26. Thomakavaggo第二十六 托玛咖品
1-10. Thomakattheraapadānādivaṇṇanā一至十、托玛咖长老譬喻等之解释

第三十六品中第一项为正高品。
§5-6
5-6. Dutiyāpadāne vijahitvā devavaṇṇanti devatā sarīraṃ vijahitvā chaḍḍetvā, manussasarīraṃ nimminitvāti attho. Adhikāraṃ kattukāmoti adhikakiriyaṃ puññasambhāraṃ kattukāmo devaro nāma ahaṃ devarājā bhariyāya saha buddhaseṭṭhassa sāsane sādaratāya idha imasmiṃ manussaloke āgamiṃ āgatoti attho. Tassa bhikkhā mayā dinnāti padumuttarassa bhagavato yo nāmena devalo nāma sāvako ahosi, tassa sāvakassa mayā vippasannena cetasā bhikkhā dinnā piṇḍapāto dinnoti attho.
第五至第六项中,脱离神体意指脱离天人身体及舍弃之;人身则指受生于人间。此义是指为取得权能而修集更多功德者,称为天人。『我为天王,与妻共在』是指我依照世尊之教法,恭敬地来到此人间。此人受我供养,乃是给予世尊弟子莲华得陀比库那比库尼之供养;该弟子因心清净明朗,才接受此布施食部分。

9-10. Tatiyāpadāne ānando nāma sambuddhoti ānandaṃ tuṭṭhiṃ jananato ānando nāma paccekabuddhoti attho. Amanussamhi kānaneti amanussapariggahe kānane mahāaraññe parinibbāyi anupādisesanibbānadhātuyā antaradhāyi, adassanaṃ agamāsīti attho. Sarīraṃ tattha jhāpesinti ahaṃ devalokā idhāgantvā tassa bhagavato sarīraṃ tattha araññe jhāpesiṃ dahanaṃ akāsinti attho.
第九至第十项中,阿难此名指觉悟者(即世尊之弟子)欢喜的含义;阿难亦有独觉者之义。『在人间荒野』指在人间森林中,已无贪著烦恼,成就无痕涅槃法,故消失不见。此中『身』谓世尊进入天界后,身体在此人间大林焚毁,表示身体已成无所有。

20. Chaṭṭhāpadāne ahosiṃ candano nāmāti nāmena paṇṇattivasena candano nāma. Sambuddhassatrajoti paccekasambuddhabhūtato pubbe tassa atrajo putto ahaṃ. Ekopāhano mayā dinnoti ekaṃ upāhanayugaṃ mayā dinnaṃ. Bodhiṃ sampajja me tuvanti tena upāhanayugena me mayhaṃ sāvakabodhiṃ tuvaṃ sampajja nipphādehīti attho.
第廿项中,我曾以名为檀香者供养。『名即习用名』,谓以名称为檀香,昔时我为一独觉者的子。『我曾予一供养对』意谓给予一个供养的配对。因我受此供养,才得道觉悟。此供养配对之恩催生了我的胜义觉悟,完成无漏涅槃。

23-24. Sattamāpadāne mañjarikaṃ karitvānāti mañjeṭṭhipupphaṃ haritacaṅkoṭakaṃ gahetvā rathiyaṃ vīthiyā paṭipajjiṃ ahaṃ tathā paṭipannova bhikkhusaṅghapurakkhataṃ bhikkhusaṅghena parivutaṃ samaṇānaggaṃ samaṇānaṃ bhikkhūnaṃ aggaṃ seṭṭhaṃ sammāsambuddhaṃ addasanti sambandho. Buddhassa abhiropayinti disvā ca pana taṃ pupphaṃ ubhohi hatthehi paggayha ukkhipitvā buddhassa phussassa bhagavato abhiropayiṃ pūjesinti attho.
第廿三至廿四项中,我曾制一净瓶花,即罕见之绿瓔珞花,拿持乘车街道行进。此时如我,受比库众尊敬护持,被喻为比库众之首,正觉至尊者也。诸众瞻仰佛陀,俯手持花双手举起,敬献于世尊足前,表示敬重侍奉。

28-29. Aṭṭhamāpadāne aloṇapaṇṇabhakkhomhīti khīrapaṇṇādīni uñchācariyāya āharitvā loṇavirahitāni paṇṇāni pacitvā bhakkhāmi, aloṇapaṇṇabhakkho amhi bhavāmīti attho. Niyamesu ca saṃvutoti niyamasaññitesu pāṇātipātāveramaṇiādīsu niccapañcasīlesu saṃvuto pihitoti attho. Pātarāse anuppatteti purebhattakāle anuppatte. Siddhattho upagacchi manti mama samīpaṃ siddhattho bhagavā upagañchi sampāpuṇi. Tāhaṃ buddhassa pādāsinti ahaṃ taṃ aloṇapaṇṇaṃ tassa buddhassa adāsinti attho.
第28-29章。在第八因缘中,有云“无盐叶食者”,意指以乳叶等制作奶叶等,用于放逸行为,采集无盐的叶子,将其煮熟后食用,称为无盐叶食者。这里“无盐叶食者”之义。又云“受持戒律”,指在戒律的限制下,受持五戒中的杀生戒等,持戒严谨称为受持,约束自我则称约束。“饮食不洁”则是形容以前在未出家时未遵守此戒律。释义中佛果钵罗尊者来临,赞叹说此人近我,我便给予此无盐叶,意含称我是世尊足下的无盐叶食者。

第九因缘仅为标题,内容同样明朗。
§37-38
37-38. Dasamāpadāne sikhinaṃ sikhinaṃ yathāti sarīrato nikkhantachabbaṇṇaraṃsīhi obhāsayantaṃ jalantaṃ sikhīnaṃ sikhībhagavantaṃ sikhīnaṃ yathā jalamānaaggikkhandhaṃ viya. Aggajaṃ pupphamādāyāti aggajanāmakaṃ pupphaṃ gahetvā buddhassa sikhissa bhagavato abhiropayiṃ pūjesinti attho.
第37-38章。在第十因缘中,称“发丝”,身体之发丝如同染色的腱筋,光泽湿润,犹如燃烧之水火焰之华。所谓“燃花”,即取名为燃花的花朵,手持此花献给佛足,涵义于以此花敬奉佛陀的发丝。
