Candaṃvavimalaṃ suddhantiādikaṃ āyasmato bandhujīvakattherassa apadānaṃ. Ayampāyasmā purimabuddhesu katādhikāro tattha tattha bhave vivaṭṭūpanissayāni puññāni upacinanto sikhissa bhagavato kāle kulagehe nibbatto viññutaṃ patto gharāvāsaṃ saṇṭhapetvā vasanto sikhissa bhagavato rūpakāyasampattiṃ disvā pasannamānaso bandhujīvakapupphāni gahetvā bhagavato pādamūle pūjesi. Bhagavā tassa cittappasādavaḍḍhanatthāya anumodanamakāsi. So yāvatāyutaṃ ṭhatvā teneva puññena devaloke nibbatto cha kāmāvacarasampattiyo anubhavitvā manussesu ca cakkavattiādisampattiyo anubhavitvā imassa amhākaṃ sammāsambuddhassa uppannakāle gahapatikule nibbatto rūpaggayasaggappatto satthu dhammadesanaṃ sutvā saddhājāto gehaṃ pahāya pabbajito arahattaṃ pāpuṇi.
月亮般光洁无瑕、清净庄严等意,记载于尊者般荼那·班朱吉瓦卡长老的本生传记中。此尊者曾于古佛时代担任重任,于各世中精进奉行善行,供养圣者,故于如来的时期,身居王族宅第安住,具足明达智慧得以安住居所。观察如来圣者的形相,心怀欢悦,挈取长者班朱吉瓦卡之花,敬奉在佛陀足下。世尊因其心地安稳而欢喜赞许。此后,他积累十万功德,乘善力得生天界,获得六欲天世间享受,并在人间体验转轮圣王等殊胜福报。于本尊觉醒之时,出生于豪贵世家,听闻佛陀的法义,生起信心,舍弃家业而出家,最终证得阿拉汉果。
§1
1. So pubbenivāsañāṇena pubbe katakusalakammaṃ anussaritvā somanassajāto pubbacaritāpadānaṃ pakāsento candaṃva vimalaṃ suddhantiādimāha. Tattha candaṃva vimalaṃ suddhanti abbhā, mahikā, dhumo, rajo, rāhūti imehi upakkilesamalehi vimuttaṃ candaṃ iva diyaḍḍhasahassupakkilesamalānaṃ pahīnattā vimalaṃ nikkilesattā suddhaṃ pasannaṃ sikhiṃ sambuddhanti sambandho. Kilesakaddamānaṃ abhāvena anāvilaṃ. Nandībhavasaṅkhātāya balavasnehāya parisamantato khīṇattā nandībhavaparikkhīṇaṃ. Tiṇṇaṃ loketi lokattayato tiṇṇaṃ uttiṇṇaṃ atikkantaṃ. Visattikanti visattikaṃ vuccati taṇhā, nittaṇhanti attho.
一、此尊者忆念前世经历,并回忆起昔日所行的善业,内心生起欢喜,现前呈现那些长老先祖的行为业报,即“月亮般光洁无瑕、清净庄严”等。所谓『月亮般光洁无瑕』,喻指去除了如暗云、尘埃、烟雾、污秽及天蚀等五种烦恼浊恶,如洁净明月于云层、尘埃俱灭之境,纯净而朗然,使得圣者光明清净。因除去染污之障,此清净毫无瑕苟,净明光亮。与此相伴生起欢悦及归依,完全消除了烦恼的黑暗。此欢喜生于坚固情感和柔和的情愫,和合圆满,最终告别了欢喜的根基如灯烛燃尽般,完成净化境界。“三界已尽”指脱离世间三界苦海,“已超越”乃指超越烦恼与轮回之意。『涤净』即断除渴爱之意。

2.Nibbāpayantaṃ janatanti dhammavassaṃ vassanto janataṃ janasamūhaṃ kilesapariḷāhābhāvena nibbāpayantaṃ vūpasamentaṃ. Sayaṃ saṃsārato tiṇṇaṃ, sabbasatte saṃsārato tārayantaṃ atikkamentaṃ catunnaṃ saccānaṃ munanato jānanato muniṃ sikhiṃ sambuddhanti sambandho. Vanasmiṃ jhāyamānanti ārammaṇūpanijjhānalakkhaṇūpanijjhānehi jhāyantaṃ cintentaṃ cittena bhāventaṃ vanamajjheti attho. Ekaggaṃ ekaggacittaṃ susamāhitaṃ suṭṭhu ārammaṇe āhitaṃ ṭhapitacittaṃ sikhiṃ muniṃ disvāti sambandho.
二、此长老为使大众得解脱,勤行法雨,教化众生,令众生群体因烦恼燃烧而得以安宁。其自身已超出轮回,渡脱一切众生,超越四圣谛苦集灭道的深义。此义涵盖于圣人智慧所得,即智者之学习关系。其意是于林中禅坐,以缘起念禅定等四念处禅修法,修习禅那、反观与思惟,身心入定。内心专注,安住觉知,无扰乱,深智稳定于所缘,见到圣者仪相,产生智慧见解与联系。

3.Bandhujīvakapupphānīti bandhūnaṃ ñātīnaṃ jīvakaṃ jīvitanissayaṃ hadayamaṃsalohitaṃ bandhujīvakaṃ hadayamaṃsalohitasamānavaṇṇaṃ pupphaṃ bandhujīvakapupphaṃ gahetvā sikhino lokabandhuno pūjesinti attho. Sesaṃ uttānatthamevāti.
三、『班朱吉瓦卡之花』,意指亲属、亲戚、生命情感和心脏血肉的象征。称为班朱吉瓦卡之花的花朵,色彩温润如同心脏的血肉色,因而以此花供养圣者,表示尊敬亲近与奉献。其用意即是赞誉亲属间的生命纽带与关怀。余后谕示此义理。

Parakammāyaneyuttotiādikaṃ āyasmato tambapupphiyattherassa apadānaṃ. Ayampi āyasmā purimabuddhesu katādhikāro tattha tattha bhave vivaṭṭūpanissayāni puññāni upacinanto piyadassissa bhagavato kāle kenaci pure katena akusalakammena duggatakule nibbatto vuddhippatto paresaṃ kammaṃ katvā bhatiyā jīvikaṃ kappesi. So evaṃ dukkhena vasanto paresaṃ aparādhaṃ katvā maraṇabhayena palāyitvā vanaṃ pāvisi. Tattha gataṭṭhāne pāṭalibodhiṃ disvā vanditvā sammajjitvā ekasmiṃ rukkhe tambavaṇṇaṃ pupphaṃ disvā taṃ sabbaṃ kaṇṇike ocinitvā bodhipūjaṃ akāsi. Tattha cittaṃ pasādetvā vanditvā pallaṅkamābhujitvā nisīdi. Tasmiṃ khaṇe te manussā padānupadikaṃ anubandhitvā tattha agamaṃsu. So te disvā bodhiṃ āvajjentova palāyitvā bhayānake gīriduggapapāte patitvā mari.
诸恶业作行等义,记于尊者滥巴朴希亚长老的本生记事中。此长老昔日曾担任古佛时期重任,因某世于过去用诸恶业,身受恶果,生于恶道中。后来因作恶转贪爱,生活痛苦,舍弃众生犯过迁徙于森林隐居。至于一处,见到波罗提波时树,恭敬礼拜佛陀,且观察一树开出的淡红色花朵,细心采摘,供奉以礼敬菩提尊者。心生欢喜,礼拜后安坐臥榻。此时,多名众生因其脚步声而聚集。见此菩提,怜悯起敬,然后因惧怕死亡,逃走跌落险峻山谷而死。

7. So bodhipūjāya anussaritattā teneva pītisomanassena tāvatiṃsādīsu upapanno cha kāmāvacarasampattiṃ anubhavitvā manussesu ca cakkavattiādisampattiṃ anubhavitvā imasmiṃ buddhuppāde vibhavasampanne kule nibbatto vuddhippatto satthu dhammadesanaṃ sutvā pasannamānaso pabbajitvā nacirasseva arahā hutvā attano pubbakammaṃ saritvā somanassajāto pubbacaritāpadānaṃ pakāsento parakammāyane yuttotiādimāha. Tattha paresaṃ kammāni parakammāni, parakammānaṃ āyane karaṇe vāhane dhāraṇe yutto yojito ahosinti attho. Sesaṃ pākaṭamevāti.
七、因忆念往昔敬礼菩提所做之供养善业,欢喜愉悦而诞生于忉利天等六欲天,享有天界与人间诸般殊胜福报。于本佛出世时,生于贵族之家,凭信心随喜听法,欢喜出家修行,不久成阿拉汉。乃依其前世善业,现现前生敬礼诸多善处故曰“诸恶业相关作行等义”。此处『他人之业』,意指他人所行的恶业;『于恶业之境界生存』,即受恶业牵引依附恶业存在之意。其教义明了而显露。

3. Vīthisammajjakattheraapadānavaṇṇanā3. 维提桑玛迦咖长老譬喻注释
Udentaṃsataraṃsiṃ vātiādikaṃ āyasmato vīthisammajjakattherassa apadānaṃ. Ayampi purimabuddhesu katādhikāro anekesu jātisatesu katapuññasañcayo sikhissa bhagavato kāle kulagehe nibbatto gharāvāsaṃ vasanto nagaravāsīhi saddhiṃ vīthiṃ sajjetvā nīyamānaṃ bhagavantaṃ disvā pasannamānaso vīthiṃ samaṃ katvā dhajaṃ tattha ussāpesi.
「起风的百丝帛」等功德事迹,是具寿长老维提沙漫加尊者的事迹。这位尊者在多劫前的佛陀时代,积累了无数世间的功德资粮。到了世尊果德玛灭度之时,居于家中隐居止息,过着安静的国都居住生活。他与城市居民一道,依照道路规则,端正调整道路,看到世尊后心生欢喜,便使道路平顺,在道路上竖起旗帜表示敬意。

15. So teneva puññena devamanussesu saṃsaranto ubhayasampattiyo anubhavitvā imasmiṃ buddhuppāde ekasmiṃ kule nibbatto viññutaṃ patvā satthu dhammadesanaṃ sutvā paṭiladdhasaddho bahumānahadayo pabbajitvā laddhūpasampado nacirasseva arahā hutvā attano pubbakammaṃ anussaranto paccakkhato jānitvā pubbacaritāpadānaṃ pakāsento udentaṃ sataraṃsiṃ vātiādimāha. Tattha udentaṃ uggacchantaṃ sataraṃsiṃ satapabhaṃ. Sataraṃsīti desanāsīsamattaṃ, anekasatasahassapabhaṃ sūriyaṃ ivāti attho. Pītaraṃsiṃva bhāṇumanti pītaraṃsiṃ saṃkucitapabhaṃ bhāṇumaṃ pabhāvantaṃ candamaṇḍalaṃ iva sambuddhaṃ disvāti attho. Sesaṃ suviññeyyamevāti.
其功德如是,因而在天人和人间之间轮回时,同时体验两种殊胜的果报。在此佛陀出世的时代,他再生在一个家族中,离去了无明。听闻佛陀所说法,坚信不疑,心怀敬重,随即出家禅修。很快地成就阿拉汉果德,觉知自身历世的善恶业因,显现前世行持的功德事迹,说唱「起风的百丝帛」等事。所谓「起风」是指旗帜飘扬,「百丝帛」是数量多达数百千的意思,如同太阳一般光明。又如黄色旗帜,黄色光辉皎洁,犹如月亮;此意旨在显示觉者威光。此中余义应当善加理解。

4. Kakkārupupphapūjakattheraapadānavaṇṇanā4. 供养咖咖鲁花长老譬喻注释
Devaputto ahaṃ santotiādikaṃ āyasmato kakkārupupphapūjakattherassa apadānaṃ. Ayampi purimabuddhesu katādhikāro tattha tattha bhave katapuññasañcayo sikhissa bhagavato kāle bhummaṭṭhakadevaputto hutvā nibbatto sikhiṃ sammāsambuddhaṃ disvā dibbakakkārupupphaṃ gahetvā pūjesi.
「我是天子」等事迹,是具寿长老卡卡卢布花供养尊者的事迹。这位尊者同样在多劫前的佛陀时代,积累了诸多功德资粮。到了世尊果德玛时代,他作为化身天子,现身世间。见到正自觉者,手持天花进行供养礼敬。
§21
21. So tena puññena devamanussesu saṃsaranto ekatiṃsakappabbhantare ubhayasukhaṃ anubhavitvā imasmiṃ buddhuppāde sāvatthiyaṃ kulagehe nibbatto vuddhimanvāya satthari pasanno pabbajitvā nacirasseva arahā hutvā attano pubbakammaṃ paccakkhato ñatvā somanassajāto pubbacaritāpadānaṃ pakāsento devaputto ahaṃ santotiādimāha. Tattha dibbanti kīḷanti pañcahi dibbehi kāmaguṇehīti devā, devānaṃ putto, devo eva vā putto devaputto, ahaṃ devaputto santo vijjamāno dibbaṃ kakkārupupphaṃ paggayha pakārena, gahetvā sikhissa bhagavato abhiropayiṃ pūjesinti attho. Sesaṃ uttānatthamevāti.
其功德亦如是,因而在三十一劫之间,在天人和人间轮回,享受双重安乐。在此佛陀出世时代,他生于舍卫城的名门世家,心志聪明,信乐师教,随即出家禅修,很快成就阿拉汉果德。他了知自身历世善恶业因,显现前世行持的功德事迹,说唱「我是天子」等事。这里说的「天人游戏五种天界感官的欲乐」者,指天人,以及天人之子的天子,一同称为天子。作为天子,他承受带来神通妙乐的天花,手持敬奉世尊,行供养礼敬。此义应当视为深广义理。

「我是天子」等事迹,是具寿长老曼陀罗花供养尊者的事迹。这位长老于古佛时代积累诸多功德资粮。世尊果德玛时期,他作为化身天子现身世间。见到世尊后心生欢喜,手持神花曼陀罗花,虔诚供养礼敬。

25. So tena puññenātiādikaṃ sabbaṃ anantarattherassa apadānavaṇṇanāya vuttanayeneva veditabbanti.
「以此功德」等事迹,是记述全体阿难尊者事迹之注解文中所论述,该处应以此文理解为准。

Himavantassāvidūretiādikaṃ āyasmato kadambapupphiyattherassa apadānaṃ. Ayampi purimajinavaresu katādhikāro tattha tattha bhave vivaṭṭūpanissayāni puññāni upacinanto sammāsambuddhasuññe loke ekasmiṃ kule nibbatto vuddhimanvāya gharāvāsaṃ vasanto tattha ādīnavaṃ disvā gharāvāsaṃ pahāya tāpasapabbajjaṃ pabbajitvā himavantasamīpe kukkuṭe nāma pabbate assamaṃ katvā vihāsi. So tattha satta paccekabuddhe disvā pasannamānaso pupphitaṃ kadambapupphaṃ ocinitvā te paccekabuddhe pūjesi. Tepi ‘‘icchitaṃ patthita’’ntiādinā anumodanaṃ akaṃsu.
此为尊者枳槃本伽长老之传记,名曰“喜马拉雅山之事”等。此长老于前劫中,曾在若干月光满盈之时获殊胜功德,众多功德皆由开释世尊空寂法中之善缘而生。当时于某一族家中出生,智慧过人,居于宅中见新异,便舍宅出家,苦行修道。出家后,住于喜马拉雅山近旁名为“公鸡”之峰上,静坐修行。其时见七位辟支佛,心生欢喜,采摘开花之枳槃花,以敬供于七位辟支佛。三者皆以“所愿皆遂,所听皆成”等称赞其善行。
§30
30. So tena puññena devamanussesu saṃsaranto ubhayasampattiyo anubhavitvā imasmiṃ buddhuppāde sāvatthiyaṃ kulagehe nibbatto vuddhimanvāya satthu dhammadesanaṃ sutvā paṭiladdhasaddho pabbajitvā nacirasseva arahā hutvā pubbakammaṃ saritvā somanassajāto pubbacaritāpadānaṃ pakāsento himavantassāvidūretiādimāha. Taṃ vuttatthameva. Kukkuṭo nāma pabbatoti tassa ubhosu passesu kukkuṭacūḷākārena pabbatakūṭānaṃ vijjamānattā kukkuṭoti saṅkhaṃ gato. Pakārena tiro hutvā patiṭṭhahatīti pabbato. Tamhi pabbatapādamhīti tasmiṃ pabbatasamīpe. Satta buddhā vasantīti satta paccekabuddhā tasmiṃ kukkuṭapabbatapāde paṇṇasālāyaṃ vasantīti attho.
三十、此长老凭此功德,于天人及人间相续受报,双重所获皆圆满。于此佛出世时,于舍卫城一族家出生,智慧增长,闻佛陀法,坚信不疑,出家修行。不久便证阿拉汉果,以往所作善业成熟,生起喜悦,宣说往昔事迹,称喜马拉雅山之事等。所谓即上文所说。所谓“公鸡”者,谓其形状似公鸡头之峰,山峦状如公鸡,故名。山脚下者,即山近旁之处。所谓七佛者,为七位辟支佛,居于“公鸡峰”脚之叶庵,义同。

31.Dīparājaṃvauggatanti dīpānaṃ rājā dīparājā, sabbesaṃ dīpānaṃ jalamānānaṃ tārakānaṃ rājā candoti attho. Atha vā sabbesu jambudīpapubbavidehaaparagoyānauttarakurusaṅkhātesu catūsu dīpesu dvisahassaparittadīpesu ca rājā ālokapharaṇato cando dīparājāti vuccati, taṃ nabhe uggataṃ candaṃ iva pupphitaṃ phullitaṃ kadambarukkhaṃ disvā tato pupphaṃ ocinitvā ubhohi hatthehi paggayha pakārena gahetvā satta paccekabuddhe samokiriṃ suṭṭhu okiriṃ, ādarena pūjesinti attho. Sesaṃ uttānatthamevāti.
三十一、谓“灯王高起者”,意为诸灯之王,宛如众星中之主,月王也。又或指阴界四大洲之一,称“南俱卢山”,有两千灯围绕,智慧光明如月,因此得名“灯王高起”。亦谓如空中高挂明月,如花开繁盛之枳槃树,采摘花朵,双手呈献于七辟支佛,恭敬供养,含意与前文一致。

7. Tiṇasūlakattheraapadānavaṇṇanā7. 提那苏喇咖长老譬喻注释
Himavantassāvidūretiādikaṃ āyasmato tiṇasūlakattherassa apadānaṃ. Ayampi thero purimajinavaresu katapuññasambhāro uppannuppannabhave kusalāni upacinanto sikhissa bhagavato kāle kulagehe nibbatto gharāvāsaṃ saṇṭhapetvā tattha dosaṃ disvā taṃ pahāya tāpasapabbajjaṃ pabbajitvā vasanto himavantasamīpe bhūtagaṇe nāma pabbate vasantaṃ ekataṃ vivekamanubrūhantaṃ sikhiṃ sambuddhaṃ disvā pasannamānaso tiṇasūlapupphaṃ gahetvā pādamūle pūjesi. Buddhopi tassa anumodanaṃ akāsi.
此为尊者芒叶钢长老之传记。此长老于前劫善业增长,多方造善,出于欲界婆罗门家,见恶事,舍之弃出,游行喜马拉雅山近旁,名为“鬼神众”的峰。访见一位觉者,心生欢喜,采撷芒叶花于足旁以供佛敬礼。佛亦为其称赞允诺。

35. So tena puññena devamanussesu saṃsaranto ubhayasampattiyo anubhavitvā imasmiṃ buddhuppāde sāvatthiyaṃ vibhavasampanne ekasmiṃ kule nibbatto vuddhimanvāya sāsane pasanno pabbajitvā upanissayasampannattā nacirasseva arahattaṃ pāpuṇitvā pubbakammaṃ saritvā somanassappatto pubbacaritāpadānaṃ pakāsento himavantassāvidūretiādimāha. Bhūtagaṇo nāma pabbatoti bhūtagaṇānaṃ devayakkhasamūhānaṃ āvāsabhūtattā bhavanasadisattā avirūḷhabhāvena pavattattā ca bhūtagaṇo nāma pabbato, tasmiṃ eko adutiyo jino jitamāro buddho vasate dibbabrahmaariyairiyāpathavihārehi viharatīti attho.
三十五、由此善业,生天人、人间受生,皆获双重福报。在佛世间舍卫城出世于有享乐之族家,智慧增长,欢喜闻法,得坚信,出家修行。不久证得果位,成阿拉汉,显现往昔善行,生起喜乐,称“喜马拉雅山之事”等。所谓“鬼神众”乃指众多天人及夜叉集聚处之山,因未受污染浊,与佛及梵天及诸圣贤同住,故名。众山之一,有另一觉者,断魔已成佛者,常在此地及天梵真理间修行,此释义完备。

36.Ekūnasatasahassaṃ , kappaṃ na vinipātikoti tena tiṇasūlapupphapūjākaraṇaphalena nirantaraṃ ekūnasatasahassakappānaṃ avinipātako caturāpāyavinimutto saggasampattibhavameva upapannoti attho. Sesaṃ suviññeyyamevāti.
三十六、以一千二百千劫不堕入下四趣苦处之功德,以前述芒叶花供养所生果报,历经无数劫仍不堕落,得生天上,脱离苦道,享受天福。其义详尽、易于理解。

8. Nāgapupphiyattheraapadānavaṇṇanā8. 那嘎花长老譬喻注释
Suvaccho nāma nāmenātiādikaṃ āyasmato nāgapupphiyattherassa apadānaṃ. Ayampi thero purimajinanisabhesu katādhikāro tattha tattha bhave vivaṭṭūpanissayāni puññāni upacinanto padumuttarabhagavato kāle brāhmaṇakule nibbatto vuddhippatto vedattayādīsu sakasippesu nipphattiṃ patvā tattha sāraṃ adisvā himavantaṃ pavisitvā tāpasapabbajjaṃ pabbajitvā jhānasamāpattisukhena vītināmesi. Tasmiṃ samaye padumuttaro bhagavā tassānukampāya tattha agamāsi. So tāpaso taṃ bhagavantaṃ disvā lakkhaṇasatthesu chekattā bhagavato lakkhaṇarūpasampattiyā pasanno vanditvā añjaliṃ paggayha aṭṭhāsi. Ākāsato anotiṇṇattā pūjāsakkāre akateyeva ākāseneva pakkāmi. Atha so tāpaso sasisso nāgapupphaṃ ocinitvā tena pupphena bhagavato gatadisābhāgamaggaṃ pūjesi.
名为苏瓦乔,乃是尊者那伽普菲亚长老的本生故事。这位长老过去世时,在众多人的上首,因居住处蕴含的解脱因缘而增长福德,于佛陀迦叶尊者时代生于婆罗门家族,受正法陶化,历诸诸天、人间等界,断生死轮回,洞察实相,隐居喜修苦行,出家修禅定,圆满禅定之喜乐而终。在那时,迦叶尊者为慈悲起见,亲临此处。那苦行者见尊者,依佛陀诸种殊胜相,心喜悦,顶礼后起身。感受天界无边虚空之不可逾越,刚完成顶礼,即乘虚空飞去。后该苦行者采摘长寿花,以此花供养佛陀所至广域。

So tena puññena devamanussesu saṃsaranto ubhayasampattiyo anubhavanto sabbattha pūjito imasmiṃ buddhuppāde sāvatthiyaṃ kulagehe nibbatto vuddhimanvāya saddhāsampanno pabbajitvā vattapaṭipattiyā sāsanaṃ sobhayamāno nacirasseva arahā hutvā ‘‘kena nu kho kusalakammena mayā ayaṃ lokuttarasampatti laddhā’’ti atītakammaṃ saranto pubbakammaṃ paccakkhato ñatvā sañjātasomanasso pubbacaritāpadānaṃ pakāsento suvaccho nāma nāmenātiādimāha. Tattha vacchagotte jātattā vaccho, sundaro ca so vaccho ceti suvaccho. Nāmena suvaccho nāma brāhmaṇo mantapāragū vedattayādisakalamantasatthe koṭippattoti attho. 因此功德,他在诸天人间轮转,享受两利,处处被尊敬。在本佛出世时,于舍卫城一个贵族家庭出生,生长聪慧,信心坚定,出家修行,依法生活,修学丰盛,未久成为阿拉汉,心怀疑惑问‘究竟以何善业得此出离世间之殊胜果报’,细察过往业,认知先前行为,坦露生前行为之善恶,称作苏瓦乔。从本生记载,知其俗家名为瓦恰哥德,乃佳美人也。因名曰苏瓦乔,即意味着他为一位善念通达,熟谙经典论理,通彻韦达经典的婆罗门大贤,此义在后文有清晰说明。

Kānanaṃvanamogayhātiādikaṃ āyasmato punnāgapupphiyattherassa apadānaṃ. Ayampi purimajinavaresu katādhikāro tattha tattha bhave vivaṭṭūpanissayāni puññāni upacinanto phussassa bhagavato kāle nesādakule nibbatto mahāvanaṃ paviṭṭho tattha supupphitapunnāgapupphaṃ disvā hetusampannattā buddhārammaṇapītivasena bhagavantaṃ saritvā taṃ pupphaṃ saha kaṇṇikāhi ocinitvā vālukāhi cetiyaṃ katvā pūjesi.
名为森林狩猎者的,是尊者普那伽普菲亚长老的本生故事。此长老亦在过去诸佛时代,于诸处因居所内含解脱之缘而增长福德。于佛陀迦叶尊者时代,生于内萨家,在大森林中,见到盛开长寿花,因缘成熟,因被佛教法之庄严所感动,诣佛陀所,采摘花与小花,供佛陀以沙土筑坛并供养。

So tena puññena dvenavutikappe nirantaraṃ devamanussasampattiyoyeva anubhavitvā imasmiṃ buddhuppāde sāvatthiyaṃ vibhavasampanne kule nibbatto vuddhimanvāya pubbavāsanābalena sāsane pasanno pabbajitvā vāyamanto nacirasseva arahā hutvā pubbe katakusalaṃ saritvā somanassajāto pubbacaritāpadānaṃ pakāsento kānanaṃ vanamogayhātiādimāha. 因此功德,他在二十九劫中恒常享有诸天人间之福报。在本佛出世时,于舍卫城富贵之家出世,生长聪颖,信心坚定,依先德之力欢喜教法,出家精进,未久成阿拉汉。彼曾识悟先前所作恶业,坦露先业,称为森林狩猎者。详细记载如下,且已有清晰阐述。

Himavantassāvidūretiādikaṃ āyasmato kumudadāyakattherassa apadānaṃ. Ayampi thero purimabuddhesu katādhikāro anekesu bhavesu vivaṭṭūpanissayāni puññāni upacinanto padumuttarassa bhagavato kāle himavantassa āsanne mahante jātassare kukuttho nāma pakkhī hutvā nibbatto kenaci akusalena pakkhī samānopi pubbe katasambhārena buddhisampanno puññāpuññesu cheko sīlavā pāṇagocarato paṭivirato ahosi. Tasmiṃ samaye padumuttaro bhagavā ākāsenāgantvā tassa samīpe caṅkamati. Atha so sakuṇo bhagavantaṃ disvā pasannacitto kumudapupphaṃ ḍaṃsitvā bhagavato pādamūle pūjesi. Bhagavā tassa somanassuppādanatthaṃ paṭiggahetvā anumodanamakāsi.
名为喜乐山之知者,是尊者库姆达达长老的本生故事。此长老于过去诸佛时代多处生中,因居处蕴含解脱因缘而增长福德。于尊者迦叶时生于喜乐山附近,化生为一名为库库多的鸟,因曾为佛智清净所护戒者,生前斋戒,断恶行。那时迦叶尊者乘虚空而至,该鸟见尊者,心念清净,以喜乐花顶礼佛陀足下。佛陀因其起善心而欢喜赞许。

So tena puññena devamanussesu ubhayasampattisukhaṃ anubhavitvā imasmiṃ buddhuppāde sāvatthiyaṃ aññatarasmiṃ kule nibbatto vuddhimanvāya mahaddhano mahābhogo ratanattaye pasanno satthu dhammadesanaṃ sutvā paṭiladdhasaddho pabbajitvā nacirasseva arahā hutvā attano pubbakammaṃ paccakkhato ñatvā somanassajāto pubbacaritāpadānaṃ pakāsento himavantassāvidūretiādimāha. Padumuppalasañchannoti ettha satapattehi sampuṇṇo setapadumo ca tīṇi nīlarattasetuppalāni ca padumuppalāni tehi sañchanno gahanībhūto sampuṇṇo mahājātassaro ahūti sambandho. Puṇḍarīkasamotthaṭoti puṇḍarīkehi rattapadumehi otthaṭo sampuṇṇoti attho. Sesaṃ suviññeyyamevāti.
因此功德,彼在诸天人间享受双重福乐。在本佛出世时,于舍卫城一贵族家庭出生,富有多宝,生性和善,听闻如来正法而信心坚固,遂出家修行,未久成为阿拉汉。彼细观先前善业,坦露生前行履,名为喜乐山知者。所谓莲花丛生,莲叶交叠,三色莲花点缀其上,莲花密集,犹如幅布斑斓称为大诞生连结。『蓮池起源』意谓由莲花荷叶所聚集。其余义理可深解。
