Na vattabbaṃ – ‘‘sekhassa asekhaṃ ñāṇaṃ atthī’’ti? Āmantā. Nanu āyasmā ānando sekho – ‘‘bhagavā uḷāro’’ti jānāti, ‘‘sāriputto thero, mahāmoggallāno thero uḷāro’’ti jānātīti? Āmantā. Hañci āyasmā ānando sekho – ‘‘bhagavā uḷāro’’ti jānāti, ‘‘sāriputto thero, mahāmoggallāno thero uḷāro’’ti jānāti, tena vata re vattabbe – ‘‘sekhassa asekhaṃ ñāṇaṃ atthī’’ti.

Na vattabbaṃ – ‘‘aniyatassa niyāmagamanāya atthi ñāṇa’’nti? Āmantā. Nanu bhagavā jānāti – ‘‘ayaṃ puggalo sammattaniyāmaṃ okkamissati, bhabbo ayaṃ puggalo dhammaṃ abhisametu’’nti? Āmantā. Hañci bhagavā jānāti – ‘‘ayaṃ puggalo sammattaniyāmaṃ okkamissati, bhabbo ayaṃ puggalo dhammaṃ abhisametuṃ,’’ tena vata re vattabbe – ‘‘aniyatassa niyāmagamanāya atthi ñāṇa’’nti.
不应说——「不定者趣向决定,有智」吗?是的,尊者。世尊不是知道——「此补特伽罗将进入正性决定,此补特伽罗有能力现观法」吗?是的,尊者。如果世尊知道——「此补特伽罗将进入正性决定,此补特伽罗有能力现观法」,那么确实应说——「不定者趣向决定,有智」。
