‘‘Katamañca, bhikkhave, dhātunānattaṃ? Cakkhudhātu rūpadhātu cakkhuviññāṇadhātu, sotadhātu saddadhātu sotaviññāṇadhātu, ghānadhātu gandhadhātu ghānaviññāṇadhātu, jivhādhātu rasadhātu jivhāviññāṇadhātu, kāyadhātu phoṭṭhabbadhātu kāyaviññāṇadhātu, manodhātu dhammadhātu manoviññāṇadhātu – idaṃ vuccati, bhikkhave, dhātunānatta’’nti. Evañhi, bhikkhave, ye tiṇakaṭṭhanissitā pāṇā te anayabyasanaṃ āpajjeyyuṃ. Evameva kho, bhikkhave, yo hi koci samaṇo vā brāhmaṇo vā uppannaṃ visamagataṃ saññaṃ na khippameva pajahati vinodeti byantīkaroti anabhāvaṃ gameti, so diṭṭhe ceva dhamme dukkhaṃ viharati savighātaṃ saupāyāsaṃ sapariḷāhaṃ; kāyassa ca bhedā paraṃ maraṇā duggati pāṭikaṅkhā.
「诸比库!譬如有人将燃烧的火把投于干草堆中;若他不以手与足迅速地熄灭,如此,诸比库!依止草木的众生将遭遇灾难与不幸。同样地,诸比库!任何沙门或婆罗门,若不迅速地舍断、除去、灭尽、使已生起的邪曲想不存在,他于现法住于苦、有恼害、有忧恼、有热恼;身坏命终后,可期待恶趣。

Ekaṃ samayaṃ bhagavā ñātike viharati giñjakāvasathe. Tatra kho bhagavā bhikkhū āmantesi – ‘‘bhikkhavo’’ti. ‘‘Bhadante’’ti te bhikkhū bhagavato paccassosuṃ. Bhagavā etadavoca –
一时,世尊住在那提咖的砖屋。在那里,世尊称呼诸比库:「诸比库。」「尊者。」那些比库回答世尊。世尊说此:
‘‘Dhātuṃ, bhikkhave, paṭicca uppajjati saññā, uppajjati diṭṭhi, uppajjati vitakko’’ti. Evaṃ vutte, āyasmā kaccāno bhagavantaṃ etadavoca – ‘‘yāyaṃ, bhante, diṭṭhi – ‘asammāsambuddhesu sammāsambuddhā’ti, ayaṃ nu kho, bhante, diṭṭhi kiṃ paṭicca paññāyatī’’ti?
「诸比库,缘界而生起想,生起见,生起寻。」如是说已,具寿咖吒亚那对世尊如此说:「尊者,这个见——『在非正等正觉者中为正等正觉者』,尊者,这个见是缘什么而被了知的呢?」
‘‘Mahati kho esā, kaccāna, dhātu yadidaṃ avijjādhātu. Hīnaṃ , kaccāna, dhātuṃ paṭicca uppajjati hīnā saññā, hīnā diṭṭhi, hīno vitakko, hīnā cetanā, hīnā patthanā, hīno paṇidhi, hīno puggalo, hīnā vācā; hīnaṃ ācikkhati deseti paññapeti paṭṭhapeti vivarati vibhajati uttānīkaroti; hīnā tassa upapattīti vadāmi.
「咖吒亚那,这是大界,即无明界。咖吒亚那,缘劣界而生起劣想、劣见、劣寻、劣思、劣愿、劣誓愿、劣人、劣语;他教导、宣说、施设、建立、开显、分别论、阐明劣者;我说他的再生是劣的。」
‘‘Majjhimaṃ , kaccāna, dhātuṃ paṭicca uppajjati majjhimā saññā, majjhimā diṭṭhi, majjhimo vitakko, majjhimā cetanā, majjhimā patthanā, majjhimo paṇidhi, majjhimo puggalo, majjhimā vācā; majjhimaṃ ācikkhati deseti paññapeti paṭṭhapeti vivarati vibhajati uttānīkaroti; majjhimā tassa upapattīti vadāmi.

「诸比库,在未来时,诸有情也将依界而结合、聚集。劣意乐者与劣意乐者一起将结合、聚集;善意乐者与善意乐者一起将结合、聚集。」

「诸比库,即使现在,现在时,众生依界而聚集、会合。意向低劣者与意向低劣者一起聚集、会合;意向善美者与意向善美者一起聚集、会合。」第四经。

Atha kho bhagavā bhikkhū āmantesi – ‘‘passatha no tumhe, bhikkhave, sāriputtaṃ sambahulehi bhikkhūhi saddhiṃ caṅkamanta’’nti? ‘‘Evaṃ, bhante’’. ‘‘Sabbe kho ete, bhikkhave, bhikkhū mahāpaññā. Idamavoca bhagavā. Idaṃ vatvāna sugato athāparaṃ etadavoca satthā –
世尊说了这个。说了这个之后,善逝、导师又说了这个:
‘‘Saṃsaggā vanatho jāto, asaṃsaggena chijjati;
「由于结交而生染着,由于不结交而断除;
Parittaṃ dārumāruyha, yathā sīde mahaṇṇave.
攀附小木,如何在大海中沉没。」
‘‘Evaṃ kusītamāgamma, sādhujīvipi sīdati;
「如此亲近懈怠者,善生活者也会沉沦;
Tasmā taṃ parivajjeyya, kusītaṃ hīnavīriyaṃ.
因此应当避开彼,懈怠者、劣精进者。
‘‘Pavivittehi ariyehi, pahitattehi jhāyīhi ;
「应与远离的圣者们,勤奋努力的禅修者们,
Niccaṃ āraddhavīriyehi, paṇḍitehi sahāvase’’ti.
常常发起精进者们,贤智者们共住。」
