1. Nikkhantasuttaṃ1. 出离经
§209
Evaṃ me sutaṃ – ekaṃ samayaṃ āyasmā vaṅgīso āḷaviyaṃ viharati aggāḷave cetiye āyasmatā nigrodhakappena upajjhāyena saddhiṃ. Tena kho pana samayena āyasmā vaṅgīso navako hoti acirapabbajito ohiyyako vihārapālo. Atha kho sambahulā itthiyo samalaṅkaritvā yena aggāḷavako ārāmo tenupasaṅkamiṃsu vihārapekkhikāyo. Atha kho āyasmato vaṅgīsassa tā itthiyo disvā anabhirati uppajjati, rāgo cittaṃ anuddhaṃseti. Atha kho āyasmato vaṅgīsassa etadahosi – ‘‘alābhā vata me, na vata me lābhā; dulladdhaṃ vata me, na vata me suladdhaṃ; yassa me anabhirati uppannā, rāgo cittaṃ anuddhaṃseti, taṃ kutettha labbhā, yaṃ me paro anabhiratiṃ vinodetvā abhiratiṃ uppādeyya. Yaṃnūnāhaṃ attanāva attano anabhiratiṃ vinodetvā abhiratiṃ uppādeyya’’nti. Atha kho āyasmā vaṅgīso attanāva attano anabhiratiṃ vinodetvā abhiratiṃ uppādetvā tāyaṃ velāyaṃ imā gāthāyo abhāsi –
如是我闻——一时,具寿汪义萨住在阿喇维的阿喀喇瓦制底,与亲教师具寿尼哥罗达咖巴一起。尔时,具寿汪义萨是新学,出家不久,是年少的寺院守护者。那时,众多妇女盛装打扮后,为了参观寺院而前往阿喀喇瓦园。那时,具寿汪义萨见到那些妇女后,不喜生起,贪染侵袭其心。那时,具寿汪义萨这样想:「我确实无所得,我确实无所获;我确实难得,我确实未善得;我生起了不喜,贪染侵袭我的心,从何处能得到他人为我除去不喜而生起喜悦呢?我何不自己为自己除去不喜而生起喜悦呢?」那时,具寿汪义萨自己为自己除去不喜而生起喜悦后,于其时说此偈颂——
‘‘Nikkhantaṃ vata maṃ santaṃ, agārasmānagāriyaṃ;
「我确实已出离,从在家到非家,寂静;诸寻思追逐我,这些来自黑暗的放肆者。
Vitakkā upadhāvanti, pagabbhā kaṇhato ime.
「即使是乌嘎族之子、大象、受训练者、坚固法者;从四方围绕,千头不退却者。
‘‘Uggaputtā mahissāsā, sikkhitā daḷhadhammino;
「即使比这更多,妇女们将会来;她们也不会扰乱我,我已安住于法中。
Samantā parikireyyuṃ, sahassaṃ apalāyinaṃ.
「我确实已听闻此,从佛陀、太阳族亲属那里,作证;
‘‘Sacepi etato bhiyyo, āgamissanti itthiyo;
「即使比这更多,妇女们将会来;她们也不会扰乱我,我已安住于法中。
Neva maṃ byādhayissanti , dhamme samhi patiṭṭhitaṃ.
「我确实已听闻此,从佛陀、太阳族亲属那里,作证;
‘‘Sakkhī hi me sutaṃ etaṃ, buddhassādiccabandhuno;
「我确实亲自听闻这个,从太阳族亲的佛陀;
Nibbānagamanaṃ maggaṃ, tattha me nirato mano.
通往涅槃之道,我的心专注于此。
‘‘Evañce maṃ viharantaṃ, pāpima upagacchasi;
「当我如此住时,恶魔若你来到;
Tathā maccu karissāmi, na me maggampi dakkhasī’’ti.
我将如此对待死神,你连道路也看不见。」
2. Aratisuttaṃ2. 不乐经
§210
Ekaṃ samayaṃ…pe… āyasmā vaṅgīso āḷaviyaṃ viharati aggāḷave cetiye āyasmatā nigrodhakappena upajjhāyena saddhiṃ. Tena kho pana samayena āyasmā nigrodhakappo pacchābhattaṃ piṇḍapātapaṭikkanto vihāraṃ pavisati, sāyaṃ vā nikkhamati aparajju vā kāle. Tena kho pana samayena āyasmato vaṅgīsassa anabhirati uppannā hoti, rāgo cittaṃ anuddhaṃseti. Atha kho āyasmato vaṅgīsassa etadahosi – ‘‘alābhā vata me, na vata me lābhā; dulladdhaṃ vata me, na vata me suladdhaṃ; yassa me anabhirati uppannā, rāgo cittaṃ anuddhaṃseti; taṃ kutettha labbhā, yaṃ me paro anabhiratiṃ vinodetvā abhiratiṃ uppādeyya. Yaṃnūnāhaṃ attanāva attano anabhiratiṃ vinodetvā abhiratiṃ uppādeyya’’nti. Atha kho āyasmā vaṅgīso attanāva attano anabhiratiṃ vinodetvā abhiratiṃ uppādetvā tāyaṃ velāyaṃ imā gāthāyo abhāsi –
一时……具寿瓦吉萨住在阿喇维的阿喀喇瓦支提耶,与亲教师具寿尼果达咖巴一起。尔时,具寿尼果达咖巴午后从乞食返回,进入住处,傍晚或次日才出来。尔时,具寿瓦吉萨生起了不满意,贪欲侵袭其心。于是具寿瓦吉萨这样想:「我实在无所得,我实在未得利益;我实在难得,我实在未善得;因为我生起了不满意,贪欲侵袭我的心;从何处能得到,让他人为我除去不满意而生起满意呢?我何不自己为自己除去不满意而生起满意呢?」于是具寿瓦吉萨自己为自己除去不满意而生起满意后,在那时说了这些偈颂——
‘‘Aratiñca ratiñca pahāya, sabbaso gehasitañca vitakkaṃ;
「舍断不乐与乐,以及一切在家的寻;
Vanathaṃ na kareyya kuhiñci, nibbanatho arato sa hi bhikkhu .
不应对任何处造作束缚,无束缚、无染的比库。
‘‘Yamidha pathaviñca vehāsaṃ, rūpagatañca jagatogadhaṃ;
「凡此地上与空中,色所成的、世间所摄的;
Kiñci parijīyati sabbamaniccaṃ, evaṃ samecca caranti mutattā.
一切衰败的都是无常,如此了知后,他们从解脱而行。」
‘‘Upadhīsu janā gadhitāse , diṭṭhasute paṭighe ca mute ca;
「诸人执着于诸依,于所见、所闻、所触及所思,
Ettha vinodaya chandamanejo, yo ettha na limpati taṃ munimāhu.
在此应除去欲与须跋,凡于此不染着者,他们称之为牟尼。
‘‘Atha saṭṭhinissitā savitakkā, puthū janatāya adhammā niviṭṭhā;
「然而依于六十见、有寻,种种邪法住于众人中,
Na ca vaggagatassa kuhiñci, no pana duṭṭhullabhāṇī sa bhikkhu.
但对于已离群者,无论何处,那位比库不是粗恶语者。
‘‘Dabbo cirarattasamāhito, akuhako nipako apihālu;
「达波长久以来得定,不虚伪、聪慧、不贪求,
Santaṃ padaṃ ajjhagamā muni paṭicca, parinibbuto kaṅkhati kāla’’nti.
牟尼依于寂静之境而证得,般涅槃,等待时节。」
3. Pesalasuttaṃ3. 善说经
§211
Ekaṃ samayaṃ āyasmā vaṅgīso āḷaviyaṃ viharati aggāḷave cetiye āyasmatā nigrodhakappena upajjhāyena saddhiṃ. Tena kho pana samayena āyasmā vaṅgīso attano paṭibhānena aññe pesale bhikkhū atimaññati. Atha kho āyasmato vaṅgīsassa etadahosi – ‘‘alābhā vata me, na vata me lābhā; dulladdhaṃ vata me, na vata me suladdhaṃ; yvāhaṃ attano paṭibhānena aññe pesale bhikkhū atimaññāmī’’ti. Atha kho āyasmā vaṅgīso attanāva attano vippaṭisāraṃ uppādetvā tāyaṃ velāyaṃ imā gāthāyo abhāsi –
一时,具寿瓦吉萨与其亲教师具寿尼果达咖巴一起住在阿喇维的阿喀喇瓦支提耶。尔时,具寿瓦吉萨以自己的辩才轻视其他善良的比库们。时,具寿瓦吉萨生起此念:「我实无所得,我实非有所得;我实难得,我实非善得;我以自己的辩才轻视其他善良的比库们。」时,具寿瓦吉萨自己对自己生起追悔,于其时说此诸偈:
‘‘Mānaṃ pajahassu gotama, mānapathañca pajahassu;
「果德玛,你应舍断慢,应舍断慢之道;
Asesaṃ mānapathasmiṃ, samucchito vippaṭisārīhuvā cirarattaṃ.
在慢道中无余地被切断,他长夜后悔。
‘‘Makkhena makkhitā pajā, mānahatā nirayaṃ papatanti;
「众人被覆盖所覆盖,被慢所击而堕地狱;
Socanti janā cirarattaṃ, mānahatā nirayaṃ upapannā.
众人长夜忧愁,被慢所击而生于地狱。
‘‘Na hi socati bhikkhu kadāci, maggajino sammāpaṭipanno;
「但比库从不忧愁,道的胜者,正行道者;
Kittiñca sukhañca anubhoti, dhammadasoti tamāhu pahitattaṃ.
他享受名声与快乐,他们称那精勤者为见法者。
‘‘Tasmā akhilodha padhānavā, nīvaraṇāni pahāya visuddho;
「因此在此精勤者,舍断诸盖而清净;
Mānañca pahāya asesaṃ, vijjāyantakaro samitāvī’’ti.
并且无余地舍断慢,明行具足者、寂静者。」
4. Ānandasuttaṃ4. 阿难经
§212
Ekaṃ samayaṃ āyasmā ānando sāvatthiyaṃ viharati jetavane anāthapiṇḍikassa ārāme. Atha kho āyasmā ānando pubbaṇhasamayaṃ nivāsetvā pattacīvaramādāya sāvatthiṃ piṇḍāya pāvisi āyasmatā vaṅgīsena pacchāsamaṇena. Tena kho pana samayena āyasmato vaṅgīsassa anabhirati uppannā hoti, rāgo cittaṃ anuddhaṃseti. Atha kho āyasmā vaṅgīso āyasmantaṃ ānandaṃ gāthāya ajjhabhāsi –
一时,具寿阿难住在沙瓦提城揭德林给孤独园。那时,具寿阿难在上午时分着衣、持钵衣,与具寿旺义沙为后行沙门,进入沙瓦提城托钵。当时,具寿旺义沙生起不乐,贪染侵袭其心。那时,具寿旺义沙以偈颂对具寿阿难说——
‘‘Kāmarāgena ḍayhāmi, cittaṃ me pariḍayhati;
「我被欲贪所烧,我的心遍烧;
Sādhu nibbāpanaṃ brūhi, anukampāya gotamā’’ti.
果德玛,请出于悲悯,善说灭除之法。」
‘‘Saññāya vipariyesā, cittaṃ te pariḍayhati;
「由于想的颠倒,你的心遍烧;
Nimittaṃ parivajjehi, subhaṃ rāgūpasaṃhitaṃ.
应避免与贪相应的净美之相。
‘‘Saṅkhāre parato passa, dukkhato mā ca attato;
「应从他、从苦、从非我来看诸行;
Nibbāpehi mahārāgaṃ, mā ḍayhittho punappunaṃ.
应灭除大贪,莫一再被烧。
‘‘Asubhāya cittaṃ bhāvehi, ekaggaṃ susamāhitaṃ;
「应以须跋修习心,专一、善等持;
Sati kāyagatā tyatthu, nibbidābahulo bhava.
应有身至念,应成为多厌离者。
‘‘Animittañca bhāvehi, mānānusayamujjaha;
「应修习无相,断除慢随眠;
Tato mānābhisamayā, upasanto carissasī’’ti.
那时,通过现观慢,你将寂静而行。」
5. Subhāsitasuttaṃ5. 善说经
§213
Sāvatthinidānaṃ. Tatra kho bhagavā bhikkhū āmantesi – ‘‘bhikkhavo’’ti. ‘‘Bhadante’’ti te bhikkhū bhagavato paccassosuṃ. Bhagavā etadavoca –
沙瓦提因缘。在那里,世尊对比库们说:「诸比库。」「尊者。」那些比库回答世尊。世尊说此:
‘‘Catūhi, bhikkhave, aṅgehi samannāgatā vācā subhāsitā hoti, no dubbhāsitā; anavajjā ca ananuvajjā ca viññūnaṃ. Katamehi catūhi? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu subhāsitaṃyeva bhāsati no dubbhāsitaṃ, dhammaṃyeva bhāsati no adhammaṃ, piyaṃyeva bhāsati no appiyaṃ, saccaṃyeva bhāsati no alikaṃ. Imehi kho, bhikkhave, catūhi aṅgehi samannāgatā vācā subhāsitā hoti, no dubbhāsitā, anavajjā ca ananuvajjā ca viññūna’’nti. Idamavoca bhagavā, idaṃ vatvāna sugato athāparaṃ etadavoca satthā –
「诸比库,具足四支的语言是善说,非恶说;无过失且不受智者责难。哪四支?诸比库,于此,比库只说善说而不说恶说,只说法而不说非法,只说可爱语而不说不可爱语,只说真实而不说虚妄。诸比库,具足这四支的语言是善说,非恶说,无过失且不受智者责难。」世尊说此,善逝说此后,导师又说此:
‘‘Subhāsitaṃ uttamamāhu santo,
「善士们说善说是最上,
Dhammaṃ bhaṇe nādhammaṃ taṃ dutiyaṃ;
应说法而非非法,此为第二;
Piyaṃ bhaṇe nāppiyaṃ taṃ tatiyaṃ,
应说可爱语而非不可爱语,此为第三;
Saccaṃ bhaṇe nālikaṃ taṃ catuttha’’nti.
应说真实而非虚妄,此为第四。」
Atha kho āyasmā vaṅgīso uṭṭhāyāsanā ekaṃsaṃ uttarāsaṅgaṃ karitvā yena bhagavā tenañjaliṃ paṇāmetvā bhagavantaṃ etadavoca – ‘‘paṭibhāti maṃ bhagavā, paṭibhāti maṃ sugatā’’ti. ‘‘Paṭibhātu taṃ vaṅgīsā’’ti bhagavā avoca. Atha kho āyasmā vaṅgīso bhagavantaṃ sammukhā sāruppāhi gāthāhi abhitthavi –
那时,具寿瓦吉萨从座而起,将上衣偏袒一肩,向世尊合掌后对世尊这样说:「世尊,我有所感,善逝,我有所感。」世尊说:「瓦吉萨,请说吧。」那时,具寿瓦吉萨以相应的偈颂当面赞叹世尊:
‘‘Tameva vācaṃ bhāseyya, yāyattānaṃ na tāpaye;
「应该只说那样的语言,以此不恼害自己;
Pare ca na vihiṃseyya, sā ve vācā subhāsitā.
也不伤害他人,那确实是善说之语。
‘‘Piyavācaṃva bhāseyya, yā vācā paṭinanditā;
「应该只说可喜之语,那被欢迎的语言;
Yaṃ anādāya pāpāni, paresaṃ bhāsate piyaṃ.
不带来诸恶,对他人说可喜之语。
‘‘Saccaṃ ve amatā vācā, esa dhammo sanantano;
「真实确实是不死之语,这是永恒之法;
Sacce atthe ca dhamme ca, āhu santo patiṭṭhitā.
善者们说,安住于真实、义利与法。
‘‘Yaṃ buddho bhāsate vācaṃ, khemaṃ nibbānapattiyā;
「佛陀所说的语言,是为了证得涅槃的安稳;
Dukkhassantakiriyāya, sā ve vācānamuttamā’’ti.
为了作苦的终结,那确实是诸语中最上者。」
6. Sāriputtasuttaṃ6. 沙利子经
§214
Ekaṃ samayaṃ āyasmā sāriputto sāvatthiyaṃ viharati jetavane anāthapiṇḍikassa ārāme. Tena kho pana samayena āyasmā sāriputto bhikkhū dhammiyā kathāya sandasseti samādapeti samuttejeti sampahaṃseti poriyā vācāya vissaṭṭhāya anelagalāya atthassa viññāpaniyā. Te ca bhikkhū aṭṭhiṃ katvā manasi katvā sabbacetasā samannāharitvā ohitasotā dhammaṃ suṇanti. Atha kho āyasmato vaṅgīsassa etadahosi – ‘‘ayaṃ kho āyasmā sāriputto bhikkhū dhammiyā kathāya sandasseti samādapeti samuttejeti sampahaṃseti poriyā vācāya vissaṭṭhāya anelagalāya atthassa viññāpaniyā. Te ca bhikkhū aṭṭhiṃ katvā manasi katvā sabbacetasā samannāharitvā ohitasotā dhammaṃ suṇanti. Yaṃnūnāhaṃ āyasmantaṃ sāriputtaṃ sammukhā sāruppāhi gāthāhi abhitthaveyya’’nti.
一时,具寿沙利子住在沙瓦提城揭德林阿那他宾地咖园。尔时,具寿沙利子以如法之语教示、劝导、鼓励、使诸比库欢喜,以流畅的、清晰的、能令义理明了的语言。那些比库作意、思惟、全心专注、倾耳而听法。时,具寿旺义沙生起此念:「这位具寿沙利子以如法之语教示、劝导、鼓励、使诸比库欢喜,以流畅的、清晰的、能令义理明了的语言。那些比库作意、思惟、全心专注、倾耳而听法。我何不当面以适当的偈颂赞叹具寿沙利子呢?」
Atha kho āyasmā vaṅgīso uṭṭhāyāsanā ekaṃsaṃ uttarāsaṅgaṃ karitvā yenāyasmā sāriputto tenañjaliṃ paṇāmetvā āyasmantaṃ sāriputtaṃ etadavoca – ‘‘paṭibhāti maṃ, āvuso sāriputta, paṭibhāti maṃ, āvuso sāriputtā’’ti. ‘‘Paṭibhātu taṃ, āvuso vaṅgīsā’’ti. Atha kho āyasmā vaṅgīso āyasmantaṃ sāriputtaṃ sammukhā sāruppāhi gāthāhi abhitthavi –
时,具寿旺义沙从座起立,整理上衣至一肩,向具寿沙利子合掌,对具寿沙利子如是说:「友沙利子,我有所感,友沙利子,我有所感。」「友旺义沙,请说吧。」时,具寿旺义沙当面以适当的偈颂赞叹具寿沙利子:
‘‘Gambhīrapañño medhāvī, maggāmaggassa kovido;
「深慧者、有智者,道与非道之善巧者,
Sāriputto mahāpañño, dhammaṃ deseti bhikkhunaṃ.
大慧沙利子,为诸比库说法。
‘‘Saṃkhittenapi deseti, vitthārenapi bhāsati;
以总说而说,以详说而语,
Sāḷikāyiva nigghoso, paṭibhānaṃ udīrayi .
如沙利咖鸟之音声,发出辩才。
‘‘Tassa taṃ desayantassa, suṇanti madhuraṃ giraṃ;
当他说法时,听闻甘美之语,
Sarena rajanīyena, savanīyena vaggunā;
以可喜的、悦耳的、优美的声音,
Udaggacittā muditā, sotaṃ odhenti bhikkhavo’’ti.
诸比库心高举、欢喜地倾听。
7. Pavāraṇāsuttaṃ7. 自恣经
§215
Ekaṃ samayaṃ bhagavā sāvatthiyaṃ viharati pubbārāme migāramātupāsāde mahatā bhikkhusaṅghena saddhiṃ pañcamattehi bhikkhusatehi sabbeheva arahantehi. Tena kho pana samayena bhagavā tadahuposathe pannarase pavāraṇāya bhikkhusaṅghaparivuto abbhokāse nisinno hoti. Atha kho bhagavā tuṇhībhūtaṃ bhikkhusaṅghaṃ anuviloketvā bhikkhū āmantesi – ‘‘handa dāni, bhikkhave, pavāremi vo. Na ca me kiñci garahatha kāyikaṃ vā vācasikaṃ vā’’ti.
一时,世尊与大比库僧团五百位比库一起住在沙瓦提城东园鹿母讲堂,他们全部都是阿拉汉。尔时,世尊于当日伍波萨他日十五日自恣时,为比库僧团围绕,坐在露天处。于是世尊观察沉默的比库僧团后,对诸比库说:「来吧,诸比库,我现在向你们自恣。你们不要对我有任何身的或语的责难。」
Evaṃ vutte, āyasmā sāriputto uṭṭhāyāsanā ekaṃsaṃ uttarāsaṅgaṃ karitvā yena bhagavā tenañjaliṃ paṇāmetvā bhagavantaṃ etadavoca – ‘‘na kho mayaṃ, bhante, bhagavato kiñci garahāma kāyikaṃ vā vācasikaṃ vā. Bhagavā hi , bhante, anuppannassa maggassa uppādetā, asañjātassa maggassa sañjanetā, anakkhātassa maggassa akkhātā, maggaññū maggavidū maggakovido. Maggānugā ca, bhante, etarahi sāvakā viharanti pacchā samannāgatā; ahañca kho, bhante, bhagavantaṃ pavāremi. Na ca me bhagavā kiñci garahati kāyikaṃ vā vācasikaṃ vā’’ti.
如是说已,具寿沙利子从座起立,将上衣偏袒一肩,向世尊合掌后对世尊如此说:「尊者,我们不对世尊有任何身的或语的责难。尊者,世尊确实是未生之道的令生者、未生之道的令生者、未说之道的说者、道的知者、道的了知者、道的熟练者。尊者,而现在诸弟子是随道而住,之后具足;尊者,我向世尊自恣。世尊不对我有任何身的或语的责难。」
‘‘Na khvāhaṃ te, sāriputta, kiñci garahāmi kāyikaṃ vā vācasikaṃ vā. Paṇḍito tvaṃ, sāriputta, mahāpañño tvaṃ, sāriputta , puthupañño tvaṃ, sāriputta, hāsapañño tvaṃ, sāriputta, javanapañño tvaṃ, sāriputta, tikkhapañño tvaṃ, sāriputta, nibbedhikapañño tvaṃ, sāriputta. Seyyathāpi, sāriputta, rañño cakkavattissa jeṭṭhaputto pitarā pavattitaṃ cakkaṃ sammadeva anuppavatteti; evameva kho tvaṃ, sāriputta, mayā anuttaraṃ dhammacakkaṃ pavattitaṃ sammadeva anuppavattesī’’ti.
「沙利子,我不对你有任何身的或语的责难。沙利子,你是贤者,沙利子,你是大慧者,沙利子,你是广慧者,沙利子,你是速慧者,沙利子,你是捷慧者,沙利子,你是利慧者,沙利子,你是洞察慧者。沙利子,譬如转轮王的长子正确地随转父亲所转之轮;同样地,沙利子,你正确地随转我所转的无上法轮。」
‘‘No ce kira me, bhante, bhagavā kiñci garahati kāyikaṃ vā vācasikaṃ vā. Imesaṃ pana, bhante, bhagavā pañcannaṃ bhikkhusatānaṃ na kiñci garahati kāyikaṃ vā vācasikaṃ vā’’ti. ‘‘Imesampi khvāhaṃ, sāriputta, pañcannaṃ bhikkhusatānaṃ na kiñci garahāmi kāyikaṃ vā vācasikaṃ vā. Imesañhi, sāriputta, pañcannaṃ bhikkhusatānaṃ saṭṭhi bhikkhū tevijjā, saṭṭhi bhikkhū chaḷabhiññā, saṭṭhi bhikkhū ubhatobhāgavimuttā, atha itare paññāvimuttā’’ti.
「尊者,如果世尊不对我有任何身的或语的责难。尊者,那么世尊对这五百位比库不有任何身的或语的责难吗?」「沙利子,我对这五百位比库也不有任何身的或语的责难。沙利子,这五百位比库中,六十位比库是三明者,六十位比库是六神通者,六十位比库是俱分解脱者,其余的是慧解脱者。」
Atha kho āyasmā vaṅgīso uṭṭhāyāsanā ekaṃsaṃ uttarāsaṅgaṃ karitvā yena bhagavā tenañjaliṃ paṇāmetvā bhagavantaṃ etadavoca – ‘‘paṭibhāti maṃ bhagavā, paṭibhāti maṃ sugatā’’ti. ‘‘Paṭibhātu taṃ, vaṅgīsā’’ti bhagavā avoca. Atha kho āyasmā vaṅgīso bhagavantaṃ sammukhā sāruppāhi gāthāhi abhitthavi –
于是具寿旺义沙从座起立,将上衣偏袒一肩,向世尊合掌后对世尊如此说:「世尊,我有所感,善逝,我有所感。」世尊说:「旺义沙,你说吧。」于是具寿旺义沙以相应的偈颂当面赞叹世尊:
‘‘Ajja pannarase visuddhiyā, bhikkhū pañcasatā samāgatā;
「今日十五日清净日,五百位比库已聚集;
Saṃyojanabandhanacchidā , anīghā khīṇapunabbhavā isī.
诸仙人已断结缚之系缚,无恼害,已尽再生。
‘‘Cakkavattī yathā rājā, amaccaparivārito;
「犹如转轮王,为大臣所围绕;
Samantā anupariyeti, sāgarantaṃ mahiṃ imaṃ.
遍行于四周,此大地至海洋边际。
‘‘Evaṃ vijitasaṅgāmaṃ, satthavāhaṃ anuttaraṃ;
「如是已胜战之无上商主,
Sāvakā payirupāsanti, tevijjā maccuhāyino.
诸弟子亲近须跋,三明者、死魔破坏者。
‘‘Sabbe bhagavato puttā, palāpettha na vijjati;
「一切世尊之子,此中无糠秕;
Taṇhāsallassa hantāraṃ, vande ādiccabandhuna’’nti.
礼敬渴爱箭之破坏者、太阳族亲。」
8. Parosahassasuttaṃ8. 千人经

Ekaṃ samayaṃ bhagavā sāvatthiyaṃ viharati jetavane anāthapiṇḍikassa ārāme mahatā bhikkhusaṅghena saddhiṃ aḍḍhatelasehi bhikkhusatehi. Tena kho pana samayena bhagavā bhikkhū nibbānapaṭisaṃyuttāya dhammiyā kathāya sandasseti samādapeti samuttejeti sampahaṃseti. Te ca bhikkhū aṭṭhiṃ katvā manasi katvā sabbacetasā samannāharitvā ohitasotā dhammaṃ suṇanti. Atha kho āyasmato vaṅgīsassa etadahosi – ‘‘ayaṃ kho bhagavā bhikkhū nibbānapaṭisaṃyuttāya dhammiyā kathāya sandasseti samādapeti samuttejeti sampahaṃseti. 一时,世尊住在沙瓦提城揭德林给孤独园,与大比库僧团一千二百五十位比库一起。尔时,世尊以与涅槃相应的如法之语示教、劝导、鼓励、使诸比库欢喜。而诸比库作意、思惟、以全心专注、倾耳听法。时,具寿旺义沙生起此念:「此世尊以与涅槃相应的如法之语示教、劝导、鼓励、使诸比库欢喜。而诸比库作意、思惟、以全心专注、倾耳听法。我何不于世尊面前以相应之偈颂赞叹?」

「他说无垢之法,无畏的涅槃。
‘‘Suṇanti dhammaṃ vimalaṃ, sammāsambuddhadesitaṃ;
「他们听闻清净之法,正等正觉者所说;
Sobhati vata sambuddho, bhikkhusaṅghapurakkhato.
「正觉者确实辉耀,以比库僧团为前导。
‘‘Nāganāmosi bhagavā, isīnaṃ isisattamo;
「世尊,你名为龙,诸仙中最上仙;
Mahāmeghova hutvāna, sāvake abhivassati.
「如大云般,遍洒弟子们。
‘‘Divāvihārā nikkhamma, satthudassanakamyatā ;
「从日中住出来,因欲见导师;
Sāvako te mahāvīra, pāde vandati vaṅgīso’’ti.
「大雄,你的弟子旺基沙礼敬你的足。」
‘‘Kiṃ nu te, vaṅgīsa, imā gāthāyo pubbe parivitakkitā, udāhu ṭhānasova taṃ paṭibhantī’’ti? ‘Na kho me, bhante, imā gāthāyo pubbe parivitakkitā, atha kho ṭhānasova maṃ paṭibhantī’ti. ‘Tena hi taṃ, vaṅgīsa, bhiyyosomattāya pubbe aparivitakkitā gāthāyo paṭibhantū’ti. ‘Evaṃ, bhante’ti kho āyasmā vaṅgīso bhagavato paṭissutvā bhiyyosomattāya bhagavantaṃ pubbe aparivitakkitāhi gāthāhi abhitthavi –
「旺基沙,这些偈颂是你先前思考过的,还是当场即兴而来的?」「尊者,这些偈颂不是我先前思考过的,而是当场即兴而来的。」「那么,旺基沙,请你再以更多先前未思考过的偈颂即兴而说。」「是的,尊者。」具寿旺基沙应诺世尊后,以更多先前未思考过的偈颂赞颂世尊——
‘‘Ummaggapathaṃ mārassa abhibhuyya, carati pabhijja khilāni;
「征服了魔的错误之道,破除了障碍而行;
Taṃ passatha bandhapamuñcakaraṃ, asitaṃ bhāgaso pavibhajaṃ.
看那解开束缚者,不执取而分别论诸部分。
‘‘Oghassa nittharaṇatthaṃ, anekavihitaṃ maggaṃ akkhāsi;
「为了渡越瀑流之故,他宣说了多种多样的道;
Tasmiñce amate akkhāte, dhammaddasā ṭhitā asaṃhīrā.
在那所说的不死法中,见法者住立不动摇。
‘‘Pajjotakaro ativijjha , sabbaṭṭhitīnaṃ atikkamamaddasa;
「作光明者,超越了一切住处,见到了超越;
Ñatvā ca sacchikatvā ca, aggaṃ so desayi dasaddhānaṃ.
知了并现证了,他为十方宣说最上法。」
‘‘Evaṃ sudesite dhamme,
「法如此善说,
Ko pamādo vijānataṃ dhammaṃ ;
对于了知法者,何有放逸?
Tasmā hi tassa bhagavato sāsane;
因此,于彼世尊的教法中,
Appamatto sadā namassamanusikkhe’’ti.
应不放逸、常礼敬、随学。」
9. Koṇḍaññasuttaṃ9. 贡德雅经

Ekaṃ samayaṃ bhagavā rājagahe viharati veḷuvane kalandakanivāpe. Atha kho āyasmā aññāsikoṇḍañño sucirasseva yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkami; upasaṅkamitvā bhagavato pādesu sirasā nipatitvā bhagavato pādāni mukhena ca paricumbati, pāṇīhi ca parisambāhati, nāmañca sāveti – ‘‘koṇḍaññohaṃ, bhagavā, koṇḍaññohaṃ, sugatā’’ti. Atha kho āyasmato vaṅgīsassa etadahosi – ‘‘ayaṃ kho āyasmā aññāsikoṇḍañño sucirasseva yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkami; upasaṅkamitvā bhagavato pādesu sirasā nipatitvā bhagavato pādāni mukhena ca paricumbati, pāṇīhi ca parisambāhati, nāmañca sāveti – ‘koṇḍaññohaṃ, bhagavā, koṇḍaññohaṃ, sugatā’ti. 一时,世尊住在王舍城竹林咖兰达咖尼瓦巴。尔时,具寿阿念阿西衮丹念久久之后来到世尊处;来到后,以头礼拜世尊足,以口亲吻世尊足,以手抚摸,并宣告名字——「世尊,我是衮丹念,善逝,我是衮丹念。」尔时,具寿旺义萨生起此念:「此具寿阿念阿西衮丹念久久之后来到世尊处;来到后,以头礼拜世尊足,以口亲吻世尊足,以手抚摸,并宣告名字——『世尊,我是衮丹念,善逝,我是衮丹念。』我何不于世尊面前以适当的偈颂赞叹具寿阿念阿西衮丹念?」

‘‘Buddhānubuddho so thero, koṇḍañño tibbanikkamo;
「随佛觉悟的长老,衮丹念精进勇猛;
Lābhī sukhavihārānaṃ, vivekānaṃ abhiṇhaso.
获得乐住,常常远离。
‘‘Yaṃ sāvakena pattabbaṃ, satthusāsanakārinā;
「凡是弟子应达到的,奉行导师教诫的;
Sabbassa taṃ anuppattaṃ, appamattassa sikkhato.
他已完全达到一切,不放逸地学习。
‘‘Mahānubhāvo tevijjo, cetopariyāyakovido;
「大威力者、三明者、善巧他心智者;
Koṇḍañño buddhadāyādo , pāde vandati satthuno’’ti.
衮丹雅、佛陀之继承者,礼敬导师之足。」

Ekaṃ samayaṃ bhagavā rājagahe viharati isigilipasse kāḷasilāyaṃ mahatā bhikkhusaṅghena saddhiṃ pañcamattehi bhikkhusatehi sabbeheva arahantehi. Tesaṃ sudaṃ āyasmā mahāmoggallāno cetasā cittaṃ samannesati vippamuttaṃ nirupadhiṃ. Atha kho āyasmato vaṅgīsassa etadahosi – ‘‘ayaṃ kho bhagavā rājagahe viharati isigilipasse kāḷasilāyaṃ mahatā bhikkhusaṅghena saddhiṃ pañcamattehi bhikkhusatehi sabbeheva arahantehi. Tesaṃ sudaṃ āyasmā mahāmoggallāno cetasā cittaṃ samannesati vippamuttaṃ nirupadhiṃ. Yaṃnūnāhaṃ āyasmantaṃ mahāmoggallānaṃ bhagavato sammukhā sāruppāhi gāthāhi abhitthaveyya’’nti.
一时,世尊住在王舍城仙吞山侧的黑石处,与大比库僧团五百位比库在一起,他们全都是阿拉汉。具寿马哈摩嘎喇那以心观察他们的心,已解脱、无依。那时,具寿旺义沙生起这样的想法:「这位世尊住在王舍城仙吞山侧的黑石处,与大比库僧团五百位比库在一起,他们全都是阿拉汉。具寿马哈摩嘎喇那以心观察他们的心,已解脱、无依。我何不在世尊面前以适当的偈颂赞叹具寿马哈摩嘎喇那呢?」

「坐于山侧的牟尼,苦的彼岸者;
Sāvakā payirupāsanti, tevijjā maccuhāyino.
诸弟子亲近奉侍,三明者、死魔的征服者。
‘‘Te cetasā anupariyeti , moggallāno mahiddhiko;
「大神通的摩嘎喇那以心遍察他们;
Cittaṃ nesaṃ samannesaṃ , vippamuttaṃ nirūpadhiṃ.
他遍知他们的心,已解脱、无依。
‘‘Evaṃ sabbaṅgasampannaṃ, muniṃ dukkhassa pāraguṃ;
「如此具足一切支,牟尼已度苦,
Anekākārasampannaṃ, payirupāsanti gotama’’nti.
具足种种相,他们亲近果德玛。」

Tyāssudaṃ bhagavā atirocati vaṇṇena ceva yasasā ca. Atha kho āyasmato vaṅgīsassa etadahosi – ‘‘ayaṃ kho bhagavā campāyaṃ viharati gaggarāya pokkharaṇiyā tīre mahatā bhikkhusaṅghena saddhiṃ pañcamattehi bhikkhusatehi sattahi ca upāsakasatehi sattahi ca upāsikāsatehi anekehi ca devatāsahassehi. 一时,世尊住在占巴城嘎嘎喇莲池畔,与大比库僧团俱,约五百位比库、七百位近事男、七百位近事女以及数千天人。彼世尊以色与名声超胜。时,具寿瓦吉萨生起此念:「此世尊住在占巴城嘎嘎喇莲池畔,与大比库僧团俱,约五百位比库、七百位近事男、七百位近事女以及数千天人。彼世尊以色与名声超胜。我何不于世尊面前以适当的偈颂赞叹?」

‘‘Cando yathā vigatavalāhake nabhe,
「犹如月亮在无云的天空,
Virocati vigatamalova bhāṇumā;
光辉照耀,如太阳离尘垢;
Evampi aṅgīrasa tvaṃ mahāmuni,
安其拉萨,你这位大牟尼,
Atirocasi yasasā sabbaloka’’nti.
如此以名声超越一切世间。
12. Vaṅgīsasuttaṃ12. 宛义萨经
§220
Ekaṃ samayaṃ āyasmā vaṅgīso sāvatthiyaṃ viharati jetavane anāthapiṇḍikassa ārāme . Tena kho pana samayena āyasmā vaṅgīso aciraarahattappatto hutvā vimuttisukhaṃ paṭisaṃvedī tāyaṃ velāyaṃ imā gāthāyo abhāsi –
一时,具寿旺其萨住在沙瓦提城揭德林阿那他宾地咖的园林。尔时,具寿旺其萨刚证得阿拉汉不久,感受解脱之乐,在那时候说了这些偈颂——
‘‘Kāveyyamattā vicarimha pubbe, gāmā gāmaṃ purā puraṃ;
「我们以前仅为诗歌而游行,从村到村,从城到城;
Athaddasāma sambuddhaṃ, saddhā no upapajjatha.
然后我们见到了正自觉者,我们的信生起了。
‘‘So me dhammamadesesi, khandhāyatanadhātuyo ;
他为我教导了法:诸蕴、诸处、诸界;
Tassāhaṃ dhammaṃ sutvāna, pabbajiṃ anagāriyaṃ.
我听闻了他的法后,出家成为非家者。
‘‘Bahunnaṃ vata atthāya, bodhiṃ ajjhagamā muni;
确实为了众多者的利益,牟尼证得了菩提;
Bhikkhūnaṃ bhikkhunīnañca, ye niyāmagataddasā.
对于比库们和比库尼们,那些已见决定者。
‘‘Svāgataṃ vata me āsi, mama buddhassa santike;
「确实,我来到世尊面前是善来;
Tisso vijjā anuppattā, kataṃ buddhassa sāsanaṃ.
三明已证得,世尊的教诫已完成。
‘‘Pubbenivāsaṃ jānāmi, dibbacakkhuṃ visodhitaṃ;
「我知宿住,天眼已清净;
Tevijjo iddhipattomhi, cetopariyāyakovido’’ti.
我是三明者、得神通者,精通他心智。」
