‘‘Pañcime , bhikkhave, puggalā santo saṃvijjamānā lokasmiṃ. Katame pañca? Datvā avajānāti, saṃvāsena avajānāti, ādheyyamukho hoti, lolo hoti, mando momūho hoti .
「诸比库,这五种人存在、出现于世间。哪五种?施后轻蔑者、共住后轻蔑者、易受影响者、轻浮者、愚钝愚痴者。
‘‘Kathañca, bhikkhave, puggalo datvā avajānāti? Idha, bhikkhave, puggalo puggalassa deti cīvarapiṇḍapātasenāsanagilānappaccayabhesajjaparikkhāraṃ. Tassa evaṃ hoti – ‘ahaṃ demi; ayaṃ paṭiggaṇhātī’ti. Tamenaṃ datvā avajānāti. Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, puggalo datvā avajānāti.
「诸比库,什么样的人是施后轻蔑者?诸比库,这里,某人施与某人衣、食、卧坐处、病者所需之医药资具。他如此想:『我施与;此人接受』。他施后轻蔑他。诸比库,这样的人是施后轻蔑者。
‘‘Kathañca , bhikkhave, puggalo saṃvāsena avajānāti? Idha , bhikkhave, puggalo puggalena saddhiṃ saṃvasati dve vā tīṇi vā vassāni. Tamenaṃ saṃvāsena avajānāti. Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, puggalo saṃvāsena avajānāti.
「诸比库,什么样的人是共住后轻蔑者?诸比库,这里,某人与某人共住二年或三年。他共住后轻蔑他。诸比库,这样的人是共住后轻蔑者。
‘‘Kathañca, bhikkhave, puggalo ādheyyamukho hoti? Idha, bhikkhave, ekacco puggalo parassa vaṇṇe vā avaṇṇe vā bhāsiyamāne taṃ khippaññeva adhimuccitā hoti. Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, puggalo ādheyyamukho hoti.
「诸比库,什么样的人是易受影响者?诸比库,这里,某人当他人说赞叹或毁谤时,他很快就被影响。诸比库,这样的人是易受影响者。

Idha, bhikkhave, ekacco puggalo kusalākusale dhamme na jānāti, sāvajjānavajje dhamme na jānāti, hīnappaṇīte dhamme na jānāti , kaṇhasukkasappaṭibhāge dhamme na jānāti. Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, puggalo mando momūho hoti. Ime kho, bhikkhave, pañca puggalā santo saṃvijjamānā lokasmi’’nti. Paṭhamaṃ.

Ekaṃ samayaṃ bhagavā vesāliyaṃ viharati mahāvane kūṭāgārasālāyaṃ. Atha kho bhagavā pubbaṇhasamayaṃ nivāsetvā pattacīvaramādāya vesāliṃ piṇḍāya pāvisi. Tena kho pana samayena pañcamattānaṃ licchavisatānaṃ sārandade cetiye sannisinnānaṃ sannipatitānaṃ ayamantarākathā udapādi – ‘‘pañcannaṃ ratanānaṃ pātubhāvo dullabho lokasmiṃ. Katamesaṃ pañcannaṃ? Hatthiratanassa pātubhāvo dullabho lokasmiṃ, assaratanassa pātubhāvo dullabho lokasmiṃ, maṇiratanassa pātubhāvo dullabho lokasmiṃ, itthiratanassa pātubhāvo dullabho lokasmiṃ, gahapatiratanassa pātubhāvo dullabho lokasmiṃ. Imesaṃ pañcannaṃ ratanānaṃ pātubhāvo dullabho lokasmi’’nti.
一时,世尊住在韦萨离大林重阁讲堂。尔时,世尊于上午时分着衣持钵,为了托钵而进入韦萨离。当时,约五百离车人聚集坐在沙兰达达塔庙,他们之间生起了这样的话题——「五种宝的出现在世间是难得的。哪五种呢?象宝的出现在世间是难得的,马宝的出现在世间是难得的,摩尼宝的出现在世间是难得的,女宝的出现在世间是难得的,居士宝的出现在世间是难得的。这五种宝的出现在世间是难得的。」
Atha kho te licchavī magge purisaṃ ṭhapesuṃ – ‘‘yadā tvaṃ , ambho purisa, passeyyāsi bhagavantaṃ, atha amhākaṃ āroceyyāsī’’ti. Addasā kho so puriso bhagavantaṃ dūratova āgacchantaṃ; disvāna yena te licchavī tenupasaṅkami; upasaṅkamitvā te licchavī etadavoca – ‘‘ayaṃ so, bhante, bhagavā gacchati arahaṃ sammāsambuddho; yassadāni kālaṃ maññathā’’ti.
尔时,那些离车人在路上安置了一个人——「朋友,当你看见世尊时,你应当告知我们。」那人看见世尊从远处走来;看见后,他前往那些离车人处;前往后,对那些离车人这样说——「尊者们,那位世尊、阿拉汉、正等正觉者正在前来;现在你们认为是时候了。」
Atha kho te licchavī yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkamiṃsu; upasaṅkamitvā bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ aṭṭhaṃsu. Ekamantaṃ ṭhitā kho te licchavī bhagavantaṃ etadavocuṃ –
尔时,那些离车人前往世尊处;前往后,礼敬世尊,站立在一边。站立在一边的那些离车人对世尊这样说——
‘‘Sādhu, bhante, yena sārandadaṃ cetiyaṃ tenupasaṅkamatu anukampaṃ upādāyā’’ti. Adhivāsesi bhagavā tuṇhībhāvena. Atha kho bhagavā yena sārandadaṃ cetiyaṃ tenupasaṅkami; upasaṅkamitvā paññatte āsane nisīdi. Nisajja kho bhagavā te licchavī etadavoca – ‘‘kāya nuttha, licchavī, etarahi kathāya sannisinnā, kā ca pana vo antarākathā vippakatā’’ti? ‘‘Idha, bhante, amhākaṃ sannisinnānaṃ sannipatitānaṃ ayamantarākathā udapādi – ‘pañcannaṃ ratanānaṃ pātubhāvo dullabho lokasmiṃ. Katamesaṃ pañcannaṃ ? ‘‘Kāmādhimuttānaṃ vata, bho, licchavīnaṃ kāmaṃyeva ārabbha antarākathā udapādi. Pañcannaṃ, licchavī, ratanānaṃ pātubhāvo dullabho lokasmiṃ. Katamesaṃ pañcannaṃ? Tathāgatassa arahato sammāsambuddhassa pātubhāvo dullabho lokasmiṃ, tathāgatappaveditassa dhammavinayassa desetā puggalo dullabho lokasmiṃ, tathāgatappaveditassa dhammavinayassa desitassa viññātā puggalo dullabho lokasmiṃ, tathāgatappaveditassa dhammavinayassa desitassa viññātā dhammānudhammappaṭipanno puggalo dullabho lokasmiṃ, kataññū katavedī puggalo dullabho lokasmiṃ. 「诸位离车人确实是耽着于欲的,因此才生起了关于欲的话题。离车人们,五种宝的出现在世间是难得的。哪五种呢?如来、阿拉汉、正等正觉者的出现在世间是难得的,宣说如来所宣示的法与律的人在世间是难得的,理解如来所宣示的法与律之所说的人在世间是难得的,理解如来所宣示的法与律之所说而随法行道的人在世间是难得的,知恩、感恩的人在世间是难得的。离车人们,这五种宝的出现在世间是难得的。」第三经。

一时,世尊住在萨咖塔的提甘达给林。在那里,世尊称呼比库们——「诸比库。」「尊者。」那些比库回答世尊。世尊这样说——

「诸比库,善哉,比库应当时时于不可厌者住于厌恶想。诸比库,善哉,比库应当时时于可厌者住于不厌恶想。诸比库,善哉,比库应当时时于不可厌者与可厌者住于厌恶想。诸比库,善哉,比库应当时时于可厌者与不可厌者住于不厌恶想。诸比库,善哉,比库应当时时舍弃可厌者与不可厌者两者,住于舍、具念、正知。
‘‘Kiñca , bhikkhave, bhikkhu atthavasaṃ paṭicca appaṭikūle paṭikūlasaññī vihareyya? ‘Mā me rajanīyesu dhammesu rāgo udapādī’ti – idaṃ kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu atthavasaṃ paṭicca appaṭikūle paṭikūlasaññī vihareyya.
「诸比库,比库为了什么义利而于不可厌者住于厌恶想呢?『愿我对可染着的诸法不生起贪欲』——诸比库,比库为了这个义利而于不可厌者住于厌恶想。
‘‘Kiñca, bhikkhave, bhikkhu atthavasaṃ paṭicca paṭikūle appaṭikūlasaññī vihareyya? ‘Mā me dosanīyesu dhammesu doso udapādī’ti – idaṃ kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu atthavasaṃ paṭicca paṭikūle appaṭikūlasaññī vihareyya.
「诸比库,什么是比库依于义利,于厌恶之处住于无厌恶想?『愿我于应嗔之法不生起嗔』——诸比库,这就是比库依于义利,于厌恶之处住于无厌恶想。
‘‘Kiñca , bhikkhave, bhikkhu atthavasaṃ paṭicca appaṭikūle ca paṭikūle ca paṭikūlasaññī vihareyya? ‘Mā me rajanīyesu dhammesu rāgo udapādi, mā me dosanīyesu dhammesu doso udapādī’ti – idaṃ kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu atthavasaṃ paṭicca appaṭikūle ca paṭikūle ca paṭikūlasaññī vihareyya.
「诸比库,什么是比库依于义利,于无厌恶之处与厌恶之处住于厌恶想?『愿我于应染之法不生起染,愿我于应嗔之法不生起嗔』——诸比库,这就是比库依于义利,于无厌恶之处与厌恶之处住于厌恶想。
‘‘Kiñca, bhikkhave, bhikkhu atthavasaṃ paṭicca paṭikūle ca appaṭikūle ca appaṭikūlasaññī vihareyya? ‘Mā me dosanīyesu dhammesu doso udapādi, mā me rajanīyesu dhammesu rāgo udapādī’ti – idaṃ kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu atthavasaṃ paṭicca paṭikūle ca appaṭikūle ca appaṭikūlasaññī vihareyya.
「诸比库,什么是比库依于义利,于厌恶之处与无厌恶之处住于无厌恶想?『愿我于应嗔之法不生起嗔,愿我于应染之法不生起染』——诸比库,这就是比库依于义利,于厌恶之处与无厌恶之处住于无厌恶想。
‘‘Kiñca, bhikkhave, bhikkhu atthavasaṃ paṭicca paṭikūlañca appaṭikūlañca tadubhayaṃ abhinivajjetvā upekkhako vihareyya? ‘Sato sampajāno mā me kvacani katthaci kiñcanaṃ rajanīyesu dhammesu rāgo udapādi, mā me kvacani katthaci kiñcanaṃ dosanīyesu dhammesu doso udapādi, mā me kvacani katthaci kiñcanaṃ mohanīyesu dhammesu moho udapādī’ti – idaṃ kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu atthavasaṃ paṭicca paṭikūlañca appaṭikūlañca tadubhayaṃ abhinivajjetvā upekkhako vihareyya sato sampajāno’’ti. 「诸比库,什么是比库依于义利,舍离厌恶与无厌恶两者,住于舍、具念、正知?『愿我于任何处、任何地、任何应染之法不生起染,愿我于任何处、任何地、任何应嗔之法不生起嗔,愿我于任何处、任何地、任何应痴之法不生起痴』——诸比库,这就是比库依于义利,舍离厌恶与无厌恶两者,住于舍、具念、正知。」第四。

「诸比库,具足五法者,如所持来般被投入地狱。哪五种?杀生者、不与取者、欲邪行者、妄语者、放逸之因的诸酒类者。诸比库,具足这五法者,如所持来般被投入地狱。
‘‘Pañcahi , bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgato yathābhataṃ nikkhitto evaṃ sagge. Katamehi pañcahi? Pāṇātipātā paṭivirato hoti, adinnādānā paṭivirato hoti, kāmesumicchācārā paṭivirato hoti, musāvādā paṭivirato hoti, surāmerayamajjapamādaṭṭhānā paṭivirato hoti. Kammantaṃ kāreti, adhikaraṇaṃ ādiyati, pāmokkhesu bhikkhūsu paṭiviruddho hoti, dīghacārikaṃ anavatthacārikaṃ anuyutto viharati, nappaṭibalo hoti kālena kālaṃ dhammiyā kathāya sandassetuṃ samādapetuṃ samuttejetuṃ sampahaṃsetuṃ. Imehi kho, bhikkhave, pañcahi dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu mitto na sevitabbo.
「诸比库,具足五法的比库朋友不应亲近。哪五种?作事业,承担诤事,与上座比库们对立,从事长期游行、无定处游行,不能时时以如法之语示导、劝导、鼓励、使之欢喜。诸比库,具足这五法的比库朋友不应亲近。
‘‘Pañcahi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu mitto sevitabbo. Katamehi pañcahi? 「诸比库,适时地施之后,无论在何处该施的果报生起,他富有、大财富、大资产;且适时的利益对他丰富。
‘‘Anuggahitacitto kho pana, bhikkhave, dānaṃ datvā yattha yattha tassa dānassa vipāko nibbattati, aḍḍho ca hoti mahaddhano mahābhogo; uḷāresu ca pañcasu kāmaguṇesu bhogāya cittaṃ namati.
「诸比库,以不嫉妒心施之后,无论在何处该施的果报生起,他富有、大财富、大资产;且心倾向于享受殊胜的五种欲功德。
‘‘Attānañca parañca anupahacca kho pana, bhikkhave, dānaṃ datvā yattha yattha tassa dānassa vipāko nibbattati, aḍḍho ca hoti mahaddhano mahābhogo; na cassa kutoci bhogānaṃ upaghāto āgacchati aggito vā udakato vā rājato vā corato vā appiyato vā dāyādato vā .
