1. Saṅgītinidānaṃ
437那时,大迦叶尊者对比丘们说:“贤友们,有一次,我从波婆出发,与大约五百位比丘组成的大僧团一起,走在去古西那拉的大道上。贤友们,那时我离开道路,在某棵树下坐下。”
Atha kho āyasmā mahākassapo bhikkhū āmantesi – ‘‘ekamidāhaṃ, āvuso, samayaṃ pāvāya kusināraṃ addhānamaggappaṭipanno mahatā bhikkhusaṅghena saddhiṃ pañcamattehi bhikkhusatehi. Atha khvāhaṃ, āvuso, maggā okkamma aññatarasmiṃ rukkhamūle nisīdiṃ.
2“就在那时,贤友们,有一位邪命外道从古西那拉摘了曼陀罗花,正走在去波婆的大道上。贤友们,我远远看到那位邪命外道走来。看到他后,我对那位邪命外道这样说:‘贤友,你知道我们导师的消息吗?’他回答说:‘是的,贤友,我知道。沙门乔达摩已经在今天涅槃七天了。这朵曼陀罗花就是我从那里拿来的。’贤友们,在那里,那些还没有离欲的比丘们,有的举着双臂哭泣,有的像脚被砍断一样扑倒在地,翻来覆去,转展反侧,他们说:‘世尊太快涅槃了!善逝太快涅槃了!世间的眼睛太快消失了!’而那些已经离欲的比丘们,他们保持着正念和正知,安忍地接受这个事实,心里想:‘诸行是无常的,对此我们又有什么办法呢?’”
‘‘Tena kho pana samayena aññataro ājīvako kusinārāya mandāravapupphaṃ gahetvā pāvaṃ addhānamaggappaṭipanno hoti. Addasaṃ kho ahaṃ, āvuso, taṃ ājīvakaṃ dūratova āgacchantaṃ. Disvāna taṃ ājīvakaṃ etadavocaṃ – ‘apāvuso, amhākaṃ satthāraṃ jānāsī’ti? ‘Āmāvuso, jānāmi. Ajja sattāhaparinibbuto samaṇo gotamo. Tato me idaṃ mandāravapupphaṃ gahita’nti. Tatrāvuso, ye te bhikkhū avītarāgā appekacce bāhā paggayha kandanti, chinnapātaṃ papatanti, āvaṭṭanti, vivaṭṭanti – atikhippaṃ bhagavā parinibbuto, atikhippaṃ sugato parinibbuto, atikhippaṃ cakkhuṃ loke antarahitanti. Ye pana te bhikkhū vītarāgā te satā sampajānā adhivāsenti – aniccā saṅkhārā, taṃ kutettha labbhāti.
3“贤友们,那时我对那些比丘们这样说:‘够了,贤友们,不要悲伤,不要哭泣。贤友们,世尊难道不是早就预先说过吗?——和一切喜爱、可意的事物,都必然要分离、别离、变为其他状态。贤友们,对于已经生起、存在、被造作、具有坏灭性质的事物,还渴望它不要坏灭,这是没有道理的事,在这里我们能得到什么呢?’”
‘‘Atha khvāhaṃ, āvuso, te bhikkhū etadavocaṃ – ‘alaṃ, āvuso, mā socittha; mā paridevittha. Nanvetaṃ, āvuso, bhagavatā paṭikacceva akkhātaṃ – sabbeheva piyehi manāpehi nānābhāvo vinābhāvo aññathābhāvo. Taṃ kutettha āvuso labbhā, yaṃ taṃ jātaṃ bhūtaṃ saṅkhataṃ palokadhammaṃ, taṃ vata mā palujjīti – netaṃ ṭhānaṃ vijjatī’ti.
4“贤友们,就在那时,有一位名叫须婆德、老年出家的人坐在那个集会里。贤友们,这时,那位老年出家的须婆德对那些比丘们这样说:‘够了,贤友们,不要悲伤,不要哭泣了!我们可是从那位大沙门那里彻底解脱了!我们以前总是被他烦扰——他说“这对你们是适合的,这对你们是不适合的”。但现在,我们可以想做我们想做的事情,不想做的事情我们就不做!’贤友们,来吧,让我们来结集法和律吧。免得非法兴盛而法被压制,免得非律兴盛而律被压制,免得说非法的人强大、说法的人羸弱,免得说非律的人强大、说律的人羸弱。’”
‘‘Tena kho panāvuso, samayena subhaddo nāma vuḍḍhapabbajito tassaṃ parisāyaṃ nisinno hoti . Atha kho, āvuso, subhaddo vuḍḍhapabbajito te bhikkhū etadavoca – ‘alaṃ, āvuso, mā socittha; mā paridevittha. Sumuttā mayaṃ tena mahāsamaṇena ; upaddutā ca mayaṃ homa – idaṃ vo kappati, idaṃ vo na kappatīti. Idāni pana mayaṃ yaṃ icchissāma taṃ karissāma, yaṃ na icchissāma na taṃ karissāmā’ti. Handa mayaṃ, āvuso, dhammañca vinayañca saṅgāyāma. Pure adhammo dippati , dhammo paṭibāhiyyati; pure avinayo dippati vinayo paṭibāhiyyati; pure adhammavādino balavanto honti, dhammavādino dubbalā honti; pure avinayavādino balavanto honti, vinayavādino dubbalā hontī’’ti.
5“那么,大德,请长老您推选出比丘们吧。”于是,大迦叶尊者推选了四百九十九位阿拉汉。比丘们对大迦叶尊者说:“大德,这位阿难尊者虽然是位有学,但他没有能力因为贪欲、嗔恚、愚痴或恐惧而走错路。他在世尊身边学过很多法和律。因此,大德,请长老您也把阿难尊者推选进来吧。”于是,大迦叶尊者也将阿难尊者推选进来。
‘‘Tena hi, bhante, thero bhikkhū uccinatū’’ti. Atha kho āyasmā mahākassapo ekenūnapañcaarahantasatāni uccini. Bhikkhū āyasmantaṃ mahākassapaṃ etadavocuṃ – ‘‘ayaṃ, bhante, āyasmā ānando kiñcāpi sekkho, abhabbo chandā dosā mohā bhayā agatiṃ gantuṃ. Bahu ca anena bhagavato santike dhammo ca vinayo ca pariyatto. Tena hi, bhante, thero āyasmantampi ānandaṃ uccinatū’’ti . Atha kho āyasmā mahākassapo āyasmantampi ānandaṃ uccini.
6那时,长老比丘们心中想:“我们究竟在哪里结集法和律好呢?”接着,长老比丘们心中又想:“王舍城的食宿资源丰富,住所众多。我们何不去王舍城入雨安居,并在那里结集法和律呢?不让其他比丘来王舍城入雨安居。”
Atha kho therānaṃ bhikkhūnaṃ etadahosi – ‘‘kattha nu kho mayaṃ dhammañca vinayañca saṅgāyeyyāmā’’ti? Atha kho therānaṃ bhikkhūnaṃ etadahosi – ‘‘rājagahaṃ kho mahāgocaraṃ pahūtasenāsanaṃ, yaṃnūna mayaṃ rājagahe vassaṃ vasantā dhammañca vinayañca saṅgāyeyyāma. Na aññe bhikkhū rājagahe vassaṃ upagaccheyyu’’nti.
7于是,大迦叶尊者向僧团宣布:
Atha kho āyasmā mahākassapo saṅghaṃ ñāpesi –
438“贤友们,请僧团听我说。如果僧团认为时机合适,僧团应该委任这五百位比丘,让他们在王舍城入雨安居并结集法和律,并且不允许其他比丘在王舍城入雨安居。这是一个动议。”
‘‘Suṇātu me, āvuso, saṅgho. Yadi saṅghassa pattakallaṃ, saṅgho imāni pañca bhikkhusatāni sammanneyya – rājagahe vassaṃ vasantāni dhammañca vinayañca saṅgāyituṃ, na aññehi bhikkhūhi rājagahe vassaṃ vasitabbanti. Esā ñatti.
9“众贤友,请听僧团说:这五百位比丘作出决议——他们将在王舍城入雨安居,并在这里结集法与律;其他比丘不得在王舍城入雨安居。若哪位尊者同意这五百位比丘的决议——让他们在王舍城入雨安居,结集法与律,其他比丘不得在王舍城入雨安居——请保持沉默;若哪位不同意,请说出来。”
‘‘Suṇātu me, āvuso, saṅgho. Imāni pañca bhikkhusatāni sammannati – rājagahe vassaṃ vasantāni dhammañca vinayañca saṅgāyituṃ, na aññehi bhikkhūhi rājagahe vassaṃ vasitabbanti. Yassāyasmato khamati imesaṃ pañcannaṃ bhikkhusatānaṃ sammuti – rājagahe vassaṃ vasantānaṃ dhammañca vinayañca saṅgāyituṃ, na aññehi bhikkhūhi rājagahe vassaṃ vasitabbanti – so tuṇhassa; yassa nakkhamati, so bhāseyya.
10“僧团已通过了这五百位比丘的决议:他们将在王舍城入雨安居,结集法与律,其他比丘不得在王舍城入雨安居。这件事僧团同意,因此保持沉默,就这样,我持守这一决议。”
‘‘Sammatāni saṅghena imāni pañca bhikkhusatāni rājagahe vassaṃ vasantāni dhammañca vinayañca saṅgāyituṃ, na aññehi bhikkhūhi rājagahe vassaṃ vasitabbanti. Khamati saṅghassa, tasmā tuṇhī, evametaṃ dhārayāmī’’ti.
11那时,长老比丘们前往王舍城准备结集法与律。到了之后,长老比丘们心里这样想:“众贤友,世尊是赞叹修补房屋破损之处的。来吧,贤友们,第一个月我们先修补破损的房屋;第二个月再集合起来结集法与律。”
Atha kho therā bhikkhū rājagahaṃ agamaṃsu dhammañca vinayañca saṅgāyituṃ. Atha kho therānaṃ bhikkhūnaṃ etadahosi – ‘‘bhagavatā kho, āvuso, khaṇḍaphullappaṭisaṅkharaṇaṃ vaṇṇitaṃ. Handa mayaṃ, āvuso, paṭhamaṃ māsaṃ khaṇḍaphullaṃ paṭisaṅkharoma; majjhimaṃ māsaṃ sannipatitvā dhammañca vinayañca saṅgāyissāmā’’ti.
12于是,长老比丘们第一个月便着手修补破损的房屋。而那时,阿难尊者心里想:“明天就是集会了。我这样一个还有学的人去参加集会,这不合适。”于是,他在夜里花了很长时间修习身念住。到后夜时分,他心想“我躺下休息一会儿吧”,便觉察身体准备躺下。他的头还没碰到枕头,双脚刚刚离开地面——就在这一瞬间,他的心不执取任何事物,从一切烦恼中彻底解脱了。
Atha kho therā bhikkhū paṭhamaṃ māsaṃ khaṇḍaphullaṃ paṭisaṅkhariṃsu. Atha kho āyasmā ānando – sve sannipāto na kho metaṃ patirūpaṃ, yohaṃ sekkho samāno sannipātaṃ gaccheyyanti – bahudeva rattiṃ kāyagatāya satiyā vītināmetvā rattiyā paccūsasamayaṃ ‘nipajjissāmī’ti kāyaṃ āvajjesi. Appattañca sīsaṃ bibbohanaṃ, bhūmito ca pādā muttā. Etasmiṃ antare anupādāya āsavehi cittaṃ vimucci.
439接着,阿难尊者以阿拉汉之身,参加了集会。那时,大迦叶尊者向僧团宣布:
Atha kho āyasmā ānando arahā samāno sannipātaṃ agamāsi. Atha kho āyasmā mahākassapo saṅghaṃ ñāpesi –
14“众贤友,请听僧团说:如果僧团认为时机合适,我想就律藏向优波离提问。”
‘‘Suṇātu me, āvuso, saṅgho. Yadi saṅghassa pattakallaṃ, ahaṃ upāliṃ vinayaṃ puccheyya’’nti.
15优波离尊者向僧团宣布:
Āyasmā upāli saṅghaṃ ñāpesi –
16“诸位大德,请听僧团说:如果僧团认为时机合适,我愿意回答大迦叶尊者就律藏所提出的问题。”
‘‘Suṇātu me, bhante, saṅgho. Yadi saṅghassa pattakallaṃ, ahaṃ āyasmatā mahākassapena vinayaṃ puṭṭho vissajjeyya’’nti.
17于是,大迦叶尊者对优波离尊者说:“优波离贤友,第一条波罗夷是在哪里制定的?”“尊者,在毗舍离。”“针对谁?”“针对苏定纳·咖兰达子。”“在什么事情上?”“在淫欲法上。”于是,大迦叶尊者就第一条波罗夷的缘起之事询问优波离尊者,也问了它的因缘,也问了当事人,也问了制定,也问了补充制定,也问了犯,也问了不犯。(接着问:)“那么,优波离贤友,第二条波罗夷是在哪里制定的?”“尊者,在王舍城。”“针对谁?”“针对陶匠之子塔尼亚。”“在什么事情上?”“在不与取上。”于是,大迦叶尊者就第二条波罗夷的缘起之事询问优波离尊者,也问了它的因缘,也问了当事人,也问了制定,也问了补充制定,也问了犯,也问了不犯。(接着问:)“那么,优波离贤友,第三条波罗夷是在哪里制定的?”“尊者,在毗舍离。”“针对谁?”“针对众多比丘。”“在什么事情上?”“在杀人上。”于是,大迦叶尊者就第三条波罗夷的缘起之事询问优波离尊者,也问了它的因缘,也问了当事人,也问了制定,也问了补充制定,也问了犯,也问了不犯。(接着问:)“那么,优波离贤友,第四条波罗夷是在哪里制定的?”“尊者,在毗舍离。”“针对谁?”“针对跋耆穆达河边的比丘们。”“在什么事情上?”“在上人法上。”于是,大迦叶尊者就第四条波罗夷的缘起之事询问优波离尊者,也问了它的因缘,也问了当事人,也问了制定,也问了补充制定,也问了犯,也问了不犯。他以同样的方式询问了两部分别。所问之处,优波离尊者一一解答。
Atha kho āyasmā mahākassapo āyasmantaṃ upāliṃ etadavoca – ‘‘paṭhamaṃ, āvuso upāli , pārājikaṃ kattha paññatta’’nti? ‘‘Vesāliyaṃ bhante’’ti. ‘‘Kaṃ ārabbhā’’ti? ‘‘Sudinnaṃ kalandaputtaṃ ārabbhā’’ti. ‘‘Kismiṃ vatthusmi’’nti? ‘‘Methunadhamme’’ti. Atha kho āyasmā mahākassapo āyasmantaṃ upāliṃ paṭhamassa pārājikassa vatthumpi pucchi, nidānampi pucchi, puggalampi pucchi, paññattimpi pucchi, anupaññattimpi pucchi, āpattimpi pucchi, anāpattimpi pucchi. ‘‘Dutiyaṃ panāvuso upāli, pārājikaṃ kattha paññatta’’nti? ‘‘Rājagahe bhante’’ti. ‘‘Kaṃ ārabbhā’’ti? ‘‘Dhaniyaṃ kumbhakāraputtaṃ ārabbhā’’ti. ‘‘Kismiṃ vatthusmi’’nti? ‘‘Adinnādāne’’ti. Atha kho āyasmā mahākassapo āyasmantaṃ upāliṃ dutiyassa pārājikassa vatthumpi pucchi, nidānampi pucchi, puggalampi pucchi, paññattimpi pucchi, anupaññattimpi pucchi, āpattimpi pucchi, anāpattimpi pucchi. ‘‘Tatiyaṃ panāvuso upāli, pārājikaṃ kattha paññatta’’nti? ‘‘Vesāliyaṃ bhante’’ti. ‘‘Kaṃ ārabbhā’’ti? ‘‘Sambahule bhikkhū ārabbhā’’ti. ‘‘Kismiṃ vatthusmi’’nti? ‘‘Manussaviggahe’’ti. Atha kho āyasmā mahākassapo āyasmantaṃ upāliṃ tatiyassa pārājikassa vatthumpi pucchi, nidānampi pucchi, puggalampi pucchi, paññattimpi pucchi, anupaññattimpi pucchi, āpattimpi pucchi, anāpattimpi pucchi. ‘‘Catutthaṃ panāvuso upāli, pārājikaṃ kattha paññatta’’nti? ‘‘Vesāliyaṃ bhante’’ti. ‘‘Kaṃ ārabbhā’’ti? ‘‘Vaggumudātīriye bhikkhū ārabbhā’’ti. ‘‘Kismiṃ vatthusmi’’nti? ‘‘Uttarimanussadhamme’’ti. Atha kho āyasmā mahākassapo āyasmantaṃ upāliṃ catutthassa pārājikassa vatthumpi pucchi, nidānampi pucchi, puggalampi pucchi, paññattimpi pucchi, anupaññattimpi pucchi, āpattimpi pucchi, anāpattimpi pucchi. Eteneva upāyena ubhatovibhaṅge pucchi. Puṭṭho puṭṭho āyasmā upāli vissajjesi.
440于是,大迦叶尊者向僧团宣告:
Atha kho āyasmā mahākassapo saṅghaṃ ñāpesi –
19“贤友们,请僧团听我说。如果僧团觉得是时候了,我想向阿难询问法。”
‘‘Suṇātu me, āvuso, saṅgho. Yadi saṅghassa pattakallaṃ, ahaṃ ānandaṃ dhammaṃ puccheyya’’nti.
20阿难尊者向僧团宣告:
Āyasmā ānando saṅghaṃ ñāpesi –
21“尊者们,请僧团听我说。如果僧团觉得是时候了,我来回答大迦叶尊者所问的法。”
‘‘Suṇātu me, bhante, saṅgho. Yadi saṅghassa pattakallaṃ, ahaṃ āyasmatā mahākassapena dhammaṃ puṭṭho vissajjeyya’’nti.
22于是,大迦叶尊者对阿难尊者这样说:“阿难贤友,《梵网经》是在哪里说的?”“尊者,是在王舍城和那烂陀之间的王室行宫,安巴拉提卡园。”“针对谁?”“针对游方者苏比亚和学童梵授。”于是,大迦叶尊者就《梵网经》的因缘询问阿难尊者,也问了当事人。“那么,阿难贤友,《沙门果经》是在哪里说的?”“尊者,在王舍城的基瓦咖芒果林。”“和谁一起?”“和未生怨·韦德希子一起。”于是,大迦叶尊者就《沙门果经》的因缘询问阿难尊者,也问了当事人。他以同样的方式询问了五部尼柯耶。所问之处,阿难尊者一一解答。
Atha kho āyasmā mahākassapo āyasmantaṃ ānandaṃ etadavoca – ‘‘brahmajālaṃ, āvuso ānanda, kattha bhāsita’’nti? ‘‘Antarā ca, bhante, rājagahaṃ antarā ca nāḷandaṃ rājāgārake ambalaṭṭhikāyā’’ti. ‘‘Kaṃ ārabbhā’’ti? ‘‘Suppiyañca paribbājakaṃ brahmadattañca māṇava’’nti. Atha kho āyasmā mahākassapo āyasmantaṃ ānandaṃ brahmajālassa nidānampi pucchi, puggalampi pucchi. ‘‘Sāmaññaphalaṃ panāvuso ānanda, kattha bhāsita’’nti? ‘‘Rājagahe, bhante, jīvakambavane’’ti. ‘‘Kena saddhi’’nti? ‘‘Ajātasattunā vedehiputtena saddhi’’nti. Atha kho āyasmā mahākassapo āyasmantaṃ ānandaṃ sāmaññaphalassa nidānampi pucchi, puggalampi pucchi. Eteneva upāyena pañcapi nikāye pucchi. Puṭṭho puṭṭho āyasmā ānando vissajjesi.

2. Khuddānukhuddakasikkhāpadakathā
441于是,阿难尊者对上座比丘们这样说:“尊者们,世尊在般涅槃时这样对我说:‘阿难,如果僧团愿意,在我离去后,可以废除微细又微细的学处。’”“可是,阿难贤友,你有没有问世尊:‘尊者,哪些是微细又微细的学处呢?’”“尊者们,我没有问世尊:‘尊者,哪些是微细又微细的学处呢?’”有些上座这样说:“除了四条波罗夷,其余的都是微细又微细的学处。”有些上座这样说:“除了四条波罗夷、十三条僧残,其余的都是微细又微细的学处。”有些上座这样说:“除了四条波罗夷、十三条僧残、两条不定,其余的都是微细又微细的学处。”有些上座这样说:“除了四条波罗夷、十三条僧残、两条不定、三十条舍堕,其余的都是微细又微细的学处。”有些上座这样说:“除了四条波罗夷、十三条僧残、两条不定、三十条舍堕、九十二条波逸提,其余的都是微细又微细的学处。”有些上座这样说:“除了四条波罗夷、十三条僧残、两条不定、三十条舍堕、九十二条波逸提、四条悔过,其余的都是微细又微细的学处。”
Atha kho āyasmā ānando there bhikkhū etadavoca – ‘‘bhagavā maṃ, bhante, parinibbānakāle evamāha – ‘ākaṅkhamāno, ānanda, saṅgho mamaccayena khuddānukhuddakāni sikkhāpadāni samūhaneyyā’’’ti. ‘‘Pucchi pana tvaṃ, āvuso ānanda, bhagavantaṃ – ‘katamāni pana, bhante, khuddānukhuddakāni sikkhāpadānī’’’ti? ‘‘Na khohaṃ, bhante, bhagavantaṃ pucchiṃ – ‘katamāni pana, bhante, khuddānukhuddakāni sikkhāpadānī’’ti. Ekacce therā evamāhaṃsu – ‘‘cattāri pārājikāni ṭhapetvā, avasesāni khuddānukhuddakāni sikkhāpadānī’’ti. Ekacce therā evamāhaṃsu – ‘‘cattāri pārājikāni ṭhapetvā , terasa saṅghādisese ṭhapetvā, avasesāni khuddānukhuddakāni sikkhāpadānī’’ti. Ekacce therā evamāhaṃsu – ‘‘cattāri pārājikāni ṭhapetvā, terasa saṅghādisese ṭhapetvā, dve aniyate ṭhapetvā, avasesāni khuddānukhuddakāni sikkhāpadānī’’ti. Ekacce therā evamāhaṃsu – ‘‘cattāri pārājikāni ṭhapetvā, terasa saṅghādisese ṭhapetvā, dve aniyate ṭhapetvā, tiṃsa nissaggiye pācittiye ṭhapetvā, avasesāni khuddānukhuddakāni sikkhāpadānī’’ti. Ekacce therā evamāhaṃsu – ‘‘cattāri pārājikāni ṭhapetvā, terasa saṅghādisese ṭhapetvā, dve aniyate ṭhapetvā, tiṃsa nissaggiye pācittiye ṭhapetvā, dvenavuti pācittiye ṭhapetvā, avasesāni khuddānukhuddakāni sikkhāpadānī’’ti. Ekacce therā evamāhaṃsu – ‘‘cattāri pārājikāni ṭhapetvā, terasa saṅghādisese ṭhapetvā, dve aniyate ṭhapetvā, tiṃsa nissaggiye pācittiye ṭhapetvā, dvenavuti pācittiye ṭhapetvā, cattāro pāṭidesanīye ṭhapetvā, avasesāni khuddānukhuddakāni sikkhāpadānī’’ti.
442于是,大迦叶尊者向僧团宣告:
Atha kho āyasmā mahākassapo saṅghaṃ ñāpesi –
25“诸位尊者,请听我说。我们有一些学处是连在家人都知道的。在家人也知道——‘这个对你们沙门释迦子是允许的,那个对你们是不允许的。’如果我们把那些微细又微细的学处废除掉,就会有人这么说:‘沙门乔达摩为弟子们制定的学处像烟一样——师父在的时候,他们照着学处学;师父一涅槃,他们就不学了。’如果僧团觉得时机合适,僧团就不应制定未曾制定的,不应废除已经制定的,应当受持如所制定的学处而行。这是动议。”
‘‘Suṇātu me, āvuso, saṅgho. Santamhākaṃ sikkhāpadāni gihigatāni. Gihinopi jānanti – ‘idaṃ vo samaṇānaṃ sakyaputtiyānaṃ kappati, idaṃ vo na kappatī’ti. Sace mayaṃ khuddānukhuddakāni sikkhāpadāni samūhanissāma, bhavissanti vattāro – ‘dhūmakālikaṃ samaṇena gotamena sāvakānaṃ sikkhāpadaṃ paññattaṃ. Yāvimesaṃ satthā aṭṭhāsi tāvime sikkhāpadesu sikkhiṃsu. Yato imesaṃ satthā parinibbuto, na dānime sikkhāpadesu sikkhantī’ti. Yadi saṅghassa pattakallaṃ, saṅgho appaññattaṃ nappaññapeyya, paññattaṃ na samucchindeyya, yathāpaññattesu sikkhāpadesu samādāya vatteyya. Esā ñatti.
26“诸位尊者,请听我说。我们有一些学处是连在家人都知道的。在家人也知道——‘这个对你们沙门释迦子是允许的,那个对你们是不允许的。’如果我们把那些微细又微细的学处废除掉,就会有人这么说:‘沙门乔达摩为弟子们制定的学处像烟一样——师父在的时候,他们照着学处学;师父一涅槃,他们就不学了。’僧团不制定未曾制定的,不废除已经制定的,受持如所制定的学处而行。哪位尊者认同不制定未曾制定的、不废除已经制定的、受持如所制定的学处而行,请沉默;哪位不认同,请说出来。”
‘‘Suṇātu me, āvuso, saṅgho. Santamhākaṃ sikkhāpadāni gihigatāni. Gihinopi jānanti – ‘idaṃ vo samaṇānaṃ sakyaputtiyānaṃ kappati, idaṃ vo na kappatī’ti. Sace mayaṃ khuddānukhuddakāni sikkhāpadāni samūhanissāma, bhavissanti vattāro – ‘dhūmakālikaṃ samaṇena gotamena sāvakānaṃ sikkhāpadaṃ paññattaṃ . Yāvimesaṃ satthā aṭṭhāsi tāvime sikkhāpadesu sikkhiṃsu. Yato imesaṃ satthā parinibbuto, na dānime sikkhāpadesu sikkhantī’ti. Saṅgho appaññattaṃ nappaññapeti, paññattaṃ na samucchindati, yathāpaññattesu sikkhāpadesu samādāya vattati. Yassāyasmato khamati appaññattassa appaññāpanā, paññattassa asamucchedo, yathāpaññattesu sikkhāpadesu samādāya vattanā, so tuṇhassa; yassa nakkhamati, so bhāseyya.
27“僧团不制定未曾制定的,不废除已经制定的,受持如所制定的学处而行。僧团认同,因此沉默。我这样记住了。”
‘‘Saṅgho appaññattaṃ nappaññapeti, paññattaṃ na samucchindati, yathāpaññattesu sikkhāpadesu samādāya vattati. Khamati saṅghassa, tasmā tuṇhī, evametaṃ dhārayāmī’’ti.
443那时,长老比丘们对阿难尊者这样说:“阿难尊者,这是你的恶作——你没有问世尊:‘大德,哪些是微细又微细的学处呢?’请忏悔这个恶作。”“大德们,我当时是因为疏忽,没有问世尊:‘大德,哪些是微细又微细的学处呢?’我不觉得那是恶作,但出于对诸位尊者的信任,我忏悔这个恶作。”“阿难尊者,这也是你的恶作——你踩在世尊的雨衣上缝补。请忏悔这个恶作。”“大德们,我不是出于不恭敬而踩在世尊的雨衣上缝补的。我不觉得那是恶作,但出于对诸位尊者的信任,我忏悔这个恶作。”“阿难尊者,这也是你的恶作——你让女人们先礼拜世尊的遗体,她们哭泣的时候,泪水把世尊的遗体弄脏了。请忏悔这个恶作。”“大德们,我是想‘别让她们在不合适的时侯待着’,才让女人们先礼拜世尊的遗体的。我不觉得那是恶作,但出于对诸位尊者的信任,我忏悔这个恶作。”“阿难尊者,这也是你的恶作——世尊给出了粗显的暗示,给出了粗显的示现,你却没有请求世尊:‘愿世尊住世一劫,愿善逝住世一劫,为了众多人的利益,为了众多人的安乐,为了对世间的悲悯,为了人天的福祉、利益、安乐。’请忏悔这个恶作。”“大德们,我当时心被魔王所覆蔽,没有请求世尊:‘愿世尊住世一劫,愿善逝住世一劫,为了众多人的利益,为了众多人的安乐,为了对世间的悲悯,为了人天的福祉、利益、安乐。’我不觉得那是恶作,但出于对诸位尊者的信任,我忏悔这个恶作。”“阿难尊者,这也是你的恶作——你为女众在如来宣说的法、律中出家的事费心张罗。请忏悔这个恶作。”“大德们,我是想:‘这位大爱道果德弥是世尊的姨母、养育者、照料者、哺乳者,世尊的生母去世后,是她用乳汁喂养了世尊。’所以我才为女众在如来宣说的法、律中出家的事费心张罗。我不觉得那是恶作,但出于对诸位尊者的信任,我忏悔这个恶作。”
Atha kho therā bhikkhū āyasmantaṃ ānandaṃ etadavocuṃ – ‘‘idaṃ te, āvuso ānanda, dukkaṭaṃ, yaṃ tvaṃ bhagavantaṃ na pucchi – ‘katamāni pana, bhante, khuddānukhuddakāni sikkhāpadānī’ti. Desehi taṃ dukkaṭa’’nti. ‘‘Ahaṃ kho, bhante, assatiyā bhagavantaṃ na pucchiṃ – ‘katamāni pana, bhante, khuddānukhuddakāni sikkhāpadānī’ti. Nāhaṃ taṃ dukkaṭaṃ passāmi, api cāyasmantānaṃ saddhāya desemi taṃ dukkaṭa’’nti. ‘‘Idampi te, āvuso ānanda, dukkaṭaṃ, yaṃ tvaṃ bhagavato vassikasāṭikaṃ akkamitvā sibbesi. Desehi taṃ dukkaṭa’’nti. ‘‘Ahaṃ kho, bhante, na agāravena bhagavato vassikasāṭikaṃ akkamitvā sibbesiṃ. Nāhaṃ taṃ dukkaṭaṃ passāmi, api cāyasmantānaṃ saddhāya desemi taṃ dukkaṭa’’nti. ‘‘Idampi te, āvuso ānanda, dukkaṭaṃ, yaṃ tvaṃ mātugāmehi bhagavato sarīraṃ paṭhamaṃ vandāpesi, tāsaṃ rodantīnaṃ bhagavato sarīraṃ assukena makkhitaṃ. Desehi taṃ dukkaṭa’’nti. Ahaṃ kho, bhante – māyimāsaṃ vikāle ahesunti – mātugāmehi bhagavato sarīraṃ paṭhamaṃ vandāpesiṃ. Nāhaṃ taṃ dukkaṭaṃ passāmi, api cāyasmantānaṃ saddhāya desemi taṃ dukkaṭa’’nti. ‘‘Idampi te, āvuso ānanda, dukkaṭaṃ, yaṃ tvaṃ bhagavatā oḷārike nimitte kayiramāne, oḷārike obhāse kayiramāne, na bhagavantaṃ yāci – ‘tiṭṭhatu bhagavā kappaṃ, tiṭṭhatu sugato kappaṃ, bahujanahitāya bahujanasukhāya lokānukampāya atthāya hitāya sukhāya devamanussāna’nti. Desehi taṃ dukkaṭa’’nti. ‘‘Ahaṃ kho, bhante, mārena pariyuṭṭhitacitto na bhagavantaṃ yāciṃ – ‘tiṭṭhatu bhagavā kappaṃ, tiṭṭhatu sugato kappaṃ, bahujanahitāya bahujanasukhāya lokānukampāya atthāya hitāya sukhāya devamanussāna’nti. Nāhaṃ taṃ dukkaṭaṃ passāmi, api cāyasmantānaṃ saddhāya desemi taṃ dukkaṭa’’nti. ‘‘Idampi te, āvuso ānanda, dukkaṭaṃ yaṃ tvaṃ mātugāmassa tathāgatappavedite dhammavinaye pabbajjaṃ ussukkaṃ akāsi. Desehi taṃ dukkaṭa’’nti. ‘‘Ahaṃ kho, bhante, ayaṃ mahāpajāpati gotamī bhagavato mātucchā āpādikā posikā khīrassa dāyikā bhagavantaṃ janettiyā kālaṅkatāya thaññaṃ pāyesīti mātugāmassa tathāgatappavedite dhammavinaye pabbajjaṃ ussukkaṃ akāsiṃ. Nāhaṃ taṃ dukkaṭaṃ passāmi, api cāyasmantānaṃ saddhāya desemi taṃ dukkaṭa’’nti.
444那时,富楼那尊者正在南山游方,带着一个大比丘僧团,大约有五百位比丘。富楼那尊者在南山随心所欲地住了一段时间后,便前往王舍城、竹林、松鼠觅食处,去见长老比丘们。到了之后,与长老比丘们互相问候寒暄,然后坐在一边。长老比丘们对坐在一边的富楼那尊者这样说:“富楼那尊者,法、律已经被长老们结集了。请你接受这个结集吧。”“诸位尊者,法和律被长老们结集得很好。不过,我是怎么在世尊面前亲闻、亲受的,我就会怎么持守。”
Tena kho pana samayena āyasmā purāṇo dakkhiṇāgirismiṃ cārikaṃ carati mahatā bhikkhusaṅghena saddhiṃ pañcamattehi bhikkhusatehi. Atha kho āyasmā purāṇo therehi bhikkhūhi dhamme ca vinaye ca saṅgīte dakkhiṇāgirismiṃ yathābhirantaṃ viharitvā yena rājagahaṃ yena veḷuvanaṃ kalandakanivāpo yena therā bhikkhū tenupasaṅkami, upasaṅkamitvā therehi bhikkhūhi saddhiṃ paṭisammoditvā ekamantaṃ nisīdi. Ekamantaṃ nisinnaṃ kho āyasmantaṃ purāṇaṃ therā bhikkhū etadavocuṃ – ‘‘therehi, āvuso purāṇa, dhammo ca vinayo ca saṅgīto. Upehi taṃ saṅgīti’’nti. ‘‘Susaṅgītāvuso, therehi dhammo ca vinayo ca. Apica yatheva mayā bhagavato sammukhā sutaṃ, sammukhā paṭiggahitaṃ, tathevāhaṃ dhāressāmī’’ti.

445那时,阿难尊者对长老比丘们这样说:“大德们,世尊在涅槃的时候这样对我说:‘那么,阿难,在我离开后,僧团应当对阐那比丘施以梵罚。’”“阿难尊者,你有没有问世尊:‘大德,什么是梵罚?’”“我问了,大德们,我问了世尊:‘大德,什么是梵罚?’”“阿难,阐那比丘想说什么就让他说去。比丘们不应和阐那比丘说话,不应教诫他,不应教导他。”“那么,阿难尊者,就由你去对阐那比丘施以梵罚吧。”“大德们,我怎么去对阐那比丘施以梵罚呢?那个比丘又粗暴又蛮横。”“那么,阿难尊者,你就带很多比丘一起去吧。”“是的,大德们。”阿难尊者答应了长老比丘们,带着一个大约五百位比丘的大僧团,乘船逆流而上前往憍赏弥。下船之后,在离优填王的园林不远处的一棵树下坐着。那时,优填王正和后宫一起在园林里游乐。优填王的后宫听说了:“听说我们的师父阿难尊者就在园林不远处的一棵树下坐着呢。”于是,优填王的后宫对优填王这样说:“大王,听说我们的师父阿难尊者就在园林不远处的一棵树下坐着。大王,我们想去拜见阿难尊者。”“那你们就去见沙门阿难吧。”
Atha kho āyasmā ānando there bhikkhū etadavoca – ‘‘bhagavā maṃ, bhante, parinibbānakāle evamāha – ‘tena hānanda, saṅgho mamaccayena channassa bhikkhuno brahmadaṇḍaṃ āṇāpetū’’’ti . ‘‘Pucchi pana tvaṃ, āvuso ānanda, bhagavantaṃ – ‘katamo pana, bhante, brahmadaṇḍo’’’ti? ‘‘Pucchiṃ khohaṃ, bhante, bhagavantaṃ – ‘katamo pana, bhante, brahmadaṇḍo’’’ti? ‘‘Channo, ānanda, bhikkhu yaṃ iccheyya taṃ vadeyya. Bhikkhūhi channo bhikkhu neva vattabbo, na ovaditabbo, nānusāsitabbo’’ti. ‘‘Tena hāvuso ānanda, tvaṃyeva channassa bhikkhuno brahmadaṇḍaṃ āṇāpehī’’ti. ‘‘Kathāhaṃ, bhante, channassa bhikkhuno brahmadaṇḍaṃ āṇāpemi, caṇḍo so bhikkhu pharuso’’ti? ‘Tena hāvuso ānanda, bahukehi bhikkhūhi saddhiṃ gacchāhī’’ti. ‘‘Evaṃ bhante’’ti kho āyasmā ānando therānaṃ bhikkhūnaṃ paṭissutvā mahatā bhikkhusaṅghena saddhiṃ pañcamattehi bhikkhusatehi nāvāya ujjavanikāya kosambiṃ ujjavi, nāvāya paccorohitvā rañño udenassa uyyānassa avidūre aññatarasmiṃ rukkhamūle nisīdi. Tena kho pana samayena rājā udeno uyyāne paricāresi saddhiṃ orodhena. Assosi kho rañño udenassa orodho – ‘‘amhākaṃ kira ācariyo ayyo ānando uyyānassa avidūre aññatarasmiṃ rukkhamūle nisinno’’ti. Atha kho rañño udenassa orodho rājānaṃ udenaṃ etadavoca – ‘‘amhākaṃ kira, deva, ācariyo ayyo ānando uyyānassa avidūre aññatarasmiṃ rukkhamūle nisinno. Icchāma mayaṃ, deva, ayyaṃ ānandaṃ passitu’’nti. ‘‘Tena hi tumhe samaṇaṃ ānandaṃ passathā’’ti.
31于是,优填王的后宫来到阿难尊者那里,到了之后,向阿难尊者行礼,坐在一边。阿难尊者对坐在一边的优填王后众用法的开示来教导、鼓励、激发、令她们欢喜。优填王的后宫被阿难尊者用法的开示教导、鼓励、激发、令欢喜之后,供养了阿难尊者五百件上衣。然后,优填王的后宫对阿难尊者的开示感到欢喜、随喜,从座位上起身,向阿难尊者行礼,右绕之后,来到优填王那里。优填王远远看见后宫过来,看见之后,对后宫这样说:“你们见到沙门阿难了吗?”“大王,我们见到阿难尊者了。”“你们有没有给沙门阿难什么东西呢?”“大王,我们供养了阿难尊者五百件上衣。”优填王不满、批评、责备道:“沙门阿难怎么能接受那么多衣服!沙门阿难是要做布匹生意,还是要开布店!”
Atha kho rañño udenassa orodho yenāyasmā ānando tenupasaṅkami, upasaṅkamitvā āyasmantaṃ ānandaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ nisīdi. Ekamantaṃ nisinnaṃ kho rañño udenassa orodhaṃ āyasmā ānando dhammiyā kathāya sandassesi samādapesi samuttejesi sampahaṃsesi . Atha kho rañño udenassa orodho āyasmatā ānandena dhammiyā kathāya sandassito samādapito samuttejito sampahaṃsito āyasmato ānandassa pañca uttarāsaṅgasatāni pādāsi. Atha kho rañño udenassa orodho āyasmato ānandassa bhāsitaṃ abhinanditvā anumoditvā uṭṭhāyāsanā āyasmantaṃ ānandaṃ abhivādetvā padakkhiṇaṃ katvā yena rājā udeno tenupasaṅkami. Addasā kho rājā udeno orodhaṃ dūratova āgacchantaṃ. Disvāna orodhaṃ etadavoca – ‘‘api nu kho tumhe samaṇaṃ ānandaṃ passitthā’’ti? ‘‘Apassimhā kho mayaṃ, deva, ayyaṃ ānanda’’nti. ‘‘Api nu tumhe samaṇassa ānandassa kiñci adatthā’’ti? ‘‘Adamhā kho mayaṃ, deva, ayyassa ānandassa pañca uttarāsaṅgasatānī’’ti. Rājā udeno ujjhāyati khiyyati vipāceti – ‘‘kathañhi nāma samaṇo ānando tāva bahuṃ cīvaraṃ paṭiggahessati! Dussavāṇijjaṃ vā samaṇo ānando karissati, paggāhikasālaṃ vā pasāressatī’’ti!
32于是,优填王来到阿难尊者那里,到了之后,与阿难尊者互相问候。进行了礼貌、有趣的交谈之后,坐在一边。坐在一边的优填王对阿难尊者这样说:“阿难尊者,我的后宫来过你这里吗?”“大王,你的后宫来过这里。”“那她有没有给阿难尊者什么东西呢?”“大王,她供养了我五百件上衣。”“阿难尊者要这么多衣服做什么呢?”“大王,哪些比丘的衣服破旧了,我就和他们分着用。”“那阿难尊者,那些旧了的破衣服,你们怎么处理呢?”“大王,我们就拿来当床单。”“那阿难尊者,那些旧了的床单,你们怎么处理呢?”“大王,我们就拿来当枕头套。”“那阿难尊者,那些旧了的枕头套,你们怎么处理呢?”“大王,我们就拿来当地毯。”“那阿难尊者,那些旧了的地毯,你们怎么处理呢?”“大王,我们就拿来当擦脚布。”“那阿难尊者,那些旧了的擦脚布,你们怎么处理呢?”“大王,我们就把它弄碎,掺上泥浆,用来抹墙面、地面。”
Atha kho rājā udeno yenāyasmā ānando tenupasaṅkami, upasaṅkamitvā āyasmatā ānandena saddhiṃ sammodi. Sammodanīyaṃ kathaṃ sāraṇīyaṃ vītisāretvā ekamantaṃ nisīdi. Ekamantaṃ nisinno kho rājā udeno āyasmantaṃ ānandaṃ etadavoca – ‘‘āgamā nu khvidha, bho ānanda, amhākaṃ orodho’’ti? ‘‘Āgamāsi kho te idha, mahārāja, orodho’’ti. ‘‘Api pana bhoto ānandassa kiñci adāsī’’ti? ‘‘Adāsi kho me, mahārāja, pañca uttarāsaṅgasatānī’’ti. ‘‘Kiṃ pana bhavaṃ ānando tāva bahuṃ cīvaraṃ karissatī’’ti? ‘‘Ye te, mahārāja, bhikkhū dubbalacīvarā tehi saddhiṃ saṃvibhajissāmī’’ti. ‘‘Yāni kho pana, bho ānanda, porāṇakāni dubbalacīvarāni tāni kathaṃ karissathā’’ti? ‘‘Tāni, mahārāja, uttarattharaṇaṃ karissāmā’’ti. ‘‘Yāni pana, bho ānanda, porāṇakāni uttarattharaṇāni tāni kathaṃ karissathā’’ti? ‘‘Tāni, mahārāja, bhisicchaviyo karissāmā’’ti. ‘‘Yā pana, bho ānanda, porāṇakā bhisicchaviyo tā kathaṃ karissathā’’ti? ‘‘Tā, mahārāja, bhūmattharaṇaṃ karissāmā’’ti. ‘‘Yāni pana, bho ānanda, porāṇakāni bhūmattharaṇāni tāni kathaṃ karissathā’’ti? ‘‘Tāni, mahārāja, pādapuñchaniyo karissāmā’’ti. ‘‘Yā pana, bho ānanda, porāṇakā pādapuñchaniyo tā kathaṃ karissathā’’ti?. ‘‘Tā, mahārāja, rajoharaṇaṃ karissāmā’’ti. ‘‘Yāni pana, bho ānanda, porāṇakāni rajoharaṇāni tāni kathaṃ karissathā’’ti? ‘‘Tāni, mahārāja, koṭṭetvā cikkhallena madditvā paribhaṇḍaṃ limpissāmā’’ti.
33那时,优填王心想:‘所有这些沙门释迦弟子都是用正当途径培养起来的,不会以世俗家族的方式延续下去。’于是额外布施给阿难尊者五百件粗布衣。在那个时候,阿难尊者第一次收到了衣物的乞求,合计一千件衣。接着,阿难尊者前往瞿师罗园,到了之后,在铺设好的座位上坐下。那时,阐那尊者来到阿难尊者那里,到了之后,向阿难尊者顶礼,然后坐在一边。阿难尊者对坐在一边的阐那尊者这样说:‘阐那贤友,僧团已对你下达了梵罚的决定。’
Atha kho rājā udeno – sabbevime samaṇā sakyaputtiyā yoniso upanenti, na kulavaṃ gamentīti – āyasmato ānandassa aññānipi pañca dussasatāni pādāsi. Ayañcarahi āyasmato ānandassa paṭhamaṃ cīvarabhikkhā uppajji cīvarasahassaṃ. Atha kho āyasmā ānando yena ghositārāmo tenupasaṅkami, upasaṅkamitvā paññatte āsane nisīdi. Atha kho āyasmā channo yenāyasmā ānando tenupasaṅkami, upasaṅkamitvā āyasmantaṃ ānandaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ nisīdi. Ekamantaṃ nisinnaṃ kho āyasmantaṃ channaṃ āyasmā ānando etadavoca – ‘‘saṅghena te, āvuso channa, brahmadaṇḍo āṇāpito’’ti.
34‘阿难尊者,所下达的梵罚具体是怎样的呢?’‘阐那贤友,你以后想对比丘们说什么就可以说什么。但是,比丘们不会对你说话,不会教诫你,也不会指导你。’‘阿难尊者,就凭比丘们不对我说话、不教诫我、不指导我这一点,我岂不是等于彻底完了!’说完,他就当场昏厥倒地。之后,阐那尊者因梵罚而感到羞愧、厌离、悔恨。他独自一人远离人群,勤奋、精进、心志坚定地修行。不久之后,便在这见法的今生,自己以胜智亲证并圆满安住于那无上的梵行终极——善男子们正是为了这个目标,正确地由俗家出家而过无家的生活。他了知:‘生已尽,梵行已立,应作已作,不再有来世。’阐那尊者成为阿拉汉中的一员。接着,阐那尊者证得阿拉汉果之后,来到阿难尊者那里,到了之后,对阿难尊者这样说:‘阿难尊者,请您现在就解除我的梵罚吧。’‘阐那贤友,从你亲证阿拉汉的那一刻起,对你的梵罚就已经自动解除了。’在这次律的结集中,有五百位比丘参加,不多不少。因此,这次律的结集被称为‘五百结集’。
‘‘Katamo pana, bhante ānanda, brahmadaṇḍo āṇāpito’’ti? ‘‘Tvaṃ, āvuso channa, bhikkhū yaṃ iccheyyāsi taṃ vadeyyāsi. Bhikkhūhi tvaṃ neva vattabbo, na ovaditabbo, nānusāsitabbo’’ti. ‘‘Nanvāhaṃ, bhante ānanda, hato ettāvatā, yatohaṃ bhikkhūhi neva vattabbo, na ovaditabbo, nānusāsitabbo’’ti tattheva mucchito papato. Atha kho āyasmā channo brahmadaṇḍena aṭṭīyamāno harāyamāno jigucchamāno eko vūpakaṭṭho appamatto ātāpī pahitatto viharanto nacirasseva yassatthāya kulaputtā sammadeva agārasmā anagāriyaṃ pabbajanti, tadanuttaraṃ brahmacariyapariyosānaṃ diṭṭheva dhamme sayaṃ abhiññā sacchikatvā upasampajja vihāsi. ‘Khīṇā jāti, vusitaṃ brahmacariyaṃ, kataṃ karaṇīyaṃ, nāparaṃ itthattāyā’ti abbhaññāsi. Aññataro ca panāyasmā channo arahataṃ ahosi. Atha kho āyasmā channo arahattaṃ patto yenāyasmā ānando tenupasaṅkami, upasaṅkamitvā āyasmantaṃ ānandaṃ etadavoca – ‘‘paṭippassambhehi dāni me, bhante ānanda, brahmadaṇḍa’’nti. ‘‘Yadaggena tayā, āvuso channa, arahattaṃ sacchikataṃ tadaggena te brahmadaṇḍo paṭippassaddho’’ti. Imāya kho pana vinayasaṅgītiyā pañca bhikkhusatāni anūnāni anadhikāni ahesuṃ. Tasmā ayaṃ vinayasaṅgīti ‘‘pañcasatikā’’ti vuccatīti.

35等正觉者般涅槃后,大迦叶长老,

37在从波婆城来时的路途上,须婆德说了那样的话。
Pāvāyaddhānamaggamhi, subhaddena paveditaṃ;
38我们应当结集正法,在非法还未广泛流传之前。

39除了阿难还差一位,便有五百之数;大迦叶亦将阿难拣选进来,
Ekenūna pañcasataṃ, ānandampi ca uccini;
40在殊胜的七叶窟中,安居并进行法与律的结集。
Dhammavinayasaṅgītiṃ, vasanto guhamuttame.
41戒律方面,大迦叶询问了优波离;经法方面,则询问了博学的阿难。
Upāliṃ vinayaṃ pucchi, suttantānandapaṇḍitaṃ;
42胜者的弟子们,就这样完成了三藏的结集。
Piṭakaṃ tīṇi saṅgītiṃ, akaṃsu jinasāvakā.
43没有请求、跨越、礼敬与祈请。
Na pucchi akkamitvāna, vandāpesi na yāci ca.
44出于信心,为女性请求了出家,这些都是我的恶作。
Pabbajjaṃ mātugāmassa, saddhāya dukkaṭāni me;
45还有对旧人阐那施以梵罚,以及与优填王同行的阻拦。
Purāṇo brahmadaṇḍañca, orodho udenena saha.
46那时有许多微细的过失:例如敷盖物、垫褥、
Tāva bahu dubbalañca, uttarattharaṇā bhisi;
47敷地物、擦脚布,以及泥土和踩踏泥泞之事。
Bhūmattharaṇā puñchaniyo, rajo cikkhallamaddanā.
48在结集时,一千件衣被拿出来,其首件便以阿难命名。
Sahassacīvaraṃ uppajji, paṭhamānandasavhayo;
49被梵罚所威吓,他证悟了四圣谛;
Tajjito brahmadaṇḍena, catussaccaṃ apāpuṇi;
50有五百位已得自在者,因此称为‘五百’。
Vasībhūtā pañcasatā, tasmā pañcasatī iti.
