1. Paṭhamauruvelasuttaṃ1. 第一伍卢韦喇经
§21
Evaṃ me sutaṃ – ekaṃ samayaṃ bhagavā sāvatthiyaṃ viharati jetavane anāthapiṇḍikassa ārāme. Tatra kho bhagavā bhikkhū āmantesi – ‘‘bhikkhavo’’ti. ‘‘Bhadante’’ti te bhikkhū bhagavato paccassosuṃ. Bhagavā etadavoca –
如是我闻——一时,世尊住在沙瓦提城揭德林给孤独园。在那里,世尊称呼比库们:「诸比库!」「尊者!」那些比库回答世尊。世尊如此说:
‘‘Ekamidāhaṃ , bhikkhave, samayaṃ uruvelāyaṃ viharāmi najjā nerañjarāya tīre ajapālanigrodhe paṭhamābhisambuddho. Tassa mayhaṃ, bhikkhave, rahogatassa paṭisallīnassa evaṃ cetaso parivitakko udapādi – ‘dukkhaṃ kho agāravo viharati appatisso. Kiṃ nu kho ahaṃ samaṇaṃ vā brāhmaṇaṃ vā sakkatvā garuṃ katvā upanissāya vihareyya’’’nti?
「诸比库!一时,我住在伍卢韦喇,在内兰迦拉河岸边的牧羊人榕树下,初成正觉。诸比库!当时,我独自隐退,在心中生起如此的寻思:『不恭敬而住是苦的,无尊重而住是苦的。我应当恭敬、尊重哪位沙门或婆罗门而依止而住呢?』」
‘‘Tassa mayhaṃ, bhikkhave, etadahosi – aparipūrassa kho ahaṃ sīlakkhandhassa pāripūriyā aññaṃ samaṇaṃ vā brāhmaṇaṃ vā sakkatvā garuṃ katvā upanissāya vihareyyaṃ. Na kho panāhaṃ passāmi sadevake loke samārake sabrahmake sassamaṇabrāhmaṇiyā pajāya sadevamanussāya aññaṃ samaṇaṃ vā brāhmaṇaṃ vā attanā sīlasampannataraṃ, yamahaṃ sakkatvā garuṃ katvā upanissāya vihareyyaṃ.
「诸比库!我这样想:『为了圆满未圆满的戒蕴,我应当恭敬、尊重另一位沙门或婆罗门而依止而住。然而,在这包括天的世间、包括魔的世间、包括梵天的世间、包括沙门婆罗门的人类、包括天人的世间中,我看不到另一位比我戒更具足的沙门或婆罗门,我可以恭敬、尊重他而依止而住。』
‘‘Aparipūrassa kho ahaṃ samādhikkhandhassa pāripūriyā aññaṃ samaṇaṃ vā brāhmaṇaṃ vā sakkatvā garuṃ katvā upanissāya vihareyyaṃ. Na kho panāhaṃ passāmi sadevake loke samārake sabrahmake sassamaṇabrāhmaṇiyā pajāya sadevamanussāya aññaṃ samaṇaṃ vā brāhmaṇaṃ vā attanā samādhisampannataraṃ, yamahaṃ sakkatvā garuṃ katvā upanissāya vihareyyaṃ.
「『为了圆满未圆满的定蕴,我应当恭敬、尊重另一位沙门或婆罗门而依止而住。然而,在这包括天的世间、包括魔的世间、包括梵天的世间、包括沙门婆罗门的人类、包括天人的世间中,我看不到另一位比我定更具足的沙门或婆罗门,我可以恭敬、尊重他而依止而住。』
‘‘Aparipūrassa kho ahaṃ paññākkhandhassa pāripūriyā aññaṃ samaṇaṃ vā brāhmaṇaṃ vā sakkatvā garuṃ katvā upanissāya vihareyyaṃ. Na kho panāhaṃ passāmi sadevake loke samārake sabrahmake sassamaṇabrāhmaṇiyā pajāya sadevamanussāya aññaṃ samaṇaṃ vā brāhmaṇaṃ vā attanā paññāsampannataraṃ, yamahaṃ sakkatvā garuṃ katvā upanissāya vihareyyaṃ.
「『为了圆满未圆满的慧蕴,我应当恭敬、尊重另一位沙门或婆罗门而依止而住。然而,在这包括天的世间、包括魔的世间、包括梵天的世间、包括沙门婆罗门的人类、包括天人的世间中,我看不到另一位比我慧更具足的沙门或婆罗门,我可以恭敬、尊重他而依止而住。』
‘‘Aparipūrassa kho ahaṃ vimuttikkhandhassa pāripūriyā aññaṃ samaṇaṃ vā brāhmaṇaṃ vā sakkatvā garuṃ katvā upanissāya vihareyyaṃ. Na kho panāhaṃ passāmi sadevake loke samārake sabrahmake sassamaṇabrāhmaṇiyā pajāya sadevamanussāya aññaṃ samaṇaṃ vā brāhmaṇaṃ vā attanā vimuttisampannataraṃ, yamahaṃ sakkatvā garuṃ katvā upanissāya vihareyya’’nti.
「『为了圆满未圆满的解脱蕴,我应当恭敬、尊重另一位沙门或婆罗门而依止而住。然而,在这包括天的世间、包括魔的世间、包括梵天的世间、包括沙门婆罗门的人类、包括天人的世间中,我看不到另一位比我解脱更具足的沙门或婆罗门,我可以恭敬、尊重他而依止而住。』
‘‘Tassa mayhaṃ, bhikkhave, etadahosi – ‘yaṃnūnāhaṃ yvāyaṃ dhammo mayā abhisambuddho tameva dhammaṃ sakkatvā garuṃ katvā upanissāya vihareyya’’’nti.
「诸比库!我这样想:『我何不恭敬、尊重这被我正觉的法,依止这法而住呢?』」
‘‘Atha kho, bhikkhave, brahmā sahampati mama cetasā cetoparivitakkamaññāya – seyyathāpi nāma balavā puriso samiñjitaṃ vā bāhaṃ pasāreyya, pasāritaṃ vā bāhaṃ samiñjeyya, evamevaṃ – brahmaloke antarahito mama purato pāturahosi. Atha kho, bhikkhave, brahmā sahampati ekaṃsaṃ uttarāsaṅgaṃ karitvā dakkhiṇaṃ jāṇumaṇḍalaṃ pathaviyaṃ nihantvā yenāhaṃ tenañjaliṃ paṇāmetvā maṃ etadavoca – ‘evametaṃ bhagavā, evametaṃ sugata! Yepi te, bhante, ahesuṃ atītamaddhānaṃ arahanto sammāsambuddhā tepi bhagavanto dhammaṃyeva sakkatvā garuṃ katvā upanissāya vihariṃsu; yepi te, bhante, bhavissanti anāgatamaddhānaṃ arahanto sammāsambuddhā tepi bhagavanto dhammaṃyeva sakkatvā garuṃ katvā upanissāya viharissanti; bhagavāpi, bhante, etarahi arahaṃ sammāsambuddho dhammaṃyeva sakkatvā garuṃ katvā upanissāya viharatū’’’ti. Idamavoca brahmā sahampati. Idaṃ vatvā athāparaṃ etadavoca –
「诸比库!那时,梵天沙汗巴帝以心知我心中的寻思——犹如有力的男子伸展弯曲的手臂,或弯曲伸展的手臂,如此迅速地——从梵天界消失,出现在我面前。诸比库!那时,梵天沙汗巴帝将上衣偏袒一肩,向我合掌,对我如此说:『世尊!正是如此!善逝!正是如此!尊者!那些过去世的阿拉汉、正等正觉者们,那些世尊也正是恭敬、尊重法而依止而住;那些未来世的阿拉汉、正等正觉者们,那些世尊也将恭敬、尊重法而依止而住;尊者!现在的世尊、阿拉汉、正等正觉者,也应当恭敬、尊重法而依止而住!』梵天沙汗巴帝如此说。说了这些之后,又进一步如此说:
‘‘Ye ca atītā sambuddhā, ye ca buddhā anāgatā;
「那些过去的正等正觉者,以及那些未来的诸佛;
Yo cetarahi sambuddho, bahūnaṃ sokanāsano.
现今的这位正等正觉者,是众多人的忧苦破除者。
‘‘Sabbe saddhammagaruno, vihaṃsu viharanti ca;
「一切尊重正法者,过去住、现在住,
Athopi viharissanti, esā buddhāna dhammatā.
未来也将住,这是诸佛的法性。
‘‘Tasmā hi attakāmena , mahattamabhikaṅkhatā;
「因此,对于希求自利者,渴望大利益者,
Saddhammo garukātabbo, saraṃ buddhāna sāsana’’nti.
应当尊重正法,忆念诸佛的教诫。」
‘‘Idamavoca, bhikkhave, brahmā sahampati. Idaṃ vatvā maṃ abhivādetvā padakkhiṇaṃ katvā tatthevantaradhāyi. Atha khvāhaṃ, bhikkhave, brahmuno ca ajjhesanaṃ viditvā attano ca patirūpaṃ yvāyaṃ dhammo mayā abhisambuddho tameva dhammaṃ sakkatvā garuṃ katvā upanissāya vihāsiṃ. Yato ca kho, bhikkhave, saṅghopi mahattena samannāgato, atha me saṅghepi gāravo’’ti. Paṭhamaṃ.
「诸比库!娑诃巴帝梵天说了这些。说了这些之后,礼敬我,作右绕,就在那里消失了。诸比库!那时,我知道了梵天的请求,也知道了适合自己的,我恭敬、尊重、依止我所正等正觉的那个法而住。诸比库!当僧团也具足伟大时,那时我对僧团也有恭敬。」第一。
2. Dutiyauruvelasuttaṃ2. 第二伍卢韦喇经
§22
‘‘Ekamidāhaṃ , bhikkhave, samayaṃ uruvelāyaṃ viharāmi najjā nerañjarāya tīre ajapālanigrodhe paṭhamābhisambuddho. Atha kho, bhikkhave, sambahulā brāhmaṇā jiṇṇā vuddhā mahallakā addhagatā vayoanuppattā yenāhaṃ tenupasaṅkamiṃsu; upasaṅkamitvā mayā saddhiṃ sammodiṃsu. Sammodanīyaṃ kathaṃ sāraṇīyaṃ vītisāretvā ekamantaṃ nisīdiṃsu. Ekamantaṃ nisinnā kho, bhikkhave, te brāhmaṇā maṃ etadavocuṃ – ‘sutaṃ netaṃ , bho gotama – na samaṇo gotamo brāhmaṇe jiṇṇe vuddhe mahallake addhagate vayoanuppatte abhivādeti vā paccuṭṭheti vā āsanena vā nimantetīti. Tayidaṃ, bho gotama, tatheva. Na hi bhavaṃ gotamo brāhmaṇe jiṇṇe vuddhe mahallake addhagate vayoanuppatte abhivādeti vā paccuṭṭheti vā āsanena vā nimanteti. Tayidaṃ, bho gotama, na sampannamevā’’’ti.
「诸比库!一时,我住在郁卢韦喇,在尼连禅河边的阿迦巴喇尼拘律树下,初正等正觉。诸比库!那时,众多年老、衰老、高龄、已到老年、已达寿限的婆罗门来到我这里;来到之后,与我互相问候。交换了友好、值得忆念的话语之后,在一旁坐下。诸比库!在一旁坐下的那些婆罗门对我这样说:『果德玛尊者!我们听说——沙门果德玛不礼敬、不起迎、不以座位邀请年老、衰老、高龄、已到老年、已达寿限的婆罗门。果德玛尊者!这确实如此。果德玛尊者确实不礼敬、不起迎、不以座位邀请年老、衰老、高龄、已到老年、已达寿限的婆罗门。果德玛尊者!这确实不适当。』」
‘‘Tassa mayhaṃ, bhikkhave, etadahosi – ‘nayime āyasmanto jānanti theraṃ vā therakaraṇe vā dhamme’ti. Vuddho cepi, bhikkhave, hoti āsītiko vā nāvutiko vā vassasatiko vā jātiyā. So ca hoti akālavādī abhūtavādī anatthavādī adhammavādī avinayavādī, anidhānavatiṃ vācaṃ bhāsitā akālena anapadesaṃ apariyantavatiṃ anatthasaṃhitaṃ. Atha kho so ‘bālo thero’tveva saṅkhaṃ gacchati.
「诸比库,我生起这样的想法:『这些具寿不知道长老或使成为长老的诸法。』诸比库,即使年老,八十岁、九十岁或百岁,但他是非时说者、非真实说者、非义利说者、非法说者、非律说者,说无宝藏的话,非时、无理由、无边际、不与义利相应。那么他被算作『愚痴的长老』。」
‘‘Daharo cepi, bhikkhave, hoti yuvā susukāḷakeso bhadrena yobbanena samannāgato paṭhamena vayasā . So ca hoti kālavādī bhūtavādī atthavādī dhammavādī vinayavādī nidhānavatiṃ vācaṃ bhāsitā kālena sāpadesaṃ pariyantavatiṃ atthasaṃhitaṃ. Atha kho so ‘paṇḍito thero’tveva saṅkhaṃ gacchati.
「诸比库,即使年轻,青年,黑发,具足美好的青春,正当壮年。但他是时说者、真实说者、义利说者、法说者、律说者,说有宝藏的话,适时、有理由、有边际、与义利相应。那么他被算作『贤智的长老』。」
‘‘Cattārome , bhikkhave, therakaraṇā dhammā. Katame cattāro? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu sīlavā hoti, pātimokkhasaṃvarasaṃvuto viharati ācāragocarasampanno aṇumattesu vajjesu bhayadassāvī, samādāya sikkhati sikkhāpadesu, bahussuto hoti sutadharo sutasannicayo, ye te dhammā ādikalyāṇā majjhekalyāṇā pariyosānakalyāṇā sātthaṃ sabyañjanaṃ kevalaparipuṇṇaṃ parisuddhaṃ brahmacariyaṃ abhivadanti, tathārūpāssa dhammā bahussutā honti dhātā vacasā paricitā manasānupekkhitā, diṭṭhiyā suppaṭividdhā, catunnaṃ jhānānaṃ ābhicetasikānaṃ diṭṭhadhammasukhavihārānaṃ nikāmalābhī hoti akicchalābhī akasiralābhī, āsavānaṃ khayā anāsavaṃ cetovimuttiṃ paññāvimuttiṃ diṭṭheva dhamme sayaṃ abhiññā sacchikatvā upasampajja viharati. Ime kho, bhikkhave, cattāro therakaraṇā dhammā’’ti.
「诸比库,有这四种使成为长老的法。哪四种?诸比库,这里,比库具戒,以巴帝摩卡律仪防护而住,具足正行与行处,于微细的罪过中见怖畏,受持学习于诸学处;多闻,持所闻,积集所闻,凡那些法初善、中善、后善,有义、有文,宣说完全圆满、遍净的梵行,这样的诸法他多闻、忆持、以言语熟练、以意审察、以见善通达;随意获得、不难获得、不费力获得四禅那,增上心,现法乐住;以诸漏尽,于现法中,以自己的证智作证、具足住于无漏的心解脱、慧解脱。诸比库,这些是四种使成为长老的法。」
‘‘Yo uddhatena cittena, samphañca bahu bhāsati;
「以散乱心,说许多杂乱话;」
Asamāhitasaṅkappo, asaddhammarato mago;
「心不得定,喜好非正法的愚人;」
Ārā so thāvareyyamhā, pāpadiṭṭhi anādaro.
「他远离长老性,邪见、无恭敬。」
‘‘Yo ca sīlena sampanno, sutavā paṭibhānavā;
「凡达上,多闻、有辩才;」
Saññato dhīro dhammesu , paññāyatthaṃ vipassati.
「自制、贤智于诸法,以慧观见义利。」
‘‘Pāragū sabbadhammānaṃ, akhilo paṭibhānavā;
「已到达一切法的彼岸,无碍、具辩才;
Pahīnajātimaraṇo, brahmacariyassa kevalī.
已断生与死,是梵行的圆满者。
‘‘Tamahaṃ vadāmi theroti, yassa no santi āsavā;
我说他为长老,他没有诸漏;
Āsavānaṃ khayā bhikkhu, so theroti pavuccatī’’ti. dutiyaṃ;
诸漏已尽的比库,他被称为长老。」第二。
3. Lokasuttaṃ3. 世间经
§23
‘‘Loko , bhikkhave, tathāgatena abhisambuddho. Lokasmā tathāgato visaṃyutto. Lokasamudayo, bhikkhave, tathāgatena abhisambuddho. Lokasamudayo tathāgatassa pahīno. Lokanirodho, bhikkhave, tathāgatena abhisambuddho. Lokanirodho tathāgatassa sacchikato. Lokanirodhagāminī paṭipadā, bhikkhave, tathāgatena abhisambuddhā. Lokanirodhagāminī paṭipadā tathāgatassa bhāvitā.
「诸比库,世间已被如来正觉。如来已从世间解脱。诸比库,世间集已被如来正觉。世间集已被如来断除。诸比库,世间灭已被如来正觉。世间灭已被如来作证。诸比库,导向世间灭的道已被如来正觉。导向世间灭的道已被如来修习。
‘‘Yaṃ, bhikkhave, sadevakassa lokassa samārakassa sabrahmakassa sassamaṇabrāhmaṇiyā pajāya sadevamanussāya diṭṭhaṃ sutaṃ mutaṃ viññātaṃ pattaṃ pariyesitaṃ anuvicaritaṃ manasā, sabbaṃ taṃ tathāgatena abhisambuddhaṃ. Tasmā ‘tathāgato’ti vuccati.
诸比库,凡在有天的世间、有魔的世间、有梵天的世间、有沙门婆罗门的世代、有天人的世间中,所见、所闻、所觉、所识、所得、所寻求、被意所寻思的一切,全部已被如来正觉。因此被称为『如来』。
‘‘Yañca, bhikkhave, rattiṃ tathāgato anuttaraṃ sammāsambodhiṃ abhisambujjhati yañca rattiṃ anupādisesāya nibbānadhātuyā parinibbāyati, yaṃ etasmiṃ antare bhāsati lapati niddisati sabbaṃ taṃ tatheva hoti, no aññathā. Tasmā ‘tathāgato’ti vuccati.
诸比库,如来正觉无上正等正觉的那一夜,以及在无余涅槃界般涅槃的那一夜,在这期间所说、所讲、所宣示的一切,全部如是而非异。因此被称为『如来』。
‘‘Yathāvādī, bhikkhave, tathāgato tathākārī, yathākārī tathāvādī. Iti yathāvādī tathākārī, yathākārī tathāvādī. Tasmā ‘tathāgato’ti vuccati.
诸比库,如来如所说而行,如所行而说。如此,如所说而行,如所行而说。因此被称为『如来』。
‘‘Sadevake, bhikkhave, loke samārake sabrahmake sassamaṇabrāhmaṇiyā pajāya sadevamanussāya tathāgato abhibhū anabhibhūto aññadatthu daso vasavattī. Tasmā ‘tathāgato’ti vuccati’’.
「诸比库!在包括天的世间、包括魔的世间、包括梵天的世间、包括沙门婆罗门的世代、包括天人的世间,如来是征服者、不被征服者、一切的见者、自在者。因此被称为『如来』。」
‘‘Sabbaṃ lokaṃ abhiññāya, sabbaṃ loke yathātathaṃ;
「遍知一切世间,如实知一切世间;
Sabbaṃ lokaṃ visaṃyutto, sabbaloke anūpayo.
离系于一切世间,于一切世间无依。
‘‘Sa ve sabbābhibhū dhīro, sabbaganthappamocano;
「彼实为一切征服者、贤者,解脱一切结;
Phuṭṭha’ssa paramā santi, nibbānaṃ akutobhayaṃ.
已触最上寂静,涅槃无所畏惧。
‘‘Esa khīṇāsavo buddho, anīgho chinnasaṃsayo;
「此漏尽者、觉者,无恼、断疑;
Sabbakammakkhayaṃ patto, vimutto upadhisaṅkhaye.
达一切业尽,依诸依灭而解脱。
‘‘Esa so bhagavā buddho, esa sīho anuttaro;
「此世尊是觉者,此无上狮子;」
Sadevakassa lokassa, brahmacakkaṃ pavattayī.
为包括天的世间,转起了梵轮。
‘‘Iti devā manussā ca, ye buddhaṃ saraṇaṃ gatā;
如此,诸天与人,凡归依佛者,
Saṅgamma taṃ namassanti, mahantaṃ vītasāradaṃ.
聚集礼敬他,伟大、离怖畏者。
‘‘Danto damayataṃ seṭṭho, santo samayataṃ isi;
已调御者是调御者中最上,寂静者是寂静者中仙人,
Mutto mocayataṃ aggo, tiṇṇo tārayataṃ varo.
已解脱者是解脱者中最胜,已度者是度者中殊胜。
‘‘Iti hetaṃ namassanti, mahantaṃ vītasāradaṃ;
如此他们礼敬,伟大、离怖畏者,
Sadevakasmiṃ lokasmiṃ, natthi te paṭipuggalo’’ti. tatiyaṃ;
在包括天的世间,无有你的对手。第三。
4. Kāḷakārāmasuttaṃ4. 咖喇咖拉马经
§24
Ekaṃ samayaṃ bhagavā sākete viharati kāḷakārāme . Tatra kho bhagavā bhikkhū āmantesi – ‘‘bhikkhavo’’ti. ‘‘Bhadante’’ti te bhikkhū bhagavato paccassosuṃ. Bhagavā etadavoca –
一时,世尊住在萨咖答的咖喇咖喇园。在那里,世尊称呼比库们:「诸比库。」「尊者。」那些比库回答世尊。世尊如此说:
‘‘Yaṃ , bhikkhave, sadevakassa lokassa samārakassa sabrahmakassa sassamaṇabrāhmaṇiyā pajāya sadevamanussāya diṭṭhaṃ sutaṃ mutaṃ viññātaṃ pattaṃ pariyesitaṃ anuvicaritaṃ manasā, tamahaṃ jānāmi.
「诸比库!凡于含天之世间、含魔之世间、含梵天之世间、含沙门婆罗门之世代、含天人之世代,所见、所闻、所觉、所识、所得、所寻求、以意所随寻者,我知道那个。
‘‘Yaṃ, bhikkhave, sadevakassa lokassa samārakassa sabrahmakassa sassamaṇabrāhmaṇiyā pajāya sadevamanussāya diṭṭhaṃ sutaṃ mutaṃ viññātaṃ pattaṃ pariyesitaṃ anuvicaritaṃ manasā, tamahaṃ abbhaññāsiṃ. Taṃ tathāgatassa viditaṃ, taṃ tathāgato na upaṭṭhāsi.
「诸比库!凡于含天之世间、含魔之世间、含梵天之世间、含沙门婆罗门之世代、含天人之世代,所见、所闻、所觉、所识、所得、所寻求、以意所随寻者,我已证知那个。那个为如来所知,如来不住立于那个。
‘‘Yaṃ , bhikkhave, sadevakassa lokassa samārakassa sabrahmakassa sassamaṇabrāhmaṇiyā pajāya sadevamanussāya diṭṭhaṃ sutaṃ mutaṃ viññātaṃ pattaṃ pariyesitaṃ anuvicaritaṃ manasā, tamahaṃ na jānāmīti vadeyyaṃ, taṃ mamassa musā.
「诸比库!凡于含天之世间、含魔之世间、含梵天之世间、含沙门婆罗门之世代、含天人之世代,所见、所闻、所觉、所识、所得、所寻求、以意所随寻者,若我说『我不知道那个』,那对我来说是虚妄。
‘‘Yaṃ, bhikkhave…pe… tamahaṃ jānāmi ca na ca jānāmīti vadeyyaṃ, taṃpassa tādisameva.
「诸比库!……若我说『我知道那个且不知道那个』,那也是同样的。
‘‘Yaṃ, bhikkhave…pe… tamahaṃ neva jānāmi na na jānāmīti vadeyyaṃ, taṃ mamassa kali.
「诸比库!……若我说『我既不知道那个也非不知道那个』,那对我来说是过失。
‘‘Iti kho, bhikkhave, tathāgato daṭṭhā daṭṭhabbaṃ, diṭṭhaṃ na maññati, adiṭṭhaṃ na maññati, daṭṭhabbaṃ na maññati, daṭṭhāraṃ na maññati; sutvā sotabbaṃ, sutaṃ na maññati, asutaṃ na maññati, sotabbaṃ na maññati, sotāraṃ na maññati; mutvā motabbaṃ, mutaṃ na maññati, amutaṃ na maññati, motabbaṃ na maññati, motāraṃ na maññati; viññatvā viññātabbaṃ, viññātaṃ na maññati, aviññātaṃ na maññati, viññātabbaṃ na maññati, viññātāraṃ na maññati. Iti kho, bhikkhave, tathāgato diṭṭhasutamutaviññātabbesu dhammesu tādīyeva tādī . Tamhā ca pana tādimhā añño tādī uttaritaro vā paṇītataro vā natthīti vadāmī’’ti.
「诸比库!如是,如来见应见者,不想已见,不想未见,不想应见,不想见者;闻应闻者,不想已闻,不想未闻,不想应闻,不想闻者;觉应觉者,不想已觉,不想未觉,不想应觉,不想觉者;识应识者,不想已识,不想未识,不想应识,不想识者。诸比库!如是,如来于所见、所闻、所觉、所识诸法中,如如不异。而且我说:『从那个如如者,没有其他如如者更殊胜或更上妙。』」
‘‘Yaṃ kiñci diṭṭhaṃva sutaṃ mutaṃ vā,
「凡任何所见、所闻、所觉,
Ajjhositaṃ saccamutaṃ paresaṃ;
他人所执取为真实之法;
Na tesu tādī sayasaṃvutesu,
对于那些如是自我防护者,
Saccaṃ musā vāpi paraṃ daheyya.
真实或虚妄都不会伤害他人。
‘‘Etañca sallaṃ paṭikacca disvā,
「看见这支箭已被拔除,
Ajjhositā yattha pajā visattā;
众生在此处执着、粘着;
Jānāmi passāmi tatheva etaṃ,
我知、我见,确实如此,
Ajjhositaṃ natthi tathāgatāna’’nti. catutthaṃ;
如来们没有执着。」第四。
5. Brahmacariyasuttaṃ5. 梵行经
§25
‘‘Nayidaṃ , bhikkhave, brahmacariyaṃ vussati janakuhanatthaṃ, na janalapanatthaṃ, na lābhasakkārasilokānisaṃsatthaṃ, na itivādappamokkhānisaṃsatthaṃ, na ‘iti maṃ jano jānātū’ti. Atha kho idaṃ, bhikkhave, brahmacariyaṃ vussati saṃvaratthaṃ pahānatthaṃ virāgatthaṃ nirodhattha’’nti.
「诸比库!此梵行不是为了欺骗众人而行,不是为了谄媚众人而行,不是为了利养、恭敬、名声之利益而行,不是为了如此言论解脱之利益而行,不是为了『愿众人如此知我』而行。诸比库!此梵行是为了防护而行,为了舍断而行,为了离贪而行,为了灭而行。」
‘‘Saṃvaratthaṃ pahānatthaṃ, brahmacariyaṃ anītihaṃ;
「为了防护、为了舍断,梵行非传承,
Adesayi so bhagavā, nibbānogadhagāminaṃ;
彼世尊教导了导向涅槃的;
Esa maggo mahantehi , anuyāto mahesibhi.
此道被诸大仙人所随行。
‘‘Ye ca taṃ paṭipajjanti, yathā buddhena desitaṃ;
「凡那些依照佛陀所教导的而行道者;
Dukkhassantaṃ karissanti, satthusāsanakārino’’ti. pañcamaṃ;
奉行导师教诫者,将作苦的终结。」第五经。
6. Kuhasuttaṃ6. 欺诳经
§26
‘‘Ye te, bhikkhave, bhikkhū kuhā thaddhā lapā siṅgī unnaḷā asamāhitā, na me te, bhikkhave, bhikkhū māmakā. Apagatā ca te, bhikkhave , bhikkhū imasmā dhammavinayā, na ca te imasmiṃ dhammavinaye vuddhiṃ viruḷhiṃ vepullaṃ āpajjanti. Ye ca kho te, bhikkhave, bhikkhū nikkuhā nillapā dhīrā atthaddhā susamāhitā, te kho me, bhikkhave, bhikkhū māmakā. Anapagatā ca te, bhikkhave, bhikkhū imasmā dhammavinayā. Te ca imasmiṃ dhammavinaye vuddhiṃ viruḷhiṃ vepullaṃ āpajjantī’’ti.
「诸比库,凡那些欺诳的、顽固的、饶舌的、傲慢的、轻浮的、不得定的比库们,诸比库,他们不是我的比库。诸比库,那些比库已离开此法与律,他们在此法与律中不获得增长、成长、广大。诸比库,然而凡那些不欺诳的、不饶舌的、坚定的、稳重的、善得定的比库们,诸比库,他们是我的比库。诸比库,那些比库未离开此法与律,他们在此法与律中获得增长、成长、广大。」
‘‘Kuhā thaddhā lapā siṅgī, unnaḷā asamāhitā;
「欺诳的、顽固的、饶舌的、傲慢的、轻浮的、不得定的;
Na te dhamme virūhanti, sammāsambuddhadesite.
他们不在正等正觉者所教导的法中增长。
‘‘Nikkuhā nillapā dhīrā, atthaddhā susamāhitā;
「不欺诳的、不饶舌的、坚定的、稳重的、善得定的;
Te ve dhamme virūhanti, sammāsambuddhadesite’’ti. chaṭṭhaṃ;
他们增长那些法,正等正觉者所教导的。」第六经。
7. Santuṭṭhisuttaṃ7. 知足经
§27
‘‘Cattārimāni , bhikkhave, appāni ca sulabhāni ca, tāni ca anavajjāni. Katamāni cattāri? Paṃsukūlaṃ, bhikkhave, cīvarānaṃ appañca sulabhañca , tañca anavajjaṃ. Piṇḍiyālopo, bhikkhave, bhojanānaṃ appañca sulabhañca, tañca anavajjaṃ. Rukkhamūlaṃ, bhikkhave, senāsanānaṃ appañca sulabhañca, tañca anavajjaṃ. Pūtimuttaṃ, bhikkhave, bhesajjānaṃ appañca sulabhañca, tañca anavajjaṃ. Imāni kho, bhikkhave, cattāri appāni ca sulabhāni ca, tāni ca anavajjāni. Yato kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu appena ca tuṭṭho hoti sulabhena ca, idamassāhaṃ aññataraṃ sāmaññaṅganti vadāmī’’ti.
「诸比库,这四种是少的、易得的,而且是无过失的。哪四种呢?诸比库,尘堆衣在诸衣中是少的、易得的,而且是无过失的。诸比库,团食在诸食中是少的、易得的,而且是无过失的。诸比库,树下在诸住所中是少的、易得的,而且是无过失的。诸比库,陈弃药在诸药中是少的、易得的,而且是无过失的。诸比库,这四种是少的、易得的,而且是无过失的。诸比库,当比库以少的、易得的为满足时,我说这是他的沙门分之一。」
‘‘Anavajjena tuṭṭhassa, appena sulabhena ca;
「以无过失者为满足,以少的、易得的,
Na senāsanamārabbha, cīvaraṃ pānabhojanaṃ;
「不因住所、衣、饮与食,
Vighāto hoti cittassa, disā nappaṭihaññati.
「心有障碍,不被方向所击败。
‘‘Ye cassa dhammā akkhātā, sāmaññassānulomikā;
「凡那些已被宣说的法,随顺于沙门性,
Adhiggahitā tuṭṭhassa, appamattassa sikkhato’’ti. sattamaṃ;
「满足者、不放逸者、学习者已证得。」第七经。
8. Ariyavaṃsasuttaṃ8. 圣种经
§28
‘‘Cattārome , bhikkhave, ariyavaṃsā aggaññā rattaññā vaṃsaññā porāṇā asaṃkiṇṇā asaṃkiṇṇapubbā, na saṃkīyanti na saṃkīyissanti, appaṭikuṭṭhā samaṇehi brāhmaṇehi viññūhi. Katame cattāro? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu santuṭṭho hoti itarītarena cīvarena, itarītaracīvarasantuṭṭhiyā ca vaṇṇavādī, na ca cīvarahetu anesanaṃ appatirūpaṃ āpajjati, aladdhā ca cīvaraṃ na paritassati, laddhā ca cīvaraṃ agadhito amucchito anajjhosanno ādīnavadassāvī nissaraṇapañño paribhuñjati; tāya ca pana itarītaracīvarasantuṭṭhiyā nevattānukkaṃseti, no paraṃ vambheti. Yo hi tattha dakkho analaso sampajāno patissato, ayaṃ vuccati, bhikkhave, bhikkhu porāṇe aggaññe ariyavaṃse ṭhito.
「诸比库,这四种圣种是最上的、久远的、古老的、未被混杂的、以前未被混杂的,不被混杂、将不被混杂,不被有智的沙门、婆罗门所轻蔑。哪四种呢?诸比库,于此,比库以任何的衣为满足,赞叹任何衣的满足,不因衣的缘故而从事不适当的寻求,未得衣不忧虑,得衣则不贪著、不迷恋、不耽溺,见过患,以出离之慧而受用;然而,因那任何衣的满足,他既不自赞,也不贬他。凡于此熟练、不懈怠、正知、具念者,诸比库,这被称为比库住立于古老的、最上的圣种中。

Yo hi tattha dakkho analaso sampajāno patissato, ayaṃ vuccati, bhikkhave, bhikkhu porāṇe aggaññe ariyavaṃse ṭhito. Ime kho, bhikkhave, cattāro ariyavaṃsā aggaññā rattaññā vaṃsaññā porāṇā asaṃkiṇṇā asaṃkiṇṇapubbā, na saṃkīyanti na saṃkīyissanti, appaṭikuṭṭhā samaṇehi brāhmaṇehi viññūhi.
「再者,诸比库!比库乐于修习、喜爱修习,乐于断除、喜爱断除;然而以那乐于修习、喜爱修习、乐于断除、喜爱断除,他既不自赞,也不贬他。于此,凡是善巧、不懈怠、正知、具念者,诸比库!这称为比库住立于古老、最上的圣族。诸比库!这些四种圣族是最上的、久远的、族姓的、古老的、不混杂的、从前未被混杂的,不被混杂、将不被混杂,不被有智的沙门、婆罗门所轻蔑。」
‘‘Imehi ca pana, bhikkhave, catūhi ariyavaṃsehi samannāgato bhikkhu puratthimāya cepi disāya viharati sveva aratiṃ sahati, na taṃ arati sahati; pacchimāya cepi disāya viharati sveva aratiṃ sahati, na taṃ arati sahati; uttarāya cepi disāya viharati sveva aratiṃ sahati, na taṃ arati sahati; dakkhiṇāya cepi disāya viharati sveva aratiṃ sahati, na taṃ arati sahati. Taṃ kissa hetu? Aratiratisaho hi, bhikkhave, dhīro’’ti.
「诸比库!具足这四种圣族的比库,即使住在东方,他自己克服不乐,不乐不克服他;即使住在西方,他自己克服不乐,不乐不克服他;即使住在北方,他自己克服不乐,不乐不克服他;即使住在南方,他自己克服不乐,不乐不克服他。那是什么原因?诸比库!因为贤者能克服不乐与乐。」
‘‘Nārati sahati dhīraṃ , nārati dhīraṃ sahati;
「不乐不克服贤者,不乐不克服贤者;
Dhīrova aratiṃ sahati, dhīro hi aratissaho.
贤者克服不乐,因为贤者能克服不乐。
‘‘Sabbakammavihāyīnaṃ , panuṇṇaṃ ko nivāraye;
「舍弃一切业者,已弃除者谁能阻止;
Nekkhaṃ jambonadasseva, ko taṃ ninditumarahati;
犹如阎浮檀金的颈饰,谁有资格诽谤他?」
Devāpi naṃ pasaṃsanti, brahmunāpi pasaṃsito’’ti. aṭṭhamaṃ;
诸天人也赞叹他,也被梵天所赞叹。」第八经。

‘‘Sammāsati , bhikkhave, dhammapadaṃ aggaññaṃ rattaññaṃ vaṃsaññaṃ porāṇaṃ asaṃkiṇṇaṃ asaṃkiṇṇapubbaṃ, na saṃkīyati na saṃkīyissati, appaṭikuṭṭhaṃ samaṇehi brāhmaṇehi viññūhi.
「诸比库,正念是法句,是最上的、久远的、传承的、古老的、未混杂的、从未混杂过的,不被混杂、将不被混杂,不被有智的沙门婆罗门所轻蔑。
‘‘Sammāsamādhi, bhikkhave, dhammapadaṃ aggaññaṃ rattaññaṃ vaṃsaññaṃ porāṇaṃ asaṃkiṇṇaṃ asaṃkiṇṇapubbaṃ, na saṃkīyati na saṃkīyissati, appaṭikuṭṭhaṃ samaṇehi brāhmaṇehi viññūhi. ‘‘Anabhijjhālu vihareyya, abyāpannena cetasā;
「应以无贪住,以无嗔之心;
Sato ekaggacittassa , ajjhattaṃ susamāhito’’ti. navamaṃ;
具念、心一境,于内善等持。」第九经。
10. Paribbājakasuttaṃ10. 游方者经
§30
Ekaṃ samayaṃ bhagavā rājagahe viharati gijjhakūṭe pabbate. Tena kho pana samayena sambahulā abhiññātā abhiññātā paribbājakā sippinikātīre paribbājakārāme paṭivasanti, seyyathidaṃ annabhāro varadharo sakuludāyī ca paribbājako aññe ca abhiññātā abhiññātā paribbājakā. Atha kho bhagavā sāyanhasamayaṃ paṭisallānā vuṭṭhito yena sippinikātīraṃ paribbājakārāmo tenupasaṅkami; upasaṅkamitvā paññatte āsane nisīdi. Nisajja kho bhagavā te paribbājake etadavoca –
一时,世尊住在王舍城耆阇崛山。尔时,众多有名的、著名的游方者住在西毗尼咖海岸的游方者园,即安那巴拉、瓦拉达拉、萨咖卢达义游方者及其他有名的、著名的游方者。那时,世尊在傍晚时从独坐中起来,前往西毗尼咖海岸的游方者园;抵达后,坐在所设的座位上。坐下后,世尊对那些游方者如此说——
‘‘Cattārimāni, paribbājakā, dhammapadāni aggaññāni rattaññāni vaṃsaññāni porāṇāni asaṃkiṇṇāni asaṃkiṇṇapubbāni, na saṃkīyanti na saṃkīyissanti, appaṭikuṭṭhāni samaṇehi brāhmaṇehi viññūhi. Abyāpādo, paribbājakā, dhammapadaṃ…pe… sammāsati, paribbājakā, dhammapadaṃ…pe… sammāsamādhi, paribbājakā, dhammapadaṃ aggaññaṃ rattaññaṃ vaṃsaññaṃ porāṇaṃ asaṃkiṇṇaṃ asaṃkiṇṇapubbaṃ, na saṃkīyati na saṃkīyissati, appaṭikuṭṭhaṃ samaṇehi brāhmaṇehi viññūhi. Imāni kho , paribbājakā, cattāri dhammapadāni aggaññāni rattaññāni vaṃsaññāni porāṇāni asaṃkiṇṇāni asaṃkiṇṇapubbāni, na saṃkīyanti na saṃkīyissanti, appaṭikuṭṭhāni samaṇehi brāhmaṇehi viññūhi.
「诸游方者,这四种法句是最上的、久远的、传承的、古老的、未混杂的、从未混杂过的,不被混杂、将不被混杂,不被有智的沙门婆罗门所举罪。哪四种?诸游方者,无贪是法句,是最上的、久远的、传承的、古老的、未混杂的、从未混杂过的,不被混杂、将不被混杂,不被有智的沙门婆罗门所举罪。诸游方者,无嗔是法句……诸游方者,正念是法句……诸游方者,正定是法句,是最上的、久远的、传承的、古老的、未混杂的、从未混杂过的,不被混杂、将不被混杂,不被有智的沙门婆罗门所举罪。诸游方者,这四种法句是最上的、久远的、传承的、古老的、未混杂的、从未混杂过的,不被混杂、将不被混杂,不被有智的沙门婆罗门所举罪。」
‘‘Yo kho, paribbājakā, evaṃ vadeyya – ‘ahametaṃ anabhijjhaṃ dhammapadaṃ paccakkhāya abhijjhāluṃ kāmesu tibbasārāgaṃ samaṇaṃ vā brāhmaṇaṃ vā paññāpessāmī’ti, tamahaṃ tattha evaṃ vadeyyaṃ – ‘etu vadatu byāharatu passāmissānubhāva’nti. So vata, paribbājakā, anabhijjhaṃ dhammapadaṃ paccakkhāya abhijjhāluṃ kāmesu tibbasārāgaṃ samaṇaṃ vā brāhmaṇaṃ vā paññāpessatīti netaṃ ṭhānaṃ vijjati.
「诸游方者,若有人如此说:『我将舍弃这无贪的法句,而施设贪婪的、对诸欲有强烈贪染的沙门或婆罗门』,我会对他如此说:『来吧,说吧,讲吧,我们将看到威力』。诸游方者,他舍弃无贪的法句,而施设贪婪的、对诸欲有强烈贪染的沙门或婆罗门,这是须跋的。」
‘‘Yo kho, paribbājakā, evaṃ vadeyya – ‘ahametaṃ abyāpādaṃ dhammapadaṃ paccakkhāya byāpannacittaṃ paduṭṭhamanasaṅkappaṃ samaṇaṃ vā brāhmaṇaṃ vā paññāpessāmī’ti, tamahaṃ tattha evaṃ vadeyyaṃ – ‘etu vadatu byāharatu passāmissānubhāva’nti. So vata, paribbājakā, abyāpādaṃ dhammapadaṃ paccakkhāya byāpannacittaṃ paduṭṭhamanasaṅkappaṃ samaṇaṃ vā brāhmaṇaṃ vā paññāpessatīti netaṃ ṭhānaṃ vijjati.
「诸游方者,若有人如此说:『我将舍弃这无嗔的法句,而施设心有嗔恨的、意念败坏的沙门或婆罗门』,我会对他如此说:『来吧,说吧,讲吧,我们将看到威力』。诸游方者,他舍弃无嗔的法句,而施设心有嗔恨的、意念败坏的沙门或婆罗门,这是须跋的。」

「诸游方者,若有人如此说:『我将舍弃这正念的法句,而施设失念的、不正知的沙门或婆罗门』,我会对他如此说:『来吧,说吧,讲吧,我们将看到威力』。诸游方者,他舍弃正念的法句,而施设失念的、不正知的沙门或婆罗门,这是须跋的。」
‘‘Yo kho, paribbājakā, evaṃ vadeyya – ‘ahametaṃ sammāsamādhiṃ dhammapadaṃ paccakkhāya asamāhitaṃ vibbhantacittaṃ samaṇaṃ vā brāhmaṇaṃ vā paññāpessāmī’ti, tamahaṃ tattha evaṃ vadeyyaṃ – ‘etu vadatu byāharatu passāmissānubhāva’nti. So vata, paribbājakā, sammāsamādhiṃ dhammapadaṃ paccakkhāya asamāhitaṃ vibbhantacittaṃ samaṇaṃ vā brāhmaṇaṃ vā paññāpessatīti netaṃ ṭhānaṃ vijjati.
「诸游方者,若有人如此说:『我将舍弃这正定的法句,而施设不得定的、心散乱的沙门或婆罗门』,我会对他如此说:『来吧,说吧,讲吧,我们将看到威力』。诸游方者,他舍弃正定的法句,而施设不得定的、心散乱的沙门或婆罗门,这是须跋的。」
‘‘Yo kho, paribbājakā, imāni cattāri dhammapadāni garahitabbaṃ paṭikkositabbaṃ maññeyya, tassa diṭṭheva dhamme cattāro sahadhammikā vādānupātā gārayhā ṭhānā āgacchanti. Katame cattāro? Anabhijjhaṃ ce bhavaṃ dhammapadaṃ garahati paṭikkosati, ye ca hi abhijjhālū kāmesu tibbasārāgā samaṇabrāhmaṇā te bhoto pujjā te bhoto pāsaṃsā. Abyāpādaṃ ce bhavaṃ dhammapadaṃ garahati paṭikkosati, ye ca hi byāpannacittā paduṭṭhamanasaṅkappā samaṇabrāhmaṇā te bhoto pujjā te bhoto pāsaṃsā. Sammāsatiṃ ce bhavaṃ dhammapadaṃ garahati paṭikkosati, ye ca hi muṭṭhassatī asampajānā samaṇabrāhmaṇā te bhoto pujjā te bhoto pāsaṃsā. Sammāsamādhiṃ ce bhavaṃ dhammapadaṃ garahati paṭikkosati, ye ca hi asamāhitā vibbhantacittā samaṇabrāhmaṇā te bhoto pujjā te bhoto pāsaṃsā.
「诸游方者,若有人认为这四种法句应被举罪、应被非难,在现法中,他会遭遇四种如法的、应受举罪的论难之处。哪四种?若尊者举罪、非难无贪的法句,那些贪婪的、对诸欲有强烈贪染的沙门婆罗门,就是尊者所应礼敬的、就是尊者所应赞叹的。若尊者举罪、非难无嗔的法句,那些心有嗔恨的、意念败坏的沙门婆罗门,就是尊者所应礼敬的、就是尊者所应赞叹的。若尊者举罪、非难正念的法句,那些失念的、不正知的沙门婆罗门,就是尊者所应礼敬的、就是尊者所应赞叹的。若尊者举罪、非难正定的法句,那些不得定的、心散乱的沙门婆罗门,就是尊者所应礼敬的、就是尊者所应赞叹的。」
‘‘Yo kho, paribbājakā, imāni cattāri dhammapadāni garahitabbaṃ paṭikkositabbaṃ maññeyya, tassa diṭṭheva dhamme ime cattāro sahadhammikā vādānupātā gārayhā ṭhānā āgacchanti . Yepi te paribbājakā ahesuṃ ukkalā vassabhaññā ahetukavādā akiriyavādā natthikavādā, tepi imāni cattāri dhammapadāni na garahitabbaṃ na paṭikkositabbaṃ amaññiṃsu. Taṃ kissa hetu? Nindābyārosanaupārambhabhayā’’ti .
「诸游方者,若有人认为这四种法句应被举罪、应被非难,在现法中,他会遭遇这四种如法的、应受举罪的论难之处。即使那些游方者是乌咖喇人、瓦沙跋雅人、无因论者、无作论者、虚无论者,他们也不认为这四种法句应被举罪、应被非难。那是什么原因?因为害怕举罪、责难、攻击。」
‘‘Abyāpanno sadā sato, ajjhattaṃ susamāhito;
「无嗔者常具念,于内善得定;」
Abhijjhāvinaye sikkhaṃ, appamattoti vuccatī’’ti. dasamaṃ;
