‘‘Saddho , bhikkhave, bhikkhu evaṃ sammā āyācamāno āyāceyya – ‘tādiso homi yādisā sāriputtamoggallānā’ti. Esā, bhikkhave, tulā etaṃ pamāṇaṃ mama sāvakānaṃ bhikkhūnaṃ yadidaṃ sāriputtamoggallānā’’ti.
「诸比库,有信的比库应如此正确地祈愿:『愿我成为如沙利子与摩嘎剌那那样的人。』诸比库,这是我的声闻比库们的标准,这是量度,即沙利子与摩嘎剌那。」

‘‘Saddhā, bhikkhave, bhikkhunī evaṃ sammā āyācamānā āyāceyya – ‘tādisī homi yādisī khemā ca bhikkhunī uppalavaṇṇā cā’ti. Esā, bhikkhave, tulā etaṃ pamāṇaṃ mama sāvikānaṃ bhikkhunīnaṃ yadidaṃ khemā ca bhikkhunī uppalavaṇṇā cā’’ti.
「诸比库,有信的比库尼应如此正确地祈愿:『愿我成为如克玛比库尼与乌巴喇瓦那那样的人。』诸比库,这是我的声闻比库尼们的标准,这是量度,即克玛比库尼与乌巴喇瓦那。」

「诸比库,有信的近事男应如此正确地祈愿:『愿我成为如居士吉答与阿喇瓦咖的哈塔咖那样的人。』诸比库,这是我的声闻近事男们的标准,这是量度,即居士吉答与阿喇瓦咖的哈塔咖。」

‘‘Saddhā , bhikkhave, upāsikā evaṃ sammā āyācamānā āyāceyya – ‘tādisī homi yādisī khujjuttarā ca upāsikā veḷukaṇḍakiyā ca nandamātā’ti. Esā , bhikkhave, tulā etaṃ pamāṇaṃ mama sāvikānaṃ upāsikānaṃ yadidaṃ khujjuttarā ca upāsikā veḷukaṇḍakiyā ca nandamātā’’ti.
「诸比库,有信的近事女应如此正确地祈愿:『愿我成为如近事女库朱塔拉与韦卢康答吉亚的难达之母那样的人。』诸比库,这是我的声闻近事女们的标准,这是量度,即近事女库朱塔拉与韦卢康答吉亚的难达之母。」

Ananuvicca apariyogāhetvā avaṇṇārahassa vaṇṇaṃ bhāsati, ananuvicca apariyogāhetvā vaṇṇārahassa avaṇṇaṃ bhāsati. Imehi kho, bhikkhave, dvīhi dhammehi samannāgato bālo abyatto asappuriso khataṃ upahataṃ attānaṃ pariharati, sāvajjo ca hoti sānuvajjo ca viññūnaṃ, bahuñca apuññaṃ pasavatīti.
「诸比库,具足两种法的愚者、无能者、非善人,持受已损坏、已伤害的自己,是有过失的、受智者们责备的,且造作许多非福。哪两种?未经审察、未经深思而对不值得称赞者说称赞,未经审察、未经深思而对值得称赞者说不称赞。诸比库,具足这两种法的愚者、无能者、非善人,持受已损坏、已伤害的自己,是有过失的、受智者们责备的,且造作许多非福。」

Mātari ca pitari ca. Imesu kho, bhikkhave, dvīsu micchāpaṭipajjamāno bālo abyatto asappuriso khataṃ upahataṃ attānaṃ pariharati, sāvajjo ca hoti sānuvajjo ca viññūnaṃ, bahuñca apuññaṃ pasavatīti.
「诸比库!对于二者邪行者,愚者、无能者、非善人携带着受伤害、受损害的自己,是有罪的、被智者所责备的,并且产生许多非福。哪二者?对于母亲和父亲。诸比库!对于这二者邪行者,愚者、无能者、非善人携带着受伤害、受损害的自己,是有罪的、被智者所责备的,并且产生许多非福。」

「诸比库!有这二法。哪二者?自心的清净和不执取世间的任何事物。诸比库!这是二法。」
