‘‘Tisso imā, bhikkhave, paṭipadā. Katamā tisso? Āgāḷhā paṭipadā, nijjhāmā paṭipadā, majjhimā paṭipadā. Katamā ca, bhikkhave, āgāḷhā paṭipadā? Idha, bhikkhave, ekacco evaṃvādī hoti evaṃdiṭṭhi – ‘natthi kāmesu doso’ti. So kāmesu pātabyataṃ āpajjati. Ayaṃ vuccati, bhikkhave, āgāḷhā paṭipadā.
「诸比库,这是三种道。哪三种?执着道、焦热道、中道。诸比库,什么是执着道?诸比库,这里,某人是这样说者、这样见者——『诸欲中无过患』。他陷入诸欲的堕落。诸比库,这称为执着道。
‘‘Katamā ca, bhikkhave, nijjhāmā paṭipadā? Idha, bhikkhave, ekacco acelako hoti muttācāro, hatthāpalekhano , na ehibhadantiko, na tiṭṭhabhadantiko, nābhihaṭaṃ na uddissakataṃ na nimantanaṃ sādiyati. So na kumbhimukhā paṭiggaṇhāti, na kaḷopimukhā paṭiggaṇhāti na eḷakamantaraṃ na daṇḍamantaraṃ na musalamantaraṃ na dvinnaṃ bhuñjamānānaṃ na gabbhiniyā na pāyamānāya na purisantaragatāya na saṅkittīsu na yattha sā upaṭṭhito hoti na yattha makkhikā saṇḍasaṇḍacārinī na macchaṃ na maṃsaṃ na suraṃ na merayaṃ, na thusodakaṃ pivati. So ekāgāriko vā hoti ekālopiko, dvāgāriko vā hoti dvālopiko… sattāgāriko vā hoti sattālopiko; ekissāpi dattiyā yāpeti, dvīhipi dattīhi yāpeti… sattahipi dattīhi yāpeti; ekāhikampi āhāraṃ āhāreti, dvāhikampi āhāraṃ āhāreti… sattāhikampi āhāraṃ āhāreti – iti evarūpaṃ addhamāsikampi pariyāyabhattabhojanānuyogamanuyutto viharati.
「诸比库,什么是焦热道?诸比库,这里,某人是裸行者、不拘礼节者、舔手者、不来者、不住者,不接受特地拿来的、不接受特地做的、不接受邀请。他不从壶口接受、不从钵口接受、不在门槛内、不在棒间、不在杵间、不从二人食者、不从怀孕者、不从哺乳者、不从与男子交会者、不在聚集处、不在有狗站立处、不在苍蝇群集处,不食鱼、不食肉、不饮谷酒、不饮果酒、不饮糠汁。他是一家食者一口食者,或二家食者二口食者……或七家食者七口食者;他以一施而活命,以二施而活命……以七施而活命;他一日食一餐,二日食一餐……七日食一餐——如此,他从事半月一次定期食的修习而住。
So sākabhakkhopi hoti, sāmākabhakkhopi hoti, nīvārabhakkhopi hoti, daddulabhakkhopi hoti, haṭabhakkhopi hoti , kaṇhabhakkhopi hoti, ācāmabhakkhopi hoti, piññākabhakkhopi hoti, tiṇabhakkhopi hoti, gomayabhakkhopi hoti, vanamūlaphalāhāro yāpeti pavattaphalabhojī.
「他是食菜者、食稗子者、食野米者、食皮屑者、食苔者、食糠者、食饭渣者、食胡麻粉者、食草者、食牛粪者,以林中根果为食而活命,食落果者。
So sāṇānipi dhāreti, masāṇānipi dhāreti, chavadussānipi dhāreti, paṃsukūlānipi dhāreti, tirīṭānipi dhāreti, ajinampi dhāreti, ajinakkhipampi dhāreti, kusacīrampi dhāreti , vākacīrampi dhāreti, phalakacīrampi dhāreti, kesakambalampi dhāreti, vāḷakambalampi dhāreti, ulūkapakkhikampi dhāreti, kesamassulocakopi hoti kesamassulocanānuyogamanuyutto, ubbhaṭṭhakopi hoti āsanapaṭikkhitto, ukkuṭikopi hoti ukkuṭikappadhānamanuyutto, kaṇṭakāpassayikopi hoti kaṇṭakāpassaye seyyaṃ kappeti, sāyatatiyakampi udakorohanānuyogamanuyutto viharati – iti evarūpaṃ anekavihitaṃ kāyassa ātāpanaparitāpanānuyogamanuyutto viharati. Ayaṃ vuccati, bhikkhave, nijjhāmā paṭipadā.
「他穿麻衣、穿麻混衣、穿尸衣、穿尘堆衣、穿提利答树皮衣、穿羚羊皮、穿羚羊皮条衣、穿古舍草衣、穿瓦咖树皮衣、穿木板衣、穿人发毯、穿兽毛毯、穿枭翼衣,是拔发须者、从事拔发须修习者,是常立者、拒绝坐具者,是蹲踞者、从事蹲踞努力者,是卧刺者、以刺床为卧具者,从事第三时水浴修习而住——如此,他从事种种折磨身体、苦行身体的修习而住。诸比库,这称为焦热道。
‘‘Katamā ca, bhikkhave, majjhimā paṭipadā? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu kāye kāyānupassī viharati ātāpī sampajāno satimā vineyya loke abhijjhādomanassaṃ; vedanāsu…pe… citte…pe… dhammesu dhammānupassī viharati ātāpī sampajāno satimā vineyya loke abhijjhādomanassaṃ. Ayaṃ vuccati, bhikkhave, majjhimā paṭipadā. Imā kho, bhikkhave, tisso paṭipadā’’ti.
「诸比库,什么是中道?诸比库,这里,比库于身随观身而住,热诚、正知、具念,调伏世间的贪忧;于受……于心……于法随观法而住,热诚、正知、具念,调伏世间的贪忧。诸比库,这称为中道。诸比库,这是三种道。」

Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu anuppannānaṃ pāpakānaṃ akusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ anuppādāya chandaṃ janeti vāyamati vīriyaṃ ārabhati cittaṃ paggaṇhāti padahati; uppannānaṃ pāpakānaṃ akusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ pahānāya chandaṃ janeti vāyamati vīriyaṃ ārabhati cittaṃ paggaṇhāti padahati; anuppannānaṃ kusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ uppādāya chandaṃ janeti vāyamati vīriyaṃ ārabhati cittaṃ paggaṇhāti padahati; uppannānaṃ kusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ ṭhitiyā asammosāya bhiyyobhāvāya vepullāya bhāvanāya pāripūriyā chandaṃ janeti vāyamati vīriyaṃ ārabhati cittaṃ paggaṇhāti padahati….
「诸比库,什么是中道?诸比库,这里,比库为了未生的诸恶不善法不生起,生起欲,努力,发起精进,策励心,精勤;为了已生的诸恶不善法断除,生起欲,努力,发起精进,策励心,精勤;为了未生的诸善法生起,生起欲,努力,发起精进,策励心,精勤;为了已生的诸善法住立、不忘失、增长、广大、修习、圆满,生起欲,努力,发起精进,策励心,精勤……
‘‘Chandasamādhipadhānasaṅkhārasamannāgataṃ iddhipādaṃ bhāveti vīriyasamādhi…pe… cittasamādhi…pe… vīmaṃsāsamādhipadhānasaṅkhārasamannāgataṃ iddhipādaṃ bhāveti…pe….
「他修习具足欲定勤行成就的神足……修习具足精进定……修习具足心定……修习具足观定勤行成就的神足……
‘‘Saddhindriyaṃ bhāveti… vīriyindriyaṃ bhāveti… satindriyaṃ bhāveti… samādhindriyaṃ bhāveti… paññindriyaṃ bhāveti….
「他修习信根……修习精进根……修习念根……修习定根……修习慧根……
‘‘Saddhābalaṃ bhāveti… vīriyabalaṃ bhāveti… satibalaṃ bhāveti… samādhibalaṃ bhāveti… paññābalaṃ bhāveti….
「他修习信力……修习精进力……修习念力……修习定力……修习慧力……
‘‘Satisambojjhaṅgaṃ bhāveti… dhammavicayasambojjhaṅgaṃ bhāveti… vīriyasambojjhaṅgaṃ bhāveti… pītisambojjhaṅgaṃ bhāveti… passaddhisambojjhaṅgaṃ bhāveti… samādhisambojjhaṅgaṃ bhāveti… upekkhāsambojjhaṅgaṃ bhāveti….
「他修习念觉支……修习择法觉支……修习精进觉支……修习喜觉支……修习轻安觉支……修习定觉支……修习舍觉支……
‘‘Sammādiṭṭhiṃ bhāveti… sammāsaṅkappaṃ bhāveti… sammāvācaṃ bhāveti… sammākammantaṃ bhāveti … sammāājīvaṃ bhāveti… sammāvāyāmaṃ bhāveti… sammāsatiṃ bhāveti… sammāsamādhiṃ bhāveti…. Ayaṃ vuccati, bhikkhave, majjhimā paṭipadā. Imā kho, bhikkhave, tisso paṭipadā’’ti.
「他修习正见……修习正思惟……修习正语……修习正业……修习正命……修习正精进……修习正念……修习正定……诸比库,这称为中道。诸比库,这些是三种道。」

Tassuddānaṃ –
其摄颂——
Satipaṭṭhānaṃ sammappadhānaṃ, iddhipādindriyena ca;
须跋与正勤,神足及诸根;
Balaṃ bojjhaṅgo maggo ca, paṭipadāya yojayeti.
力、觉支与道,应用于诸道。
