‘‘Pañcahi , bhikkhave, aṅgehi samannāgato rājā cakkavattī dhammeneva cakkaṃ vatteti ; taṃ hoti cakkaṃ appaṭivattiyaṃ kenaci manussabhūtena paccatthikena pāṇinā.
「诸比库,具足五支的转轮王如法地转动轮;那轮是任何人类敌对者都不能逆转的。
‘‘Katamehi pañcahi? Idha, bhikkhave, rājā cakkavattī atthaññū ca hoti, dhammaññū ca, mattaññū ca, kālaññū ca, parisaññū ca. Imehi kho, bhikkhave, pañcahi aṅgehi samannāgato rājā cakkavattī dhammeneva cakkaṃ pavatteti; taṃ hoti cakkaṃ appaṭivattiyaṃ kenaci manussabhūtena paccatthikena pāṇinā.
「哪五种?诸比库,于此,转轮王知义、知法、知量、知时、知众。诸比库,具足这五支的转轮王如法地转动轮;那轮是任何人类敌对者都不能逆转的。

「诸比库,具足五支的转轮王的长子如法地随转父亲所转动的轮;那轮是任何人类敌对者都不能逆转的。
‘‘Katamehi pañcahi? Idha, bhikkhave, rañño cakkavattissa jeṭṭho putto atthaññū ca hoti, dhammaññū ca, mattaññū ca, kālaññū ca, parisaññū ca. Imehi kho, bhikkhave, pañcahi aṅgehi samannāgato rañño cakkavattissa jeṭṭho putto pitarā pavattitaṃ cakkaṃ dhammeneva anuppavatteti; taṃ hoti cakkaṃ appaṭivattiyaṃ kenaci manussabhūtena paccatthikena pāṇinā.
「哪五种?诸比库,于此,转轮王的长子知义、知法、知量、知时、知众。诸比库,具足这五支的转轮王的长子如法地随转父亲所转动的轮;那轮是任何人类敌对者都不能逆转的。
‘‘Evamevaṃ kho, bhikkhave, pañcahi dhammehi samannāgato sāriputto tathāgatena anuttaraṃ dhammacakkaṃ pavattitaṃ sammadeva anuppavatteti; taṃ hoti cakkaṃ appaṭivattiyaṃ samaṇena vā brāhmaṇena vā devena vā mārena vā brahmunā vā kenaci vā lokasmiṃ.
「诸比库,同样地,具足五法的沙利子正确地随转如来所转动的无上法轮;那轮是沙门、婆罗门、天人、魔、梵天或世间任何者都不能逆转的。
‘‘Katamehi pañcahi? Idha, bhikkhave, sāriputto atthaññū, dhammaññū, mattaññū , kālaññū, parisaññū. Imehi kho, bhikkhave, pañcahi dhammehi samannāgato sāriputto tathāgatena anuttaraṃ dhammacakkaṃ pavattitaṃ sammadeva anuppavatteti; taṃ hoti cakkaṃ appaṭivattiyaṃ samaṇena vā brāhmaṇena vā devena vā mārena vā brahmunā vā kenaci vā lokasmi’’nti. 3. Dhammarājāsuttaṃ3. 法王经

‘‘Yopi so , bhikkhave, rājā cakkavattī dhammiko dhammarājā, sopi na arājakaṃ cakkaṃ vattetī’’ti. Evaṃ vutte aññataro bhikkhu bhagavantaṃ etadavoca – ‘‘ko pana, bhante, rañño cakkavattissa dhammikassa dhammarañño rājā’’ti? ‘‘Dhammo, bhikkhū’’ti bhagavā avoca.
「诸比库,即使那位转轮王、如法的法王,他也不能转无王之轮。」如是说已,某位比库对世尊如是说:「尊者,那么谁是转轮王、如法的法王之王呢?」「诸比库,是法。」世尊说。
‘‘Idha, bhikkhu, rājā cakkavattī dhammiko dhammarājā dhammaññeva nissāya dhammaṃ sakkaronto dhammaṃ garuṃ karonto dhammaṃ apacāyamāno dhammaddhajo dhammaketu dhammādhipateyyo dhammikaṃ rakkhāvaraṇaguttiṃ saṃvidahati antojanasmiṃ.
「比库们!在此,转轮王是如法的法王,只依法而尊敬法、尊重法、恭敬法,以法为幢、以法为旗、以法为主,为内宫之人提供如法的保护、庇护与守护。
‘‘Puna caparaṃ, bhikkhu, rājā cakkavattī dhammiko dhammarājā dhammaññeva nissāya dhammaṃ sakkaronto dhammaṃ garuṃ karonto dhammaṃ apacāyamāno dhammaddhajo dhammaketu dhammādhipateyyo dhammikaṃ rakkhāvaraṇaguttiṃ saṃvidahati khattiyesu anuyantesu …pe… balakāyasmiṃ brāhmaṇagahapatikesu negamajānapadesu samaṇabrāhmaṇesu migapakkhīsu. Sa kho so, bhikkhu, rājā cakkavattī dhammiko dhammarājā dhammaññeva nissāya dhammaṃ sakkaronto dhammaṃ garuṃ karonto dhammaṃ apacāyamāno dhammaddhajo dhammaketu dhammādhipateyyo dhammikaṃ rakkhāvaraṇaguttiṃ saṃvidahitvā antojanasmiṃ dhammikaṃ rakkhāvaraṇaguttiṃ saṃvidahitvā khattiyesu anuyantesu balakāyasmiṃ brāhmaṇagahapatikesu negamajānapadesu samaṇabrāhmaṇesu migapakkhīsu dhammeneva cakkaṃ pavatteti; taṃ hoti cakkaṃ appaṭivattiyaṃ kenaci manussabhūtena paccatthikena pāṇinā.
再者,比库,转轮王如法的法王,只依法而尊敬法、尊重法、崇敬法,以法为幢、以法为旗、以法为主,为刹帝利随从们……乃至……为军队、为婆罗门居士们、为城镇乡村、为沙门婆罗门们、为鸟兽提供如法的保护、庇护与守护。比库,那位转轮王如法的法王,只依法而尊敬法、尊重法、崇敬法,以法为幢、以法为旗、以法为主,为内眷提供如法的保护、庇护与守护,为刹帝利随从们、为军队、为婆罗门居士们、为城镇乡村、为沙门婆罗门们、为鸟兽提供如法的保护、庇护与守护后,只以法转动轮;那轮是任何敌对的人类有情都无法使之退转的。
‘‘Evamevaṃ kho, bhikkhu, tathāgato arahaṃ sammāsambuddho dhammiko dhammarājā dhammaññeva nissāya dhammaṃ sakkaronto dhammaṃ garuṃ karonto dhammaṃ apacāyamāno dhammaddhajo dhammaketu dhammādhipateyyo dhammikaṃ rakkhāvaraṇaguttiṃ saṃvidahati bhikkhūsu – ‘evarūpaṃ kāyakammaṃ sevitabbaṃ, evarūpaṃ kāyakammaṃ na sevitabbaṃ; evarūpaṃ vacīkammaṃ sevitabbaṃ, evarūpaṃ vacīkammaṃ na sevitabbaṃ; evarūpaṃ manokammaṃ sevitabbaṃ, evarūpaṃ manokammaṃ na sevitabbaṃ; evarūpo ājīvo sevitabbo, evarūpo ājīvo na sevitabbo; evarūpo gāmanigamo sevitabbo, evarūpo gāmanigamo na sevitabbo’ti.
同样地,比库,如来、阿拉汉、正自觉者是如法的法王,依止于法,尊敬法,尊重法,恭敬法,以法为幢,以法为旗,以法为主,为诸比库施设如法的守护、防护与保护:「应亲近这样的身业,不应亲近这样的身业;应亲近这样的语业,不应亲近这样的语业;应亲近这样的意业,不应亲近这样的意业;应亲近这样的生活,不应亲近这样的生活;应亲近这样的村镇,不应亲近这样的村镇。」
‘‘Puna caparaṃ, bhikkhu, tathāgato arahaṃ sammāsambuddho dhammiko dhammarājā dhammaññeva nissāya dhammaṃ sakkaronto dhammaṃ garuṃ karonto dhammaṃ apacāyamāno dhammaddhajo dhammaketu dhammādhipateyyo dhammikaṃ rakkhāvaraṇaguttiṃ saṃvidahati bhikkhunīsu …pe… upāsakesu…pe… upāsikāsu – ‘evarūpaṃ kāyakammaṃ sevitabbaṃ, evarūpaṃ kāyakammaṃ na sevitabbaṃ; evarūpaṃ vacīkammaṃ sevitabbaṃ, evarūpaṃ vacīkammaṃ na sevitabbaṃ; evarūpaṃ manokammaṃ sevitabbaṃ, evarūpaṃ manokammaṃ na sevitabbaṃ; evarūpo ājīvo sevitabbo, evarūpo ājīvo na sevitabbo; evarūpo gāmanigamo sevitabbo, evarūpo gāmanigamo na sevitabbo’’’ti.
再者,比库们,如来、阿拉汉、正自觉者是如法者、法王,依止于法,尊重法、尊敬法、崇敬法,以法为幢、以法为旗、以法为主,为比库尼们……近事男们……近事女们施设如法的守护、防护与保护:「应亲近这样的身业,不应亲近这样的身业;应亲近这样的语业,不应亲近这样的语业;应亲近这样的意业,不应亲近这样的意业;应亲近这样的生活,不应亲近这样的生活;应亲近这样的村镇,不应亲近这样的村镇。」
‘‘Sa kho so, bhikkhu, tathāgato arahaṃ sammāsambuddho dhammiko dhammarājā dhammaññeva nissāya dhammaṃ sakkaronto dhammaṃ garuṃ karonto dhammaṃ apacāyamāno dhammaddhajo dhammaketu dhammādhipateyyo dhammikaṃ rakkhāvaraṇaguttiṃ saṃvidahitvā bhikkhūsu, dhammikaṃ rakkhāvaraṇaguttiṃ saṃvidahitvā bhikkhunīsu, dhammikaṃ rakkhāvaraṇaguttiṃ saṃvidahitvā upāsakesu, dhammikaṃ rakkhāvaraṇaguttiṃ saṃvidahitvā upāsikāsu dhammeneva anuttaraṃ dhammacakkaṃ pavatteti; taṃ hoti cakkaṃ appaṭivattiyaṃ samaṇena vā brāhmaṇena vā devena vā mārena vā brahmunā vā kenaci vā lokasmi’’nti. Tatiyaṃ.
「比库,那位如来、阿拉汉、正自觉者是如法的法王,依止于法,尊敬法、尊重法、恭敬法,以法为幢、以法为标帜、以法为主宰,为诸比库施设如法的保护、防护与守护,为诸比库尼施设如法的保护、防护与守护,为诸近事男施设如法的保护、防护与守护,为诸近事女施设如法的保护、防护与守护后,唯以法转起无上法轮;那法轮是世间任何沙门、婆罗门、天人、魔、梵天或任何人都无法逆转的。」

4. Yassaṃdisaṃsuttaṃ4. 如是方经

‘‘Pañcahi, bhikkhave, aṅgehi samannāgato rājā khattiyo muddhāvasitto yassaṃ yassaṃ disāyaṃ viharati, sakasmiṃyeva vijite viharati.
「诸比库!具足五支的灌顶刹帝利王,无论住于何方,都住于自己的领土。
‘‘Katamehi pañcahi? Idha, bhikkhave, rājā khattiyo muddhāvasitto ubhato sujāto hoti mātito ca pitito ca, saṃsuddhagahaṇiko, yāva sattamā pitāmahayugā akkhitto anupakkuṭṭho jātivādena; aḍḍho hoti mahaddhano mahābhogo paripuṇṇakosakoṭṭhāgāro; balavā kho pana hoti caturaṅginiyā senāya samannāgato assavāya ovādapaṭikarāya; pariṇāyako kho panassa hoti paṇḍito viyatto medhāvī paṭibalo atītānāgatapaccuppanne atthe cintetuṃ; tassime cattāro dhammā yasaṃ paripācenti. So iminā yasapañcamena dhammena samannāgato yassaṃ yassaṃ disāyaṃ viharati, sakasmiṃyeva vijite viharati. Taṃ kissa hetu? Evañhetaṃ, bhikkhave, hoti vijitāvīnaṃ.
「以哪五种呢?诸比库,在此,灌顶的刹帝利王双方善生,从母方和父方都血统纯正,直到七世父母系都无可指责、无可非难其出身;富有,拥有大财富、大资产,仓库和粮仓充满;而且有力,拥有四支军队,能听从劝告;而且他的顾问是贤明的、有经验的、有智慧的,能够思考过去、未来、现在的利益;这四法使他的名声成熟。他具足这第五种名声法,无论住在哪个方向,都住在自己的征服地。那是什么原因呢?诸比库,征服者就是这样的。
‘‘Evamevaṃ kho, bhikkhave, pañcahi dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu yassaṃ yassaṃ disāyaṃ viharati, vimuttacittova viharati. Katamehi pañcahi? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu sīlavā hoti, pātimokkhasaṃvarasaṃvuto viharati ācāragocarasampanno aṇumattesu vajjesu bhayadassāvī, samādāya sikkhati sikkhāpadesu – rājāva khattiyo muddhāvasitto jātisampanno; bahussuto hoti sutadharo sutasannicayo, ye te dhammā ādikalyāṇā majjhekalyāṇā pariyosānakalyāṇā sātthaṃ sabyañjanaṃ kevalaparipuṇṇaṃ parisuddhaṃ brahmacariyaṃ abhivadanti, tathārūpāssa dhammā bahussutā honti dhātā vacasā paricitā manasānupekkhitā diṭṭhiyā suppaṭividdhā – rājāva khattiyo muddhāvasitto aḍḍho mahaddhano mahābhogo paripuṇṇakosakoṭṭhāgāro; āraddhavīriyo viharati akusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ pahānāya kusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ upasampadāya thāmavā daḷhaparakkamo anikkhittadhuro kusalesu dhammesu – rājāva khattiyo muddhāvasitto balasampanno; paññavā hoti udayatthagāminiyā paññāya samannāgato ariyāya nibbedhikāya sammā dukkhakkhayagāminiyā – rājāva khattiyo muddhāvasitto pariṇāyakasampanno; tassime cattāro dhammā vimuttiṃ paripācenti . So iminā vimuttipañcamena dhammena samannāgato yassaṃ yassaṃ disāyaṃ viharati vimuttacittova viharati. Taṃ kissa hetu? Evañhetaṃ, bhikkhave, hoti vimuttacittāna’’nti. Catutthaṃ.
「诸比库!同样地,具足五法的比库,无论住于何方,都以解脱心而住。哪五法?诸比库!这里,比库持戒,以巴帝摩卡律仪防护而住,具足行处与所行,于微细的罪过中见怖畏,受持学习于诸学处——犹如灌顶的刹帝利王具足出生;多闻,持闻,积闻,凡那些法初善、中善、后善,有义、有文,宣说纯满、清净的梵行,如是诸法已多闻,已忆持,以言通利,以意观察,以见善通达——犹如灌顶的刹帝利王富有、大富、多财、充满库藏与仓库;精进而住,为断不善法、为具足善法而精进,有力、坚固精勤,于诸善法不舍负担——犹如灌顶的刹帝利王具足力量;有慧,具足导向生灭的慧,圣的、决择的、正导至苦尽的慧——犹如灌顶的刹帝利王具足谋略;这四法使解脱成熟。他具足这以解脱为第五的法,无论住于何方,都以解脱心而住。那是什么原因?诸比库!解脱心者就是如此。」第四经。

‘‘Pañcahi, bhikkhave, aṅgehi samannāgato rañño khattiyassa muddhāvasittassa jeṭṭho putto rajjaṃ pattheti. Katamehi pañcahi? Idha, bhikkhave, rañño khattiyassa muddhāvasittassa jeṭṭho putto ubhato sujāto hoti mātito ca pitito ca, saṃsuddhagahaṇiko, yāva sattamā pitāmahayugā akkhitto anupakkuṭṭho jātivādena; abhirūpo hoti dassanīyo pāsādiko paramāya vaṇṇapokkharatāya samannāgato; mātāpitūnaṃ piyo hoti manāpo; negamajānapadassa piyo hoti manāpo; yāni tāni raññaṃ khattiyānaṃ muddhāvasittānaṃ sippaṭṭhānāni hatthismiṃ vā assasmiṃ vā rathasmiṃ vā dhanusmiṃ vā tharusmiṃ vā tattha sikkhito hoti anavayo.
「诸比库!具足五支的灌顶刹帝利王的长子期望王位。哪五支?诸比库!这里,灌顶刹帝利王的长子两边善生,从母方与父方,血统纯净,直至七代父母系无可指责、无可非难于出生;相貌端正,好看,悦意,具足最胜的容色;为父母所爱、所喜;为城邑与乡村所爱、所喜;于那些灌顶刹帝利王的技艺处,或于象、或于马、或于车、或于弓、或于剑,于此已学习、无缺。
‘‘Tassa evaṃ hoti – ‘ahaṃ khomhi ubhato sujāto mātito ca pitito ca, saṃsuddhagahaṇiko, yāva sattamā pitāmahayugā akkhitto anupakkuṭṭho jātivādena. Kasmāhaṃ rajjaṃ na pattheyyaṃ! Ahaṃ khomhi abhirūpo dassanīyo pāsādiko paramāya vaṇṇapokkharatāya samannāgato. Kasmāhaṃ rajjaṃ na pattheyyaṃ! Ahaṃ khomhi mātāpitūnaṃ piyo manāpo. Kasmāhaṃ rajjaṃ na pattheyyaṃ! Ahaṃ khomhi negamajānapadassa piyo manāpo. Kasmāhaṃ rajjaṃ na pattheyyaṃ! Ahaṃ khomhi yāni tāni raññaṃ khattiyānaṃ muddhāvasittānaṃ sippaṭṭhānāni hatthismiṃ vā assasmiṃ vā rathasmiṃ vā dhanusmiṃ vā tharusmiṃ vā, tattha sikkhito anavayo. Kasmāhaṃ rajjaṃ na pattheyya’nti! Imehi kho, bhikkhave, pañcahi aṅgehi samannāgato rañño khattiyassa muddhāvasittassa jeṭṭho putto rajjaṃ pattheti.
「他如此想:『我两边善生,从母方与父方,血统纯净,直至七代父母系无可指责、无可非难于出生。我为何不期望王位!我相貌端正,好看,悦意,具足最胜的容色。我为何不期望王位!我为父母所爱、所喜。我为何不期望王位!我为城邑与乡村所爱、所喜。我为何不期望王位!我于那些灌顶刹帝利王的技艺处,或于象、或于马、或于车、或于弓、或于剑,于此已学习、无缺。我为何不期望王位!』诸比库!具足这五支的灌顶刹帝利王的长子期望王位。
‘‘Evamevaṃ kho, bhikkhave, pañcahi dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu āsavānaṃ khayaṃ pattheti. Katamehi pañcahi? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu saddho hoti, saddahati tathāgatassa bodhiṃ – ‘itipi so bhagavā arahaṃ sammāsambuddho vijjācaraṇasampanno sugato lokavidū anuttaro purisadammasārathi satthā devamanussānaṃ buddho bhagavā’ti. Appābādho hoti appātaṅko, samavepākiniyā gahaṇiyā samannāgato nātisītāya nāccuṇhāya majjhimāya padhānakkhamāya; asaṭho hoti amāyāvī, yathābhūtaṃ attānaṃ āvikattā satthari vā viññūsu vā sabrahmacārīsu; āraddhavīriyo viharati akusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ pahānāya, kusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ upasampadāya, thāmavā daḷhaparakkamo anikkhittadhuro kusalesu dhammesu; paññavā hoti udayatthagāminiyā paññāya samannāgato ariyāya nibbedhikāya sammā dukkhakkhayagāminiyā.
「诸比库!同样地,具足五法的比库期望诸漏尽。哪五法?诸比库!这里,比库有信,信如来的菩提——『如是,彼世尊是阿拉汉、正等正觉者、明行具足者、善逝、世间解、无上士、调御丈夫者、天人师、佛、世尊』;少病、少恼,具足不太冷、不太热、中等的、堪忍精勤的消化力;不狡诈、不虚伪,如实地向导师、或诸智者、或诸梵行者显示自己;精进而住,为断不善法、为具足善法而精进,有力、坚固精勤,于诸善法不舍负担;有慧,具足导向生灭的慧,圣的、决择的、正导至苦尽的慧。
‘‘Tassa evaṃ hoti – ‘ahaṃ khomhi saddho, saddahāmi tathāgatassa bodhiṃ – itipi so bhagavā arahaṃ sammāsambuddho…pe… satthā devamanussānaṃ buddho bhagavā’ti. ‘Kasmāhaṃ āsavānaṃ khayaṃ na pattheyyaṃ! Ahaṃ khomhi appābādho appātaṅko samavepākiniyā gahaṇiyā samannāgato nātisītāya nāccuṇhāya majjhimāya padhānakkhamāya. Kasmāhaṃ āsavānaṃ khayaṃ na pattheyyaṃ! Ahaṃ khomhi asaṭho amāyāvī yathābhūtaṃ attānaṃ āvikattā satthari vā viññūsu vā sabrahmacārīsu. Kasmāhaṃ āsavānaṃ khayaṃ na pattheyyaṃ! Ahaṃ khomhi āraddhavīriyo viharāmi akusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ pahānāya, kusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ upasampadāya, thāmavā daḷhaparakkamo anikkhittadhuro kusalesu dhammesu. Kasmāhaṃ āsavānaṃ khayaṃ na pattheyyaṃ! Ahaṃ khomhi paññavā udayatthagāminiyā paññāya samannāgato ariyāya nibbedhikāya sammā dukkhakkhayagāminiyā. Kasmāhaṃ āsavānaṃ khayaṃ na pattheyya’nti! Imehi kho, bhikkhave, pañcahi dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu āsavānaṃ khayaṃ patthetī’’ti. Pañcamaṃ.

Idha, bhikkhave, rañño khattiyassa muddhāvasittassa jeṭṭho putto ubhato sujāto hoti mātito ca pitito ca, saṃsuddhagahaṇiko, yāva sattamā pitāmahayugā akkhitto anupakkuṭṭho jātivādena; abhirūpo hoti dassanīyo pāsādiko paramāya vaṇṇapokkharatāya samannāgato; mātāpitūnaṃ piyo hoti manāpo, balakāyassa piyo hoti manāpo; paṇḍito hoti viyatto medhāvī paṭibalo atītānāgatapaccuppanne atthe cintetuṃ.
「诸比库!具足五支的灌顶刹帝利王的长子期望副王位。哪五支?诸比库!这里,灌顶刹帝利王的长子两边善生,从母方与父方,血统纯净,直至七代父母系无可指责、无可非难于出生;相貌端正,好看,悦意,具足最胜的容色;为父母所爱、所喜;为军队所爱、所喜;贤明、聪慧、有智,能够思考过去、未来、现在的利益。
‘‘Tassa evaṃ hoti – ‘ahaṃ khomhi ubhato sujāto mātito ca pitito ca, saṃsuddhagahaṇiko, yāva sattamā pitāmahayugā akkhitto anupakkuṭṭho jātivādena. Kasmāhaṃ oparajjaṃ na pattheyyaṃ! Ahaṃ khomhi balakāyassa piyo manāpo. Kasmāhaṃ oparajjaṃ na pattheyyaṃ! Ahaṃ khomhi paṇḍito viyatto medhāvī paṭibalo atītānāgatapaccuppanne atthe cintetuṃ. Kasmāhaṃ oparajjaṃ na pattheyya’nti! Imehi kho, bhikkhave, pañcahi aṅgehi samannāgato rañño khattiyassa muddhāvasittassa jeṭṭho putto oparajjaṃ pattheti.
「他如此想:『我两边善生,从母方与父方,血统纯净,直至七代父母系无可指责、无可非难于出生。我为何不期望副王位!我相貌端正,好看,悦意,具足最胜的容色。我为何不期望副王位!我为父母所爱、所喜。我为何不期望副王位!我为军队所爱、所喜。我为何不期望副王位!我贤明、聪慧、有智,能够思考过去、未来、现在的利益。我为何不期望副王位!』诸比库!具足这五支的灌顶刹帝利王的长子期望副王位。
‘‘Evamevaṃ kho, bhikkhave, pañcahi dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu āsavānaṃ khayaṃ pattheti. Katamehi pañcahi? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu sīlavā hoti…pe… samādāya sikkhati sikkhāpadesu; bahussuto hoti…pe… diṭṭhiyā suppaṭividdhā; catūsu satipaṭṭhānesu suppatiṭṭhitacitto hoti; āraddhavīriyo viharati akusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ pahānāya, kusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ upasampadāya, thāmavā daḷhaparakkamo anikkhittadhuro kusalesu dhammesu; paññavā hoti, udayatthagāminiyā paññāya samannāgato ariyāya nibbedhikāya sammā dukkhakkhayagāminiyā.
「诸比库!同样地,具足五法的比库期望诸漏尽。哪五法?诸比库!这里,比库持戒……受持学习于诸学处;多闻……以见善通达;于须跋善住立心;精进而住,为断不善法、为具足善法而精进,有力、坚固精勤,于诸善法不舍负担;有慧,具足导向生灭的慧,圣的、决择的、正导至苦尽的慧。

Ahaṃ khomhi bahussuto sutadharo sutasannicayo, ye te dhammā ādikalyāṇā majjhekalyāṇā pariyosānakalyāṇā sātthaṃ sabyañjanaṃ kevalaparipuṇṇaṃ parisuddhaṃ brahmacariyaṃ abhivadanti, tathārūpā me dhammā bahussutā honti dhātā vacasā paricitā manasānupekkhitā diṭṭhiyā suppaṭividdhā. Kasmāhaṃ āsavānaṃ khayaṃ na pattheyyaṃ! Ahaṃ khomhi catūsu satipaṭṭhānesu suppatiṭṭhitacitto. Kasmāhaṃ āsavānaṃ khayaṃ na pattheyyaṃ! Ahaṃ khomhi āraddhavīriyo viharāmi akusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ pahānāya, kusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ upasampadāya, thāmavā daḷhaparakkamo anikkhittadhuro kusalesu dhammesu. Kasmāhaṃ āsavānaṃ khayaṃ na pattheyyaṃ! 「他如此想:『我确实是持戒者,以巴帝摩卡律仪防护而住,具足正行与行处,于微细的罪过中见怖畏,受持学习于诸学处。为何我不应希求诸漏尽?我确实是多闻者,持闻者,积聚闻者,凡那些法初善、中善、后善,有义、有文,宣说完全圆满、遍净的梵行,如是诸法我已多闻、已忆持、以语熟习、以意思惟、以见善通达。为何我不应希求诸漏尽?我确实是于须跋善安住心者。为何我不应希求诸漏尽?我确实是精进而住者,为断不善法、为具足善法而精进,有力、坚固精勤,于诸善法不舍负担。为何我不应希求诸漏尽?我确实是有慧者,具足导向生灭之慧,圣者、抉择者、正导至苦尽者。为何我不应希求诸漏尽?』诸比库!具足此五法之比库应希求诸漏尽。」第六经。

「诸比库!此五者于夜少睡,多醒。哪五者?诸比库!女人以男子为意向,于夜少睡,多醒。诸比库!男子以女人为意向,于夜少睡,多醒。诸比库!盗贼以盗取为意向,于夜少睡,多醒。诸比库!国王专注于王事,于夜少睡,多醒。诸比库!比库以离系为意向,于夜少睡,多醒。诸比库!此五者于夜少睡,多醒。」第七经。

Idha, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo akkhamo hoti rūpānaṃ, akkhamo saddānaṃ, akkhamo gandhānaṃ, akkhamo rasānaṃ, akkhamo phoṭṭhabbānaṃ. 「诸比库!王象如何不能忍受诸色?诸比库!于此,王象到战场后,见象军或见马军或见车军或见步军,即沮丧、消沉,不能坚立,不能进入战斗。诸比库!王象如此不能忍受诸色。
‘‘Kathañca, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo akkhamo hoti saddānaṃ? Idha, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo saṅgāmagato hatthisaddaṃ vā sutvā assasaddaṃ vā sutvā rathasaddaṃ vā sutvā pattisaddaṃ vā sutvā bheripaṇavasaṅkhatiṇavaninnādasaddaṃ vā sutvā saṃsīdati visīdati, na santhambhati na sakkoti saṅgāmaṃ otarituṃ. Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo akkhamo hoti saddānaṃ.
「诸比库!王象如何不能忍受诸声?诸比库!于此,王象到战场后,闻象声或闻马声或闻车声或闻步兵声或闻鼓、小鼓、螺、铜锣之声,即沮丧、消沉,不能坚立,不能进入战斗。诸比库!王象如此不能忍受诸声。
‘‘Kathañca, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo akkhamo hoti gandhānaṃ? Idha , bhikkhave, rañño nāgo saṅgāmagato ye te rañño nāgā abhijātā saṅgāmāvacarā tesaṃ muttakarīsassa gandhaṃ ghāyitvā saṃsīdati visīdati, na santhambhati na sakkoti saṅgāmaṃ otarituṃ. Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo akkhamo hoti gandhānaṃ.
「诸比库!王象如何不能忍受诸香?诸比库!于此,王象到战场后,嗅到那些出身良好、惯于战斗之王象的尿粪之香,即沮丧、消沉,不能坚立,不能进入战斗。诸比库!王象如此不能忍受诸香。
‘‘Kathañca, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo akkhamo hoti rasānaṃ? Idha, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo saṅgāmagato ekissā vā tiṇodakadattiyā vimānito dvīhi vā tīhi vā catūhi vā pañcahi vā tiṇodakadattīhi vimānito saṃsīdati visīdati, na santhambhati na sakkoti saṅgāmaṃ otarituṃ. Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo akkhamo hoti rasānaṃ.
「诸比库,王象如何不能忍受诸味?诸比库,于此,王象去到战场,被一次草水的给予所轻慢,或被二次、三次、四次、五次草水的给予所轻慢,他沉没、消沉,不能坚立,不能进入战斗。诸比库,王象如此不能忍受诸味。
‘‘Kathañca, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo akkhamo hoti phoṭṭhabbānaṃ? Idha, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo saṅgāmagato ekena vā saravegena viddho, dvīhi vā tīhi vā catūhi vā pañcahi vā saravegehi viddho saṃsīdati visīdati, na santhambhati na sakkoti saṅgāmaṃ otarituṃ. Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo akkhamo hoti phoṭṭhabbānaṃ.
「诸比库,王象如何不能忍受诸触?诸比库,于此,王象去到战场,被一支箭的力量所射中,或被二支、三支、四支、五支箭的力量所射中,他沉没、消沉,不能坚立,不能进入战斗。诸比库,王象如此不能忍受诸触。
‘‘Imehi kho, bhikkhave, pañcahi aṅgehi samannāgato rañño nāgo na rājāraho hoti na rājabhoggo na rañño aṅgaṃtveva saṅkhaṃ gacchati.

Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu akkhamo hoti rūpānaṃ, akkhamo saddānaṃ, akkhamo gandhānaṃ, akkhamo rasānaṃ, akkhamo phoṭṭhabbānaṃ.

「诸比库,比库如何不能忍受诸声?诸比库,于此,比库以耳闻声后,对可染的诸声生染,不能令心得定。诸比库,比库如此不能忍受诸声。

「诸比库,比库如何不能忍受诸香?诸比库,于此,比库以鼻嗅香后,对可染的诸香生染,不能令心得定。诸比库,比库如此不能忍受诸香。
‘‘Kathañca, bhikkhave, bhikkhu akkhamo hoti rasānaṃ? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu jivhāya rasaṃ sāyitvā rajanīye rase sārajjati, na sakkoti cittaṃ samādahituṃ. Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu akkhamo hoti rasānaṃ.
「诸比库,比库如何不能忍受诸味?诸比库,于此,比库以舌尝味后,对可染的诸味生染,不能令心得定。诸比库,比库如此不能忍受诸味。
‘‘Kathañca , bhikkhave, bhikkhu akkhamo hoti phoṭṭhabbānaṃ? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu kāyena phoṭṭhabbaṃ phusitvā rajanīye phoṭṭhabbe sārajjati, na sakkoti cittaṃ samādahituṃ. Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu akkhamo hoti phoṭṭhabbānaṃ.
「诸比库,比库如何是不能忍耐诸触所缘呢?诸比库,于此,比库以身触到触所缘后,对于能引起染着的触所缘而染着,不能使心得定。诸比库,比库如此是不能忍耐诸触所缘。
‘‘Imehi kho, bhikkhave, pañcahi dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu na āhuneyyo hoti na pāhuneyyo na dakkhiṇeyyo na añjalikaraṇīyo na anuttaraṃ puññakkhettaṃ lokassa.
「诸比库,具足这五法的比库不值得供养、不值得供奉、不值得布施、不值得合掌、不是世间的无上福田。
‘‘Pañcahi , bhikkhave, aṅgehi samannāgato rañño nāgo rājāraho hoti rājabhoggo, rañño aṅgaṃtveva saṅkhaṃ gacchati. Katamehi pañcahi? Idha, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo khamo hoti rūpānaṃ, khamo saddānaṃ, khamo gandhānaṃ, khamo rasānaṃ, khamo phoṭṭhabbānaṃ.
「诸比库,具足五支的王象值得为王所用、为王受用,被算作王的部属。哪五支呢?诸比库,于此,王象能忍耐诸色、能忍耐诸声、能忍耐诸香、能忍耐诸味、能忍耐诸触所缘。

‘‘Kathañca, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo khamo hoti gandhānaṃ? Idha, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo saṅgāmagato ye te rañño nāgā abhijātā saṅgāmāvacarā tesaṃ muttakarīsassa gandhaṃ ghāyitvā na saṃsīdati na visīdati, santhambhati sakkoti saṅgāmaṃ otarituṃ. Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo khamo hoti gandhānaṃ.
「诸比库,王象如何能忍耐诸香呢?诸比库,于此,王象到了战场,嗅到那些王的良种象、惯于战斗的象的尿粪之气味后,不沮丧、不气馁,坚定,能够投入战斗。诸比库,王象如此能忍耐诸香。
‘‘Kathañca, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo khamo hoti rasānaṃ? Idha, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo saṅgāmagato ekissā vā tiṇodakadattiyā vimānito dvīhi vā tīhi vā catūhi vā pañcahi vā tiṇodakadattīhi vimānito na saṃsīdati na visīdati, santhambhati sakkoti saṅgāmaṃ otarituṃ. 「诸比库,王象如何能忍耐诸味呢?诸比库,于此,王象到了战场,被剥夺一次草水的给予,或被剥夺二次、三次、四次、五次草水的给予,不沮丧、不气馁,坚定,能够投入战斗。诸比库,王象如此能忍耐诸味。

Idha, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo saṅgāmagato ekena vā saravegena viddho, dvīhi vā tīhi vā catūhi vā pañcahi vā saravegehi viddho na saṃsīdati na visīdati, santhambhati sakkoti saṅgāmaṃ otarituṃ. 「诸比库,王象如何能忍耐诸触所缘呢?诸比库,于此,王象到了战场,被一支箭射中,或被二支、三支、四支、五支箭射中,不沮丧、不气馁,坚定,能够投入战斗。诸比库,王象如此能忍耐诸触所缘。

‘‘Evamevaṃ kho, bhikkhave, pañcahi dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu āhuneyyo hoti pāhuneyyo dakkhiṇeyyo añjalikaraṇīyo anuttaraṃ puññakkhettaṃ lokassa. Katamehi pañcahi? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu khamo hoti rūpānaṃ, khamo saddānaṃ, khamo gandhānaṃ, khamo rasānaṃ, khamo phoṭṭhabbānaṃ .
「诸比库!同样地,具足五法的比库,应受供养、应受供奉、应受布施、应受合掌,是世间的无上福田。哪五种?诸比库!这里,比库能忍耐诸色,能忍耐诸声,能忍耐诸香,能忍耐诸味,能忍耐诸触。
‘‘Kathañca, bhikkhave, bhikkhu khamo hoti rūpānaṃ? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu cakkhunā rūpaṃ disvā rajanīye rūpe na sārajjati, sakkoti cittaṃ samādahituṃ. Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu khamo hoti rūpānaṃ.
「诸比库!比库如何能忍耐诸色?诸比库!这里,比库以眼见色后,对于能引起染着的诸色不染着,能够使心得定。诸比库!比库如此能忍耐诸色。
‘‘Kathañca, bhikkhave, bhikkhu khamo hoti saddānaṃ? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu sotena saddaṃ sutvā rajanīye sadde na sārajjati, sakkoti cittaṃ samādahituṃ. Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu khamo hoti saddānaṃ.
「诸比库!比库如何能忍耐诸声?诸比库!这里,比库以耳闻声后,对于能引起染着的诸声不染着,能够使心得定。诸比库!比库如此能忍耐诸声。
‘‘Kathañca, bhikkhave, bhikkhu khamo hoti gandhānaṃ. Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu ghānena gandhaṃ ghāyitvā rajanīye gandhe na sārajjati, sakkoti cittaṃ samādahituṃ. Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu khamo hoti gandhānaṃ.
「诸比库!比库如何能忍耐诸香?诸比库!这里,比库以鼻嗅香后,对于能引起染着的诸香不染着,能够使心得定。诸比库!比库如此能忍耐诸香。
‘‘Kathañca , bhikkhave, bhikkhu khamo hoti rasānaṃ? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu jivhāya rasaṃ sāyitvā rajanīye rase na sārajjati, sakkoti cittaṃ samādahituṃ. Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu khamo hoti rasānaṃ.
「诸比库!比库如何能忍耐诸味?诸比库!这里,比库以舌尝味后,对于能引起染着的诸味不染着,能够使心得定。诸比库!比库如此能忍耐诸味。
‘‘Kathañca, bhikkhave, bhikkhu khamo hoti phoṭṭhabbānaṃ? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu kāyena phoṭṭhabbaṃ phusitvā rajanīye phoṭṭhabbe na sārajjati, sakkoti cittaṃ samādahituṃ. Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu khamo hoti phoṭṭhabbānaṃ.
「诸比库!比库如何能忍耐诸触?诸比库!这里,比库以身触所触后,对于能引起染着的诸触不染着,能够使心得定。诸比库!比库如此能忍耐诸触。
‘‘Imehi kho, bhikkhave, pañcahi dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu āhuneyyo hoti pāhuneyyo dakkhiṇeyyo añjalikaraṇīyo anuttaraṃ puññakkhettaṃ lokassā’’ti. Navamaṃ.

‘‘Pañcahi, bhikkhave, aṅgehi samannāgato rañño nāgo rājāraho hoti rājabhoggo, rañño aṅgaṃtveva saṅkhaṃ gacchati. Katamehi pañcahi? Idha, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo sotā ca hoti, hantā ca, rakkhitā ca, khantā ca, gantā ca.
「诸比库!具足五支的王象,堪为王用、堪为王享、被算为王的部属。哪五种呢?诸比库!在此,王象是听者、杀者、守护者、忍者、行者。
‘‘Kathañca, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo sotā hoti? Idha, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo yamenaṃ hatthidammasārathi kāraṇaṃ kāreti – yadi vā katapubbaṃ yadi vā akatapubbaṃ – taṃ aṭṭhiṃ katvā manasi katvā sabbaṃ cetasā samannāharitvā ohitasoto suṇāti. Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo sotā hoti.
「诸比库!王象如何是听者呢?诸比库!在此,王象对于驯象师令其做的事——无论是以前做过的,或是以前未做过的——作意、思惟、以全心专注、倾耳而听。诸比库!王象如此是听者。
‘‘Kathañca, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo hantā hoti? Idha, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo saṅgāmagato hatthimpi hanati , hatthāruhampi hanati, assampi hanati, assāruhampi hanati, rathampi hanati, rathikampi hanati, pattikampi hanati. Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo hantā hoti.
「诸比库!王象如何是杀者呢?诸比库!在此,王象在战场上杀象、杀象骑者、杀马、杀马骑者、杀战车、杀战车兵、杀步兵。诸比库!王象如此是杀者。
‘‘Kathañca, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo rakkhitā hoti? Idha, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo saṅgāmagato rakkhati purimaṃ kāyaṃ, rakkhati pacchimaṃ kāyaṃ, rakkhati purime pāde, rakkhati pacchime pāde, rakkhati sīsaṃ, rakkhati kaṇṇe, rakkhati dante, rakkhati soṇḍaṃ, rakkhati vāladhiṃ, rakkhati hatthāruhaṃ. Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo rakkhitā hoti.
「诸比库!王象如何是守护者呢?诸比库!在此,王象在战场上守护前身、守护后身、守护前足、守护后足、守护头、守护耳、守护牙、守护鼻、守护尾、守护象骑者。诸比库!王象如此是守护者。
‘‘Kathañca , bhikkhave, rañño nāgo khantā hoti? Idha, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo saṅgāmagato khamo hoti sattippahārānaṃ asippahārānaṃ usuppahārānaṃ pharasuppahārānaṃ bheripaṇavasaṅkhatiṇavaninnādasaddānaṃ. Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo khantā hoti.
「诸比库!王象如何是忍者呢?诸比库!在此,王象在战场上能忍受矛击、剑击、箭击、斧击、鼓声、锣声、螺声、小鼓声的喧闹声。诸比库!王象如此是忍者。
‘‘Kathañca, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo gantā hoti? Idha, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo yamenaṃ hatthidammasārathi disaṃ peseti – yadi vā gatapubbaṃ yadi vā agatapubbaṃ – taṃ khippameva gantā hoti. Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, rañño nāgo gantā hoti.
「诸比库!王象如何是行者呢?诸比库!在此,王象对于驯象师派遣它去的方向——无论是以前去过的,或是以前未去过的——它迅速地行去。诸比库!王象如此是行者。

「诸比库,比库如何是听者?诸比库,于此,比库对如来所宣说的法与律被教导时,作意、用心、以全心全意倾听法。诸比库,比库如此是听者。
‘‘Kathañca, bhikkhave, bhikkhu hantā hoti? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu uppannaṃ kāmavitakkaṃ nādhivāseti, pajahati vinodeti (hanati) byantīkaroti anabhāvaṃ gameti; uppannaṃ byāpādavitakkaṃ…pe… uppannaṃ vihiṃsāvitakkaṃ…pe… uppannuppanne pāpake akusale dhamme nādhivāseti , pajahati vinodeti (hanati) byantīkaroti anabhāvaṃ gameti. Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu hantā hoti.
「诸比库,比库如何是杀者?诸比库,于此,比库对已生起的欲寻不容忍,舍断、除去、(杀)、使之灭尽、使之不存在;对已生起的嗔寻……对已生起的害寻……对已生起的诸恶不善法不容忍,舍断、除去、(杀)、使之灭尽、使之不存在。诸比库,比库如此是杀者。
‘‘Kathañca , bhikkhave, bhikkhu rakkhitā hoti? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu cakkhunā rūpaṃ disvā na nimittaggāhī hoti nānubyañjanaggāhī. Yatvādhikaraṇamenaṃ cakkhundriyaṃ asaṃvutaṃ viharantaṃ abhijjhādomanassā pāpakā akusalā dhammā anvāssaveyyuṃ, tassa saṃvarāya paṭipajjati; rakkhati cakkhundriyaṃ; cakkhundriye saṃvaraṃ āpajjati. Sotena saddaṃ sutvā… ghānena gandhaṃ ghāyitvā… jivhāya rasaṃ sāyitvā… kāyena phoṭṭhabbaṃ phusitvā… manasā dhammaṃ viññāya na nimittaggāhī hoti nānubyañjanaggāhī. Yatvādhikaraṇamenaṃ manindriyaṃ asaṃvutaṃ viharantaṃ abhijjhādomanassā pāpakā akusalā dhammā anvāssaveyyuṃ, tassa saṃvarāya paṭipajjati; rakkhati manindriyaṃ; manindriye saṃvaraṃ āpajjati. 「诸比库,比库如何是守护者?诸比库,于此,比库以眼见色后,不取相,不取随相。因为若住于不防护此眼根者,贪忧、诸恶不善法会流入,他为其防护而行道;守护眼根;在眼根上达到防护。以耳闻声后……以鼻嗅香后……以舌尝味后……以身触所触后……以意识法后,不取相,不取随相。因为若住于不防护此意根者,贪忧、诸恶不善法会流入,他为其防护而行道;守护意根;在意根上达到防护。诸比库,比库如此是守护者。
‘‘Kathañca, bhikkhave, bhikkhu khantā hoti? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu khamo hoti sītassa uṇhassa jighacchāya pipāsāya ḍaṃsamakasavātātapasarīsa pasamphassānaṃ; duruttānaṃ durāgatānaṃ vacanapathānaṃ uppannānaṃ sārīrikānaṃ vedanānaṃ dukkhānaṃ tibbānaṃ kharānaṃ kaṭukānaṃ asātānaṃ amanāpānaṃ pāṇaharānaṃ adhivāsakajātiko hoti. Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu khantā hoti.
「诸比库,比库如何是忍者?诸比库,于此,比库能忍耐寒、热、饥、渴、虻、蚊、风、日晒、爬虫类的接触;能忍受粗恶、不适意的言语;已生起的身体的诸受——苦的、激烈的、粗重的、辛辣的、不悦意的、不可意的、夺命的——他是能忍受之性者。诸比库,比库如此是忍者。
‘‘Kathañca, bhikkhave, bhikkhu gantā hoti? Idha , bhikkhave, bhikkhu yā sā disā agatapubbā iminā dīghena addhunā, yadidaṃ sabbasaṅkhārasamatho sabbūpadhipaṭinissaggo taṇhākkhayo virāgo nirodho nibbānaṃ, taṃ khippaññeva gantā hoti. Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu gantā hoti.
「诸比库,比库如何是行者?诸比库,于此,比库对那在此长时中未曾到达过的方向,即:一切行的止息、一切依的舍弃、渴爱的灭尽、离贪、灭、涅槃,他是迅速前往者。诸比库,比库如此是行者。
‘‘Imehi kho, bhikkhave, pañcahi dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu āhuneyyo hoti…pe… anuttaraṃ puññakkhettaṃ lokassā’’ti. Dasamaṃ.
