402那时,佛陀世尊住在释迦族国境内的迦毗罗卫,在尼拘律园里。当时,大爱道果德弥来到世尊那里,到了之后,向世尊礼敬,然后站在一旁。站在一旁的大爱道果德弥对世尊这样说:“尊者,如果妇女能在如来所宣说的法与律中,获得从在家到无家的出家,那就好了。”世尊说:“够了,果德弥,你不要喜欢妇女在如来所宣说的法与律中获得从在家到无家的出家这件事。”第二次……乃至……第三次,大爱道果德弥又对世尊这样说:“尊者,如果妇女能在如来所宣说的法与律中,获得从在家到无家的出家,那就好了。”世尊说:“够了,果德弥,你不要喜欢妇女在如来所宣说的法与律中获得从在家到无家的出家这件事。”于是,大爱道果德弥心想:“世尊不允许妇女在如来所宣说的法与律中从在家到无家出家。”她痛苦、沮丧、泪流满面、哭泣着,向世尊礼敬,右绕之后,离开了。
Tena samayena buddho bhagavā sakkesu viharati kapilavatthusmiṃ nigrodhārāme. Atha kho mahāpajāpati gotamī yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkami, upasaṅkamitvā bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ aṭṭhāsi. Ekamantaṃ ṭhitā kho mahāpajāpati gotamī bhagavantaṃ etadavoca – ‘‘sādhu, bhante, labheyya mātugāmo tathāgatappavedite dhammavinaye agārasmā anagāriyaṃ pabbajja’’nti. ‘‘Alaṃ, gotami, mā te rucci mātugāmassa tathāgatappavedite dhammavinaye agārasmā anagāriyaṃ pabbajjā’’ti. Dutiyampi kho…pe… tatiyampi kho mahapajāpati gotamī bhagavantaṃ etadavoca – ‘‘sādhu, bhante, labheyya mātugāmo tathāgatappavedite dhammavinaye agārasmā anagāriyaṃ pabbajja’’nti. ‘‘Alaṃ, gotami, mā te rucci mātugāmassa tathāgatappavedite dhammavinaye agārasmā anagāriyaṃ pabbajjā’’ti. Atha kho mahāpajāpati gotamī – na bhagavā anujānāti mātugāmassa tathāgatappavedite dhammavinaye agārasmā anagāriyaṃ pabbajjanti – dukkhī dummanā assumukhī rudamānā bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā padakkhiṇaṃ katvā pakkāmi.
2那时,世尊在迦毗罗卫随心所欲地住了一段时间后,就向毗舍离出发游行了。一路次第游行,到达了毗舍离。就在那里,世尊住在毗舍离的大林重阁讲堂。而大爱道果德弥剃除了头发,穿上了袈裟,与众多释迦族的妇女一起,朝着毗舍离出发了。一路次第而行,她们来到了毗舍离的大林重阁讲堂。那时,大爱道果德弥双脚浮肿,肢体沾满尘埃,痛苦、沮丧、泪流满面、哭泣着,站在门楼外面。具寿阿难看见大爱道果德弥双脚浮肿,肢体沾满尘埃,痛苦、沮丧、泪流满面、哭泣着站在门楼外面。看到后,便对大爱道果德弥这样说:“果德弥,你为什么双脚浮肿,肢体沾满尘埃,痛苦、沮丧、泪流满面、哭泣着站在门楼外面呢?”她回答说:“阿难尊者,是因为世尊不允许妇女在如来所宣说的法与律中,从在家到无家出家。”阿难说:“既然如此,果德弥,请你就在这里稍等片刻,待我去向世尊请求,允许妇女在如来所宣说的法与律中,从在家到无家出家。”
Atha kho bhagavā kapilavatthusmiṃ yathābhirantaṃ viharitvā yena vesālī tena cārikaṃ pakkāmi. Anupubbena cārikaṃ caramāno yena vesālī tadavasari. Tatra sudaṃ bhagavā vesāliyaṃ viharati mahāvane kūṭāgārasālāyaṃ. Atha kho mahāpajāpati gotamī kese chedāpetvā kāsāyāni vatthāni acchādetvā sambahulāhi sākiyānīhi saddhiṃ yena vesālī tena pakkāmi. Anupubbena yena vesālī mahāvanaṃ kūṭāgārasālā tenupasaṅkami. Atha kho mahāpajāpati gotamī sūnehi pādehi rajokiṇṇena gattena dukkhī dummanā assumukhī rudamānā bahidvārakoṭṭhake aṭṭhāsi. Addasā kho āyasmā ānando mahāpajāpatiṃ gotamiṃ sūnehi pādehi rajokiṇṇena gattena dukkhiṃ dummanaṃ assumukhiṃ rudamānaṃ bahidvārakoṭṭhake ṭhitaṃ. Disvāna mahāpajāpatiṃ gotamiṃ etadavoca – ‘‘kissa tvaṃ, gotami, sūnehi pādehi rajokiṇṇena gattena dukkhī dummanā assumukhī rudamānā bahidvārakoṭṭhake ṭhitā’’ti? ‘‘Tathā hi pana, bhante ānanda, na bhagavā anujānāti mātugāmassa tathāgatappavedite dhammavinaye agārasmā anagāriyaṃ pabbajja’’nti. ‘‘Tena hi tvaṃ, gotami, muhuttaṃ idheva tāva hohi, yāvāhaṃ bhagavantaṃ yācāmi mātugāmassa tathāgatappavedite dhammavinaye agārasmā anagāriyaṃ pabbajja’’nti.
3那时,具寿阿难来到世尊那里,到了之后,向世尊礼敬,然后在一边坐下。坐在一边的具寿阿难对世尊这样说:“尊者,那位大爱道果德弥双脚浮肿,肢体沾满尘埃,痛苦、沮丧、泪流满面、哭泣着站在门楼外面,因为世尊不允许妇女在如来所宣说的法与律中从在家到无家出家。尊者,如果妇女能在如来所宣说的法与律中,获得从在家到无家的出家,那就好了。”世尊说:“够了,阿难,你不要喜欢妇女在如来所宣说的法与律中获得从在家到无家的出家这件事。”第二次……乃至……第三次,具寿阿难又对世尊这样说:“尊者,如果妇女能在如来所宣说的法与律中,获得从在家到无家的出家,那就好了。”世尊说:“够了,阿难,你不要喜欢妇女在如来所宣说的法与律中获得从在家到无家的出家这件事。”
Atha kho āyasmā ānando yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkami, upasaṅkamitvā bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ nisīdi. Ekamantaṃ nisinno kho āyasmā ānando bhagavantaṃ etadavoca – ‘‘esā, bhante, mahāpajāpati gotamī sūnehi pādehi rajokiṇṇena gattena dukkhī dummanā assumukhī rudamānā bahidvārakoṭṭhake ṭhitā – na bhagavā anujānāti mātugāmassa tathāgatappavedite dhammavinaye agārasmā anagāriyaṃ pabbajjanti. Sādhu, bhante, labheyya mātugāmo tathāgatappavedite dhammavinaye agārasmā anagāriyaṃ pabbajja’’nti. ‘‘Alaṃ, ānanda, mā te rucci mātugāmassa tathāgatappavedite dhammavinaye agārasmā anagāriyaṃ pabbajjā’’ti. 4那时,具寿阿难心想:“世尊不允许妇女在如来所宣说的法与律中从在家到无家出家。那么,我何不用另一种方式来向世尊请求,允许妇女在如来所宣说的法与律中从在家到无家出家呢?”于是,具寿阿难对世尊这样说:“尊者,妇女在如来所宣说的法与律中从在家到无家出家之后,是否有能力现证入流果、一来果、不来果或阿拉汉果呢?”世尊回答:“阿难,妇女在如来所宣说的法与律中从在家到无家出家之后,有能力现证入流果、一来果、不来果和阿拉汉果。”阿难说:“尊者,既然妇女在如来所宣说的法与律中从在家到无家出家之后,有能力现证入流果、一来果、不来果和阿拉汉果,那么,尊者,大爱道果德弥对世尊有大恩惠,她是姨母、养母、哺乳者,在生母去世后,是她用自己的乳汁哺育了世尊。尊者,如果妇女能在如来所宣说的法与律中,获得从在家到无家的出家,那就好了。”
Atha kho āyasmā ānando – ‘‘na bhagavā anujānāti mātugāmassa tathāgatappavedite dhammavinaye agārasmā anagāriyaṃ pabbajjaṃ; yaṃnūnāhaṃ aññenapi pariyāyena bhagavantaṃ yāceyyaṃ mātugāmassa tathāgatappavedite dhammavinaye agārasmā anagāriyaṃ pabbajja’’nti. Atha kho āyasmā ānando bhagavantaṃ etadavoca – ‘‘bhabbo nu kho, bhante, mātugāmo tathāgatappavedite dhammavinaye agārasmā anagāriyaṃ pabbajitvā sotāpattiphalaṃ vā sakadāgāmiphalaṃ vā anāgāmiphalaṃ vā arahattaphalaṃ vā sacchikātu’’nti? ‘‘Bhabbo, ānanda, mātugāmo tathāgatappavedite dhammavinaye agārasmā anagāriyaṃ pabbajitvā sotāpattiphalampi sakadāgāmiphalampi anāgāmiphalampi arahattaphalampi sacchikātu’’nti. ‘‘Sace, bhante, bhabbo mātugāmo tathāgatappavedite dhammavinaye agārasmā anagāriyaṃ pabbajitvā sotāpattiphalampi sakadāgāmiphalampi anāgāmiphalampi arahattaphalampi sacchikātuṃ; bahūpakārā, bhante, mahāpajāpati gotamī bhagavato mātucchā āpādikā , posikā, khīrassa dāyikā, bhagavantaṃ janettiyā kālaṅkatāya thaññaṃ pāyesi; sādhu, bhante, labheyya mātugāmo tathāgatappavedite dhammavinaye agārasmā anagāriyaṃ pabbajja’’nti.
7八重法
Aṭṭhagarudhammā
403“阿难,如果大爱道果德弥能接受八条重法,那就是她的具足戒了。”
‘‘Sace, ānanda, mahāpajāpatī gotamī aṭṭha garudhamme paṭiggaṇhāti, sāvassā. Hotu upasampadā.
6“一位即使受具足戒已满百年的比丘尼,也应当对一位当天才受具足戒的比丘进行顶礼、起身迎接、行合掌礼、履行一切恭敬之法。这条法必须恭敬、尊重、尊崇、敬奉,终生不得违越。”
‘‘Vassasatūpasampannāya bhikkhuniyā tadahupasampannassa bhikkhuno abhivādanaṃ paccuṭṭhānaṃ añjalikammaṃ sāmīcikammaṃ kātabbaṃ. Ayampi dhammo sakkatvā garukatvā mānetvā pūjetvā yāvajīvaṃ anatikkamanīyo.
7“比丘尼不能在没有比丘的住处入雨安居。这条法必须恭敬、尊重、尊崇、敬奉,终生不得违越。”
‘‘Na bhikkhuniyā abhikkhuke āvāse vassaṃ vasitabbaṃ. Ayampi dhammo sakkatvā garukatvā mānetvā pūjetvā yāvajīvaṃ anatikkamanīyo.
8“每半个月,比丘尼应当从比丘僧团那里请法两件事:询问诵戒日,以及前去求教诫。这条法必须恭敬、尊重、尊崇、敬奉,终生不得违越。”
‘‘Anvaddhamāsaṃ bhikkhuniyā bhikkhusaṅghato dve dhammā paccāsīsitabbā – uposathapucchakañca, ovādūpasaṅkamanañca. Ayampi dhammo sakkatvā garukatvā mānetvā pūjetvā yāvajīvaṃ anatikkamanīyo.
9比丘尼在雨季安居结束后,必须在两部僧团中以三种方式自恣:基于所见的、所听的、或所疑的。这条法应该被尊重、被看重、被恭敬、被供奉,终此一生都不得违越。
‘‘Vassaṃvuṭṭhāya bhikkhuniyā ubhatosaṅghe tīhi ṭhānehi pavāretabbaṃ – diṭṭhena vā, sutena vā, parisaṅkāya vā. Ayampi dhammo sakkatvā garukatvā mānetvā pūjetvā yāvajīvaṃ anatikkamanīyo.
10犯了重法的比丘尼,必须在两部僧团中行半个月的别住。这条法应该被尊重、被看重、被恭敬、被供奉,终此一生都不得违越。
‘‘Garudhammaṃ ajjhāpannāya bhikkhuniyā ubhatosaṅghe pakkhamānattaṃ caritabbaṃ. Ayampi dhammo sakkatvā garukatvā mānetvā pūjetvā yāvajīvaṃ anatikkamanīyo.
11身为已学了两整年六法的在学者,她应该向两部僧团求受具足戒。这条法应该被尊重、被看重、被恭敬、被供奉,终此一生都不得违越。
‘‘Dve vassāni chasu dhammesu sikkhitasikkhāya sikkhamānāya ubhatosaṅghe upasampadā pariyesitabbā. Ayampi dhammo sakkatvā garukatvā mānetvā pūjetvā yāvajīvaṃ anatikkamanīyo.
12比丘尼不可以任何借口辱骂或责骂比丘。这条法应该被尊重、被看重、被恭敬、被供奉,终此一生都不得违越。
‘‘Na bhikkhuniyā kenaci pariyāyena bhikkhu akkositabbo paribhāsitabbo. Ayampi dhammo sakkatvā garukatvā mānetvā pūjetvā yāvajīvaṃ anatikkamanīyo.
13从今天起,禁止比丘尼们教导比丘们的门路,但不禁止比丘们教导比丘尼们的门路。这条法应该被尊重、被看重、被恭敬、被供奉,终此一生都不得违越。
‘‘Ajjatagge ovaṭo bhikkhunīnaṃ bhikkhūsu vacanapatho, anovaṭo bhikkhūnaṃ bhikkhunīsu vacanapatho. Ayampi dhammo sakkatvā garukatvā mānetvā pūjetvā yāvajīvaṃ anatikkamanīyo.
14“阿难,如果摩诃巴阇波提果德弥接受这八条重法,那就是她的具足戒了。”
‘‘Sace, ānanda, mahāpajāpati gotamī ime aṭṭha garudhamme paṭiggaṇhāti, sāvassā hotu upasampadā’’ti.
15那时,阿难尊者从世尊跟前领受了这八条重法后,就去到摩诃巴阇波提果德弥那里。到了之后,对摩诃巴阇波提果德弥这么说:“果德弥,如果你接受这八条重法,那就算是你受了具足戒。”
Atha kho āyasmā ānando bhagavato santike aṭṭha garudhamme uggahetvā yena mahāpajāpati gotamī tenupasaṅkami, upasaṅkamitvā mahāpajāpatiṃ gotamiṃ etadavoca – ‘‘sace kho tvaṃ, gotami, aṭṭha garudhamme paṭiggaṇheyyāsi, sāva te bhavissati upasampadā.
16即使是一位受了具足戒一百年的比丘尼,也必须对一位当天才受具足戒的比丘行顶礼、起迎、合掌恭敬、以及履行种种尽责的行为。这条法应该被尊重、被看重、被恭敬、被供奉,终此一生都不得违越。
‘‘Vassasatūpasampannāya bhikkhuniyā tadahupasampannassa bhikkhuno abhivādanaṃ paccuṭṭhānaṃ añjalikammaṃ sāmīcikammaṃ kātabbaṃ. Ayampi dhammo sakkatvā garukatvā mānetvā pūjetvā yāvajīvaṃ anatikkamanīyo.
17“比丘尼不得在没有比丘的住处结夏安居。这条法也必须恭敬、尊重、推崇、礼敬,终生不得违越。”
‘‘Na bhikkhuniyā abhikkhuke āvāse vassaṃ vasitabbaṃ. Ayampi dhammo sakkatvā garukatvā mānetvā pūjetvā yāvajīvaṃ anatikkamanīyo.

20“犯了重法的比丘尼,必须在两部僧团中履行半个月的别住。这条法也必须恭敬、尊重、推崇、礼敬,终生不得违越。”
‘‘Garudhammaṃ ajjhāpannāya bhikkhuniyā ubhatosaṅghe pakkhamānattaṃ caritabbaṃ. Ayampi dhammo sakkatvā garukatvā mānetvā pūjetvā yāvajīvaṃ anatikkamanīyo.
21“已用两年时间在六法学处上完成学习的在学女,应当在两部僧团中寻求达上。这条法也必须恭敬、尊重、推崇、礼敬,终生不得违越。”
‘‘Dve vassāni chasu dhammesu sikkhitasikkhāya sikkhamānāya ubhatosaṅghe upasampadā pariyesitabbā. Ayampi dhammo sakkatvā garukatvā mānetvā pūjetvā yāvajīvaṃ anatikkamanīyo.
22“比丘尼不得以任何方式辱骂、斥责比丘。这条法也必须恭敬、尊重、推崇、礼敬,终生不得违越。”
‘‘Na bhikkhuniyā kenaci pariyāyena bhikkhu akkositabbo paribhāsitabbo. Ayampi dhammo sakkatvā garukatvā mānetvā pūjetvā yāvajīvaṃ anatikkamanīyo.
23“从今天起,比丘尼对比丘的说话渠道被禁止了,而比丘对比丘尼的说话渠道不被禁止。这条法也必须恭敬、尊重、推崇、礼敬,终生不得违越。”
‘‘Ajjatagge ovaṭo bhikkhunīnaṃ bhikkhūsu vacanapatho, anovaṭo bhikkhūnaṃ bhikkhunīsu vacanapatho. Ayampi dhammo sakkatvā garukatvā mānetvā pūjetvā yāvajīvaṃ anatikkamanīyo.
24“乔达摩,如果你接受这八条重法,那就是你的达上。”
‘‘Sace kho tvaṃ, gotami, ime aṭṭha garudhamme paṭiggaṇheyyāsi, sāva te bhavissati upasampadā’’ti.
25“阿难尊者,就像一个女人或男人,年轻、充满青春活力、喜欢打扮,刚刚洗过头,得到了一顶青莲花环、茉莉花环或夜来香花环,用双手接过来,戴在头顶最高的位置。正是如此,阿难尊者,我接受这八条必须终其一生不得逾越的重法。”
‘‘Seyyathāpi, bhante ānanda, itthī vā puriso vā daharo, yuvā, maṇḍanakajātiko sīsaṃnahāto uppalamālaṃ vā vassikamālaṃ vā atimuttakamālaṃ vā labhitvā ubhohi hatthehi paṭiggahetvā uttamaṅge sirasmiṃ patiṭṭhāpeyya; evameva kho ahaṃ, bhante, ānanda ime aṭṭha garudhamme paṭiggaṇhāmi yāvajīvaṃ anatikkamanīye’’ti.
26于是,阿难尊者前往世尊那里。到了之后,礼敬世尊,坐在一边。在一边坐下的阿难尊者对世尊这么说:“世尊,大爱道果德弥已经接受了八重法,世尊的姨母已经获得了具足戒。”
Atha kho āyasmā ānando yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkami, upasaṅkamitvā bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ nisīdi. Ekamantaṃ nisinno kho āyasmā ānando bhagavantaṃ etadavoca – ‘‘paṭiggahitā, bhante, mahāpajāpatiyā gotamiyā aṭṭha garudhammā, upasampannā bhagavato mātucchā’’ti.
27“阿难,如果女人没有在如来所宣说的法与律中,得到从在家生活到无家生活的出家机会,阿难,那么梵行将会住立长久,正法将会住立一千年。然而,阿难,正是因为女人在如来所宣说的法与律中,得到了从在家生活到无家生活的出家机会,阿难,现在梵行就不会住立长久了。阿难,现在正法将只会住立五百年。”
‘‘Sace, ānanda, nālabhissa mātugāmo tathāgatappavedite dhammavinaye agārasmā anagāriyaṃ pabbajjaṃ, ciraṭṭhitikaṃ, ānanda, brahmacariyaṃ abhavissa, vassasahassaṃ saddhammo tiṭṭheyya. Yato ca kho, ānanda, mātugāmo tathāgatappavedite dhammavinaye agārasmā anagāriyaṃ pabbajito, na dāni, ānanda, brahmacariyaṃ ciraṭṭhitikaṃ bhavissati. Pañceva dāni, ānanda, vassasatāni saddhammo ṭhassati.
28“阿难,正如那些女人多、男人少的家族,很容易被盗贼、偷窃者所侵害;同样,阿难,在任何一个法与律中,如果女人得到了从在家生活到无家生活的出家机会,那个梵行就不会住立长久。”
‘‘Seyyathāpi, ānanda, yāni kānici kulāni bahutthikāni appapurisakāni, tāni suppadhaṃsiyāni honti corehi kumbhathenakehi; evameva kho, ānanda, yasmiṃ dhammavinaye labhati mātugāmo agārasmā anagāriyaṃ pabbajjaṃ, na taṃ brahmacariyaṃ ciraṭṭhitikaṃ hoti.
29“阿难,正如在长势良好的稻田里,一种叫做白穗病的病害降临时,那个稻田就不会长久了;同样,阿难,在任何一个法与律中,如果女人得到了从在家生活到无家生活的出家机会,那个梵行就不会住立长久。”
‘‘Seyyathāpi , ānanda, sampanne sālikkhette setaṭṭikā nāma rogajāti nipatati, evaṃ taṃ sālikkhettaṃ na ciraṭṭhitikaṃ hoti; evameva kho, ānanda, yasmiṃ dhammavinaye labhati mātugāmo agārasmā anagāriyaṃ pabbajjaṃ, na taṃ brahmacariyaṃ ciraṭṭhitikaṃ hoti.
30“阿难,正如在长势良好的甘蔗田里,一种叫做红腐病的病害降临时,那个甘蔗田就不会长久了;同样,阿难,在任何一个法与律中,如果女人得到了从在家生活到无家生活的出家机会,那个梵行就不会住立长久。”
‘‘Seyyathāpi, ānanda, sampanne ucchukkhette mañjiṭṭhikā nāma rogajāti nipatati, evaṃ taṃ ucchukkhettaṃ na ciraṭṭhitikaṃ hoti; evameva kho, ānanda, yasmiṃ dhammavinaye labhati mātugāmo agārasmā anagāriyaṃ pabbajjaṃ, na taṃ brahmacariyaṃ ciraṭṭhitikaṃ hoti.
31“阿难,就像一个人为了不让大水塘的水漫溢出来,会提前筑好堤坝;同样,阿难,我也正是为了这个目的,提前为比丘尼们制定了八条终其一生不得逾越的重法。”
‘‘Seyyathāpi, ānanda, puriso mahato taḷākassa paṭikacceva āḷiṃ bandheyya yāvadeva udakassa anatikkamanāya; evameva kho, ānanda, mayā paṭikacceva bhikkhunīnaṃ aṭṭha garudhammā paññattā yāvajīvaṃ anatikkamanīyā’’ti.

36允许比丘尼达上
Bhikkhunīupasampadānujānanaṃ
404于是,大爱道果德弥前往世尊那里。到了之后,礼敬世尊,站在一边。在一边站着的大爱道果德弥对世尊这么说:“世尊,对于这些释迦族的妇女,我该如何对待她们呢?”接着,世尊以法义的开示教导、劝励、鼓舞、令大爱道果德弥喜悦。当时,被世尊以法义的开示教导、劝励、鼓舞、令喜悦后,大爱道果德弥礼敬世尊,右绕之后离开了。随后,世尊借着这个因缘、这个事件,作了一番法义的开示后,对比丘们说:“比丘们,我允准由比丘们来授予比丘尼具足戒。”
Atha kho mahāpajāpati gotamī yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkami, upasaṅkamitvā bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ aṭṭhāsi. Ekamantaṃ ṭhitā kho mahāpajāpatī gotamī bhagavantaṃ etadavoca – ‘‘kathāhaṃ, bhante, imāsu sākiyānīsu paṭipajjāmī’’ti? Atha kho bhagavā mahāpajāpatiṃ gotamiṃ dhammiyā kathāya sandassesi samādapesi samuttejesi sampahaṃsesi. Atha kho mahāpajāpati gotamī bhagavatā dhammiyā kathāya sandassitā samādapitā samuttejitā sampahaṃsitā bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā padakkhiṇaṃ katvā pakkāmi. Atha kho bhagavā etasmiṃ nidāne etasmiṃ pakaraṇe dhammiṃ kathaṃ katvā bhikkhū āmantesi – ‘‘anujānāmi, bhikkhave, bhikkhūhi bhikkhuniyo upasampādetu’’nti.
33于是,那些比丘尼对大爱道这样说:“圣尼您还没有达上,而我们都已经达上了;因为世尊是这样规定的——比丘尼要由比丘来授与达上。” 于是,大爱道就去到了具寿阿难那里。到了之后,向具寿阿难顶礼,站在一旁。站在一旁的大爱道对具寿阿难这样说:“阿难尊者,这些比丘尼对我这样说:‘圣尼您还没有达上,而我们都已经达上了;因为世尊是这样规定的——比丘尼要由比丘来授与达上。’”
Atha kho tā bhikkhuniyo mahāpajāpatiṃ gotamiṃ etadavocuṃ – ‘‘ayyā anupasampannā, mayañcamhā upasampannā; evañhi bhagavatā paññattaṃ bhikkhūhi bhikkhuniyo upasampādetabbā’’ti. Atha kho mahāpajāpati gotamī yenāyasmā ānando tenupasaṅkami, upasaṅkamitvā āyasmantaṃ ānandaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ aṭṭhāsi. Ekamantaṃ ṭhitā kho mahāpajāpati gotamī āyasmantaṃ ānandaṃ etadavoca – ‘‘imā maṃ, bhante ānanda, bhikkhuniyo evamāhaṃsu – ‘ayyā anupasampannā, mayañcamhā upasampannā; evañhi bhagavatā paññattaṃ bhikkhūhi bhikkhuniyo upasampādetabbā’’’ti.
34于是,具寿阿难就去到了世尊那里。到了之后,向世尊顶礼,坐在一旁。坐在一旁的具寿阿难对世尊这样说:“尊者,大爱道这样说:‘阿难尊者,这些比丘尼对我这样说:圣尼您还没有达上,而我们都已经达上了;因为世尊是这样规定的——比丘尼要由比丘来授与达上。’”
Atha kho āyasmā ānando yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkami, upasaṅkamitvā bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ nisīdi. Ekamantaṃ nisinno kho āyasmā ānando bhagavantaṃ etadavoca – ‘‘mahāpajāpati, bhante, gotamī evamāha – ‘imā maṃ, bhante ānanda, bhikkhuniyo evamāhaṃsu – ayyā anupasampannā, mayañcamhā upasampannā; evañhi bhagavatā paññattaṃ bhikkhūhi bhikkhuniyo upasampādetabbā’’’ti.
35“阿难,从大爱道接受八重法的那一刻起,她就已经达上了。”
‘‘Yadaggena, ānanda, mahāpajāpatiyā gotamiyā aṭṭha garudhammā paṭiggahitā, tadeva sā upasampannā’’ti.
405于是,大爱道就去到了具寿阿难那里。到了之后,向具寿阿难顶礼,站在一旁。站在一旁的大爱道对具寿阿难这样说:“阿难尊者,我想向世尊请求一个恩惠。尊者,如果世尊能够允许比丘和比丘尼之间按照戒腊高低,相互顶礼、起身迎接、合掌、恭敬承事,那就太好了。”
Atha kho mahāpajāpati gotamī yenāyasmā ānando tenupasaṅkami, upasaṅkamitvā āyasmantaṃ ānandaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ aṭṭhāsi. Ekamantaṃ ṭhitā kho mahāpajāpati gotamī āyasmantaṃ ānandaṃ etadavoca – ‘‘ekāhaṃ, bhante ānanda, bhagavantaṃ varaṃ yācāmi. Sādhu, bhante, bhagavā anujāneyya bhikkhūnañca bhikkhunīnañca yathāvuḍḍhaṃ abhivādanaṃ paccuṭṭhānaṃ añjalikammaṃ sāmīcikamma’’nti.
37于是,具寿阿难就去到了世尊那里。到了之后,向世尊顶礼,坐在一旁。坐在一旁的具寿阿难对世尊这样说:“尊者,大爱道这样说:‘阿难尊者,我想向世尊请求一个恩惠。尊者,如果世尊能够允许比丘和比丘尼之间按照戒腊高低,相互顶礼、起身迎接、合掌、恭敬承事,那就太好了。’”
Atha kho āyasmā ānando yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkami, upasaṅkamitvā bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ nisīdi. Ekamantaṃ nisinno kho āyasmā ānando bhagavantaṃ etadavoca – ‘‘mahāpajāpati, bhante, gotamī evamāha – ‘ekāhaṃ, bhante ānanda, bhagavantaṃ varaṃ yācāmi. Sādhu, bhante, bhagavā anujāneyya bhikkhūnañca bhikkhunīnañca yathāvuḍḍhaṃ abhivādanaṃ paccuṭṭhānaṃ añjalikammaṃ sāmīcikamma’’’nti.
38“阿难,这是不可能的,没有这个道理的,如来不可能允许向女性顶礼、起身迎接、合掌、恭敬承事。阿难,就连那些教法讲得很差的外道,尚且不会向女性顶礼、起身迎接、合掌、恭敬承事,更何况如来,怎么会允许向女性顶礼、起身迎接、合掌、恭敬承事呢?”
‘‘Aṭṭhānametaṃ, ānanda, anavakāso , yaṃ tathāgato anujāneyya mātugāmassa abhivādanaṃ paccuṭṭhānaṃ añjalikammaṃ sāmīcikammaṃ. Imehi nāma, ānanda, aññatitthiyā durakkhātadhammā mātugāmassa abhivādanaṃ paccuṭṭhānaṃ añjalikammaṃ sāmīcikammaṃ na karissanti ; kimaṅgaṃ pana tathāgato anujānissati mātugāmassa abhivādanaṃ paccuṭṭhānaṃ añjalikammaṃ sāmīcikamma’’nti?
39于是,世尊以这件事为因缘、为理由,作了佛法上的开示后,对比丘们说:“比丘们,不可以向女性顶礼、起身迎接、合掌、恭敬承事。如果谁这样做了,就犯恶作。”
Atha kho bhagavā etasmiṃ nidāne etasmiṃ pakaraṇe dhammiṃ kathaṃ katvā bhikkhū āmantesi – ‘‘na, bhikkhave, mātugāmassa abhivādanaṃ paccuṭṭhānaṃ añjalikammaṃ sāmīcikammaṃ kātabbaṃ. Yo kareyya, āpatti dukkaṭassā’’ti.
40于是,大爱道就去到了世尊那里。到了之后,向世尊顶礼,站在一旁。站在一旁的大爱道对世尊这样说:“尊者,对于那些比丘尼与比丘共通的学处,我们应该如何遵行这些学处呢?”“大爱道,对于那些比丘尼与比丘共通的学处,你们就如同比丘们所学的那样,在这些学处上学习。”“尊者,那么对于那些比丘尼与比丘不共通的学处,我们又应该如何遵行这些学处呢?”“大爱道,对于那些比丘尼与比丘不共通的学处,你们就按照已经制定的那些学处来学习。”
Atha kho mahāpajāpati gotamī yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkami, upasaṅkamitvā bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ aṭṭhāsi. Ekamantaṃ ṭhitā kho mahāpajāpati gotamī bhagavantaṃ etadavoca – ‘‘yāni tāni, bhante, bhikkhunīnaṃ sikkhāpadāni bhikkhūhi sādhāraṇāni, kathaṃ mayaṃ, bhante, tesu sikkhāpadesu paṭipajjāmā’’ti? ‘‘Yāni tāni, gotami, bhikkhunīnaṃ sikkhāpadāni bhikkhūhi sādhāraṇāni, yathā bhikkhū sikkhanti tathā tesu sikkhāpadesu sikkhathā’’ti. ‘‘Yāni pana tāni, bhante, bhikkhunīnaṃ sikkhāpadāni bhikkhūhi asādhāraṇāni, kathaṃ mayaṃ, bhante, tesu sikkhāpadesu paṭipajjāmā’’ti? ‘‘Yāni tāni, gotami, bhikkhunīnaṃ sikkhāpadāni bhikkhūhi asādhāraṇāni, yathāpaññattesu sikkhāpadesu sikkhathā’’ti.
406那时,大爱道来到世尊那里。到了之后,向世尊礼敬,然后站在一旁。站在一旁的大爱道对世尊这样说:"萨度!尊者,请世尊为我简略地开示法义,我听了世尊的法之后,可以独自隐居,不放逸、精勤、自我鞭策地生活。"世尊说:"乔达摩,如果你知道某些法——这些法导向贪染,而不是离染;导向束缚,而不是解缚;导向积集,而不是减损;导向多欲,而不是少欲;导向不知足,而不是知足;导向群居,而不是独处;导向懈怠,而不是精进;导向难以养活,而不是易于养活——乔达摩,你应当断然地认定:这不是法,这不是律,这不是导师的教导。而乔达摩,如果你知道某些法——这些法导向离染,而不是贪染;导向解缚,而不是束缚;导向减损,而不是积集;导向少欲,而不是多欲;导向知足,而不是不知足;导向独处,而不是群居;导向精进,而不是懈怠;导向易于养活,而不是难以养活——乔达摩,你应当断然地认定:这是法,这是律,这是导师的教导。"

Ekamantaṃ ṭhitā kho mahāpajāpati gotamī bhagavantaṃ etadavoca – ‘‘sādhu me, bhante, bhagavā saṃkhittena dhammaṃ desetu, yamahaṃ bhagavato dhammaṃ sutvā ekā vūpakaṭṭhā appamattā ātāpinī pahitattā vihareyya’’nti. ‘‘Ye kho tvaṃ, gotami, dhamme jāneyyāsi – ime dhammā sarāgāya saṃvattanti no virāgāya, saññogāya saṃvattanti no visaññogāya, ācayāya saṃvattanti no apacayāya, mahicchatāya saṃvattanti no appicchatāya, asantuṭṭhiyā saṃvattanti no santuṭṭhiyā, saṅgaṇikāya saṃvattanti no pavivekāya, kosajjāya saṃvattanti no vīriyārambhāya, dubbharatāya saṃvattanti no subharatāya; ekaṃsena, gotami, dhāreyyāsi – neso dhammo, neso vinayo, netaṃ satthusāsananti. Ye ca kho tvaṃ, gotami, dhamme jāneyyāsi – ime dhammā virāgāya saṃvattanti no sarāgāya, visaññogāya saṃvattanti no saññogāya, apacayāya saṃvattanti no ācayāya, appicchatāya saṃvattanti no mahicchatāya, santuṭṭhiyā saṃvattanti no asantuṭṭhiyā, pavivekāya saṃvattanti no saṅgaṇikāya, vīriyārambhāya saṃvattanti no kosajjāya, subharatāya saṃvattanti no dubbharatāya; ekaṃsena, gotami, dhāreyyāsi – eso dhammo, eso vinayo, etaṃ satthusāsana’’nti.
407那时,没有为比丘尼们诵巴蒂摩卡。比丘们将这件事报告给世尊……世尊说:"比丘们,我允许为比丘尼们诵巴蒂摩卡。"接着比丘们心里想:"应该由谁来为比丘尼们诵巴蒂摩卡呢?"比丘们将这件事报告给世尊。世尊说:"比丘们,我允许由比丘来为比丘尼们诵巴蒂摩卡。"
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhunīnaṃ pātimokkhaṃ na uddisīyati. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ…pe… ‘‘anujānāmi, bhikkhave, bhikkhunīnaṃ pātimokkhaṃ uddisitu’’nti. Atha kho bhikkhūnaṃ etadahosi – ‘‘kena nu kho bhikkhunīnaṃ pātimokkhaṃ uddisitabba’’nti? Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, bhikkhūhi bhikkhunīnaṃ pātimokkhaṃ uddisitu’’nti.
43那时,比丘们前往比丘尼的住处,为比丘尼们诵巴蒂摩卡。人们开始讥嫌、批评、指责说:"这些女人是他们的妻子,这些女人是他们的情人,现在他们要和她们一起寻欢作乐了!"比丘们将这件事报告给世尊。世尊说:"比丘们,比丘不应为比丘尼们诵巴蒂摩卡。如果谁诵了,犯恶作。比丘们,我允许由比丘尼自己为比丘尼们诵巴蒂摩卡。"但比丘尼们不知道怎么诵:"应该这样诵巴蒂摩卡。"比丘们将这件事报告给世尊。世尊说:"比丘们,我允许比丘教导比丘尼们:'你们应当这样诵巴蒂摩卡。'"
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhū bhikkhunupassayaṃ upasaṅkamitvā bhikkhunīnaṃ pātimokkhaṃ uddisanti. Manussā ujjhāyanti khiyyanti vipācenti – ‘‘jāyāyo imā imesaṃ, jāriyo imā imesaṃ, idāni ime imāhi saddhiṃ abhiramissantī’’ti! Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, bhikkhūhi bhikkhunīnaṃ pātimokkhaṃ uddisitabbaṃ. Yo uddiseyya, āpatti dukkaṭassa. Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, bhikkhunīhi bhikkhunīnaṃ pātimokkhaṃ uddisitu’’nti. Bhikkhuniyo na jānanti – ‘‘evaṃ pātimokkhaṃ uddisitabba’’nti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, bhikkhūhi bhikkhunīnaṃ ācikkhituṃ – ‘evaṃ pātimokkhaṃ uddiseyyāthā’’’ti.
408那时,比丘尼们不处理犯戒的事。比丘们将这件事报告给世尊。世尊说:"比丘们,比丘尼不能不处理犯戒的事。如果不处理,犯恶作。"但比丘尼们不知道怎么处理:"应该这样处理犯戒的事。"比丘们将这件事报告给世尊。世尊说:"比丘们,我允许比丘教导比丘尼们:'你们应当这样处理犯戒的事。'"接着比丘们心里想:"应该由谁来接受比丘尼的出罪呢?"比丘们将这件事报告给世尊。世尊说:"比丘们,我允许由比丘来接受比丘尼们的出罪。"
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhuniyo āpattiṃ na paṭikaronti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, bhikkhuniyā āpatti na paṭikātabbā. Yā na paṭikareyya, āpatti dukkaṭassā’’ti. Bhikkhuniyo na jānanti – ‘‘evaṃ āpatti paṭikātabbā’’ti . Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, bhikkhūhi bhikkhunīnaṃ ācikkhituṃ – ‘evaṃ āpattiṃ paṭikareyyāthā’’’ti. Atha kho bhikkhūnaṃ etadahosi – ‘‘kena nu kho bhikkhunīnaṃ āpatti paṭiggahetabbā’’ti? Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, bhikkhūhi bhikkhunīnaṃ āpattiṃ paṭiggahetu’’nti.
45那时,比丘尼们在车道、在巷口、在十字路口,只要看见比丘,就把钵放在地上,把上衣偏袒一肩,蹲坐下来,合掌高举,进行出罪。人们开始讥嫌、批评、指责说:"这些女人是他们的妻子,这些女人是他们的情人,夜里闹翻了,现在跑来求原谅了!"比丘们将这件事报告给世尊。世尊说:"比丘们,比丘不应接受比丘尼们的出罪。如果谁接受了,犯恶作。比丘们,我允许由比丘尼自己来接受比丘尼们的出罪。"但比丘尼们不知道怎么接受:"应该这样接受出罪。"比丘们将这件事报告给世尊。世尊说:"比丘们,我允许比丘教导比丘尼们:'你们应当这样接受出罪。'"
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhuniyo rathikāyapi byūhepi siṅghāṭakepi bhikkhuṃ passitvā pattaṃ bhūmiyaṃ nikkhipitvā ekaṃsaṃ uttarāsaṅgaṃ karitvā ukkuṭikaṃ nisīditvā añjaliṃ paggahetvā āpattiṃ paṭikaronti. Manussā ujjhāyanti khiyyanti vipācenti – ‘‘jāyāyo imā imesaṃ, jāriyo imā imesaṃ, rattiṃ vimānetvā idāni khamāpentī’’ti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ . ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, bhikkhūhi bhikkhunīnaṃ āpatti paṭiggahetabbā. Yo paṭiggaṇheyya, āpatti dukkaṭassa. Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, bhikkhunīhi bhikkhunīnaṃ āpattiṃ paṭiggahetu’’nti. Bhikkhuniyo na jānanti – ‘‘evaṃ āpatti paṭiggahetabbā’’ti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, bhikkhūhi bhikkhunīnaṃ ācikkhituṃ – ‘evaṃ āpattiṃ paṭiggaṇheyyāthā’’’ti.
409那时,不为比丘尼们做羯磨。比丘们将这件事报告给世尊。世尊说:"比丘们,我允许为比丘尼们做羯磨。"接着比丘们心里想:"应该由谁来为比丘尼们做羯磨呢?"比丘们将这件事报告给世尊。世尊说:"比丘们,我允许由比丘来为比丘尼们做羯磨。"
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhunīnaṃ kammaṃ na kariyati . Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, bhikkhunīnaṃ kammaṃ kātu’’nti. Atha kho bhikkhūnaṃ etadahosi – ‘‘kena nu kho bhikkhunīnaṃ kammaṃ kātabba’’nti? Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, bhikkhūhi bhikkhunīnaṃ kammaṃ kātu’’nti.
47那时,被做过羯磨的比丘尼们,她们以为“大概应该这样做”,就在车道、在巷口、在十字路口,只要看见比丘,就把钵放在地上,把上衣偏袒一肩,蹲坐下来,合掌高举,请求原谅。人们像前面一样开始讥嫌、批评、指责说:"这些女人是他们的妻子,这些女人是他们的情人,夜里闹翻了,现在跑来求原谅了!"比丘们将这件事报告给世尊。世尊说:"比丘们,比丘不应为比丘尼们做羯磨。如果谁做了,犯恶作。比丘们,我允许由比丘尼自己为比丘尼们做羯磨。"但比丘尼们不知道怎么做:"应该这样做羯磨。"比丘们将这件事报告给世尊。世尊说:"比丘们,我允许比丘教导比丘尼们:'你们应当这样做羯磨。'"
Tena kho pana samayena katakammā bhikkhuniyo rathikāyapi byūhepi siṅghāṭakepi bhikkhuṃ passitvā pattaṃ bhūmiyaṃ nikkhipitvā ekaṃsaṃ uttarāsaṅgaṃ karitvā ukkuṭikaṃ nisīditvā añjaliṃ paggahetvā khamāpenti ‘evaṃ nūna kātabba’nti maññamānā. Manussā tatheva ujjhāyanti khiyyanti vipācenti – ‘‘jāyāyo imā imesaṃ, jāriyo imā imesaṃ, rattiṃ vimānetvā idāni khamāpentī’’ti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, bhikkhūhi bhikkhunīnaṃ kammaṃ kātabbaṃ. Yo kareyya, āpatti dukkaṭassa. Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, bhikkhunīhi bhikkhunīnaṃ kammaṃ kātu’’nti. Bhikkhuniyo na jānanti – ‘‘evaṃ kammaṃ kātabba’’nti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, bhikkhūhi bhikkhunīnaṃ ācikkhituṃ – ‘evaṃ kammaṃ kareyyāthā’’’ti.
410那时,比丘尼们在僧团中起斗诤、起争吵、陷入辩论,用言语的刀锋互相刺击,她们住在一起,却没有能力平息那些诤事。比丘们将这件事报告给世尊。世尊说:"比丘们,我允许由比丘来为比丘尼们平息诤事。"
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhuniyo saṅghamajjhe bhaṇḍanajātā kalahajātā vivādāpannā aññamaññaṃ mukhasattīhi vitudantā viharanti. Na sakkonti taṃ adhikaraṇaṃ vūpasametuṃ. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, bhikkhūhi bhikkhunīnaṃ adhikaraṇaṃ vūpasametu’’nti.
49那时,比丘们替比丘尼们平息纠纷。但在处理那纠纷进行裁决的时候,有些比丘尼被发现是僧团羯磨的当事人,也是犯戒的人。比丘尼们这样说:“尊者,请让圣尼们自己为比丘尼做僧团裁决吧,请圣尼们自己接受比丘尼的犯戒举罪吧。因为世尊曾经这样规定过:比丘尼的纠纷应由比丘们来平息。”她们把这件事禀告了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,我允许这样:由比丘们对比丘尼提起僧团裁决,然后交给比丘尼们;让比丘尼们自己对比丘尼进行僧团裁决。也由比丘们对比丘尼提起犯戒举罪,然后交给比丘尼们;让比丘尼们自己对比丘尼接受犯戒举罪。”
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhū bhikkhunīnaṃ adhikaraṇaṃ vūpasamenti. Tasmiṃ kho pana adhikaraṇe vinicchiyamāne dissanti bhikkhuniyo kammappattāyopi āpattigāminiyopi. Bhikkhuniyo evamāhaṃsu – ‘‘sādhu, bhante, ayyāva bhikkhunīnaṃ kammaṃ karontu, ayyāva bhikkhunīnaṃ āpattiṃ paṭiggaṇhantu; evañhi bhagavatā paññattaṃ bhikkhūhi bhikkhunīnaṃ adhikaraṇaṃ vūpasametabba’’nti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, bhikkhūhi bhikkhunīnaṃ kammaṃ āropetvā bhikkhunīnaṃ niyyādetuṃ – bhikkhunīhi bhikkhunīnaṃ kammaṃ kātuṃ, bhikkhūhi bhikkhunīnaṃ āpattiṃ āropetvā bhikkhunīnaṃ niyyādetuṃ, bhikkhunīhi bhikkhunīnaṃ āpattiṃ paṭiggahetu’’nti.
50那时,莲华色比丘尼的一位随学弟子比丘尼,花了七年时间跟随世尊,学习戒律。但她记性不好,学了又忘,学了又忘。那位比丘尼听说:“世尊似乎要前往沙瓦提城了。”那时,这位比丘尼心里想:“我花了七年时间跟随世尊学习戒律,但我记性不好,学了就忘。而一个女人要一辈子跟着导师,实在是件很难的事。我该怎么办才好呢?”于是,那位比丘尼把这件事告诉了比丘尼们。比丘尼们把这件事告诉了比丘们。比丘们又把这件事禀告了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,我允许由比丘们来教比丘尼们戒律。”
Tena kho pana samayena uppalavaṇṇāya bhikkhuniyā antevāsinī bhikkhunī satta vassāni bhagavantaṃ anubandhā hoti vinayaṃ pariyāpuṇantī. Tassā muṭṭhassatiniyā gahito gahito mussati. Assosi kho sā bhikkhunī – ‘‘bhagavā kira sāvatthiṃ gantukāmo’’ti. Atha kho tassā bhikkhuniyā etadahosi – ‘‘ahaṃ kho satta vassāni bhagavantaṃ anubandhiṃ vinayaṃ pariyāpuṇantī. Tassā me muṭṭhassatiniyā gahito gahito mussati. Dukkaraṃ kho pana mātugāmena yāvajīvaṃ satthāraṃ anubandhituṃ. Kathaṃ nu kho mayā paṭipajjitabba’’nti? Atha kho sā bhikkhunī bhikkhunīnaṃ etamatthaṃ ārocesi. Bhikkhuniyo bhikkhūnaṃ etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. 411那时,世尊在韦沙离随意住了一段时间后,就往沙瓦提城方向游行去了。一路次第游行,最后来到了沙瓦提城。在那里,世尊住在揭德林给孤独园。那时,六群比丘用泥浆水泼比丘尼们,心里想着:“她们说不定就会对我们心生好感。”比丘们把这件事禀告了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,比丘不应该用泥浆水泼比丘尼。如果谁泼了,就犯恶作。比丘们,我允许对那样的比丘做处罚。”那时,比丘们心里想:“应该做什么样的处罚呢?”他们把这件事禀告了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,那位比丘应该被比丘尼僧团作‘不应受礼拜’的处理。”

52那时,六群比丘对比丘尼们暴露身体……对比丘尼们暴露大腿,对比丘尼们暴露私处,挑逗比丘尼们,与比丘尼们调情,心里想着:“她们说不定就会对我们心生好感。”比丘们把这件事禀告了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,比丘不应该对比丘尼们暴露身体,不应该对比丘尼们暴露大腿,不应该对比丘尼们暴露私处,不应该挑逗比丘尼们,不应该与比丘尼们调情。如果谁调情了,就犯恶作。比丘们,我允许对那样的比丘做处罚。”那时,比丘们心里想:“应该做什么样的处罚呢?”他们把这件事禀告了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,那位比丘应该被比丘尼僧团作‘不应受礼拜’的处理。”

Atha kho bhikkhūnaṃ etadahosi – ‘‘kappati nu kho ovādaṭṭhapitāya bhikkhuniyā saddhiṃ uposathaṃ kātuṃ, na nu kho kappatī’’ti? Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, ovādaṭṭhapitāya bhikkhuniyā saddhiṃ uposatho kātabbo, yāva na taṃ adhikaraṇaṃ vūpasantaṃ hotī’’ti.
412那时,具寿乌达夷在撤销了一位比丘尼的教诫资格后,就外出游行去了。比丘尼们不满、批评、指责说:“乌达夷尊者怎么能这样,撤销了教诫资格,自己就外出游行去了呢!”她们把这件事禀告了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,在撤销了教诫资格之后,不应该就外出游行。如果谁出去了,就犯恶作。”
Tena kho pana samayena āyasmā udāyī ovādaṃ ṭhapetvā cārikaṃ pakkāmi. Bhikkhuniyo ujjhāyanti khiyyanti vipācenti – ‘‘kathañhi nāma ayyo udāyī ovādaṃ ṭhapetvā cārikaṃ pakkamissatī’’ti! Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, ovādaṃ ṭhapetvā cārikā pakkamitabbā. Yo pakkameyya, āpatti dukkaṭassā’’ti.
56那时,有些愚笨的、没有能力的比丘尼也去撤销别人的教诫资格。比丘们把这件事禀告了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,教诫资格不应该由一个愚笨的、没有能力的比丘尼来撤销。如果谁撤销了,就犯恶作。”
Tena kho pana samayena bālā abyattā ovādaṃ ṭhapenti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, bālena abyattena ovādo ṭhapetabbo. Yo ṭhapeyya, āpatti dukkaṭassā’’ti.
57那时,有些比丘在没有事由、没有理由的情况下就中止了教导。他们向世尊汇报了这件事。世尊说:“诸比丘,不应在没有事由、没有理由的情况下中止教导。如果谁中止了,犯恶作罪。”
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhū avatthusmiṃ akāraṇe ovādaṃ ṭhapenti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, avatthusmiṃ akāraṇe ovādo ṭhapetabbo. Yo ṭhapeyya, āpatti dukkaṭassā’’ti.
58那时,有些比丘中止了教导后,就不给比丘尼们作裁决。他们向世尊汇报了这件事。世尊说:“诸比丘,中止了教导之后,不能不给他们作裁决。如果谁不给作裁决,犯恶作罪。”
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhū ovādaṃ ṭhapetvā vinicchayaṃ na denti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, ovādaṃ ṭhapetvā vinicchayo na dātabbo. Yo na dadeyya, āpatti dukkaṭassā’’ti.
413那时,有些比丘尼不去接受教导。他们向世尊汇报了这件事。世尊说:“诸比丘,比丘尼不应不去接受教导。如果哪个比丘尼不去,应该按照法规处理。”
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhuniyo ovādaṃ na gacchanti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, bhikkhuniyā ovādo na gantabbo. Yā na gaccheyya, yathādhammo kāretabbo’’ti.
60那时,整个比丘尼僧团都去接受教导。人们开始讥嫌、责难、到处议论说:“这些女人是他们的老婆,这些女人是他们的情人。现在他们可以跟这些女人一起寻欢作乐了!”他们向世尊汇报了这件事。世尊说:“诸比丘,整个比丘尼僧团不应都去接受教导。如果去了,犯恶作罪。诸比丘,我允许由四位或五位比丘尼去接受教导。”
Tena kho pana samayena sabbo bhikkhunisaṅgho ovādaṃ gacchati. Manussā ujjhāyanti khiyyanti vipācenti – ‘‘jāyāyo imā imesaṃ, jāriyo imā imesaṃ, idāni ime imāhi saddhiṃ abhiramissantī’’ti! Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, sabbena bhikkhunisaṅghena ovādo gantabbo. Gaccheyya ce, āpatti dukkaṭassa. Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, catūhi pañcahi bhikkhunīhi ovādaṃ gantu’’nti.
61那时,有四位或五位比丘尼去接受教导。人们照样讥嫌、责难、到处议论说:“这些女人是他们的老婆,这些女人是他们的情人。现在他们可以跟这些女人一起寻欢作乐了!”他们向世尊汇报了这件事。世尊说:“诸比丘,不应由四位或五位比丘尼去接受教导。如果去了,犯恶作罪。诸比丘,我允许由两位或三位比丘尼去接受教导。走到一位比丘跟前,将上衣搭在一肩,顶礼双足,然后蹲坐下来,合掌恭敬,应当这样对他说:‘尊者,比丘尼僧团顶礼比丘僧团之足,并请求接受教导。尊者,愿比丘尼僧团获得接受教导的机会。’那位比丘应该走到诵戒师跟前,这样对他说:‘大德,比丘尼僧团顶礼比丘僧团之足,并请求接受教导。大德,愿比丘尼僧团获得接受教导的机会。’诵戒师应问:‘有没有哪位比丘被选任为比丘尼教导师?’如果有哪位比丘被选任为比丘尼教导师,诵戒师应说:‘某甲比丘被选任为比丘尼教导师,让比丘尼僧团去他那里接受教导。’如果没有哪位比丘被选任为比丘尼教导师,诵戒师应问:‘哪位尊者愿意教导比丘尼?’如果有人愿意教导比丘尼,并且他具备八项条件,就应当选任他,然后说:‘某甲比丘被选任为比丘尼教导师,让比丘尼僧团去他那里接受教导。’如果没有任何人愿意教导比丘尼,诵戒师应说:‘没有任何比丘被选任为比丘尼教导师,比丘尼僧团应以令人信服的方式自行成就。’”
Tena kho pana samayena catasso pañca bhikkhuniyo ovādaṃ gacchanti. Manussā tatheva ujjhāyanti khiyyanti vipācenti – ‘‘jāyāyo imā imesaṃ, jāriyo imā imesaṃ, idāni ime imāhi saddhiṃ abhiramissantī’’ti! Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, catūhi pañcahi bhikkhunīhi ovādo gantabbo. Gaccheyyuṃ ce, āpatti dukkaṭassa. Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, dve tisso bhikkhuniyo ovādaṃ gantuṃ. Ekaṃ bhikkhuṃ upasaṅkamitvā ekaṃsaṃ uttarāsaṅgaṃ karitvā pāde vanditvā ukkuṭikaṃ nisīditvā añjaliṃ paggahetvā evamassa vacanīyo – ‘bhikkhunisaṅgho, ayya, bhikkhusaṅghassa pāde vandati, ovādūpasaṅkamanañca yācati; labhatu kira, ayya, bhikkhunisaṅgho ovādūpasaṅkamana’nti. Tena bhikkhunā pātimokkhuddesako upasaṅkamitvā evamassa vacanīyo – ‘bhikkhunīsaṅgho, bhante, bhikkhusaṅghassa pāde vandati, ovādūpasaṅkamanañca yācati; labhatu kira, bhante, bhikkhunisaṅgho ovādūpasaṅkamana’nti. Pātimokkhuddesakena vattabbo – ‘atthi koci bhikkhu bhikkhunovādako sammato’ti? Sace hoti koci bhikkhu bhikkhunovādako sammato, pātimokkhuddesakena vattabbo – ‘itthannāmo bhikkhu bhikkhunovādako sammato, taṃ bhikkhunisaṅgho upasaṅkamatū’ti. Sace na hoti koci bhikkhu bhikkhunovādako sammato, pātimokkhuddesakena vattabbo – ‘ko āyasmā ussahati bhikkhuniyo ovaditu’nti? Sace koci ussahati bhikkhuniyo ovadituṃ, so ca hoti aṭṭhahaṅgehi samannāgato, sammannitvā vattabbo – ‘itthannāmo bhikkhu bhikkhunovādako sammato, taṃ bhikkhunisaṅgho upasaṅkamatū’ti. Sace na koci ussahati bhikkhuniyo ovadituṃ, pātimokkhuddesakena vattabbo – ‘natthi koci bhikkhu bhikkhunovādako sammato, pāsādikena bhikkhunisaṅgho sampādetū’’ti.
414那时,有些比丘不接受教导比丘尼的职责。他们向世尊汇报了这件事。世尊说:“诸比丘,不应不接受教导比丘尼的职责。如果谁不接受,犯恶作罪。”
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhū ovādaṃ na gaṇhanti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, ovādo na gahetabbo. Yo na gaṇheyya, āpatti dukkaṭassā’’ti.
63那时,有位比丘是个愚笨之人。比丘尼们走到他跟前,对他说:“尊者,请接受教导职责吧。”他说:“姐妹们,我是个愚笨的人,我怎么接受教导职责呢?”比丘尼们说:“尊者,请接受教导职责吧。因为世尊就是这样规定的:‘除了愚笨之人,其余的比丘都应接受教导比丘尼的职责。’”他们向世尊汇报了这件事。世尊说:“诸比丘,我允许除了愚笨之人外,其余的人可以接受教导职责。”
Tena kho pana samayena aññataro bhikkhu bālo hoti. Taṃ bhikkhuniyo upasaṅkamitvā etadavocuṃ – ‘‘ovādaṃ, ayya, gaṇhāhī’’ti . ‘‘Ahañhi, bhaginī, bālo; kathāhaṃ ovādaṃ gaṇhāmī’’ti? ‘‘Gaṇhāhayya , ovādaṃ; evañhi bhagavatā paññattaṃ – bhikkhūhi bhikkhunīnaṃ ovādo gahetabbo’’ti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, ṭhapetvā bālaṃ, avasesehi ovādaṃ gahetu’’nti.
64那时,有位比丘生病了。比丘尼们走到他跟前,对他说:“尊者,请接受教导职责吧。”他说:“姐妹们,我生病了,我怎么接受教导职责呢?”比丘尼们说:“尊者,请接受教导职责吧。因为世尊就是这样规定的:‘除了愚笨之人,其余的人都应该接受教导比丘尼的职责。’”他们向世尊汇报了这件事。世尊说:“诸比丘,我允许除了愚笨之人、除了生病的人,其余的人可以接受教导职责。”

Taṃ bhikkhuniyo upasaṅkamitvā etadavocuṃ – ‘‘ovādaṃ, ayya gaṇhāhī’’ti. ‘‘Ahañhi, bhaginī, gilāno; kathāhaṃ ovādaṃ gaṇhāmī’’ti? ‘‘Gaṇhāhayya, ovādaṃ; evañhi bhagavatā paññattaṃ – ṭhapetvā bālaṃ, avasesehi ovādo gahetabbo’’ti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, ṭhapetvā bālaṃ, ṭhapetvā gilānaṃ, avasesehi ovādaṃ gahetu’’nti.
65那时,有一位比丘要出门远行。比丘尼们去到他那里,对他说:“尊者,请您接受教诫的职责吧。”他回答说:“姐妹们,我要出门远行,怎么能接受教诫的职责呢?”比丘尼们说:“尊者,请您就接受教诫的职责吧。因为世尊是这样规定的:除了愚痴的人,除了生病的人,其余的人都应当接受教诫的职责。”比丘们把这件事报告给了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,我允许,除了愚痴的人,除了生病的人,除了要出门远行的人,其余的人都应当接受教诫的职责。”

Taṃ bhikkhuniyo upasaṅkamitvā etadavocuṃ – ‘‘ovādaṃ, ayya, gaṇhāhī’’ti. ‘‘Ahañhi, bhaginī, gamiko; kathāhaṃ ovādaṃ gaṇhāmī’’ti? ‘‘Gaṇhāhayya, ovādaṃ; evañhi bhagavatā paññattaṃ – ṭhapetvā bālaṃ, ṭhapetvā gilānaṃ, avasesehi ovādo gahetabbo’’ti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, ṭhapetvā bālaṃ, ṭhapetvā gilānaṃ, ṭhapetvā gamikaṃ, avasesehi ovādaṃ gahetu’’nti.
66那时,有一位比丘住在林野。比丘尼们去到他那里,对他说:“尊者,请您接受教诫的职责吧。”他回答说:“姐妹们,我住在林野,怎么能接受教诫的职责呢?”比丘尼们说:“尊者,请您就接受教诫的职责吧。因为世尊是这样规定的:除了愚痴的人,除了生病的人,除了要出门远行的人,其余的人都应当接受教诫的职责。”比丘们把这件事报告给了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,我允许住在林野的比丘接受教诫的职责,并且可以约定一个地点,说‘我会到这里来履行’。”
Tena kho pana samayena aññataro bhikkhu araññe viharati. Taṃ bhikkhuniyo upasaṅkamitvā etadavocuṃ – ‘‘ovādaṃ, ayya, gaṇhāhī’’ti. ‘‘Ahañhi, bhaginī, araññe viharāmi; kathāhaṃ ovādaṃ gaṇhāmī’’ti? ‘‘Gaṇhāhayya , ovādaṃ; evañhi bhagavatā paññattaṃ – ṭhapetvā bālaṃ, ṭhapetvā gilānaṃ, ṭhapetvā gamikaṃ, avasesehi ovādo gahetabbo’’ti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, āraññikena bhikkhunā ovādaṃ gahetuṃ, saṅketañca kātuṃ – atra patiharissāmī’’ti.
415那时,比丘们接受了教诫的职责后,却不向比丘尼们报告。比丘们把这件事报告给了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,接受了教诫的职责后,不可以不报告。如果不报告,就犯恶作罪。”
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhū ovādaṃ gahetvā na ārocenti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, ovādo na ārocetabbo. Yo na āroceyya, āpatti dukkaṭassā’’ti.
68那时,比丘们接受了教诫的职责后,却不进行教诫回馈。比丘们把这件事报告给了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,接受了教诫的职责后,不可以不进行教诫回馈。如果不回馈,就犯恶作罪。”
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhū ovādaṃ gahetvā na paccāharanti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, ovādo na paccāharitabbo. Yo na paccāhareyya, āpatti dukkaṭassā’’ti.
69那时,比丘尼们不去约定的地点。比丘们把这件事报告给了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,比丘尼不可以不去约定的地点。如果不去,就犯恶作罪。”
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhuniyo saṅketaṃ na gacchanti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, bhikkhuniyā saṅketaṃ na gantabbaṃ. Yā na gaccheyya, āpatti dukkaṭassā’’ti.
416那时,比丘尼们系着长长的腰带,并用它们来勒出身体两侧的曲线。人们讥嫌、批评、非议说:“就跟在家的、享受感官欲乐的女人一样。”比丘们把这件事报告给了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,比丘尼不可以系长长的腰带。如果系了,就犯恶作罪。比丘们,我允许比丘尼用腰带绕一圈系好,但不可以用来勒出身体两侧的曲线。如果用来勒出曲线,就犯恶作罪。”

Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, bhikkhuniyā ekapariyākataṃ kāyabandhanaṃ, na ca tena phāsukā nāmetabbā. Yā nāmeyya, āpatti dukkaṭassā’’ti.
71那时,比丘尼们用藤条带勒出身体两侧的曲线……用皮条带勒出身体两侧的曲线。用布条带勒出身体两侧的曲线。用布编成的绳勒出身体两侧的曲线。用布捻成的索勒出身体两侧的曲线。用粗布条勒出身体两侧的曲线。用粗布编的绳勒出身体两侧的曲线。用粗布捻的索勒出身体两侧的曲线。用线编的绳勒出身体两侧的曲线。用线捻的索勒出身体两侧的曲线。人们讥嫌、批评、非议说:“就跟在家的、享受感官欲乐的女人一样。”比丘们把这件事报告给了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,比丘尼不可以用藤条带勒出身体两侧的曲线……不可以用线捻的索勒出身体两侧的曲线。如果用来勒出曲线,就犯恶作罪。”

72那时,比丘尼们让人用圆柱形的骨头按摩臀部……让人用牛下颌骨敲打臀部,敲打手,敲打手背,敲打脚,敲打脚背,敲打大腿,敲打脸,敲打牙龈。人们讥嫌、批评、非议说:“就跟在家的、享受感官欲乐的女人一样。”比丘们把这件事报告给了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,比丘尼不可以让人用圆柱形的骨头按摩臀部……不可以让人敲打牙龈。如果让人敲打,就犯恶作罪。”

Manussā ujjhāyanti khiyyanti vipācenti…pe… seyyathāpi gihinī kāmabhoginiyoti. 417那时,六群比丘尼在脸上涂抹油膏……在脸上按摩,在脸上涂粉,用天然颜料涂抹脸部,做身体妆容,做脸部妆容,做身体与脸部的妆容。人们批评、指责、非议道:'简直就像在家人、享受感官欲乐的女人一样!' 他们把这件事报告给世尊。世尊说:'比丘们,比丘尼不应该在脸上涂抹油膏……不应该在脸上按摩,不应该在脸上涂粉,不应该用天然颜料涂抹脸部,不应该做身体妆容,不应该做脸部妆容,不应该做身体与脸部的妆容。任何比丘尼这么做,犯恶作罪。'

Yā kareyya, āpatti dukkaṭassā’’ti.
74那时,六群比丘尼做肢体整形……做特殊整容,用观望的方式去看,在有亮光的地方站立;让人表演舞蹈,让妓女出来工作,开设酒铺,开设肉铺,开店营业,放贷取息,从事贸易,雇养男佣,雇养女仆,雇养男工,雇养女工,畜养畜生,抛撒诃子枝叶,穿着华美的外衣。人们批评、指责、非议道:'简直就像在家人、享受感官欲乐的女人一样!' 他们把这件事报告给世尊。世尊说:'比丘们,比丘尼不应该做肢体整形……不应该做特殊整容,不应该用观望的方式去看,不应该在有亮光的地方站立,不应该让人表演舞蹈,不应该让妓女出来工作,不应该开设酒铺,不应该开设肉铺,不应该开店营业,不应该放贷取息,不应该从事贸易,不应该雇养男佣,不应该雇养女仆,不应该雇养男工,不应该雇养女工,不应该畜养畜生,不应该抛撒诃子枝叶,不应该穿着华美的外衣。任何比丘尼穿着,犯恶作罪。'

418那时,六群比丘尼穿着全蓝色的袈裟……穿着全黄色的袈裟,穿着全深红色的袈裟,穿着全深红色的袈裟,穿着全黑色的袈裟,穿着全橘红色的袈裟,穿着全深红色的袈裟,穿着未剪边饰的袈裟,穿着长边饰的袈裟,穿着花朵图案边饰的袈裟,穿着果实图案边饰的袈裟,穿着绣花衣,穿着交织衣。人们批评、指责、非议道:'简直就像在家人、享受感官欲乐的女人一样!' 他们把这件事报告给世尊。世尊说:'比丘们,比丘尼不应该穿着全蓝色的袈裟……不应该穿着交织衣。任何比丘尼穿着,犯恶作罪。'

419那时,某位比丘尼临终时这样说:'我死后,我的资具都归给僧团。' 对此,比丘们和比丘尼们争执道:'应该归我们,应该归我们!' 他们把这件事报告给世尊。世尊说:'比丘们,如果一位比丘尼临终时这样说:“我死后,我的资具都归给僧团”,比丘僧团对此没有所有权,这归比丘尼僧团所有。比丘们,如果一位在学尼……一位沙马内莉临终时这样说:“我死后,我的资具都归给僧团”,比丘僧团对此没有所有权,这归比丘尼僧团所有。比丘们,如果一位比丘临终时这样说:“我死后,我的资具都归给僧团”,比丘尼僧团对此没有所有权,这归比丘僧团所有。比丘们,如果一位沙马内拉……一位在家男居士……一位在家女居士……或者任何其他人临终时这样说:“我死后,我的资具都归给僧团”,比丘尼僧团对此没有所有权,这归比丘僧团所有。'
Tena kho pana samayena aññatarā bhikkhunī kālaṃ karontī evamāha – ‘‘mamaccayena mayhaṃ parikkhāro saṅghassa hotū’’ti. Tattha bhikkhū ca bhikkhuniyo ca vivadanti – ‘‘amhākaṃ hoti, amhākaṃ hotī’’ti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Bhikkhunī ce, bhikkhave , kālaṃ karontī evaṃ vadeyya – ‘mamaccayena mayhaṃ parikkhāro saṅghassa hotū’ti, anissaro tattha bhikkhusaṅgho, bhikkhunisaṅghassevetaṃ. Sikkhamānā ce, bhikkhave…pe… sāmaṇerī ce, bhikkhave, kālaṃ karontī evaṃ vadeyya – ‘mamaccayena mayhaṃ parikkhāro saṅghassa hotū’ti, anissaro tattha bhikkhusaṅgho, bhikkhunisaṅghassevetaṃ. Sāmaṇero ce, bhikkhave…pe… upāsako ce, bhikkhave…pe… upāsikā ce, bhikkhave…pe… añño ce, bhikkhave, koci kālaṃ karonto evaṃ vadeyya – ‘mamaccayena mayhaṃ parikkhāro saṅghassa hotū’ti, anissaro tattha bhikkhunisaṅgho, bhikkhusaṅghasseveta’’nti.
420那时,有一位年老的前摔跤手女人在比丘尼中出家了。她在车道上看到一个体弱的比丘,就用肩膀撞他,把他撞倒了。比丘们批评、指责、非议道:'一个比丘尼怎么能打比丘呢!' 他们把这件事报告给世尊。世尊说:'比丘们,比丘尼不应该打在家人。任何比丘尼打,犯恶作罪。比丘们,我允许比丘尼看到比丘后,从远处就让开道路。'
Tena kho pana samayena aññatarā itthī purāṇamallī bhikkhunīsu pabbajitā hoti. Sā rathikāya dubbalakaṃ bhikkhuṃ passitvā aṃsakūṭena pahāraṃ datvā pātesi . Bhikkhū ujjhāyanti khiyyanti vipācenti – ‘‘kathañhi nāma, bhikkhunī, bhikkhussa pahāraṃ dassatī’’ti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, bhikkhuniyā bhikkhussa pahāro dātabbo. Yā dadeyya, āpatti dukkaṭassa. Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, bhikkhuniyā bhikkhuṃ passitvā dūratova okkamitvā maggaṃ dātu’’nti.
78那时,有一位丈夫外出的女人,与情人有了身孕。她堕胎后,对一位常去她家、亲近她的比丘尼说:'喂,圣尼,请用钵把这胎儿拿出去扔了。' 于是,那位比丘尼就把那胎儿放进钵里,用大衣盖着走了。那时,有一位乞食的比丘发了这样一个誓愿:'我得到的第一个食物,如果不先给一位比丘或比丘尼,我自己决不享用。' 那位比丘看到了这位比丘尼,就对她说:'来,姐妹,接受食物吧。' 她回答:'够了,尊者。' 第二次……第三次那位比丘又对这位比丘尼说:'来,姐妹,接受食物吧。' 她仍回答:'够了,尊者。' 比丘说:'姐妹,我发了誓愿:“我得到的第一个食物,如果不先给一位比丘或比丘尼,我自己决不享用。” 来吧,姐妹,接受食物吧。' 于是,那位比丘尼在被这位比丘的催促下,就把钵拿出来给他看,说:'请看,尊者,钵里有胎儿;请不要告诉任何人。' 那位比丘批评、指责、非议道:'一个比丘尼怎么能用钵运送胎儿呢!' 然后,那位比丘把这件事告诉了比丘们。那些少欲知足的比丘批评、指责、非议道:'一个比丘尼怎么能用钵运送胎儿呢!' 他们把这件事报告给世尊。世尊说:'比丘们,比丘尼不应该用钵运送胎儿。任何比丘尼这么做,犯恶作罪。比丘们,我允许比丘尼在见到比丘时,拿出钵来让他看。'
Tena kho pana samayena aññatarā itthī pavutthapatikā jārena gabbhinī hoti. Sā gabbhaṃ pātetvā kulūpikaṃ bhikkhuniṃ etadavoca – ‘‘handayye, imaṃ gabbhaṃ pattena nīharā’’ti. Atha kho sā bhikkhunī taṃ gabbhaṃ patte pakkhipitvā saṅghāṭiyā paṭicchādetvā agamāsi. Tena kho pana samayena aññatarena piṇḍacārikena bhikkhunā samādānaṃ kataṃ hoti – ‘yāhaṃ paṭhamaṃ bhikkhaṃ labhissāmi, na taṃ adatvā bhikkhussa vā bhikkhuniyā vā paribhuñjissāmī’ti. Atha kho so bhikkhu taṃ bhikkhuniṃ passitvā etadavoca – ‘‘handa, bhagini, bhikkhaṃ paṭiggaṇhā’’ti. ‘‘Alaṃ ayyā’’ti. Dutiyampi kho…pe… tatiyampi kho so bhikkhu taṃ bhikkhuniṃ etadavoca – ‘‘handa, bhagini, bhikkhaṃ paṭiggaṇhā’’ti. ‘‘Alaṃ ayyā’’ti. ‘‘Mayā kho, bhagini, samādānaṃ kataṃ – ‘yāhaṃ paṭhamaṃ bhikkhaṃ labhissāmi, na taṃ adatvā bhikkhussa vā bhikkhuniyā vā paribhuñjissāmī’ti. Handa , bhagini, bhikkhaṃ paṭiggaṇhā’’ti. Atha kho sā bhikkhunī tena bhikkhunā nippīḷiyamānā nīharitvā pattaṃ dassesi – ‘‘passa, ayya, patte gabbhaṃ; mā ca kassaci ārocesī’’ti. Atha kho so bhikkhu ujjhāyati khiyyati vipāceti – ‘‘kathañhi nāma bhikkhunī pattena gabbhaṃ nīharissatī’’ti! Atha kho so bhikkhu bhikkhūnaṃ etamatthaṃ ārocesi. Ye te bhikkhū appicchā…pe… te ujjhāyanti khiyyanti vipācenti – ‘‘kathañhi nāma bhikkhunī pattena gabbhaṃ nīharissatī’’ti! Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, bhikkhuniyā pattena gabbho nīharitabbo. Yā nīhareyya, āpatti dukkaṭassa. Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, bhikkhuniyā bhikkhuṃ passitvā nīharitvā pattaṃ dassetu’’nti.
79那时,六群比丘尼见到比丘后,把钵翻转过来,露出钵底给他看。比丘们批评、指责、非议道:'六群比丘尼怎么能见到比丘后,把钵翻转过来,露出钵底给他看呢!' 于是,那些比丘就把这件事报告给世尊。世尊说:'比丘们,比丘尼见到比丘后,不应该把钵翻转过来,露出钵底给他看。任何比丘尼这么做,犯恶作罪。比丘们,我允许比丘尼见到比丘后,端正地举起钵来展示。而且,如果钵里有食物,应该用这个邀请比丘接受。'
Tena kho pana samayena chabbaggiyā bhikkhuniyo bhikkhuṃ passitvā parivattetvā pattamūlaṃ dassenti. Bhikkhū ujjhāyanti khiyyanti vipācenti – ‘‘kathañhi nāma chabbaggiyā bhikkhuniyo bhikkhuṃ passitvā parivattetvā pattamūlaṃ dassessantī’’ti! Atha kho te bhikkhū bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, bhikkhuniyā bhikkhuṃ passitvā parivattetvā pattamūlaṃ dassetabbaṃ. Yā dasseyya, āpatti dukkaṭassa. Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, bhikkhuniyā bhikkhuṃ passitvā ukkujjitvā pattaṃ dassetuṃ. Yañca patte āmisaṃ hoti, tena ca bhikkhu nimantetabbo’’ti.
80那时,在舍卫城的一条车道上,有人丢弃了一个男性生殖器官。比丘尼们仔细地凑近看。人们发出了惊呼声。那些比丘尼感到羞惭。于是,那些比丘尼回到住处,把这件事告诉了比丘尼们。那些少欲知足的比丘尼批评、指责、非议道:'比丘尼们怎么能凑近看男性生殖器官呢!' 然后,那些比丘尼又把这件事告诉了比丘们。比丘们把这件事报告给世尊。世尊说:'比丘们,比丘尼不应该凑近看男性生殖器官。任何比丘尼这么做,犯恶作罪。'
Tena kho pana samayena sāvatthiyaṃ rathikāya purisabyañjanaṃ chaḍḍitaṃ hoti. Taṃ bhikkhuniyo sakkaccaṃ upanijjhāyiṃsu. Manussā ukkuṭṭhiṃ akaṃsu. Tā bhikkhuniyo maṅkū ahesuṃ. Atha kho tā bhikkhuniyo upassayaṃ gantvā bhikkhunīnaṃ etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. Yā tā bhikkhuniyo appicchā…pe… tā ujjhāyanti khiyyanti vipācenti – ‘‘kathañhi nāma bhikkhuniyo purisabyañjanaṃ upanijjhāyissantī’’ti! Atha kho tā bhikkhuniyo bhikkhūnaṃ etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. Bhikkhū bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, bhikkhuniyā purisabyañjanaṃ upanijjhāyitabbaṃ. Yā upanijjhāyeyya, āpatti dukkaṭassā’’ti.
421那时候,人们把食物布施给比丘们。比丘们又把这些食物转送给比丘尼们。人们就抱怨、批评、指责说:“这些尊者怎么可以把为了自己受用的布施品转送给别人呢!我们也不知道该怎么布施才好了。”这件事报告给了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,不可以把为了自己受用而布施的东西转送给别人。谁要是送了,就是恶作罪。”

84那时候,人们把食物布施给比丘尼们。比丘尼们又把这些食物转送给比丘们。人们就抱怨、批评、指责说:“这些比丘尼怎么可以把为了自己受用而布施的东西转送给别人呢!我们也不知道该怎么布施才好了。”这件事报告给了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,比丘尼不可以把为了自己受用而布施的东西转送给别人。谁要是送了,就是恶作罪。”

422那时候,比丘们的房舍有富余,比丘尼们却没有。比丘尼们派人到比丘们那里传话说:“尊者,请尊者们暂时借给我们一些房舍,那就好了。”这件事报告给了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,我允许你们暂时借给比丘尼们房舍。”
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhūnaṃ senāsanaṃ ussannaṃ hoti, bhikkhunīnaṃ na hoti. Bhikkhuniyo bhikkhūnaṃ santike dūtaṃ pāhesuṃ – ‘sādhu, bhante, ayyā amhākaṃ senāsanaṃ dentu tāvakālika’nti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, bhikkhunīnaṃ senāsanaṃ dātuṃ tāvakālika’’nti.
88那时候,来月经的比丘尼坐到或躺到没有铺垫的床上、没有铺垫的椅子上,房舍被经血弄脏了。这件事报告给了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,比丘尼不可以坐到或躺到没有铺垫的床上、没有铺垫的椅子上。谁要是坐了或躺了,就是恶作罪。比丘们,我允许使用住处衣。”住处衣又被经血弄脏了。这件事报告给了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,我允许使用垫布。”垫布又滑落下来。这件事报告给了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,我允许用线缝起来,绑在大腿上。”线又断了。这件事报告给了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,我允许使用月经腰带、腰绳。”

89那时,六群比丘尼任何时候都佩戴腰带。人们讥嫌、批评、指责说:"就像在家的欲乐享受女一样。" 这事报告了世尊。"诸比丘,比丘尼不应任何时候都佩戴腰带。如果佩戴了,犯恶作(突吉罗)。诸比丘,我允许月经期的比丘尼佩戴腰带。"

423那时,一些受具足戒的比丘尼出现了:无女相者、仅有细微相者、无经血者、常流经血者、常带污布者、体液常流者、顶部凸起者、女人黄门、似男形者、根部破裂者、两性人。这事报告了世尊。"诸比丘,我允许为求具足戒者问二十四种障碍法。而且,诸比丘,应该这样问:'你是不是无女相者?是不是仅有细微相者?是不是无经血者?是不是常流经血者?是不是常带污布者?是不是体液常流者?是不是顶部凸起者?是不是女人黄门?是不是似男形者?是不是根部破裂者?是不是两性人?你有没有这样的病:疮、瘤、白斑、痨病、癫痫?你是人吗?是女人吗?是自主者吗?没有债务吗?不是国王的劳役吗?得到父母、丈夫的允许了吗?年满二十岁了吗?你的衣钵具足吗?你叫什么名字?你的亲教师叫什么名字?'"

Evañca pana , bhikkhave, pucchitabbā – ‘nasi animittā, nasi nimittamattā, nasi alohitā, nasi dhuvalohitā, nasi dhuvacoḷā, nasi paggharantī, nasi sikharaṇī , nasi itthipaṇḍakā, nasi vepurisikā, nasi sambhinnā, nasi ubhatobyañjanā? Santi te evarūpā ābādhā – kuṭṭhaṃ, gaṇḍo, kilāso, soso, apamāro? Manussāsi, itthīsi, bhujissāsi, aṇaṇāsi, nasi rājabhaṭī? Anuññātāsi mātāpitūhi, sāmikena? 91那时,比丘们直接向比丘尼问障碍法。那些求具足戒者惊慌失措,窘迫不安,不能回答。这事报告了世尊。"诸比丘,我允许在比丘尼僧团中已受一部具足戒、获得清净的女性,到比丘僧团中接受具足戒。"

92那时,比丘尼们没有事先教导,就直接问求具足戒者障碍法。那些求具足戒者惊慌失措,窘迫不安,不能回答。这事报告了世尊。"诸比丘,我允许先教导,然后再问障碍法。"
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhuniyo ananusiṭṭhā upasampadāpekkhāyo antarāyike dhamme pucchanti. Upasampadāpekkhāyo vitthāyanti, maṅkū honti, na sakkonti vissajjetuṃ. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, paṭhamaṃ anusāsitvā pacchā antarāyike dhamme pucchitu’’nti.
93她们就在僧众的正中央教导。求具足戒者同样惊慌失措,窘迫不安,不能回答。这事报告了世尊。"诸比丘,我允许在一边先教导,然后再在僧众中央问障碍法。而且,诸比丘,应该这样教导:
Tattheva saṅghamajjhe anusāsanti. Upasampadāpekkhāyo tatheva vitthāyanti, maṅkū honti , na sakkonti vissajjetuṃ. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, ekamantaṃ anusāsitvā saṅghamajjhe antarāyike dhamme pucchituṃ. Evañca pana, bhikkhave, anusāsitabbā.
424"首先,要让她礼请自己的依止师。礼请了依止师之后,要指示衣钵:'这是你的钵,这是你的僧伽梨,这是你的郁多罗僧,这是你的安陀会,这是你的僧脚崎,这是你的浴衣。去,站在那个地方。'"
‘‘Paṭhamaṃ upajjhaṃ gāhāpetabbā. Upajjhaṃ gāhāpetvā pattacīvaraṃ ācikkhitabbaṃ – ‘ayaṃ te patto, ayaṃ saṅghāṭi, ayaṃ uttarāsaṅgo, ayaṃ antaravāsako, idaṃ saṃkaccikaṃ , ayaṃ udakasāṭikā; gaccha amumhi okāse tiṭṭhāhī’’ti.
95那些愚痴、不善巧的比丘尼进行教导。那些求具足戒者得到不好的教导,惊慌失措,窘迫不安,不能回答。这事报告了世尊。"诸比丘,不应由愚痴、不善巧的比丘尼来教导。如果这样教导了,犯恶作。诸比丘,我允许由聪明、贤能、有能力的比丘尼来教导。"
Bālā abyattā anusāsanti. Duranusiṭṭhā upasampadāpekkhāyo vitthāyanti, maṅkū honti, na sakkonti vissajjetuṃ. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, bālāya abyattāya anusāsitabbā. Yā anusāseyya, āpatti dukkaṭassa. Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, byattāya bhikkhuniyā paṭibalāya anusāsitu’’nti.
96那些未被僧团委任的比丘尼进行教导。这事报告了世尊。"诸比丘,不应由未被委任的比丘尼来教导。如果这样教导了,犯恶作。诸比丘,我允许由被委任的比丘尼来教导。而且,诸比丘,应该这样委任:可以自己委任自己,或者由另一人委任另一人。

97怎么做称为自己任命自己?有经验和有能力的比丘尼应向僧团报告:‘阿姨们,请僧团听我说。名叫某某的女子在名叫某某的阿姨那里期待达上。如果僧团的时机合适,我将教导某某。’这样就是自己任命自己。

99那位被任命的比丘尼走到期待达上的人面前,应对她说:‘某某,你听着。这对你来说是说实话的时候,是讲真话的时候。在僧团中被问到发生了的事情时,有的就要说‘有’,没有的就要说‘没有’。不要犹豫,不要窘迫。他们会这样问你——你没有阴户、你仅有阴户模样、你不是无经血的、你不是经常出血的、你不是总是戴布的、你不是血滴流的吗?你没有阴户突起、你不是被去势的女性吗?你没有男相、你不是两性吗?你没有这样的疾病——癣、疮、白癜风、肺痨、癫痫吗?你是人吗?你是女人吗?你是自由身吗?你没有债务吗?你不是王家仆役吗?你得到父母同意了吗?得到丈夫同意了吗?你满二十岁了吗?你的钵和袈裟齐全吗?你叫什么名字?你的导师叫什么名字?’

‘‘Ekato āgacchanti. Na ekato āgantabbaṃ. Anusāsikāya paṭhamataraṃ āgantvā saṅgho ñāpetabbo – ‘suṇātu me, ayye, saṅgho. Itthannāmā itthannāmāya ayyāya upasampadāpekkhā. Anusiṭṭhā sā mayā. Yadi saṅghassa pattakallaṃ, itthannāmā āgaccheyyā’ti. ‘Āgacchāhī’ti vattabbā.
101应让她偏袒上衣披于一肩,向比丘尼们礼足,让她蹲坐,合掌,然后让她乞求达上:‘阿姨们,我向僧团乞求达上。阿姨们,请僧团出于悲悯打捞我。第二次,阿姨们,我向僧团乞求达上。阿姨们,请僧团出于悲悯打捞我。第三次,阿姨们,我向僧团乞求达上。阿姨们,请僧团出于悲悯打捞我。’然后,有经验和有能力的比丘尼应向僧团报告:

108“应该马上带她去到比丘僧团那里,让她把上衣搭在一肩,向比丘们顶礼双足,跪坐着,合掌,让她这样请求达上:‘圣者们,我是名叫某某的、以圣尼某某为依止师的求达上者。我已经在比丘尼僧团那一方面达上了,是清净的。圣者们,我向僧团请求达上。圣者们,僧团,请出于怜悯而接引我。圣者们,我是名叫某某的、以圣尼某某为依止师的求达上者。我已经在比丘尼僧团那一方面达上了,是清净的。圣者们,我第二次向僧团请求达上。圣者们,僧团,请出于怜悯而接引我。圣者们,我是名叫某某的、以圣尼某某为依止师的求达上者。我已经在比丘尼僧团那一方面达上了,是清净的。圣者们,我第三次向僧团请求达上。圣者们,僧团,请出于怜悯而接引我。’然后,应该由一位能干、胜任的比丘来通知僧团:”

113应该立即测量影子,告知季节特征,告知白天时段,告知集会,对比丘尼们说:你们应当告知这位新比丘尼她的三个依止和八个不应当做的事。
‘‘Tāvadeva chāyā metabbā, utuppamāṇaṃ ācikkhitabbaṃ, divasabhāgo ācikkhitabbo, saṅgīti ācikkhitabbā, bhikkhuniyo vattabbā – imissā tayo ca nissaye, aṭṭha ca akaraṇīyāni ācikkheyyāthā’’ti.
426那时,比丘尼们在食堂里为了座位的事纷纷生疑,耗掉了时间。他们把这件事告诉了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,我允许八位比丘尼按照戒腊顺序坐,其余的按照她们来的先后顺序坐。”
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhuniyo bhattagge āsanaṃ saṃkasāyantiyo kālaṃ vītināmesuṃ. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ . ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, aṭṭhannaṃ bhikkhunīnaṃ yathāvuḍḍhaṃ, avasesānaṃ yathāgatika’’nti.
115那时,比丘尼们心想:‘世尊允许八位比丘尼按戒腊坐,其余的按来的先后坐。’于是他们在所有地方都拦住其余的比丘尼,只让那八位按戒腊坐,让其余的按先后顺序坐。他们把这件事告诉了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,我允许在食堂里八位比丘尼按戒腊坐,其余的按来的先后坐;在其他所有地方,不应阻止按戒腊顺序坐。如果哪个比丘尼加以阻止,就犯恶作。”
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhuniyo – bhagavatā anuññātaṃ aṭṭhannaṃ bhikkhunīnaṃ yathāvuḍḍhaṃ, avasesānaṃ yathāgatikanti – sabbattha aṭṭheva bhikkhuniyo yathāvuḍḍhaṃ paṭibāhanti, avasesāyo yathāgatikaṃ. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, bhattagge aṭṭhannaṃ bhikkhunīnaṃ yathāvuḍḍhaṃ, avasesānaṃ yathāgatikaṃ; aññattha sabbattha yathāvuḍḍhaṃ na paṭibāhitabbaṃ. Yā paṭibāheyya, āpatti dukkaṭassā’’ti.
427那时,比丘尼们不举行自恣。他们把这件事告诉了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,比丘尼不能不举行自恣。如果哪个比丘尼不举行自恣,应该依法处理。”

117那时,比丘尼们在自己僧团自恣之后,不到比丘僧团那边去自恣。他们把这件事告诉了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,比丘尼在自己僧团自恣之后,不能不到比丘僧团那里自恣。如果哪个比丘尼不去,应该依法处理。”
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhuniyo attanā pavāretvā bhikkhusaṅghaṃ na pavārenti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, bhikkhuniyā attanā pavāretvā bhikkhusaṅgho na pavāretabbo. Yā na pavāreyya, yathādhammo kāretabbo’’ti.
118那时,比丘尼们和比丘们一起在同处自恣,闹得很喧哗。他们把这件事告诉了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,比丘尼不应和比丘们同处一起自恣。如果哪个比丘尼那样做,就犯恶作。”

119那时,比丘尼们在饭前自恣,耽误了时间。他们把这件事告诉了世尊。世尊说:“我允许在饭后自恣。”后来他们在饭后自恣,时间变得太晚。他们把这件事告诉了世尊。世尊说:“我允许在当天先和比丘尼僧团自恣,第二天再到比丘僧团那里自恣。”
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhuniyo purebhattaṃ pavārentiyo kālaṃ vītināmesuṃ. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, pacchābhattaṃ pavāretu’’nti. Pacchābhattaṃ pavārentiyo vikāle ahesuṃ. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, ajjatanā bhikkhunisaṅghaṃ pavāretvā aparajju bhikkhusaṅghaṃ pavāretu’’nti.
120那时,整个比丘尼僧团一起自恣,闹得很喧哗。他们把这件事告诉了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,我允许推选一位贤明能干的比丘尼,代表比丘尼僧团到比丘僧团那里作自恣。而应当这样推选:首先应当请求这位比丘尼,请求之后,由僧团向那位贤明能干的比丘尼宣告——”

Paṭhamaṃ bhikkhunī yācitabbā, yācitvā byattāya bhikkhuniyā paṭibalāya saṅgho ñāpetabbo –
121“尊者们,请比丘尼僧团听我说。如果僧团觉得合适,僧团可以委任一位名叫某某的比丘尼,代表比丘尼僧团去向比丘僧团请自恣。这就是动议。”
‘‘Suṇātu me, ayye, saṅgho. Yadi saṅghassa pattakallaṃ, saṅgho itthannāmaṃ bhikkhuniṃ sammanneyya bhikkhunisaṅghassa atthāya bhikkhusaṅghaṃ pavāretuṃ. Esā ñatti.
122“尊者们,请比丘尼僧团听我说。僧团委任了名叫某某的比丘尼,代表比丘尼僧团去向比丘僧团请自恣。哪位尊者同意委任这位名叫某某的比丘尼,代表比丘尼僧团去向比丘僧团请自恣的,请保持沉默。哪位不同意,请说出来。”
‘‘Suṇātu me, ayye, saṅgho. Saṅgho itthannāmaṃ bhikkhuniṃ sammannati bhikkhunisaṅghassa atthāya bhikkhusaṅghaṃ pavāretuṃ. Yassā ayyāya khamati itthannāmāya bhikkhuniyā sammuti bhikkhunisaṅghassa atthāya bhikkhusaṅghaṃ pavāretuṃ, sā tuṇhassa; yassā nakkhamati, sā bhāseyya.
123“这位名叫某某的比丘尼,已被僧团委任,代表比丘尼僧团去向比丘僧团请自恣。此事得到僧团的同意,因此大家沉默,我就这样记录这件事了。”
‘‘Sammatā saṅghena itthannāmā bhikkhunī bhikkhunisaṅghassa atthāya bhikkhusaṅghaṃ pavāretuṃ. Khamati saṅghassa, tasmā tuṇhī, evametaṃ dhārayāmīti.
124“那位被委任的比丘尼,要带领比丘尼僧团,前往比丘僧团那里。到了以后,偏袒上衣露出一肩,顶礼比丘们的双足,然后蹲坐下来,双手合十,应该这样说:‘尊者们,比丘尼僧团向比丘僧团请自恣——关于看到的、听到的、或者有所疑虑的事情。请比丘僧团出于悲悯,对比丘尼僧团指出来;看到了,她们会去纠正。第二次,尊者们……第三次,尊者们,比丘尼僧团向比丘僧团请自恣——关于看到的、听到的、或者有所疑虑的事情。请比丘僧团出于悲悯,对比丘尼僧团指出来;看到了,她们会去纠正。’”
‘‘Tāya sammatāya bhikkhuniyā bhikkhunisaṅghaṃ ādāya bhikkhusaṅghaṃ upasaṅkamitvā ekaṃsaṃ uttarāsaṅgaṃ karitvā bhikkhūnaṃ pāde vanditvā ukkuṭikaṃ nisīditvā añjaliṃ paggahetvā evamassa vacanīyo – ‘bhikkhunīsaṅgho , ayyā, bhikkhusaṅghaṃ pavāreti – diṭṭhena vā, sutena vā parisaṅkāya vā. 428就在那个时候,有些比丘尼去取消比丘们的伍波萨他(诵戒及说戒)、取消自恣、做“令人言说”的羯磨、发起指控、请求允许(指控)、举罪、教诫。比丘们把这件事禀告了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,比丘尼不可以取消比丘的伍波萨他;即使去取消了,也视为无效;去取消的比丘尼,犯恶作罪。不可以取消自恣;即使去取消了,也视为无效;去取消的比丘尼,犯恶作罪。不可以对比丘做‘令人言说’的羯磨;即使做了,也视为无效;去做的比丘尼,犯恶作罪。不可以对比丘发起指控;即使发起了,也视为无效;去发起的比丘尼,犯恶作罪。不可以令比丘请求允许(指控);即使请求了,也视为无效;去令其请求的比丘尼,犯恶作罪。不可以对比丘举罪;即使举了,也视为无效;去举罪的比丘尼,犯恶作罪。不可以对比丘进行教诫;即使教诫了,也视为无效;去教诫的比丘尼,犯恶作罪。”

Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, bhikkhuniyā bhikkhussa uposatho ṭhapetabbo; ṭhapitopi aṭṭhapito; ṭhapentiyā āpatti dukkaṭassa. Na pavāraṇā ṭhapetabbā; ṭhapitāpi aṭṭhapitā; ṭhapentiyā āpatti dukkaṭassa. Na savacanīyaṃ kātabbaṃ; katampi akataṃ; karontiyā āpatti dukkaṭassa. Na anuvādo paṭṭhapetabbo; paṭṭhapitopi appaṭṭhapito; paṭṭhapentiyā āpatti dukkaṭassa. Na okāso kāretabbo ; kāritopi akārito; kārentiyā āpatti dukkaṭassa. Na codetabbo; coditopi acodito; codentiyā āpatti dukkaṭassa . Na sāretabbo; sāritopi asārito; sārentiyā āpatti dukkaṭassā’’ti.
126就在那个时候,比丘们去取消比丘尼们的伍波萨他、取消自恣、做“令人言说”的羯磨、发起指控、请求允许(指控)、举罪、教诫。比丘们把这件事禀告了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,我允许比丘去取消比丘尼的伍波萨他;这样去取消是有效的;去取消的比丘,没有罪。允许取消自恣;这样去取消是有效的;去取消的比丘,没有罪。允许做‘令人言说’的羯磨;这样去是有效的;去做的比丘,没有罪。允许发起指控;这样去发起是正确的;去发起的比丘,没有罪。允许令其请求允许(指控);这样去令其请求是有效的;去令其请求的比丘,没有罪。允许举罪;这样去举罪是正确的;去举罪的比丘,没有罪。允许教诫;这样去教诫是正确的;去教诫的比丘,没有罪。”

Pavāraṇaṃ ṭhapetuṃ; ṭhapitāpi suṭṭhapitā; ṭhapentassa anāpatti. Savacanīyaṃ kātuṃ; katampi sukataṃ; karontassa anāpatti. Anuvādaṃ paṭṭhapetuṃ; paṭṭhapitopi suppaṭṭhapito; paṭṭhapentassa anāpatti. Okāsaṃ kāretuṃ; kāritopi sukārito; kārentassa anāpatti. Codetuṃ; coditāpi sucoditā; codentassa anāpatti. Sāretuṃ; sāritāpi susāritā; sārentassa anāpattī’’ti.
429就在那个时候,六群比丘尼乘坐车辆出行,有的女人驾的车却用男人来拉,有的男人驾的车却用女人来拉。人们对此讥嫌、批评、非议……说:“就跟恒河边的富家女一样嘛!”比丘们把这件事禀告了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,比丘尼不可以乘坐车辆出行。如果有谁乘坐了,应该按照法规来处理。”
Tena kho pana samayena chabbaggiyā bhikkhuniyo yānena yāyanti – itthiyuttenapi purisantarena, purisayuttenapi itthantarena. Manussā ujjhāyanti khiyyanti vipācenti…pe… ‘‘seyyathāpi gaṅgāmahiyāyā’’ti . Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, bhikkhuniyā yānena yāyitabbaṃ. Yā yāyeyya, yathādhammo kāretabbo’’ti.
128就在那个时候,有一位比丘尼生病了,没办法步行。比丘们把这件事禀告了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,我允许生病的比丘尼乘车。”接着,比丘尼们心里想:“那到底是乘女人拉的车,还是男人拉的车呢?”比丘们把这件事禀告了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,我允许(比丘尼乘)女人拉的车、男人拉的车,以及手拉车。”
Tena kho pana samayena aññatarā bhikkhunī gilānā hoti, na sakkoti padasā gantuṃ. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi , bhikkhave, gilānāya yāna’’nti. Atha kho bhikkhunīnaṃ etadahosi – ‘‘itthiyuttaṃ nu kho, purisayuttaṃ nu kho’’ti? Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, itthiyuttaṃ purisayuttaṃ hatthavaṭṭaka’’nti.
129那时,有一位比丘尼被推车撞伤,感到非常痛苦。他们将此事禀告世尊。世尊说:‘诸比丘,我允许使用轿子和帆布床。’
Tena kho pana samayena aññatarissā bhikkhuniyā yānugghātena bāḷhataraṃ aphāsu ahosi. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, sivikaṃ pāṭaṅki’’nti.
430那时,妓女阿塔卡西在比丘尼僧团中出家了。她想前往舍卫城,心想:‘我要在世尊面前受具足戒。’那些流氓听闻:‘据说妓女阿塔卡西想去舍卫城。’他们就守在路上了。妓女阿塔卡西也听闻:‘据说流氓守在路上了。’她便派了一位使者去世尊那里,说:‘我确实想受具足戒,现在我该怎么办?’于是世尊依此因缘,为此事作过相关法谈后,对比丘们说:‘诸比丘,我允许通过使者来给与具足戒。’
Tena kho pana samayena aḍḍhakāsī gaṇikā bhikkhunīsu pabbajitā hoti. Sā ca sāvatthiṃ gantukāmā hoti – ‘bhagavato santike upasampajjissāmī’ti. Assosuṃ kho dhuttā – ‘aḍḍhakāsī kira gaṇikā sāvatthiṃ gantukāmā’ti. Te magge pariyuṭṭhiṃsu. Assosi kho aḍḍhakāsī gaṇikā – ‘dhuttā kira magge pariyuṭṭhitā’ti. Bhagavato santike dūtaṃ pāhesi – ‘‘ahañhi upasampajjitukāmā; kathaṃ nu kho mayā paṭipajjitabba’’nti? Atha kho bhagavā etasmiṃ nidāne etasmiṃ pakaraṇe dhammiṃ kathaṃ katvā bhikkhū āmantesi – ‘‘anujānāmi, bhikkhave, dūtenapi upasampādetu’’nti.
131她们通过比丘使者来给与具足戒。他们将此事禀告世尊。世尊说:‘诸比丘,不应由比丘使者给与具足戒。若这样做,犯恶作。’她们通过式叉摩那使者给与具足戒…她们通过沙马内拉使者给与具足戒…她们通过沙马内莉使者给与具足戒…她们通过愚痴、不明事理的使者给与具足戒。世尊说:‘诸比丘,不应通过愚痴、不明事理的使者给与具足戒。若这样做,犯恶作。诸比丘,我允许通过一位聪明、有能力的比丘尼使者来给与具足戒。’
Bhikkhudūtena upasampādenti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, bhikkhudūtena upasampādetabbā. Yo upasampādeyya, āpatti dukkaṭassā’’ti. Sikkhamānadūtena upasampādenti…pe… sāmaṇeradūtena upasampādenti…pe… sāmaṇeridūtena upasampādenti…pe… bālāya abyattāya dūtena upasampādenti. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, bālāya abyattāya dūtena upasampādetabbā. Yo upasampādeyya, āpatti dukkaṭassa. Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, byattāya bhikkhuniyā paṭibalāya dūtena upasampādetunti.
132那位使者比丘尼应到僧团那里去,偏袒上衣一边的肩膀,顶礼比丘们双足后,蹲坐下来,合掌,然后这样说:‘诸位大德,某甲是某甲大德的求受具足戒者。她已在比丘尼僧团中受了一部具足戒,是清净的。她因某种障碍未能前来。某甲,诸位大德,向僧团乞求具足戒。愿僧团出于慈悯,接引她吧!’‘某甲,诸位大德,是某甲大德的求受具足戒者。她已在比丘尼僧团中受了一部具足戒,是清净的。她因某种障碍未能前来。第二次,诸位大德,某甲向僧团乞求具足戒。愿僧团出于慈悯,接引她吧!’‘某甲,诸位大德,是某甲大德的求受具足戒者。她已在比丘尼僧团中受了一部具足戒,是清净的。她因某种障碍未能前来。第三次,诸位大德,某甲向僧团乞求具足戒。愿僧团出于慈悯,接引她吧!’接着,应由一位聪明、有能力的比丘向僧团作宣告:
‘‘Tāya dūtāya bhikkhuniyā saṅghaṃ upasaṅkamitvā ekaṃsaṃ uttarāsaṅgaṃ karitvā bhikkhūnaṃ pāde vanditvā ukkuṭikaṃ nisīditvā añjaliṃ paggahetvā evamassa vacanīyo – ‘itthannāmā, ayyā, itthannāmāya ayyāya upasampadāpekkhā. 137你去告诉她的同时,就要马上为她测影量时间,要告知季节的量度,要告知白天的时段,要告知她是僧众集会中的哪一位,还要告诉那些比丘尼们——你们要把她那三个依止和八件不能做的事,都一一给她说清楚。”
‘‘Tāvadeva chāyā metabbā, utuppamāṇaṃ ācikkhitabbaṃ, divasabhāgo ācikkhitabbo, saṅgīti ācikkhitabbā, bhikkhuniyo vattabbā – tassā tayo ca nissaye, aṭṭha ca akaraṇīyāni ācikkheyyāthā’’ti.
431就在那个时候,有些比丘尼是住在荒野林间的。结果被一些浪荡子给侵犯了。比丘尼们就把这件事禀报了世尊。世尊说:“各位比丘,比丘尼不可以住在荒野林间。如果有谁住了,犯的是恶作案。”
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhuniyo araññe viharanti. Dhuttā dūsenti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ, ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, bhikkhuniyā araññe vatthabbaṃ. Yā vaseyya, āpatti dukkaṭassā’’ti.
139就在那个时候,有一位优婆塞,把一栋高脚屋布施给了比丘尼僧团。比丘尼们把这件事禀报了世尊。(世尊说:) “各位比丘,我允许使用高脚屋。” 后来,高脚屋不够用了,比丘尼们把这件事禀报了世尊。(世尊说:) “各位比丘,我允许使用临时住所。” 后来,临时住所又不够用了,比丘尼们把这件事禀报了世尊。(世尊说:) “各位比丘,我允许兴建新工程。” 后来,新工程也不够用了,比丘尼们把这件事禀报了世尊。(世尊说:) “各位比丘,我允许你们也让个人兴建属于自己的住处。”
Tena kho pana samayena aññatarena upāsakena bhikkhunisaṅghassa uddosito dinno hoti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, uddosita’’nti. Uddosito na sammati. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, upassaya’’nti. Upassayo na sammati. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, navakamma’’nti. Navakammaṃ na sammati. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, puggalikampi kātu’’nti.
432就在那个时候,有一位在俗家时就已怀有身孕、隐藏着肚子而出家的女人,在比丘尼众中出了家。她出家之后,孩子就生了下来。于是,这位比丘尼心里就想:“我到底该怎么对待这个婴儿才好呢?” 比丘尼们就把这件事禀报了世尊。(世尊说:)“各位比丘,我允许你们抚养他,直到这个孩子长到懂事为止。”
Tena kho pana samayena aññatarā itthī sannisinnagabbhā bhikkhunīsu pabbajitā hoti. Tassā pabbajitāya gabbho vuṭṭhāti. Atha kho tassā bhikkhuniyā etadahosi – ‘‘kathaṃ nu kho mayā imasmiṃ dārake paṭipajjitabba’’nti? Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ . ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, posetuṃ, yāva so dārako viññutaṃ pāpuṇātī’’ti.
141接着,那位比丘尼心里又想:“我被规定不能自己独住,而另外那位比丘尼呢,又被规定不能和这个小孩子住在一起。那我到底该怎么办才好呢?” 比丘尼们就把这件事禀报了世尊。世尊说:“各位比丘,我允许你们由僧团去推举一位比丘尼,把她派给那位比丘尼作伴住房友。而且,各位比丘,应当这样来推举:首先,要向那位比丘尼提出请求;请求之后,应当由一位有能力、有担当的比丘尼,向僧团作这样的告知:
Atha kho tassā bhikkhuniyā etadahosi – ‘‘mayā ca na labbhā ekikāya vatthuṃ, aññāya ca bhikkhuniyā na labbhā dārakena saha vatthuṃ, kathaṃ nu kho mayā paṭipajjitabba’’nti? Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, ekaṃ bhikkhuniṃ sammannitvā tassā bhikkhuniyā dutiyaṃ dātuṃ. Evañca pana, bhikkhave, sammannitabbā. Paṭhamaṃ bhikkhunī yācitabbā, yācitvā byattāya bhikkhuniyā paṭibalāya saṅgho ñāpetabbo –
142“各位圣尼,请听我说。如果僧团认为时机合适,请僧团推举某某比丘尼,来当某某比丘尼的伴住房友。这就是动议。”

143“各位圣尼,请听我说。僧团正在推举某某比丘尼来当某某比丘尼的伴住房友。在场的哪位圣尼,对于推举某某比丘尼来当某某比丘尼的伴住房友这件事是赞同的,请保持沉默;哪位圣尼如果不同意,请直接说出来。”
‘‘Suṇātu me, ayye, saṅgho. Saṅgho itthannāmaṃ bhikkhuniṃ sammannati itthannāmāya bhikkhuniyā dutiyaṃ. Yassā ayyāya khamati itthannāmāya bhikkhuniyā sammuti itthannāmāya bhikkhuniyā dutiyāya, sā tuṇhassa; yassā nakkhamati, sā bhāseyya.
144“某某比丘尼,已经被僧团推举为某某比丘尼的伴住房友了。这件事僧团同意了,所以才会沉默,我就这样把这事记下来了。”
‘‘Sammatā saṅghena itthannāmā bhikkhunī itthannāmāya bhikkhuniyā dutiyā. Khamati saṅghassa, tasmā tuṇhī, evametaṃ dhārayāmī’’ti.
145当时,另一位比丘尼心里想:“对于这个男孩,我该怎么处理才好呢?” 比丘们把这事报告了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,我允许,就像处理其他男人的方式一样,只是把在家人排除在外,用同样的方法来处理这个男孩。”
Atha kho tassā dutiyikāya bhikkhuniyā etadahosi – ‘‘kathaṃ nu kho mayā imasmiṃ dārake paṭipajjitabba’’nti? Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, ṭhapetvā sāgāraṃ yathā aññasmiṃ purise paṭipajjanti evaṃ tasmiṃ dārake paṭipajjitu’’nti.
433那时,有一位犯了重法的比丘尼,正在行别住。这时,那位比丘尼心里想:“我不能单独住,其他比丘尼也不能和我一起住。我该怎么办才好呢?” 比丘们把这事报告了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,我允许,先选出一位比丘尼,然后派给那位比丘尼作同伴。而且,比丘们,应该这样来选:先要向一位比丘尼提出请求,请求之后,应当由一位聪明、有能力的比丘尼来通告僧团:
Tena kho pana samayena aññatarā bhikkhunī garudhammaṃ ajjhāpannā hoti mānattacārinī. Atha kho tassā bhikkhuniyā etadahosi – ‘‘mayā ca na labbhā ekikāya vatthuṃ, aññāya ca bhikkhuniyā na labbhā saha mayā vatthuṃ, kathaṃ nu kho mayā paṭipajjitabba’’nti? 149‘某某比丘尼已被僧团选定为某某比丘尼的同伴。僧团同意,因此保持沉默。我这样理解这件事。’”
‘‘Sammatā saṅghena itthannāmā bhikkhunī itthannāmāya bhikkhuniyā dutiyā. Khamati saṅghassa, tasmā tuṇhī, evametaṃ dhārayāmī’’ti.
434那时,有一位比丘尼放弃了学处后还俗了。后来她又回来,向比丘尼们请求达上。比丘们把这事报告了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,比丘尼放弃学处这事没有‘取消’这回事;就在她当初还俗的那个时候,她就已经不是比丘尼了。”
Tena kho pana samayena aññatarā bhikkhunī sikkhaṃ paccakkhāya vibbhami. Sā puna paccāgantvā bhikkhuniyo upasampadaṃ yāci . Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, bhikkhuniyā sikkhāpaccakkhānaṃ; yadeva sā vibbhantā tadeva sā abhikkhunī’’ti.
151那时,有一位比丘尼从自己的住处转投了外道。后来她又回来,向比丘尼们请求达上。比丘们把这事报告了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,那位从自己住处转投了外道的比丘尼,即使回来,也不应给予达上。”
Tena kho pana samayena aññatarā bhikkhunī sakāvāsā titthāyatanaṃ saṅkami. Sā puna paccāgantvā bhikkhuniyo upasampadaṃ yāci. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Yā sā, bhikkhave, bhikkhunī sakāvāsā titthāyatanaṃ saṅkantā, sā āgatā na upasampādetabbā’’ti.
152那时,比丘尼们因为担心犯戒,不接受男人提供的问讯、理发、剪指甲、疗伤包扎等服务。比丘们把这事报告了世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,我允许接受。”
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhuniyo purisehi abhivādanaṃ , kesacchedanaṃ, nakhacchedanaṃ, vaṇappaṭikammaṃ, kukkuccāyantā na sādiyanti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, sāditu’’nti .
435那时,比丘尼们以盘腿的姿势坐着,享受脚跟的接触。比丘们把这件事汇报给世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,比丘尼不应以盘腿的姿势坐着。如果她那样坐,就犯恶作。”
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhuniyo pallaṅkena nisīdanti paṇhīsamphassaṃ sādiyantī . Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, bhikkhuniyā pallaṅkena nisīditabbaṃ. Yā nisīdeyya, āpatti dukkaṭassā’’ti.
154那时,有一位比丘尼生病了。对她来说,不盘腿坐就不舒服。比丘们把这件事汇报给世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,我允许比丘尼用半盘腿的坐姿。”
Tena kho pana samayena aññatarā bhikkhunī gilānā hoti. Tassā vinā pallaṅkena na phāsu hoti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, bhikkhuniyā aḍḍhapallaṅka’’nti.
155那时,比丘尼们在厕所里大便。六群比丘尼就在那里堕胎。比丘们把这件事汇报给世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,比丘尼不应在厕所里大便。如果她那样做,就犯恶作。比丘们,我允许在下面敞开、上面遮蔽的地方大便。”
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhuniyo vaccakuṭiyā vaccaṃ karonti . Chabbaggiyā bhikkhuniyo tattheva gabbhaṃ pātenti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, bhikkhuniyā vaccakuṭiyā vacco kātabbo. Yā kareyya, āpatti dukkaṭassa. Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, heṭṭhā vivaṭe uparipaṭicchanne vaccaṃ kātu’’nti.
436那时,比丘尼们用香粉洗澡。人们讥嫌、批评、非难说:‘就像那些在家的、享受欲乐的女人一样。’比丘们把这件事汇报给世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,比丘尼不应以香粉洗澡。如果她那样洗,就犯恶作。比丘们,我允许使用灰土、黏土。”
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhuniyo cuṇṇena nahāyanti. Manussā ujjhāyanti khiyyanti vipācenti…pe… seyyathāpi gihinī kāmabhoginiyoti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ . ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, bhikkhuniyā cuṇṇena nahāyitabbaṃ. Yā nahāyeyya, āpatti dukkaṭassa. Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, kukkusaṃ mattika’’nti.
157那时,比丘尼们用香熏过的黏土洗澡。人们讥嫌、批评、非难说:‘就像那些在家的、享受欲乐的女人一样。’比丘们把这件事汇报给世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,比丘尼不应以香熏过的黏土洗澡。如果她那样洗,就犯恶作。比丘们,我允许使用普通的黏土。”
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhuniyo vāsitakāya mattikāya nahāyanti. Manussā ujjhāyanti khiyyanti vipācenti…pe… seyyathāpi gihinī kāmabhoginiyoti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, bhikkhuniyā vāsitakāya mattikāya nahāyitabbaṃ. Yā nahāyeyya, āpatti dukkaṭassa. Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, pakatimattika’’nti.
158那时,比丘尼们在浴室里洗澡的时候,制造了喧哗。比丘们把这件事汇报给世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,比丘尼不应在浴室里洗澡。如果她那样洗,就犯恶作。”
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhuniyo jantāghare nahāyantiyo kolāhalaṃ akaṃsu. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, bhikkhuniyā jantāghare nahāyitabbaṃ. Yā nahāyeyya, āpatti dukkaṭassā’’ti.
159那时,比丘尼们逆着水流洗澡,享受水流的冲击。比丘们把这件事汇报给世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,比丘尼不应逆着水流洗澡。如果她那样洗,就犯恶作。”
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhuniyo paṭisote nahāyanti dhārāsamphassaṃ sādiyantī. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave , bhikkhuniyā paṭisote nahāyitabbaṃ. Yā nahāyeyya, āpatti dukkaṭassā’’ti.
160那时,比丘尼们在非渡口处洗澡。一些流氓就骚扰她们。比丘们把这件事汇报给世尊。世尊说:“比丘们,比丘尼不应在非渡口处洗澡。如果她那样洗,就犯恶作。”
Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhuniyo atitthe nahāyanti. Dhuttā dūsenti. Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. ‘‘Na, bhikkhave, bhikkhuniyā atitthe nahāyitabbaṃ. Yā nahāyeyya, āpatti dukkaṭassā’’ti.
161那时,比丘尼们在男子的沐浴处洗澡。人们对此讥嫌、批评、指责……说:“就像是那些享受欲乐的在家女人一样。”他们将这件事报告给了世尊。世尊说:“诸位比丘,比丘尼不应在男子的沐浴处洗澡。若洗者,犯恶作。诸位比丘,我允许她们在女子的沐浴处洗澡。”

179一位百腊的比丘尼,亦应在当日受戒的比丘前,行礼迎接;
Vassasataṃ tadahu ca, abhikkhupaccāsīsanā;
180邀请、自恣、八重法,以及两年的别住、不诋毁。
Pavāraṇā garudhammā, dve vassā anakkosanā.
181这八条法是告诫,终生不得违越。
Ovaṭo ca aṭṭha dhammā, yāvajīvānuvattanā;
182接受这些重法,就成了她的具足戒。
Garudhammapaṭiggāho sāvassā upasampadā.
183原本正法将住世一千年,现在只有五百年了;就像陶罐和稻草,
Vassasahassaṃ pañceva, kumbhathenakasetaṭṭi;
184又如同用染料做的譬喻,正法就这样受到了损减。
Mañjiṭṭhikaupamāhi, evaṃ saddhammahiṃsanā.
185要先筑好堤坝,好让正法还能再次安住;
Āḷiṃ bandheyya pāeva, puna saddhammasaṇṭhiti;
186让圣尼们达上的事情,以及按照受戒先后礼敬比丘的事情,
Upasampādetuṃ ayyā, yathāvuḍḍhābhivādanā.
187她们究竟会怎么做呢?不论是共通还是不共通的规矩,
Na karissanti kimeva, sādhāraṇāsādhāraṇaṃ;
188教诫和巴蒂摩卡,她们又该怎么依止呢?
Ovādaṃ pātimokkhañca, kena nu kho upassayaṃ.
189她们不知道,也没有被告知;她们不与比丘们一起行事;
Na jānanti ca ācikkhi, na karonti ca bhikkhuhi;
190接受时由比丘们接受,由比丘尼们接受。
Paṭiggahetuṃ bhikkhūhi, bhikkhunīhi paṭiggaho.
191僧团行为由比丘们宣布,或被比丘尼们抱怨;
Ācikkhi kammaṃ bhikkhūhi, ujjhāyanti bhikkhunīhi vā;
192为了宣布和争吵,种下后为平息。
Ācikkhituṃ bhaṇḍanañca, ropetvā uppalāya ca.
193舍卫城的泥沼处,她以身体和腿部礼拜;
Sāvatthiyā kaddamoda, avandi kāya ūru ca;
194生殖器照亮(检视),各别众(比丘尼)在交合。
Aṅgajātañca obhāsaṃ, sampayojenti vaggikā.
195不受礼敬者、处罚决定,同样再次对比丘尼们;
Avandiyo daṇḍakammaṃ, bhikkhuniyo tathā puna;
196障碍、教诫,这样允许吗?已离开。
Āvaraṇañca ovādaṃ, kappati nu kho pakkami.
197愚者们依据事由判决,僧团以五法教诫;
Bālā vatthuvinicchayā, ovādaṃ saṅgho pañcahi;
198她们不拿两指、三指,那些幼稚的人、病人和前往病人处的人。
Duve tisso na gaṇhanti, bālā gilānagamikaṃ.
199住在林野的她们不令人生起信心,而且她们去了就不回来。
Āraññiko nārocenti, na paccāgacchanti ca;
200长长的藤椅,还有布片和编成的发辫;
Dīghaṃ vilīvacammañca, dussā ca veṇivaṭṭi ca;
201粗布辫、圆辫饰,还有线辫和圆饰。
Coḷaveṇi ca vaṭṭi ca, suttaveṇi ca vaṭṭikā.
202骨制小框,还有牛筋弓形物,以及手套、脚套也是如此;
Aṭṭhillaṃ gohanukena, hatthakocchaṃ pādaṃ tathā;
203在大腿、脸、牙齿、肉上,她们涂抹、按摩、扑粉。
Ūruṃ mukhaṃ dantamaṃsaṃ, ālimpomaddacuṇṇanā.
204她们涂抹身体彩绘,还有两种面部彩绘,也是如此;
Lañchenti aṅgarāgañca, mukharāgaṃ tathā duve;
205卑鄙的特别眼神,还有带着笑声和舞蹈。
Avaṅgaṃ visesoloko, sālokena naccena ca .
206妓女、酒馆、屠宰场、店铺、理发店与经商,
Vesī pānāgāraṃ sūnaṃ, āpaṇaṃ vaḍḍhi vaṇijjā;
207男女奴仆、雇工,以及仆役等来服侍。
Dāsaṃ dāsiṃ kammakaraṃ, kammakāriṃ upaṭṭhayyuṃ.
208畜类的哈丽塔基果,她们用来熏染衣料;
Tiracchānaharītaki, sandhārayanti namatakaṃ;
209青、黄、红、紫、黑色的袈裟。
Nīlaṃ pītaṃ lohitakaṃ, mañjiṭṭhakaṇhacīvarā.
210大染坊、大名称、被剪裁者及长衣;
Mahāraṅgamahānāmaacchinnā dīghameva ca;
211花布、果布、金丝布,还有树皮衣等,她们穿戴使用。
Pupphaphalakañcukañca, tirīṭakañca dhārayuṃ.
212当在学尼或沙马内莉去世时,
Bhikkhunī sikkhamānāya, sāmaṇerāya accaye;
213所遗留的资具,即归比丘尼所有。
Niyyādite parikkhāre, bhikkhuniyova issarā.
214对于比丘、沙马内拉、男居士、女居士的资具,
Bhikkhussa sāmaṇerassa, upāsakassupāsikā;
215以及其他资具,奉献后,比丘是其掌管者。
Aññesañca parikkhāre, niyyāte bhikkhuissarā.
216茉莉(糕点)、母胎、钵中根食、带汤汁的菜肴、带肉的(食物),
Mallī gabbhaṃ pattamūlaṃ, byañjanaṃ āmisena ca;
217丰盛的、极为丰盛的,以及储存的肉食。
Ussannañca bāḷhataraṃ, sannidhikatamāmisaṃ.
218比丘们得到怎样的食物,就同样为比丘尼们准备;
Bhikkhūnaṃ yādisaṃ bhoṭṭhaṃ , bhikkhunīnaṃ tathā kare;
219还有坐卧处、经期的比丘尼,以及敷具会沾染(经血),
Senāsanaṃ utuniyo, makkhīyati paṭāṇi ca.
220它们总是会被撕裂,而且看不到血迹的也显露了,
Chijjanti sabbakālañca, animittāpi dissare;
221有血迹的、流动鲜血的,还有同样是持续出血的。
Nimittā lohitā ceva, tatheva dhuvalohitā.
222常漏污衣者、流漏不止者、女根凸起者、女性黄门者;
Dhuvacoḷapaggharantī, sikharaṇitthipaṇḍakā;
223女根如男者、二根分具者,以及双性人。
Vepurisī ca sambhinnā, ubhatobyañjanāpi ca.
224从无性特征者开始,一直到双性人;
Animittādito katvā, yāva ubhatobyañjanā;
225以下省略的部分包括:麻风、痈肿、白斑病。
Etaṃ peyyālato heṭṭhā, kuṭṭhaṃ gaṇḍo kilāso ca.
226肺痨、癫痫, [问:] ‘你是人吗?你是女人吗?你是自由人吗?’
Sosāpamāro mānusī, itthīsi bhujissāsi ca;
227无债务者、非王家差役、得到允许者,这些共有二十种障碍。
Aṇaṇā na rājabhaṭī, anuññātā ca vīsati.
228‘你具足衣钵吗?你叫什么名字?你的戒师叫什么名字?’
Paripuṇṇā ca kinnāmā, kānāmā te pavattinī;
229问过这二十四障碍后,便授予具足戒。
Catuvīsantarāyānaṃ, pucchitvā upasampadā.
230没有受到详细教导,在僧团当中也是这样;
Vitthāyanti ananusiṭṭhā, saṅghamajjhe tatheva ca;
231戒师拿着桑喀帝,还有上衣和下衣。
Upajjhāgāha saṅghāṭi, uttarantaravāsako.
232小心说明浴衣的情况,然后派人送去;
Saṅkaccudakasāṭi ca, ācikkhitvāna pesaye;
233愚痴的人从没有被认可的人那里,请求查问障碍。
Bālā asammatekato, yāce pucchantarāyikā.
234先在一处受了具足戒,然后再在比丘僧团中同样受;
Ekatoupasampannā, bhikkhusaṅghe tathā puna;
235关于日影、时节、天数,以及三种依止。
Chāyā utu divasā ca, saṅgīti tayo nissaye.
236八种不能做的事,任何时候都是八条;
Aṭṭha akaraṇīyāni, kālaṃ sabbattha aṭṭheva;
237比丘尼不请比丘僧团自恣,同样也不请比丘尼僧团。
Na pavārenti bhikkhunī, bhikkhusaṅghaṃ tatheva ca.
238进食前喧哗,非时也喧哗;
Kolāhalaṃ purebhattaṃ, vikāle ca kolāhalaṃ;
239布萨、自恣,应告与追责;
Uposathaṃ pavāraṇaṃ, savacanīyānuvādanaṃ.
240请许、催促、提醒,被世尊所禁止;
Okāsaṃ code sārenti, paṭikkhittaṃ mahesinā;
241同样,比丘与比丘尼,则是世尊所开许的。
Tatheva bhikkhu bhikkhunī, anuññātaṃ mahesinā.
242车乘、与病者相关之事,弃车以及高价衣;
Yānaṃ gilānayuttañca, yānugghātaḍḍhakāsikā;
243比丘的学处、沙马内拉、沙马内莉,与愚痴者;
Bhikkhu sikkhā sāmaṇera, sāmaṇerī ca bālāya.
244在森林中,由近事男,指定住处;
Araññe upāsakena, uddosito upassayaṃ;
245新建工程不被允许,与孕妇独坐也不许可。
Na sammati navakammaṃ, nisinnagabbhaekikā.
246她舍弃了在家的生活,拒绝八重法,随后离去了。
Sāgārañca garudhammaṃ, paccakkhāya ca saṅkami;
247问安、头发、指甲,还有涂彩装扮。
Abhivādanakesā ca, nakhā ca vaṇakammanā.
248高广大床、照顾病人,排泄物上撒香粉。
Pallaṅkena gilānā ca, vaccaṃ cuṇṇena vāsitaṃ;
249在浴室中逆流沐浴,在不适合的渡口与男子同处。
Jantāghare paṭisote, atitthe purisena ca.
250大爱道提出了请求,阿难也如理地转达。
Mahāgotamī āyāci, ānando cāpi yoniso;
251由此,胜者的教法中有四众,即出家。
Parisā catasso honti, pabbajjā jinasāsane.
252这是为了催生悚惧心,也为了正法的增长。
Saṃvegajananatthāya , saddhammassa ca vuddhiyā;
253就如给病人的医药,这便是佛陀的教导。
Āturassāva bhesajjaṃ, evaṃ buddhena desitaṃ.
254像这样在真实法中受到调教,大爱道与其他的释迦族妇女们也一样,
Evaṃ vinītā saddhamme, mātugāmāpi itarā;
255她们走向那不动的境界,到了那里之后,就不会再有悲伤。
Yāyanti accutaṃ ṭhānaṃ, yattha gantvā na socareti.
