. Pūrayiṃ mānasaṃ mayhanti mama cittaṃ dānapītiyā pūrayiṃ, mayhaṃ hāsuppādanasamatthaṃ akāsinti attho. Niccaṃ daḷhamupaṭṭhitanti niccakālaṃ dānaṃ dassāmī’’ti dānavasena daḷhaṃ upaṭṭhitaṃ cittanti attho.
其义谓「如手掌之大小称之为量。比库所持器皿,谓能受持供养之器为合法器皿。心中充满,吾心称为供养——充盈心者,谓以给予善法充盈之意。此意云:常恒恭敬供养,心坚固不动。」
Tassa pana bhagavato nagaraṃ aruṇavatī nāma ahosi. Aruṇavā nāma rājā pitā, pabhāvatī nāma mātā, abhibhū ca sambhavo ca dve aggasāvakā, khemaṅkaro nāmupaṭṭhāko, sakhilā ca madumā ca dve aggasāvikā, puṇḍarīkarukkho bodhi, sarīrañcassa sattatihatthubbedhaṃ ahosi . Sarīrappabhā niccakālaṃ yojanattayaṃ pharitvā aṭṭhāsi. Sattativassasahassāni āyu, sabbakāmā nāmassa aggamahesī, atulo nāmassa putto, hatthiyānena nikkhami. Tena vuttaṃ –
然世尊所居之城名曰阿入那伐缇。阿入那伐者,王名其父;婆婆瓦缇者,母名。阿毗佛与桑波为两大首徒;迦摩迦罗为护持者;沙迦拉与摩都摩为二大首尼。佛菩提树为楼阁,其身长达七十掌辟,他身光耀,昼夜常绕行约十余由旬。寿命达七十三万岁,名为皆愿第一女王;其子名为无比,乘象出世。由此说曰——

‘‘Nagaraṃ aruṇavatī nāma, aruṇo nāma khattiyo;
『城名阿入那伐缇,阿入那伐者为勇士,』
Pabhāvatī nāma janikā, sikhissāpi mahesino.
『婆婆瓦缇为母,亦为大王师承弟子。』

‘‘Abhibhū sambhavo ceva, ahesuṃ aggasāvakā;
『阿毗佛与桑波亦为两大首徒,』
Khemaṅkaro nāmupaṭṭhāko, sikhissāpi mahesino.
『迦摩迦罗名护持者,也是大王师承弟子。』

‘‘Sakhilā ca padumā ca, ahesuṃ aggasāvikā;
『沙迦拉与摩都摩,俱为大首尼。』
Bodhi tassa bhagavato, puṇḍarīkoti vuccati.
世尊之觉悟,被称为莲花般纯净。

‘‘Sirivaḍḍho ca nando ca, ahesuṃ aggupaṭṭhakā;
『斯里瓦达与难德,为最胜侍奉者;』
Cittā ceva suguttā ca, ahesuṃ aggupaṭṭhikā.
心志清净而善巧,亦曾为最高守护者。

‘‘Uccattanena so buddho, sattatihatthamuggato;
“他高贵伟大,即佛陀,自七十七岁已超越世间;
Kañcanagghiyasaṅkāso, dvattiṃsavaralakkhaṇo.
身披黄金鳞甲,具三十二相。

‘‘Tassāpi byāmappabhā kāyā, divārattiṃ nirantaraṃ;
“其身体呈灰褐色,昼夜恒常不变;
Disodisaṃ niccharanti, tīṇi yojanaso pabhā.
明亮的光辉射出,如三由旬之光。

‘‘Sattativassasahassāni, āyu tassa mahesino;
『此伟者寿命长达七万岁;
Tāvatā tiṭṭhamāno so, tāresi janataṃ bahuṃ.
他就这样停留,渡化众多大众。

‘‘Dhammameghaṃ pavassetvā, temayitvā sadevake;
『布施法雨之云,普降于众天人;
Khemantaṃ pāpayitvāna, nibbuto so sasāvako.
安住寂灭之境,灭度而后身不还。

‘‘Anubyañjanasampannaṃ, dvattiṃsavaralakkhaṇaṃ;
『具善特征,具有三十二相;
Sabbaṃ tamantarahitaṃ, nanu rittā sabbasaṅkhārā’’ti.
『一切』者,指无内在杂染;『实为空一切行』者,意谓所有行法皆为空无自性。
Tattha puṇḍarīkoti setambarukkho. Tīṇi yojanaso pabhāti tīṇi yojanāni pabhā niccharantīti attho. Dhammameghanti dhammavassaṃ, dhammavassanako buddhamegho. Temayitvāti dhammakathāsalilena temetvā, siñcitvāti attho. Sadevaketi sadevake satte. Khemantanti khemantaṃ nibbānaṃ . Anubyañjanasampannanti tambanakhatuṅganāsavaṭṭaṅgulitādīhi asītiyā anubyañjanehi sampannaṃ, dvattiṃsamahāpurisalakkhaṇapaṭimaṇḍitaṃ bhagavato sarīranti attho. Sikhī kira sammāsambuddho sīlavatīnagare assārāme parinibbāyi.
其中『白莲』者,指白衣树。『三由旬』者,云光照三由旬,亦云三由旬向下放光,此为义。『法云』者,意为法雨或法雨季,『法雨者』即如佛法雨,佛如法云。『令其如是』者,意谓以法语润泽。如是灌溉之意。『僧众』者,示众生之总称。『安稳』者,指安稳涅槃。『具无余染』者,谓以无余染之痕迹,如爪甲、角、舌、指头等杂染痕迹为证,故称具无余染。此意谓谓佛身具无余染,具二十三大丈夫相庄严。『圣者如是安住于行持清净之城』者,意为释迦佛在净土圆满涅槃。
‘‘Sikhīva loke tapasā jalitvā, sikhīva meghāgamane naditvā;
『如火苗燃燃者如世间的火焰燃烧』,『如云往来者如云行于天空之间』。
Sikhī mahesindhanavippahīno, sikhīva santiṃ sugato gato so’’.
『如火焰断尽者是火焰已熄灭』,『如世尊入安宁者是世尊圆寂』。
Sikhissa kira bhagavato dhātuyo ekagghanāva hutvā aṭṭhaṃsu na vippakiriṃsu. Sakalajambudīpavāsino pana manussā tiyojanubbedhaṃ sattaratanamayaṃ himagirisadisasobhaṃ thūpamakaṃsu. Sesamettha gāthāsu pākaṭamevāti.
『火焰佛法的法身』者,指佛弟子之诸法,虽如火焰起灭而不离本性。八法不起变化。恒住如实义。『整个朱毗洲』者,指整洲众生。『人类』者,指朱毗洲三由旬内众生。『七宝所成』者,意谓佛塔由七宝庄严。『雪山与灯火辉煌之塔』者,指华严庄严的佛塔。『于此已明了在赞歌』云,表明经中颂歌所明示。
