14. Sujātabuddhavaṃsavaṇṇanā十四、善生佛种姓注释
Tato tassāparabhāge tasmiṃyeva maṇḍakappe anupubbena aparimitāyukesu sattesu anukkamena parihāyitvā navutivassasahassāyukesu jātesu sujātarūpakāyo parisuddhajāto sujāto nāma satthā loke udapādi. Sopi pāramiyo pūretvā tusitapure nibbattitvā tato cavitvā sumaṅgalanagare uggatassa nāma rañño kule pabhāvatiyā nāma aggamahesiyā kucchismiṃ paṭisandhiṃ gahetvā dasannaṃ māsānaṃ accayena mātukucchito nikkhami. Nāmaggahaṇadivase cassa nāmaṃ karonto sakalajambudīpe sabbasattānaṃ sukhaṃ janayanto jātoti ‘‘sujāto’’ tvevassa nāmamakaṃsu. So navavassasahassāni agāraṃ ajjhāvasi. Sirī upasirī sirinando cāti tassa tayo pāsādā ahesuṃ. Sirīnandādevippamukhāni tevīsati itthisahassāni paccupaṭṭhitāni ahesuṃ.
之后在那段时间的末期,即在那个宝瓶纪年限,依次随着那些无量寿命众生的消逝,而诞生了寿命九万年者——称为寿命美妙形体,清净而生,世上称之为尊者。尊者圆满了彼岸,现于忉利天宫,之后降生于此世,出身于一位名叫乌伐阇提耶的国王族中,其王后名叫波陀悉昙。尊者在腹中受孕,十个月后于母胎之中娩出。于出生日赐名为须迦跋陀。此名被遍布整个犍陀罗洲,令所有众生皆获安乐而称颂。尊者居于无屋之处共九万年。其造有三座宫殿,名为荣、吉祥及荣喜,宫中由三万三千名侍女服侍。
So cattāri nimittāni disvā sirīnandādeviyā upasene nāma putte uppanne haṃsavahaṃ nāma varaturaṅgamāruyha mahābhinikkhamanaṃ nikkhamitvā pabbaji. Taṃ pana pabbajantaṃ manussānaṃ koṭi anupabbaji. Atha so tehi parivuto nava māse padhānacariyaṃ caritvā visākhapuṇṇamāya sirīnandananagare sirīnandanaseṭṭhissa dhītāya dinnaṃ paramamadhuraṃ madhupāyāsaṃ paribhuñjitvā sālavane divāvihāraṃ vītināmetvā sāyanhasamaye sunandājīvakena dinnā aṭṭha tiṇamuṭṭhiyo gahetvā veḷubodhiṃ upasaṅkamitvā tettiṃsahatthavitthataṃ tiṇasantharaṃ santharitvā sūriye dharamāneyeva samāraṃ mārabalaṃ vidhamitvā sammāsambodhiṃ paṭivijjhitvā sabbabuddhānuciṇṇaṃ udānaṃ udānetvā sattasattāhaṃ bodhisamīpeyeva vītināmetvā brahmunā āyācito attano kaniṭṭhabhātikaṃ sudassanakumāraṃ purohitaputtaṃ devakumārañca catusaccadhammapaṭivedhasamatthe disvā ākāsena gantvā sumaṅgalanagarasamīpe sumaṅgaluyyāne otaritvā uyyānapālena attano bhātikaṃ sudassanakumāraṃ purohitaputtaṃ devakumārañca pakkosāpetvā tesaṃ saparivārānaṃ majjhe nisinno dhammacakkaṃ pavattesi. Tattha asītiyā koṭīnaṃ dhammābhisamayo ahosi. Ayaṃ paṭhamābhisamayo ahosi.
尊者于某日见到四种征象,荣喜天后,名为尸利难陀的公主生下一子,名为鹤启者。此子在鹤背上骑乘,如众所知,于一大清晨出家。由此开始,有亿万人类未曾出家。其后尊者被三人陪同,围绕度过九个月勤修精进之行。在维萨卡满月时节,居于尸利难陀城,尸利难陀城主之女赠送尊者极为甘美的蜜乳粥。尊者常于舍利笈那森林昼夜修行,名为绮窗林。每到黄昏时分,得饮食由善智医师雪拿所赐,携带八捆麦草,来到菩提树下。修筑一处长约三十三尺的草席,犹如太阳临落刺破魔力膜障,于是圆满正觉。已证诸佛法,发出讴歌声,声闻七十七天,常与菩提处亲近修持。由梵天祈请,示现自身最幼弟子苏陀山那及其化身子弟,见证具足四圣谛真谛,随即驾空而至善利城附近之善利园,经园丁引领,坐于其间,众弟子环绕,转动法轮。此时法轮转动持久,昭示八千亿真法。此为首次法轮初转。
Yadā pana bhagavā sudassanuyyānadvāre mahāsālamūle yamakapāṭihāriyaṃ katvā devesu tāvatiṃsesu vassāvāsaṃ upāgami, tadā sattattiṃsasatasahassānaṃ dhammābhisamayo ahosi. Ayaṃ dutiyo abhisamayo ahosi. Yadā pana sujāto dasabalo pitusantikaṃ agamāsi, tadā saṭṭhisatasahassānaṃ dhammābhisamayo ahosi. Ayaṃ tatiyo abhisamayo ahosi. Tena vuttaṃ –
当世尊在须萨兰园门廊柱根行大奇迹时,天众来此雨安居,于是有七千三百余亿真法出现,此为第二次法轮转动。尊者须迦跋陀达十岁时,往父族家中,故此有六千一百万真法显现,此为第三次法轮转动。故称曰——

“正是在宝瓶纪元,名为须迦跋陀之导师;
Sīhahanusabhakkhandho, appameyyo durāsado.
其特征如狮首牛躯,无比无敌,最难超越。

‘‘Candova vimalo buddho, sataraṃsīva patāpavā;
“月光纯净佛,宛若七宝光辉,盛世之时如烈日当空;
Evaṃ sobhati sambuddho, jalanto siriyā sadā.
如是般涅槃,正觉者常以光明照耀,常以荣耀流转。

‘‘Pāpuṇitvāna sambuddho, kevalaṃ bodhimuttamaṃ;
正觉者于菩提最上正觉圆满时已达成,
Sumaṅgalamhi nagare, dhammacakkaṃ pavattayi.
在吉祥之城中转动圣法之轮。

‘‘Desente pavaraṃ dhammaṃ, sujāte lokanāyake;
宣说尊贵的法,善出生世间之引导者;
Asītikoṭī abhisamiṃsu, paṭhame dhammadesane.
无量千万天众皆聚集,初次闻法时齐集。

‘‘Yadā sujāto amitayaso, deve vassaṃ upāgami;
当善出生者极盛威德时,天众纷纷集会来降临;
Sattattiṃsasatasahassānaṃ, dutiyābhisamayo ahu.
第二次聚会时,有七万三千人。

‘‘Yadā sujāto asamasamo, upagacchi pitusantikaṃ;
“当苏叉陀不相等地,前往父处侍奉时;
Saṭṭhisatasahassānaṃ, tatiyābhisamayo ahū’’ti.
有六万人,成为第三次聚会。”
Tattha tattheva maṇḍakappamhīti yasmiṃ maṇḍakappe sumedho bhagavā uppanno, tattheva kappe sujātopi bhagavā uppannoti attho. Sīhahanūti sīhassa viya hanu assāti sīhahanu. Sīhassa pana heṭṭhimahanumeva puṇṇaṃ hoti, na uparimaṃ. Assa pana mahāpurisassa sīhassa heṭṭhimahanu viya dvepi paripuṇṇāni dvādasiyaṃ pakkhassa candasadisāni honti. Tena vuttaṃ ‘‘sīhahanū’’ti. Usabhakkhandhoti usabhasseva samappavaṭṭakkhandho, suvaṭṭitasuvaṇṇāliṅgasadisakkhandhoti attho. Sataraṃsīvāti divasakaro viya. Siriyāti buddhasiriyā. Bodhimuttamanti uttamaṃ sambodhiṃ.
此中“马难答迦劫”指的是,在此劫中,智者世尊出现,正以此义说苏叉陀佛亦于此劫出现。‘狮喉’谓如狮口之喉。狮之下颌宽大充满,而非上方。喉部如伟大人之狮下颌,二者完全丰满,像十二翼月一般,因此称“狮喉”。“牛体”如牛身之宽展,色泽金黄且有祥相。“三十年”比喻为如日之光明。“誉”即佛之吉祥光辉。“顶圣觉”为最高觉悟。
Sudhammavatīnagare sudhammuyyāne āgatānaṃ manussānaṃ dhammaṃ desetvā saṭṭhisatasahassāni ehibhikkhubhāvena pabbājetvā tesaṃ majjhe pātimokkhaṃ uddisi, so paṭhamo sannipāto ahosi. Tato paraṃ tidivorohaṇe bhagavato paññāsasatasahassānaṃ dutiyo sannipāto ahosi. Puna ‘‘sudassanakumāro bhagavato santike pabbajitvā arahattaṃ patto’’ti sutvā ‘‘mayampi pabbajissāmā’’ti āgatāni cattāri purisasatasahassāni gahetvā sudassanatthero sujātaṃ narāsabhaṃ upasaṅkami. Tesaṃ bhagavā dhammaṃ desetvā ehibhikkhupabbajjāya pabbājetvā caturaṅgasamannāgate sannipāte pātimokkhaṃ uddisi, so tatiyo sannipāto ahosi. Tena vuttaṃ –
世尊在净法城净法园中,教化到来的人类,以此法为僧众作七万六千人出家,彼时宣讲巴提摩卡戒律,此为第一次集合。后来往彼岸之道,世尊有五万人,为第二次聚会。又闻“净信童子于世尊前出家成阿拉汉”,来者欲出家入道,携四万人,伟大长老苏达陀前往,称其为英勇之人。教诲法后,为在家出家比库作四分部仪式, 此为第三次集合。谓说——

‘‘Sannipātā tayo āsuṃ, sujātassa mahesino;
『有三次集会,属于大仙苏嘉德;』
Khīṇāsavānaṃ vimalānaṃ, santacittāna tādinaṃ.
『已除使者者』者,谓已净化心意,心境安乐如是之人。

‘‘Abhiññābalappattānaṃ, appattānaṃ bhavābhave;
『得神通力者』者,即得三明五通等神通之力,『未得者』者,谓未得神通力者。
Saṭṭhisatasahassāni, paṭhamaṃ sannipatiṃsu te.
六万余人,首聚会聚集于一处。

‘‘Punāparaṃ sannipāte, tidivorohaṇe jine;
复次于三十三天升天时,胜师与弟子再集。
Paññāsasatasahassānaṃ, dutiyo āsi samāgamo.
五万余人,共聚第二次。

‘‘Upasaṅkamanto narāsabhaṃ, sudassano aggasāvako;
接近人中之帅—即朗然明了、最尊贵之弟子。
Catūhi satasahassehi, sambuddhaṃ upasaṅkamī’’ti.
「有四十万众」前来围绕佛陀,这就是说「正觉者被接近」。
Tattha appattānanti bhavābhave asampattānanti attho. ‘‘Appavattā bhavābhave’’tipi pāṭho, soyevattho. Tidivorohaṇeti saggalokato otarante kattukārake daṭṭhabbo. Kārakavipallāsena vuttaṃ. Atha vā tidivorohaṇeti tidivato otaraṇe. Jineti jinassa, sāmiatthe bhummaṃ daṭṭhabbaṃ.
其中,「未得」意指未入有无之境,「未成」指未成就,三者文义相同。所谓「三日超越」应理解为超越三界天之事,由天界下来观察而见,此谓动作关系颠倒之说。亦有人译作「三日跨越」,即三日之内超越,须以「胜者」意解释「胜」。
Tadā kira amhākaṃ bodhisatto cakkavattirājā hutvā ‘‘buddho loke uppanno’’ti sutvā bhagavantaṃ upasaṅkamitvā dhammakathaṃ sutvā buddhappamukhassa bhikkhusaṅghassa sattahi ratanehi saddhiṃ catumahādīparajjaṃ datvā satthu santike pabbaji. Sakaladīpavāsino janā raṭṭhuppādaṃ gahetvā ārāmikakiccaṃ sādhetvā buddhappamukhassa saṅghassa niccaṃ mahādānamadaṃsu. Sopi naṃ satthā – ‘‘anāgate gotamo nāma buddho bhavissatī’’ti byākāsi. Tena vuttaṃ –
彼时,我等之菩提心者,成为轮王,从「世间觉者现起」之闻,前往世尊处,听讲佛法,随佛弟子修持七宝庄严,付与四弘誓戒,于佛前剃发出家。诸岛诸国民众,响应聚集,建城立国,完成寺院供养,常以大布施欢喜供养佛之僧伽。佛亦曾预言:「未来有一位名为迦多摩者将成佛。」因此说——

「于彼时,我乃四洲之尊主;
Antalikkhacaro āsiṃ, cakkavattī mahabbalo.
乃空行者,轮王威武广大;

‘‘Catudīpe mahārajjaṃ ratane satta uttame;
于四洲中,有七尊天子,拥七宝国。
Buddhe niyyātayitvāna, pabbajiṃ tassa santike.
于是遣使者到佛陀那里,出家于其近旁。

‘‘Ārāmikā janapade, uṭṭhānaṃ paṭipiṇḍiya;
在村落庄园中,起立整群;
Upanenti bhikkhusaṅghassa, paccayaṃ sayanāsanaṃ.
引导比库僧团,作为床铺住所的条件。

‘‘Sopi maṃ buddho byākāsi, dasasahassimhi issaro;
佛陀也对我说,这位世尊在一万世中为王;
Tiṃsakappasahassamhi, ayaṃ buddho bhavissati.
在三万劫中,这位佛陀将出现。

‘‘Padhānaṃ padahitvāna…pe… hessāma sammukhā imaṃ.
下定决心之后……将当面成为如是。

‘‘Tassāpi cavanaṃ sutvā, bhiyyo hāsaṃ janesahaṃ;
听闻彼经典之语,我所生起的欢喜更盛;
Adhiṭṭhahiṃ vataṃ uggaṃ, dasapāramipūriyā.
我确已见闻到超越之法,彻底充满十种彼岸功德;

‘‘Suttantaṃ vinayañcāpi, navaṅgaṃ satthusāsanaṃ;
我遍读经藏与律藏,悉知圣者之九部教法;
Sabbaṃ pariyāpuṇitvāna, sobhayiṃ jinasāsanaṃ.
既周遍而具足之后,令如来教法增显光明;

‘‘Tatthappamatto viharanto, brahmaṃ bhāvetva bhāvanaṃ;
我专心致志于此,而修习出世间之梵行;
Abhiññāpāramiṃ gantvā, brahmalokamagañchaha’’nti.
已达到超慧之彼岸,得以升入梵天之境界。
Tattha catudīpamhīti saparivāradīpānaṃ catunnaṃ mahādīpānanti attho. Antalikkhacaroti cakkaratanaṃ purakkhatvā ākāsacaro. Ratane sattāti hatthiratanādīni satta ratanāni. Uttameti uttamāni. Atha vā uttame buddheti attho daṭṭhabbo. Niyyātayitvānāti datvāna. Uṭṭhānanti raṭṭhuppādaṃ, āyanti attho. Paṭipiṇḍiyāti rāsiṃ katvā saṃkaḍḍhitvā. Paccayanti cīvarādivividhaṃ paccayaṃ. Dasasahassimhi issaroti dasasahassilokadhātuyaṃ issaro, tadetaṃ jātikkhettaṃ sandhāya vuttanti veditabbaṃ. Anantānaṃ lokadhātūnaṃ issaro bhagavā. Tiṃsakappasahassamhīti ito paṭṭhāya tiṃsakappasahassānaṃ matthaketi attho.
所谓四大洲者,即由四个被海环绕的广大洲所组成之意。彼洲有天上的、轮王的、天空游行者之意。七宝是指七种宝物,如象牙等七种宝。‘优越’意谓最佳之意。‘或谓最佳者是佛’,此理当知。‘分付’即给予之意。‘兴起’指诸国兴盛。‘聚合’为积聚之意。‘依止’指衣钵等多种依靠。十万者谓十万世界之主,此为出生地,应当知之。诸无量世界之主即世尊也。‘三千万世’者,于此作为三千万年之总数义。
Tassa pana sujātassa bhagavato sumaṅgalaṃ nāma nagaraṃ ahosi, uggato nāma rājā pitā, pabhāvatī nāma mātā, sudassano ca sudevo ca dve aggasāvakā, nārado nāmupaṭṭhāko, nāgā ca nāgasamālā ca dve aggasāvikā, mahāveḷurukkho bodhi, so kira mandacchiddo ghanakkhandho paramaramaṇīyo veḷuriyamaṇivaṇṇehi vimalehi pattehi sañchannavipulasākho mayūrapiñchakalāpo viya virocittha. Tassa pana bhagavato sarīraṃ paṇṇāsahatthubbedhaṃ ahosi, āyu navutivassasahassāni, sirīnandā nāmassa aggamahesī, upaseno nāma putto. Turaṅgavarayānena nikkhami. So pana candavatīnagare silārāme parinibbāyi. Tena vuttaṃ –
当时世尊名为苏伽陀,所居城市名为苏曼伽罗。父为乌迦陀王,母名为婆伐底。著名大弟子有苏达颂与苏提伐,护持者有那罗陀,主要女弟子为那迦及那迦莎摩罗。菩提树名为摩诃韦卢吒,乃蔽叶密实之树,树冠厚重,极为悦目,如披覆宝石般光洁璀璨,枝叶广大如孔雀开屏般辉映。世尊身高五十肘余,寿命九万岁,妻名为室利难陀,子名乌波色那。乘马车远行,至月城石林园而入灭。据此说曰——

‘‘Sumaṅgalaṃ nāma nagaraṃ, uggato nāma khattiyo;
『城市名苏曼伽罗,族人为乌迦陀;』
Mātā pabhāvatī nāma, sujātassa mahesino.
『母亲名婆伐底,属高贵苏伽陀王;』

‘‘Sudassano sudevo ca, ahesuṃ aggasāvakā;
『苏达颂与苏提伐,皆为著名大弟子;』
Nārado nāmupaṭṭhāko, sujātassa mahesino.
『那罗陀名护持者,属高贵苏伽陀王。』

‘‘Nāgo ca nāgasamālā ca, ahesuṃ aggasāvikā;
『龙』及『龙珠』都是前首领比库;
Bodhi tassa bhagavato, mahāveḷūti vuccati.
那位世尊的觉悟被称为大宝剑。

‘‘So ca rukkho ghanakkhandho, acchiddo hoti pattiko;
那树是浓密的树干,无断裂且牢固;
Uju vaṃso brahā hoti, dassanīyo manoramo.
其竹节笔直完好,清晰可见,令人赏心悦目。

‘‘Ekakkhandho pavaḍḍhitvā, tato sākhā pabhijjati;
单根整体增长,然后分枝生出;
Yathā subaddho morahattho, evaṃ sobhati so dumo.
就像训练有素的孔雀那般,这树枝也同样光彩耀人。

‘‘Na tassa kaṇṭakā honti, nāpi chiddaṃ mahā ahu;
『那比库无刺矣,亦无大断裂;』
Vitthiṇṇasākho aviralo, sandacchāyo manoramo.
『断枝不罕见,遮阴甚可爱。』

‘‘Paññāsaratano āsi, uccattanena so jino;
『佛陀如五十珍宝,身高卓绝;』
Sabbākāravarūpeto, sabbaguṇamupāgato.
『全具一切形相,满载诸种美德。』

‘‘Tassa pabhā asamasamā, niddhāvati samantato;
『其光辉无可等比,遍照四方;』
Appamāṇo atuliyo, opammehi anūpamo.
『广大无匹,难以相比。』

‘‘Navutivassasahassāni, āyu vijjati tāvade;
「九万年余的寿命存在那时,
Tāvatā tiṭṭhamāno so, tāresi janataṃ bahuṃ.
他站立于此,拯救众多人民。」

‘‘Yathāpi sāgare ūmī, gagane tārakā yathā;
「犹如大海之水,天空中星辰一般,
Evaṃ tadā pāvacanaṃ, arahantehi cittitaṃ.
当时的教法也是如此,由阿拉汉们内心缔结成就。」

‘‘So ca buddho asamasamo, guṇāni ca tāni atuliyāni;
「而且世尊无可比拟,他的资质才德没有可匹敌者,
Sabbaṃ tamantarahitaṃ, nanu rittā sabbasaṅkhārā’’ti.
诸法无一能染碍他,诸行全然空寂。」
Tattha acchiddoti appacchiddo. ‘‘Anudarā kaññā’’tiādīsu viya daṭṭhabbaṃ. Keci ‘‘chiddaṃ hoti parittaka’’nti paṭhanti. Pattikoti bahupatto, kācamaṇivaṇṇehi pattehi sañchannoti attho. Ujūti avaṅko akuṭilo. Vaṃsoti veḷu. Brahāti samantato mahā. Ekakkhandhoti avaniruho eko adutiyo cāti attho. Pavaḍḍhitvāti vaḍḍhitvā. Tato sākhā pabhijjatīti tato vaṃsaggato pañcavidhā sākhā nikkhamitvā pabhijjittha. ‘‘Tato sākhā pabhijjathā’’tipi pāṭho. Subaddhoti suṭṭhu pañcabandhanākārena baddho. Morahatthoti ātapasannivāraṇatthaṃ kato baddho morapiñchakalāpo vuccati.
「无缺」者,即少有缺损之义。犹如「腰细之女」等句中所见之用法。有些人读作「缺损者为小节」。「多叶」者,即叶片繁多,以色如玻璃宝石之叶片遍覆,此其义也。「直」者,不弯不曲。「竹」者,即竹竿。「广大」者,四方皆大。「单茎」者,即独立无旁株、唯一无伴侣,此其义也。「既长大」者,即生长之后。「从彼枝桠分出」者,即从彼竹梢出生五种枝桠而分散。另有读作「从彼枝桠分散」者。「善系」者,即以五种绑扎之相而系结牢固。「孔雀杖」者,为遮蔽热气而制作绑缚的孔雀翎束,即此之谓。
Na tassa kaṇṭakā hontīti tassa vaṃsassa kaṇṭakinopi rukkhassa kaṇṭakā nāhesuṃ. Aviraloti aviralasākhāsañchanno. Sandacchāyoti ghanacchāyo, aviralattāva sandacchāyoti vutto. Paññāsaratano āsīti paññāsahattho ahosi. Sabbākāravarūpetoti sabbena ākārena varehiyeva upeto sabbākāravarūpeto nāma. Sabbaguṇamupāgatoti anantarapadasseva vevacanamattaṃ.
「彼无刺」者,即彼竹树虽有刺树之属,亦无刺也。「密布」者,即被密集枝桠所遮覆。「浓阴」者,即阴翳深密;正因密布,故称浓阴。「高达五十肘」者,即高五十腕尺。「具足一切殊胜形色」者,以一切方式皆具备殊胜者,名为「具足一切殊胜形色」。「达至一切功德」者,仅是前一词语的同义语而已。
Appamāṇoti pamāṇarahito, pamāṇaṃ gahetuṃ asakkuṇeyyattā vā appamāṇo. Atuliyoti atulo, kenaci asadisoti attho. Opammehīti upamitabbehi. Anūpamoti upamārahito, ‘‘iminā ca iminā ca sadiso’’ti vattuṃ asakkuṇeyyabhāvato anūpamoti attho. Guṇānica tānīti guṇā ca te, sabbaññutaññāṇādayo guṇāti attho. Liṅgavipallāsena vuttaṃ. Sesaṃ sabbattha uttānatthamevāti.
「无量」者,即超越量度,或因无从测量故称无量。「无与伦比」者,即无匹,谓与任何事物皆无相似,此其义也。「以比喻」者,即以可作比较之事物。「无可比拟」者,即无可譬喻,因无法说「与此与彼相似」,故称无可比拟,此其义也。「而彼等功德」者,即「功德」与「彼等」合言,谓一切智之智等诸功德,此其义也。此乃以性数错配之方式表达。其余各处皆为义理显明,不须另释。
