157如是我闻:一时,世尊住在舍卫城祇树给孤独园。在那里,世尊称呼比丘们:「诸比丘。」「尊者。」那些比丘回答世尊。世尊说此:
Evaṃ me sutaṃ – ekaṃ samayaṃ bhagavā sāvatthiyaṃ viharati jetavane anāthapiṇḍikassa ārāme. Tatra kho bhagavā bhikkhū āmantesi – ‘‘bhikkhavo’’ti. ‘‘Bhadante’’ti te bhikkhū bhagavato paccassosuṃ. Bhagavā etadavoca –
5“比丘们,利养、恭敬、名声是残酷的、苦涩的、粗暴的,是证得无上离轭安稳的障碍。因此,比丘们,你们应当这样学:‘对于已生起的利养、恭敬、名声,我们将舍弃它;已生起的利养、恭敬、名声,不会占据我们的心而停留。’比丘们,你们确实应当这样学。”第一经。
‘‘Dāruṇo, bhikkhave, lābhasakkārasiloko kaṭuko pharuso antarāyiko anuttarassa yogakkhemassa adhigamāya. 158在舍卫城……世尊说:‘比丘们,利养、恭敬、名声是可怕的,是证得无上离轭安稳的障碍。比丘们,我这样以心察心了知一个人:“这位尊者即使为了装满金粉的银钵,也不会故意说谎。”可是后来,我却看到他已被利养、恭敬、名声征服,心被占据,故意说谎。比丘们,利养、恭敬、名声就是如此可怕……比丘们,你们应当这样学习。’ 第二经。
Sāvatthiyaṃ viharati…pe… ‘‘dāruṇo, bhikkhave, lābhasakkārasiloko kaṭuko pharuso antarāyiko anuttarassa yogakkhemassa adhigamāya. Seyyathāpi, bhikkhave, bāḷisiko āmisagataṃ baḷisaṃ gambhīre udakarahade pakkhipeyya. Tamenaṃ aññataro āmisacakkhu maccho gileyya. Evañhi so, bhikkhave, maccho gilabaḷiso bāḷisikassa anayaṃ āpanno byasanaṃ āpanno yathākāmakaraṇīyo bāḷisikassa’’.
9“比丘们,‘钓鱼者’这个词,是对魔罗、那个邪恶者的称呼。比丘们,‘鱼钩’这个词,是对利养、恭敬、名声的称呼。比丘们,不管哪一个比丘,对于已生起的利养、恭敬、名声去享受它、贪着它,比丘们,这个比丘就被称为吞了魔罗之钩者,遭遇了不幸,遭遇了灾祸,完全任由邪恶者随意处置。比丘们,利养、恭敬、名声就是如此残酷、如此苦涩、如此粗暴,是证得无上离轭安稳的障碍。因此,比丘们,你们应当这样学:‘对于已生起的利养、恭敬、名声,我们将舍弃它;已生起的利养、恭敬、名声,不会占据我们的心而停留。’比丘们,你们确实应当这样学。”第二经。
‘‘Bāḷisikoti kho, bhikkhave, mārassetaṃ pāpimato adhivacanaṃ. Baḷisanti kho, bhikkhave , lābhasakkārasilokassetaṃ adhivacanaṃ. Yo hi koci , bhikkhave, bhikkhu uppannaṃ lābhasakkārasilokaṃ assādeti nikāmeti, ayaṃ vuccati, bhikkhave, bhikkhu gilabaḷiso mārassa anayaṃ āpanno byasanaṃ āpanno yathākāmakaraṇīyo pāpimato. Evaṃ dāruṇo kho, bhikkhave , lābhasakkārasiloko kaṭuko pharuso antarāyiko anuttarassa yogakkhemassa adhigamāya. Tasmātiha, bhikkhave, evaṃ sikkhitabbaṃ – ‘uppannaṃ lābhasakkārasilokaṃ pajahissāma, na ca no uppanno lābhasakkārasiloko cittaṃ pariyādāya ṭhassatī’ti. Evañhi vo, bhikkhave, sikkhitabba’’nti. 159住在舍卫城……「诸比丘,利养、恭敬、名声是可怕的……证得。诸比丘,过去世,在某个水池中有大龟族长久居住。诸比丘,时,某只龟对另一只龟说此:『亲爱的龟,你不要去那个地方。』诸比丘,那只龟去了那个地方。猎人用箭射中了它。诸比丘,时,那只龟去到那只龟处。诸比丘,那只龟远远地看见那只龟来。看见后,对那只龟说此:『亲爱的龟,你没有去那个地方吧?』『亲爱的龟,我确实去了那个地方。』『亲爱的龟,你没有受伤、没有受害吧?』『亲爱的龟,我没有受伤、没有受害,但有这根线从背后、从背后跟随着我。』『亲爱的龟,你确实受伤了,你确实受害了。亲爱的龟,你的父亲们和祖父们正是因为这根线而遭遇不幸、遭遇灾祸。亲爱的龟,现在你走吧,现在你不再是我们的了。』」
Sāvatthiyaṃ viharati…pe… ‘‘dāruṇo , bhikkhave, lābhasakkārasiloko…pe… adhigamāya. Bhūtapubbaṃ, bhikkhave, aññatarasmiṃ udakarahade mahākummakulaṃ ciranivāsi ahosi. Atha kho, bhikkhave, aññataro kummo aññataraṃ kummaṃ etadavoca – ‘mā kho tvaṃ, tāta kumma, etaṃ padesaṃ agamāsī’ti. Agamāsi kho, bhikkhave, so kummo taṃ padesaṃ. Tamenaṃ luddo papatāya vijjhi. Atha kho, bhikkhave, so kummo yena so kummo tenupasaṅkami. Addasā kho, bhikkhave, so kummo taṃ kummaṃ dūratova āgacchantaṃ. Disvāna taṃ kummaṃ etadavoca – ‘kacci tvaṃ, tāta kumma, na taṃ padesaṃ agamāsī’ti? ‘Agamāsiṃ khvāhaṃ, tāta kumma, taṃ padesa’nti. ‘Kacci panāsi, tāta kumma, akkhato anupahato’ti? ‘Akkhato khomhi, tāta kumma, anupahato, atthi ca me idaṃ suttakaṃ piṭṭhito piṭṭhito anubandha’nti. ‘Tagghasi, tāta kumma, khato, taggha upahato. Etena hi te, tāta kumma, suttakena pitaro ca pitāmahā ca anayaṃ āpannā byasanaṃ āpannā. Gaccha dāni tvaṃ, tāta kumma, na dāni tvaṃ amhāka’’’nti.
13「诸比丘,『猎人』是魔波旬的同义语。诸比丘,『箭』是利养、恭敬、名声的同义语。诸比丘,『线』是欢喜贪的同义语。诸比丘,任何比丘享受、爱乐已生起的利养、恭敬、名声——诸比丘,此被称为贪着于箭之比丘,遭遇不幸、遭遇灾祸,成为波旬可随意处置者。诸比丘,利养、恭敬、名声如此可怕……诸比丘,你们确实应当如此学。」第三经。
‘‘Luddoti kho, bhikkhave, mārassetaṃ pāpimato adhivacanaṃ. Papatāti kho, bhikkhave, lābhasakkārasilokassetaṃ adhivacanaṃ. Suttakanti kho, bhikkhave, nandirāgassetaṃ adhivacanaṃ. Yo hi koci, bhikkhave, bhikkhu uppannaṃ lābhasakkārasilokaṃ assādeti nikāmeti – ayaṃ vuccati, bhikkhave, bhikkhu giddho papatāya anayaṃ āpanno byasanaṃ āpanno yathākāmakaraṇīyo pāpimato. 160住在舍卫城……「诸比丘,利养、恭敬、名声是可怕的……证得。诸比丘,譬如长毛母羊进入荆棘丛。它在那里那里被钩住,在那里那里被抓住,在那里那里被缠缚,在那里那里遭遇不幸与灾祸。诸比丘,同样地,在此,某位比丘被利养、恭敬、名声征服,心被占据,在上午时分穿好衣,持钵与衣,为了托钵而进入村或镇。他在那里那里被钩住,在那里那里被抓住,在那里那里被缠缚,在那里那里遭遇不幸与灾祸。诸比丘,利养、恭敬、名声如此可怕……诸比丘,你们确实应当如此学。」第四经。
Sāvatthiyaṃ viharati…pe… ‘‘dāruṇo, bhikkhave, lābhasakkārasiloko…pe… adhigamāya. Seyyathāpi, bhikkhave, dīghalomikā eḷakā kaṇṭakagahanaṃ paviseyya. Sā tatra tatra sajjeyya, tatra tatra gayheyya , tatra tatra bajjheyya, tatra tatra anayabyasanaṃ āpajjeyya. ‘Evameva kho, bhikkhave, idhekacco bhikkhu lābhasakkārasilokena abhibhūto pariyādiṇṇacitto pubbaṇhasamayaṃ nivāsetvā pattacīvaramādāya gāmaṃ vā nigamaṃ vā piṇḍāya pavisati. So tatra tatra sajjati, tatra tatra gayhati, tatra tatra bajjhati, tatra tatra anayabyasanaṃ āpajjati. Evaṃ dāruṇo kho, bhikkhave, lābhasakkārasiloko…pe… evañhi vo, bhikkhave, sikkhitabba’’’nti. 161住在舍卫城……「诸比丘,利养、恭敬、名声是可怕的……为了证得。诸比丘,譬如粪虫,以粪为食,充满粪便。在它前面有大粪堆。它会因此轻视其他粪虫——『我是以粪为食者,充满粪便,在我前面有这大粪堆』。诸比丘,同样地,这里某位比丘被利养、恭敬、名声所征服,心被占据,在上午时分穿好衣,拿着钵与衣,进入村或镇为了托钵。他在那里已吃到满足,被邀请明日,钵食充满。他去到寺院,在比丘众中间夸耀——『我已吃到满足,我被邀请明日,我的钵食充满,我是衣、食、住所、病者所需药品资具的获得者,而这些其他比丘少福德、少威力,不是衣、食、住所、病者所需药品资具的获得者』。他被那利养、恭敬、名声所征服,心被占据,轻视其他善良的比丘。诸比丘,那对那愚人来说,长夜导致不利与苦。诸比丘,利养、恭敬、名声是如此可怕的……诸比丘,你们应当这样学。」第五经。
Sāvatthiyaṃ viharati…pe… ‘‘dāruṇo, bhikkhave, lābhasakkārasiloko…pe… adhigamāya. Seyyathāpi, bhikkhave, mīḷhakā gūthādī gūthapūrā puṇṇā gūthassa. Purato cassa mahāgūthapuñjo. Sā tena aññā mīḷhakā atimaññeyya – ‘ahamhi gūthādī gūthapūrā puṇṇā gūthassa, purato ca myāyaṃ mahāgūthapuñjo’ti. Evameva kho, bhikkhave, idhekacco bhikkhu lābhasakkārasilokena abhibhūto pariyādiṇṇacitto pubbaṇhasamayaṃ nivāsetvā pattacīvaramādāya gāmaṃ vā nigamaṃ vā piṇḍāya pavisati. So tattha bhuttāvī ca hoti yāvadattho, nimantito ca svātanāya, piṇḍapāto cassa pūro. So ārāmaṃ gantvā bhikkhugaṇassa majjhe vikatthati – ‘bhuttāvī camhi yāvadattho, nimantito camhi svātanāya, piṇḍapāto ca myāyaṃ pūro, lābhī camhi cīvara-piṇḍapāta-senāsana-gilānappaccaya-bhesajjaparikkhārānaṃ, ime panaññe bhikkhū appapuññā appesakkhā na lābhino cīvara-piṇḍapātasenāsana-gilānappaccaya-bhesajja-parikkhārāna’nti. So tena lābhasakkārasilokena abhibhūto pariyādiṇṇacitto aññe pesale bhikkhū atimaññati. Tañhi tassa, bhikkhave , moghapurisassa hoti dīgharattaṃ ahitāya dukkhāya. Evaṃ dāruṇo kho, bhikkhave, lābhasakkārasiloko…pe… evañhi vo bhikkhave, sikkhitabba’’nti. Pañcamaṃ.

Sāvatthiyaṃ viharati…pe… ‘‘dāruṇo, bhikkhave, lābhasakkārasiloko…pe… adhigamāya. Kaṃ, bhikkhave, asanivicakkaṃ āgacchatu , sekhaṃ appattamānasaṃ lābhasakkārasiloko anupāpuṇātu’’ .
22「诸比丘,『霹雳』,这是利养、恭敬、名声的同义语。诸比丘,利养、恭敬、名声是如此可怕的……诸比丘,你们应当这样学。」第六经。

Sāvatthiyaṃ viharati…pe… ‘‘dāruṇo , bhikkhave, lābhasakkārasiloko…pe… adhigamāya. Kaṃ, bhikkhave, diddhagatena visallena sallena vijjhatu, sekhaṃ appattamānasaṃ lābhasakkārasiloko anupāpuṇātu’’ .
26「诸比丘,『箭』,这是利养、恭敬、名声的同义语。诸比丘,利养、恭敬、名声是如此可怕的……诸比丘,你们应当这样学。」第七经。

164住在舍卫城……「诸比丘,利养、恭敬、名声是可怕的……为了证得。诸比丘,你们是否听到夜晚黎明时分老豺狼在嚎叫?」「是的,尊者。」「诸比丘,那老豺狼被称为疥癣的疾病所触,去洞穴不乐,去树根不乐,去露地不乐;无论它去哪里,无论它站在哪里,无论它坐在哪里,无论它躺在哪里;处处它遭遇灾难与不幸。诸比丘,同样地,这里某位比丘被利养、恭敬、名声所征服,心被吞没,去空寂之处不乐,去树根不乐,去露地不乐;无论他去哪里,无论他站在哪里,无论他坐在哪里,无论他躺在哪里;处处他遭遇灾难与不幸。诸比丘,利养、恭敬、名声是如此可怕的……诸比丘,你们应当这样学。」第八经。

Assuttha no tumhe, bhikkhave, rattiyā paccūsasamayaṃ jarasiṅgālassa vassamānassā’’ti? ‘‘Evaṃ, bhante’’. ‘‘Eso kho, bhikkhave, jarasiṅgālo ukkaṇḍakena nāma rogajātena phuṭṭho neva bilagato ramati, na rukkhamūlagato ramati, na ajjhokāsagato ramati; yena yena gacchati, yattha yattha tiṭṭhati, yattha yattha nisīdati, yattha yattha nipajjati; tattha tattha anayabyasanaṃ āpajjati. 165住在舍卫城……「诸比丘,利养、恭敬、名声是可怕的……为了证得。诸比丘,在上空有称为韦兰巴的风在吹。在那里,无论哪只鸟去,韦兰巴风就抛掷它。当它被韦兰巴风抛掷时,它的脚去一边,翅膀去一边,头去一边,身体去一边。诸比丘,同样地,这里某位比丘被利养、恭敬、名声所征服,心被吞没,在上午时分穿好衣,拿着钵与衣,进入村或镇为了托钵,以不防护的身、不防护的语、不防护的心、不现起的念、不防护的诸根。他在那里看见女人衣着不整或衣着不当。他看见女人衣着不整或衣着不当后,贪染侵袭心。他以被贪染侵袭的心,舍弃学处,退回下劣。他的衣被拿走一边,钵被拿走一边,坐具被拿走一边,针筒被拿走一边,如同被韦兰巴风抛掷的鸟。诸比丘,利养、恭敬、名声是如此可怕的……诸比丘,你们应当这样学。」第九经。
Sāvatthiyaṃ viharati…pe… ‘‘dāruṇo, bhikkhave, lābhasakkārasiloko…pe… adhigamāya. Upari, bhikkhave, ākāse verambhā nāma vātā vāyanti. Tattha yo pakkhī gacchati tamenaṃ verambhā vātā khipanti. Tassa verambhavātakkhittassa aññeneva pādā gacchanti, aññena pakkhā gacchanti, aññena sīsaṃ gacchati, aññena kāyo gacchati. Evameva kho, bhikkhave, idhekacco bhikkhu lābhasakkārasilokena abhibhūto pariyādiṇṇacitto pubbaṇhasamayaṃ nivāsetvā pattacīvaramādāya gāmaṃ vā nigamaṃ vā piṇḍāya pavisati arakkhiteneva kāyena arakkhitāya vācāya arakkhitena cittena, anupaṭṭhitāya satiyā, asaṃvutehi indriyehi. So tattha passati mātugāmaṃ dunnivatthaṃ vā duppārutaṃ vā. Tassa mātugāmaṃ disvā dunnivatthaṃ vā duppārutaṃ vā rāgo cittaṃ anuddhaṃseti. So rāgānuddhaṃsitena cittena sikkhaṃ paccakkhāya hīnāyāvattati. Tassa aññe cīvaraṃ haranti, aññe pattaṃ haranti, aññe nisīdanaṃ haranti, aññe sūcigharaṃ haranti, verambhavātakkhittasseva sakuṇassa. Evaṃ dāruṇo kho, bhikkhave, lābhasakkārasiloko…pe… evañhi vo, bhikkhave, sikkhitabba’’nti. Navamaṃ.

166住在舍卫城……「诸比丘,利养、恭敬、名声是可怕的……为了证得。诸比丘,我在这里看见某人被恭敬所征服,心被吞没,身坏命终后,生于苦界、恶趣、堕处、地狱。诸比丘,而我在这里看见某人被不恭敬所征服,心被吞没,身坏命终后,生于苦界、恶趣、堕处、地狱。诸比丘,而我在这里看见某人被恭敬与不恭敬两者所征服,心被吞没,身坏命终后,生于苦界、恶趣、堕处、地狱。诸比丘,利养、恭敬、名声是如此可怕的……诸比丘,你们应当这样学。」
Sāvatthiyaṃ viharati…pe… ‘‘dāruṇo, bhikkhave, lābhasakkārasiloko…pe… adhigamāya. Idhāhaṃ, bhikkhave, ekaccaṃ puggalaṃ passāmi sakkārena abhibhūtaṃ pariyādiṇṇacittaṃ, kāyassa bhedā paraṃ maraṇā apāyaṃ duggatiṃ vinipātaṃ nirayaṃ upapannaṃ. Idha panāhaṃ, bhikkhave , ekaccaṃ puggalaṃ passāmi asakkārena abhibhūtaṃ pariyādiṇṇacittaṃ, kāyassa bhedā paraṃ maraṇā apāyaṃ duggatiṃ vinipātaṃ nirayaṃ upapannaṃ. Idha panāhaṃ, bhikkhave, ekaccaṃ puggalaṃ passāmi sakkārena ca asakkārena ca tadubhayena abhibhūtaṃ pariyādiṇṇacittaṃ, kāyassa bhedā paraṃ maraṇā apāyaṃ duggatiṃ vinipātaṃ nirayaṃ upapannaṃ. Evaṃ dāruṇo kho, bhikkhave, lābhasakkārasiloko…pe… evañhi vo, bhikkhave, sikkhitabba’’nti.
36这是世尊所说。善逝说了这个之后,导师又进一步说了以下的话:
Idamavoca bhagavā. Idaṃ vatvāna sugato athāparaṃ etadavoca satthā –
37「对于被恭敬时,以及不被恭敬时,两者都;
‘‘Yassa sakkariyamānassa, asakkārena cūbhayaṃ;
38定不动摇,住于无量住者。
Samādhi na vikampati, appamāṇavihārino .
39「那位持续禅修者,微细见之观察者;
‘‘Taṃ jhāyinaṃ sātatikaṃ, sukhumaṃ diṭṭhivipassakaṃ;
40乐于取灭者,他们称为善人。」第十经。

167住在舍卫城……「诸比丘,利养、恭敬、名闻是可怕的……为了证得。诸比丘,在此,我以心遍知某人的心而了知——『此具寿即使为了装满金钵的银粉之因,也不会故意说妄语』。我见他于后时被利养、恭敬、名闻所征服,心被吞没,故意说妄语。诸比丘,利养、恭敬、名闻是如此可怕的……诸比丘,你们应当如此学」。第一经。

Idhāhaṃ, bhikkhave, ekaccaṃ puggalaṃ evaṃ cetasā ceto paricca pajānāmi – ‘na cāyamāyasmā suvaṇṇapātiyāpi rūpiyacuṇṇaparipūrāya hetu sampajānamusā bhāseyyā’ti. 184有一次,世尊住在王舍城灵鹫山,那时提婆达多刚离开不久。在那里,世尊针对提婆达多这件事,对比丘们说:“比丘们,利养、恭敬、名声是在提婆达多身上生起的、为了毁灭他自己的东西,利养、恭敬、名声是在提婆达多身上生起的、为了让他衰败的东西。”

185(世尊)住在王舍城竹林迦兰陀迦园。那时,阿阇世王子每天早晚用五百辆车去侍奉提婆达多,还送去五百锅饭作为食物供养。于是,众多比丘来到世尊那里,到了之后,向世尊礼敬,坐在一旁。坐在一旁后,那些比丘对世尊说:“尊者,阿阇世王子每天早晚用五百辆车去侍奉提婆达多,还送去五百锅饭作为食物供养。” “比丘们,不要羡慕提婆达多的利养、恭敬、名声。比丘们,只要阿阇世王子还每天早晚用五百辆车去侍奉提婆达多,还送去五百锅饭作为食物供养,那么,比丘们,提婆达多在善法上就只会退步,而不会增长。”
Rājagahe viharati veḷuvane kalandakanivāpe. Tena kho pana samayena devadattassa ajātasattukumāro pañcahi rathasatehi sāyaṃ pātaṃ upaṭṭhānaṃ gacchati, pañca ca thālipākasatāni bhattābhihāro abhiharīyati. Atha kho sambahulā bhikkhū yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkamiṃsu; upasaṅkamitvā bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ nisīdiṃsu. Ekamantaṃ nisinnā kho te bhikkhū bhagavantaṃ etadavocuṃ – ‘‘devadattassa, bhante, ajātasattukumāro pañcahi rathasatehi sāyaṃ pātaṃ upaṭṭhānaṃ gacchati, pañca ca thālipākasatāni bhattābhihāro abhiharīyatī’’ti. ‘‘Mā, bhikkhave, devadattassa lābhasakkārasilokaṃ pihayittha. Yāvakīvañca, bhikkhave, devadattassa ajātasattukumāro pañcahi rathasatehi sāyaṃ pātaṃ upaṭṭhānaṃ gamissati, pañca ca thālipākasatāni bhattābhihāro āharīyissati, hāniyeva, bhikkhave, devadattassa pāṭikaṅkhā kusalesu dhammesu, no vuddhi’’.
121「诸比丘,譬如有人击破凶恶狗的鼻子使其流血,诸比丘,那只狗会变得更加凶恶;同样地,诸比丘,只要未生怨王子每日早晚以五百辆车前往侍奉提婆达多,并供养五百钵食物,诸比丘,提婆达多在善法上应当预期的只有衰退,而非增长。诸比丘,利养、恭敬、名声是如此可怕……(中略)……诸比丘,你们应当如是学。」第六。
