‘‘Pañcime , bhikkhave, ādīnavā dīghacārikaṃ anavatthacārikaṃ anuyuttassa viharato. Katame pañca? Assutaṃ na suṇāti, sutaṃ na pariyodāpeti, sutenekaccena avisārado hoti, gāḷhaṃ rogātaṅkaṃ phusati, na ca mittavā hoti. Ime kho, bhikkhave, pañca ādīnavā dīghacārikaṃ anavatthacārikaṃ anuyuttassa viharato.
「诸比库,从事长途游行、无定所游行而住者有此等五种过患。哪五种?未闻者不得闻,已闻者不得清净,对某些已闻者不得确信,遭遇严重的疾病,不得友谊。诸比库,从事长途游行、无定所游行而住者有此等五种过患。

Bahubhaṇḍo hoti bahubhaṇḍasannicayo, bahubhesajjo hoti bahubhesajjasannicayo, bahukicco hoti bahukaraṇīyo byatto kiṃkaraṇīyesu, saṃsaṭṭho viharati gahaṭṭhapabbajitehi ananulomikena gihisaṃsaggena, tamhā ca āvāsā pakkamanto sāpekkho pakkamati. Ime kho, bhikkhave, pañca ādīnavā atinivāse.
「诸比库,过久住有此等五种过患。哪五种?多资具、多资具积聚,多药品、多药品积聚,多事务、多所作、精于诸事务,与在家众、出家众杂住,以不适当的在家交往,从彼住所离去时有期待而离去。诸比库,过久住有此等五种过患。

「诸比库,适度住有此等五种功德。哪五种?不多资具、不多资具积聚,不多药品、不多药品积聚,不多事务、不多所作、不精于诸事务,不与在家众、出家众杂住以不适当的在家交往,从彼住所离去时无期待而离去。诸比库,适度住有此等五种功德。」第三。

‘‘Pañcime, bhikkhave, ādīnavā atinivāse. Katame pañca? Āvāsamaccharī hoti, kulamaccharī hoti, lābhamaccharī hoti, vaṇṇamaccharī hoti, dhammamaccharī hoti. Ime kho, bhikkhave, pañca ādīnavā atinivāse.
「诸比库,过久住有此等五种过患。哪五种?对住所悭吝,对家族悭吝,对利养悭吝,对称赞悭吝,对法悭吝。诸比库,过久住有此等五种过患。
‘‘Pañcime , bhikkhave, ānisaṃsā samavatthavāse. Katame pañca? Na āvāsamaccharī hoti, na kulamaccharī hoti, na lābhamaccharī hoti, na vaṇṇamaccharī hoti, na dhammamaccharī hoti. Ime kho, bhikkhave, pañca ānisaṃsā samavatthavāse’’ti. Catutthaṃ.

「诸比库!亲近俗家者有这五种过患。哪五种?不告而行则犯,独坐屏处则犯,坐于覆蔽座则犯,以超过五、六句之法为妇女说法则犯,多住于欲寻。诸比库!这些是亲近俗家者的五种过患。」第五经

‘‘Pañcime, bhikkhave, ādīnavā kulūpakassa bhikkhuno ativelaṃ kulesu saṃsaṭṭhassa viharato. Katame pañca? Mātugāmassa abhiṇhadassanaṃ, dassane sati saṃsaggo, saṃsagge sati vissāso, vissāse sati otāro, otiṇṇacittassetaṃ pāṭikaṅkhaṃ – ‘anabhirato vā brahmacariyaṃ carissati aññataraṃ vā saṃkiliṭṭhaṃ āpattiṃ āpajjissati sikkhaṃ vā paccakkhāya hīnāyāvattissati’. Ime kho, bhikkhave, pañca ādīnavā kulūpakassa bhikkhuno ativelaṃ kulesu saṃsaṭṭhassa viharato’’ti. Chaṭṭhaṃ.
「诸比库!过度与诸俗家交往而住的亲近俗家的比库有这五种过患。哪五种?频繁见妇女,见时则交往,交往则亲密,亲密则陷入,心已陷入者可预期:『或者不乐而行梵行,或者犯某种杂染之罪,或者舍弃学而还归下劣。』诸比库!这些是过度与诸俗家交往而住的亲近俗家的比库的五种过患。」第六经

「诸比库!诸财富有这五种过患。哪五种?财富为火所共有,财富为水所共有,财富为王所共有,财富为贼所共有,财富为不可爱的诸继承者所共有。诸比库!这些是诸财富的五种过患。」

Bhoge nissāya attānaṃ sukheti pīṇeti sammā sukhaṃ pariharati, mātāpitaro sukheti pīṇeti sammā sukhaṃ pariharati, puttadāradāsakammakaraporise sukheti pīṇeti sammā sukhaṃ pariharati, mittāmacce sukheti pīṇeti sammā sukhaṃ pariharati, samaṇabrāhmaṇesu uddhaggikaṃ dakkhiṇaṃ patiṭṭhāpeti sovaggikaṃ sukhavipākaṃ saggasaṃvattanikaṃ. Ime kho, bhikkhave, pañca ānisaṃsā bhogesū’’ti. Sattamaṃ.
「诸比库!诸财富有这五种功德。哪五种?依财富而使自己快乐、喜悦,正确地受用安乐;使父母快乐、喜悦,正确地受用安乐;使子女、妻子、奴仆、工人、仆役快乐、喜悦,正确地受用安乐;使朋友、同僚快乐、喜悦,正确地受用安乐;对诸沙门、婆罗门建立向上的布施,有乐果报,导向天界。诸比库!这些是诸财富的五种功德。」第七经

Ye te atithī pāhunā, te na kālena paṭipūjenti; yā tā balipaṭiggāhikā devatā, tā na kālena paṭipūjenti; ye te samaṇabrāhmaṇā ekabhattikā rattūparatā viratā vikālabhojanā, te na kālena paṭipūjenti; dāsakammakaraporisā vimukhā kammaṃ karonti; tāvatakaṃyeva asamayena bhuttaṃ anojavantaṃ hoti. Ime kho, bhikkhave, pañca ādīnavā ussūrabhatte kule.
「诸比库!非时食的家有这五种过患。哪五种?那些客人、宾客,不能适时地供养;那些接受供物的天人,不能适时地供养;那些一日一食、夜间停止、离非时食的诸沙门、婆罗门,不能适时地供养;奴仆、工人、仆役背离而作事;仅仅那么多非时所食的,无营养。诸比库!这些是非时食的家的五种过患。」
‘‘Pañcime, bhikkhave, ānisaṃsā samayabhatte kule. Katame pañca? Ye te atithī pāhunā, te kālena paṭipūjenti; yā tā balipaṭiggāhikā devatā, tā kālena paṭipūjenti; ye te samaṇabrāhmaṇā ekabhattikā rattūparatā viratā vikālabhojanā, te kālena paṭipūjenti; dāsakammakaraporisā avimukhā kammaṃ karonti; tāvatakaṃyeva samayena bhuttaṃ ojavantaṃ hoti. Ime kho, bhikkhave, pañca ānisaṃsā samayabhatte kule’’ti. Aṭṭhamaṃ.

‘‘Pañcime, bhikkhave, ādīnavā kaṇhasappe. Katame pañca? Asuci, duggandho, sabhīru, sappaṭibhayo, mittadubbhī – ime kho, bhikkhave , pañca ādīnavā kaṇhasappe. Evamevaṃ kho, bhikkhave, pañcime ādīnavā mātugāme. Katame pañca? Asuci, duggandho, sabhīru, sappaṭibhayo, mittadubbhī – ime kho, bhikkhave, pañca ādīnavā mātugāme’’ti. Navamaṃ.
「诸比库!黑蛇有这五种过患。哪五种?须跋、恶臭、可怖、令人恐惧、背弃朋友——诸比库!这些是黑蛇的五种过患。同样地,诸比库!妇女有这五种过患。哪五种?须跋、恶臭、可怖、令人恐惧、背弃朋友——诸比库!这些是妇女的五种过患。」第九经

「诸比库!黑蛇有这五种过患。哪五种?易怒、怀恨、剧毒、恶舌、背弃朋友——诸比库!这些是黑蛇的五种过患。」
‘‘Evamevaṃ kho, bhikkhave, pañcime ādīnavā mātugāme. Katame pañca? Kodhano, upanāhī, ghoraviso, dujjivho, mittadubbhī. Tatridaṃ, bhikkhave, mātugāmassa ghoravisatā – yebhuyyena, bhikkhave, mātugāmo tibbarāgo. Tatridaṃ, bhikkhave, mātugāmassa dujjivhatā – yebhuyyena, bhikkhave, mātugāmo pisuṇavāco. Tatridaṃ, bhikkhave, mātugāmassa mittadubbhitā – yebhuyyena , bhikkhave, mātugāmo aticārinī. Ime kho, bhikkhave, pañca ādīnavā mātugāme’’ti. Dasamaṃ.
「诸比库!同样地,女人有这五种过患。哪五种呢?易怒、怀恨、剧毒、恶舌、友恶。诸比库!于此,女人的剧毒性是什么呢?诸比库!通常,女人有强烈的贪欲。诸比库!于此,女人的恶舌性是什么呢?诸比库!通常,女人说两舌语。诸比库!于此,女人的友恶性是什么呢?诸比库!通常,女人是不贞的。诸比库!这些是女人的五种过患。」第十经。
